00:00:00ДИНАМИЧНАЯ МУЗЫКА
00:00:33I'm not going to berate you with turnovers this time around.
00:00:36The Warriors are healthy.
00:00:38We're going to see Steph and KP on the floor together
00:00:40for hopefully more than eight minutes.
00:00:43Well, you hit on it, Bonte,
00:00:44and you guys are talking about that starting lineup.
00:00:47There's just a different feel.
00:00:49I mean, Kalina and I were talking about it,
00:00:50watching warm-ups, talking to coaches.
00:00:53Wednesday starts the postseason,
00:00:55and so the Warriors are going to get a little test drive tonight.
00:01:00With eight guys in the rotation
00:01:01that hopefully you would see on Wednesday.
00:01:03We're excited about seeing it.
00:01:05It feels like the players are really upbeat,
00:01:07and they're excited about getting to see themselves play together
00:01:10and build a rapport there.
00:01:12And, Mully, how much are you looking forward
00:01:13to Steph and Porzingis working together?
00:01:15But not just the regular stuff,
00:01:17some of the unorthodox stuff,
00:01:19like have Steph set a screen for Porzingis,
00:01:21where Porzingis is handling it.
00:01:23Like, they may say,
00:01:24we want to see Maxime Renault guard Porzingis
00:01:27off a wide pin down,
00:01:28and Steph setting the screen,
00:01:29and just see how they deal with that
00:01:31because it's so hard for bigs
00:01:33to deal with some of the things Porzingis can do
00:01:34and some of the places you can put him on the court, Mully.
00:01:37Yeah, I love some of the things Steve Kerr did
00:01:39when they did play together with Draymond,
00:01:40handle a basketball,
00:01:42Steph pinning down.
00:01:43We saw Porzingis curl for a dunk.
00:01:46I'm interested to see high pick and roll
00:01:49when it's with Draymond,
00:01:50and he's making the decisions.
00:01:51Is Porzingis spaced at three?
00:01:53Is he in the dunker spot?
00:01:55And then when Porzingis is the screener,
00:01:57when he can catch,
00:01:58maybe knock down a three
00:02:00and make that next play.
00:02:01So there's a lot of things
00:02:02that Steve Kerr can work on
00:02:04short amount of time,
00:02:05but as you said, Fitz,
00:02:06this is the postseason.
00:02:08You've got two games to get ready.
00:02:09Most important thing,
00:02:10you're dealing with veterans.
00:02:12They're going to understand things quickly.
00:02:14It's just a matter of getting some time
00:02:15together on the floor.
00:02:17And Festus will go to the other end on defense.
00:02:20Draymond is the speed five
00:02:22had been part of the Warriors playoff,
00:02:24you know, history.
00:02:25But I like Draymond with Al Horford behind him,
00:02:28with Porzingis behind him,
00:02:29with Bassey behind him.
00:02:31Let Draymond be a wrecker all around
00:02:33when you played behind him.
00:02:35What does that do for Draymond
00:02:37knowing he doesn't have to play the five
00:02:38because he has some bigger guys behind him?
00:02:42That's just good for his mentality.
00:02:44He's going to be playing his original position.
00:02:46Draymond does a lot of damage
00:02:47when he's the communicator,
00:02:49the guy who's breaking up plays.
00:02:51He can run and do the scram switches.
00:02:54All those things happen
00:02:55when he can play that rolemate position.
00:02:57And you have a big behind him
00:02:59that can block shots.
00:03:00Now you've got options.
00:03:01You go from having Draymond as the five
00:03:03to Draymond playing the four,
00:03:04and you have three bigs in the backside.
00:03:06You can have Kristaps, you can have Al,
00:03:08you can have Charles Bassey.
00:03:09You can play two bigs and Draymond at the three.
00:03:12I mean, these are all options
00:03:13that Steve Kerr can do,
00:03:14and this is why it's important.
00:03:15In the playoffs,
00:03:16you've got to be able to win different ways.
00:03:19And when you have these different lineups,
00:03:20now you can get,
00:03:21it's like an embarrassment of riches
00:03:22when you go from zero to now 100 for the Warriors.
00:03:26One other thing fits the bookie.
00:03:28Not only have we haven't seen it,
00:03:29moving forward,
00:03:30no opponent has seen these lineups either.
00:03:32So they're going to have a hard time
00:03:34preparing for this new lineup
00:03:35that we're about to see.
00:03:37And Mully, on the other side, too,
00:03:39you're talking about the defensive side.
00:03:40Mully, you're always talking about KYP.
00:03:42If you end up playing the Bladers,
00:03:43they're not a great three-point shooting team either.
00:03:45You can close out short to this Kings team.
00:03:47They're not a great three-point shooting team.
00:03:49Get some preparation for that play-in tournament.
00:03:50At least one of the teams,
00:03:51the Clippers shoot it better,
00:03:52but you know what I mean.
00:03:53Yeah, no question.
00:03:54I think, Booth,
00:03:55Booth, when you have bigs behind you,
00:03:57as a perimeter player,
00:03:58you're more confident.
00:03:59You can get up into guys,
00:04:01take away the three-point shot,
00:04:02just don't give up middle,
00:04:03and then force them into the shot-blocking,
00:04:06contested shots.
00:04:07I think it's going to really help them
00:04:08both offensively and defensively.
00:04:10All right, let's get ready
00:04:11for the dress rehearsal
00:04:12for the Golden State Warriors
00:04:13up for Sacramento fellas.
00:04:14Have a great call tonight
00:04:15up at the Golden One Center.
00:04:17Yeah, I mean,
00:04:18there's two games left in the season,
00:04:19but it feels like there's almost renewal
00:04:22because of the return to health
00:04:25and the talent
00:04:26that will be in the Warriors
00:04:27starting lineup tonight.
00:04:28So to me,
00:04:30you get here
00:04:30and you just start talking to people
00:04:32and you see them get ready,
00:04:33there's a purpose for the game tonight.
00:04:35We've been talking about preparation
00:04:37for a long time,
00:04:37but the Warriors definitely want
00:04:38to get some things done tonight.
00:04:40We've been with the players here,
00:04:42even just shaking their hands.
00:04:44The handshakes are a little firmer.
00:04:45You know what I mean?
00:04:45Everything just feels,
00:04:46you said the word purpose.
00:04:48I think that's a good way to put it.
00:04:49They're really trying to make sure,
00:04:51okay, we get to see each other,
00:04:52play with each other.
00:04:54This group,
00:04:54we haven't seen this starting lineup
00:04:56really all season,
00:04:57so can you execute?
00:04:59Can you find some flow?
00:05:00We're excited to see this.
00:05:01Yeah, can I interest you
00:05:03in a starting lineup
00:05:04of Steph Curry,
00:05:05Brandon Pachebski,
00:05:06Guy Santos,
00:05:07Draymond Green,
00:05:08and Christoph Sporzingis,
00:05:09our BMW Ultima performers.
00:05:12You can't just roll out Wednesday
00:05:13never having played together.
00:05:15That's what tonight is about.
00:05:16Yeah, you want to get
00:05:17at least one dress rehearsal.
00:05:18I think this is what
00:05:19this game is going to be.
00:05:21You always talk about
00:05:22taking care of the ball, right?
00:05:23You always talk about execution.
00:05:24We're going to see
00:05:25a lot of the same things
00:05:27we see from the Warriors
00:05:28when it comes to execution,
00:05:29like split action,
00:05:30ball screens,
00:05:31but also get a little unorthodox,
00:05:33go some off-ball stuff.
00:05:35Maybe you switch it up
00:05:36and have Steph set
00:05:37some back screens,
00:05:38Steph set a wide pin down
00:05:39for Porzingis,
00:05:40but I cannot wait
00:05:41to see Steph Curry
00:05:42and Porzingis work together
00:05:44because Draymond Green
00:05:45and Steph,
00:05:45that rapport has been built.
00:05:46We know what we're
00:05:47going to see there.
00:05:47They make beautiful music together,
00:05:49but Steph and Porzingis
00:05:50need to get cooking.
00:05:51So also when you get
00:05:52to the postseason,
00:05:53experience matters.
00:05:55Can I interest you
00:05:55in a bench group
00:05:56that has a huge number
00:05:58of playoff games
00:05:59under their belt?
00:06:00Our Kaiser Permanente
00:06:01teamwork in action,
00:06:03DeAnthony Melton,
00:06:04GP2,
00:06:05and Al Horford.
00:06:06Really,
00:06:07the bench all season
00:06:08has been a bright spot
00:06:09for the Warriors,
00:06:09but when you pair
00:06:11DeAnthony Melton's high IQ
00:06:13and Al Horford's high IQ
00:06:15and a GP2
00:06:16who can really play
00:06:17with and off of anybody,
00:06:19he's been proving that,
00:06:20especially lately.
00:06:21Rolling to the basket,
00:06:22you get Al Horford
00:06:23and his ability
00:06:24to expose people.
00:06:25You switch a small
00:06:25on to him.
00:06:26He is going in the post,
00:06:28right?
00:06:28He can pick and puff.
00:06:29So he's so versatile there.
00:06:30You feel really comfortable
00:06:32with those guys
00:06:32coming off the bench.
00:06:33You know who feels
00:06:34comfortable in this building?
00:06:35The guy who wears 30,
00:06:37averages almost 30
00:06:38every time he comes
00:06:39to Sacramento.
00:06:41Stephen Curry loves
00:06:42the Golden 1 Center.
00:06:44Whether it's 50 in a game
00:06:45seven or a play-in
00:06:47or a dress rehearsal
00:06:48for this postseason,
00:06:49bring on the Kings,
00:06:51bring on the Dubs
00:06:52as healthy as they've been.
00:06:54Bhatia and the guys
00:06:55are back in the studio
00:06:56coming up next.
00:07:08If you have Steph Curry
00:07:12on your team,
00:07:13I feel like you have a chance.
00:07:15Yeah, and as you're
00:07:16reestablishing yourself
00:07:16with these different rotations,
00:07:18make it an emphasis
00:07:19to take care of the basketball.
00:07:20You average 16 a game.
00:07:22That's the max.
00:07:24Try and get under that number.
00:07:25And then the bench
00:07:26should be super hyped.
00:07:29Got the vets on the bench now.
00:07:30So, interesting to see
00:07:31how it develops.
00:07:32Maybe you get GP2,
00:07:33Horford, Bassey,
00:07:35and D'Anthony Melton.
00:07:36Maybe you can get him
00:07:36rolling going into
00:07:37the play-in tournament
00:07:38as the Kings and Warriors
00:07:40get ready to tip off.
00:07:41Enjoy, everybody.
00:07:41Light them!
00:08:06Last two games of the year
00:08:08for the Golden State Warriors
00:08:09and a dress rehearsal
00:08:12for a play-in game
00:08:13that is scheduled
00:08:14for Wednesday night
00:08:15as they take on
00:08:16the Sacramento Kings
00:08:17for the fourth and final time
00:08:19this year.
00:08:20Tonight, it's sacks,
00:08:22Sunday in L.A.,
00:08:23and then either bring on
00:08:25the Blazers or Clippers,
00:08:26and we're going to know
00:08:27that opponent, Kalena,
00:08:28by the end of tonight
00:08:30because the Clippers
00:08:31and the Blazers
00:08:32are playing tonight
00:08:33in Portland.
00:08:34This is true.
00:08:36Everybody's looking forward
00:08:37to seeing if this Warriors
00:08:38starting lineup
00:08:39can find some flow.
00:08:40You said dress rehearsal
00:08:42will then rehearse,
00:08:44execute,
00:08:45attack the basket,
00:08:47find some flow,
00:08:48run your plays,
00:08:50pin downs,
00:08:51ball screens,
00:08:52split action,
00:08:52take care of the ball,
00:08:53and also prepare
00:08:54on the defensive side, too.
00:08:56This team is not a good
00:08:57three-point shooting team.
00:08:58They're 30th in the league.
00:08:59They're the 30th
00:08:59when it comes to attempts,
00:09:00too, when it comes to
00:09:01that three-point line,
00:09:02but they don't shoot it well,
00:09:04so close out short.
00:09:05If you end up playing
00:09:06the Blazers,
00:09:07they're not a good
00:09:07three-point shooting team,
00:09:08either.
00:09:08You got to make sure
00:09:09you close out short
00:09:10to take care of their driving
00:09:11and their penetration
00:09:12and see if you can limit that.
00:09:14See if you can limit that tonight.
00:09:16You're trying to prepare
00:09:17when it comes to
00:09:17every aspect of the game here.
00:09:19You just played the Kings
00:09:21earlier in the week,
00:09:21but that had Steph
00:09:22coming off the bench.
00:09:23Now you've got Porzingis,
00:09:25you got Guy Santos back.
00:09:27You're never going to get
00:09:28Jimmy Butler and Moses Moody
00:09:30this year, okay?
00:09:30They're out,
00:09:31but this is as healthy
00:09:33and as talented
00:09:34as this Warrior roster
00:09:35can be right now.
00:09:36So,
00:09:37Steph Curry starts
00:09:38with Brandon Pajemski,
00:09:40Guy Santos,
00:09:41Draymond Green,
00:09:41and Kristaps Porzingis.
00:09:48Steph out of the corner
00:09:49and three
00:09:50and that's exactly
00:09:51the beginning you would want.
00:09:52Immediately,
00:09:53Draymond set the screen
00:09:54and his defender
00:09:55just lost contact.
00:09:57Got to stay locked
00:09:58onto his body.
00:10:01Maxine Renault
00:10:02with pressure
00:10:02to a day-conflop.
00:10:04Neat Clifford
00:10:05and he got an offensive
00:10:06foul on the Kings.
00:10:08I think that was
00:10:09on Carter.
00:10:10A legal screen there
00:10:12or maybe it was
00:10:13Maxine Renault,
00:10:14but look at Steph Curry.
00:10:15You see where Achua
00:10:16was kind of
00:10:17trying to get out there
00:10:18and he had to go
00:10:19on the other side
00:10:20of that,
00:10:20but that was
00:10:20such a well-set screen.
00:10:22They had to switch it
00:10:23and they did it late.
00:10:25Porzingis losing the handle
00:10:27and the push ahead
00:10:29and Achua denied
00:10:31for Pajemski
00:10:32and Porzingis
00:10:33kind of sandwiched him there.
00:10:37Porzingis trailed three,
00:10:38dropping it in.
00:10:39That is exactly
00:10:40what the Warriors
00:10:41want to see.
00:10:41And Carter was on him
00:10:42who's like half his size,
00:10:44so he didn't even
00:10:45try to contest.
00:10:47The Warriors
00:10:47like that early offense
00:10:49though.
00:10:49Sometimes the matchups
00:10:50are kind of messed up,
00:10:52cross-matching.
00:10:53Plowden hit a couple
00:10:54threes the other night.
00:10:55He's got a little floater
00:10:58that drops
00:10:59and Daquan Plowden
00:11:00picks up a foul.
00:11:01They got movement
00:11:02into that last ball screen,
00:11:03so it made it much tougher
00:11:04and Porzingis
00:11:05was kind of
00:11:06in drop coverage there.
00:11:07Plowden just took it to him,
00:11:09but look at where Carter is.
00:11:10Carter didn't even
00:11:12try to get a hand up.
00:11:13He's on the other side
00:11:14of that three-point line
00:11:15and Porzingis
00:11:16loves to shoot those deep.
00:11:18He always likes to shoot
00:11:19a couple steps
00:11:20behind that three-point line.
00:11:22But Plowden,
00:11:23remember last time
00:11:23we saw them
00:11:24not too long ago,
00:11:25he had three threes
00:11:26like almost right away
00:11:28and then didn't make
00:11:28one after that.
00:11:29There's Doug Christie.
00:11:30So Doug Christie,
00:11:30they're not playing
00:11:31DeMar DeRozan
00:11:32or Westbrook,
00:11:33but he's got young guys
00:11:35that are playing hard.
00:11:36We saw that the other night
00:11:37in the Warrior victory
00:11:38that went right down
00:11:39to the wire.
00:11:39They've had to rely
00:11:40on their young guys.
00:11:41They've kind of had
00:11:42their own version
00:11:43of a what-if season.
00:11:45Savonis only playing
00:11:4619 games.
00:11:48DeSantos,
00:11:49Porzingis cut off of him,
00:11:51and then Porzingis
00:11:53missing there
00:11:53with Renault the rebound,
00:11:54but you saw Guy drive
00:11:56and then Porzingis
00:11:57cut off him,
00:11:58learning to play
00:11:59with each other
00:11:59a little bit.
00:12:03DeCliffer down the lane,
00:12:04dropping inside,
00:12:05and Carter denied
00:12:06but fouled.
00:12:07And DeCliffer
00:12:07did the right thing.
00:12:08He's kind of a two-way player,
00:12:10really good on the
00:12:11defensive side too,
00:12:12can be a secondary
00:12:13playmaker,
00:12:15obviously can put
00:12:16the ball on the floor.
00:12:17He saw Christoph
00:12:18Porzingis closing out
00:12:20to him.
00:12:20Got a big man
00:12:21closing out to you.
00:12:22You got that quickness
00:12:23that he has.
00:12:23He's going to get inside
00:12:24through that next defender
00:12:25and dish it to Carter.
00:12:27I think Warrior's
00:12:27going to challenge this.
00:12:29Are they?
00:12:30They're going to stop it
00:12:32with 10-16.
00:12:33It's Guy's second foul.
00:12:35Oh, no, they're not.
00:12:37And so an early timeout
00:12:38with the Warriors
00:12:39up 6-3.
00:12:40The area is brought to you
00:12:41by the Bay Area
00:12:43BMW Centers.
00:12:46Glenn and I drove up
00:12:47here today,
00:12:47crossed right over
00:12:48that bridge.
00:12:49He did.
00:12:50And the Warrior lead
00:12:51is three.
00:12:52They did challenge
00:12:53this foul.
00:12:54I was right.
00:12:55It's successful.
00:12:56It better be successful
00:12:57you challenge this
00:12:58early in the game,
00:12:59but watch right under
00:13:00the basket right there.
00:13:01Guy Santos got all ball.
00:13:03Carter was going up.
00:13:04He tried to play it up,
00:13:05but that's a successful
00:13:07challenge,
00:13:07so they'll get another one.
00:13:08And no imminent possession,
00:13:09so you may have
00:13:10a jump ball here.
00:13:12I would think so.
00:13:13So Jacob Rubin
00:13:14getting ready
00:13:14for the postseason.
00:13:15I know, right?
00:13:16Challenged that right away.
00:13:18I'm saying they felt
00:13:19so strongly about it.
00:13:20Usually you don't challenge
00:13:21this early in the game.
00:13:22The game just got started.
00:13:25But I think because
00:13:26they want to see
00:13:27this starting five,
00:13:28they don't want Guy
00:13:29to pick up a second foul.
00:13:31There's Jacob.
00:13:32He basically,
00:13:33he has the iPad
00:13:35and looks at about
00:13:36three angles
00:13:37as quick as possible.
00:13:38And then,
00:13:39if he's right,
00:13:40Steve says he takes
00:13:42all the credit.
00:13:43If he's wrong,
00:13:43he blames Jacob Rubin.
00:13:44Well, even in that clip,
00:13:45you could see it.
00:13:46He said it with his chest.
00:13:47He was feeling good
00:13:48about that one.
00:13:48Gave him a thumbs up.
00:13:50Challenged that right away.
00:13:51We'll get another one.
00:13:52Don't worry about it.
00:13:54Tony Brothers
00:13:54will have the announcement here.
00:13:56He's saying those
00:13:5732 years in the league.
00:13:58Here he is.
00:13:58He's about to get
00:13:59some good news.
00:13:59At the review,
00:14:01there is no illegal
00:14:02contact on the play.
00:14:03The defender hits the ball
00:14:05and the ball becomes loose.
00:14:06Therefore,
00:14:07the challenge is successful.
00:14:09Golden State loses
00:14:10the timeout
00:14:10due to the mandatory.
00:14:12Because of the loose ball,
00:14:13there will be a jump ball
00:14:14center serve
00:14:15for any two players.
00:14:16Golden State will retain
00:14:18the right to challenge
00:14:19for the rest of the game.
00:14:20And that is
00:14:21the treasure
00:14:22that is Tony Brothers
00:14:24in year 32
00:14:25with 216 playoff games,
00:14:2819 NBA Finals games,
00:14:30and hopefully
00:14:31the next mayor
00:14:32of Norfolk, Virginia.
00:14:33Yeah, he could be that.
00:14:34He showed some patience there.
00:14:35They're doing a lot of stuff
00:14:36in the arena.
00:14:36The Kings win the jump ball.
00:14:38But at least
00:14:39you don't have the foul
00:14:40on Key Santos.
00:14:43Precious of Chew and Renault
00:14:45have played so well
00:14:46since the All-Star break.
00:14:48They can be forwards
00:14:49that are difficult to deal with.
00:14:51Chew a little runner
00:14:52on the baseline.
00:14:53It's not only the 15 points
00:14:55of game, K,
00:14:55it's the efficiency
00:14:56he's shooting the ball with.
00:14:57He knows his game.
00:14:58He's not going to get out
00:14:59of pocket,
00:15:00even though Porzingis
00:15:00gapped in there
00:15:01like he should.
00:15:02He ate up the real estate
00:15:03and went floater.
00:15:04Got a little closer
00:15:05to the rim.
00:15:05Here comes the split action.
00:15:08DeSantos
00:15:09looking for Steph cutting.
00:15:11Okay, now right there
00:15:12that was deflected.
00:15:13It'll be Warrior ball
00:15:13but you saw Steph wanted
00:15:15Porzingis coming
00:15:16on the baseline.
00:15:16Well, yeah,
00:15:17he thought Porzingis
00:15:18was going to stay out.
00:15:19That time he juked
00:15:19Carter out of his socks,
00:15:21got to the rim.
00:15:21That next defender
00:15:22came over.
00:15:22Porzingis was thinking,
00:15:24okay, I'm going to cut
00:15:24to the basket.
00:15:25Steph was thinking,
00:15:27oh, I'm thinking
00:15:27he's going to stay out.
00:15:29So that's the rapport
00:15:30and the chemistry
00:15:30that's hopefully going to come
00:15:31from just this game.
00:15:33They're going to get better there.
00:15:35Shot clock at five
00:15:37and Draymond three
00:15:38is perfect.
00:15:40That almost didn't get there.
00:15:41It almost,
00:15:41Podinsky was looking back
00:15:42at the Warrior bench
00:15:44like, I almost forced
00:15:45a turnover there
00:15:46with my head on accident.
00:15:48But it got through somehow.
00:15:49Well, after 28 points
00:15:51off of turnovers last night
00:15:52against the Lakers,
00:15:53the Warriors
00:15:54don't want to see that again.
00:15:56Carter, a little bumper car
00:15:57move there to Renault
00:15:58with a good hands inside.
00:16:00I think Carter knew
00:16:01he was going to throw that
00:16:01to Renault the whole time.
00:16:03We were talking about
00:16:03before the game
00:16:04how things are,
00:16:05oh, Steph got picked.
00:16:07Steph not feeling good
00:16:09at the other end.
00:16:10That is wincing after that one.
00:16:11That is the last thing
00:16:12you want to see.
00:16:14Steph kind of walking it off
00:16:15in the front court.
00:16:17Raymond attacking
00:16:18in and out of the hands
00:16:19of Guy Santos.
00:16:20So you can see
00:16:20a little rust.
00:16:21This group has never
00:16:22played together.
00:16:23Yeah, Coach Curry
00:16:24is looking back
00:16:25like we need to get him out.
00:16:27Loudon will launch
00:16:28that high arcing three.
00:16:32I think Steve wants
00:16:34to check on Steph.
00:16:36He's running right now
00:16:37just to test it,
00:16:38see what it feels like,
00:16:39see if he can go
00:16:40adrenaline the rest of the game.
00:16:41Carter, did they knock knees?
00:16:44Warriors,
00:16:45they're going to take a look
00:16:46at Steph Curry down three.
00:16:50Brought to you by

00:16:53home of Pure Pricing.
00:16:54Whether it's online
00:16:56or in person with Pure Price,
00:16:57it's a win-win situation.
00:16:59Visit SubaruofOakland.com.
00:17:03Now in Sacramento,
00:17:05with the Kings ripping off
00:17:07seven unanswered,
00:17:08but you ended up having
00:17:10Steph Curry, I believe,
00:17:12knock knees with Devin Carter.
00:17:14He's taking a closer look
00:17:15at it, King.
00:17:16He's quick off the bench,
00:17:17so he wants to stay
00:17:18in the game,
00:17:19but watch that right knee.
00:17:20That's the one that's
00:17:21wrapped up.
00:17:21It looked like he clipped
00:17:23him there,
00:17:23and then the left one
00:17:25kind of behind
00:17:26on the way by
00:17:28as Carter ran by
00:17:29after he got this steal.
00:17:30So we're going to watch him
00:17:32the rest of the game,
00:17:33see if he's favoring
00:17:34either one of those knees,
00:17:35see how his gait is,
00:17:37how he's running,
00:17:38but he clearly wants to
00:17:40play his minutes
00:17:41in this game.
00:17:42He looked pretty good there
00:17:44running to the ball.
00:17:44He's got a little high step
00:17:45going here, too.
00:17:47Where's the wrap
00:17:49and kind of the padding,
00:17:50but catch that knee-to-knee,
00:17:52that's not a lot of fun.
00:17:55Carter knocking that away.
00:17:57It's the Warrior ball
00:17:58with nine to shoot.
00:17:59Draymond trying to force
00:18:00that one to him.
00:18:00Carter didn't keep his body
00:18:02in between step and the basket,
00:18:03so Draymond thought
00:18:04he could fit one in there.
00:18:05With Draymond,
00:18:06especially last game
00:18:06with the turnovers,
00:18:07you were talking about that,
00:18:08if he doesn't have
00:18:09anywhere to go,
00:18:10he's got to remember
00:18:11he can attack, too.
00:18:12Like, I want to see
00:18:13Michigan State Draymond
00:18:15Saginaw High
00:18:16attacking Draymond
00:18:17if he doesn't have
00:18:18anywhere to pass it to,
00:18:19because he's so great
00:18:20at making passes.
00:18:21He loves making
00:18:21his teammates better,
00:18:22but sometimes you can
00:18:23attack and then pass
00:18:24as you go Giesel there.
00:18:26The Giesel for Guy Santos.
00:18:28Perfect deceleration
00:18:29and then flipped it in.
00:18:31God, just brake pads
00:18:32off that one foot.
00:18:34It's good to see
00:18:35his lower extremities
00:18:36look good.
00:18:36Yeah, remember,
00:18:36he's been dealing
00:18:37with the pelvic contusion.
00:18:39Achua, now,
00:18:40this is,
00:18:42defensively,
00:18:42there's too many
00:18:43Renault Achua
00:18:44scoring inside early.
00:18:46Those little push shots.
00:18:49Djemski off-iron,
00:18:50Achua inhales the rebound.
00:18:51And I'll say it before,
00:18:52before I was interrupted,
00:18:53all these bigs nowadays
00:18:54are watching Jokic, right,
00:18:56and his touch inside
00:18:57and all the flip shots inside,
00:18:58so they're all trying
00:18:59to add that to their games.
00:19:02There, Achua,
00:19:02to shoot that three,
00:19:04and that's what Kalena
00:19:05had mentioned.
00:19:05And this is not
00:19:06a good three-point
00:19:06shooting team at all.
00:19:09On Sacramento to live there.
00:19:11Okay, so that's
00:19:12the fourth Warrior turnover.
00:19:14And early in the clock,
00:19:15Draymond trying to force
00:19:16it to Steph
00:19:17and Carter is ready for it.
00:19:18And Carter is top-blocking him,
00:19:19but he's also got
00:19:20a little more length
00:19:21than you would think,
00:19:22so Draymond's trying
00:19:22to force those
00:19:23as Steph is going backdoor,
00:19:25but maybe get a tiny bit
00:19:27more separation
00:19:28before you go backdoor
00:19:29and then Draymond
00:19:29has to wait for that.
00:19:30Porzingis is doubled.
00:19:31He finds Draymond right away.
00:19:33Swing, swing,
00:19:34Podjemski, perfect.
00:19:35So Porzingis is going to draw
00:19:37a lot of attention
00:19:37when he's in the lane.
00:19:39He's an advantage creator.
00:19:41Matchup nightmare.
00:19:42I like that advantage creator.
00:19:44Teams feel like
00:19:44they have to double-team.
00:19:46You can get some great
00:19:47offense out of there.
00:19:48Great-looking shots.
00:19:51Carter and Renaud
00:19:52working together.
00:19:53Carter had it knocked away.
00:19:54Porzingis, good hands.
00:19:57DeSantos running with friends.
00:20:00Podjemski taking his time,
00:20:02sets his feet.
00:20:03Bottoms another three.
00:20:05Podjemski went Giesel again
00:20:07and got his teammate
00:20:08another wide-open three.
00:20:10So, Warriors,
00:20:11since the last timeout,
00:20:13pretty good run here.
00:20:14Last nine games,
00:20:16Pods has 20 or more.
00:20:17Six of those nine
00:20:18back-to-back threes
00:20:19in the Kings take time.
00:20:2120 or more
00:20:22and six of the last nine,
00:20:24but really,
00:20:24since March?
00:20:26Okay,
00:20:26these are great numbers
00:20:27for the only Warrior player
00:20:29that's played in every game
00:20:31this year.
00:20:31He'll absolutely take that.
00:20:32And his three ball is working,
00:20:34so that's opened up his driving.
00:20:35He's getting to the free throw line
00:20:37much better.
00:20:38We talked about Warriors
00:20:39being in preparation mode.
00:20:40like he usually messes up
00:20:42our hair before we do our open.
00:20:44He messed it up even more
00:20:45at this game, right?
00:20:45There's just more purpose
00:20:47to everything.
00:20:47Killian Hayes missing there.
00:20:49Draymond good box
00:20:49out of the rebound.
00:20:51The Anthony Melton
00:20:51and Al Horford checking in
00:20:53with GP2,
00:20:55Steph,
00:20:55and Draymond.
00:20:55So,
00:20:56we talked about
00:20:56this three-man bench unit
00:20:58that could play
00:20:59with the Hall of Famers.
00:21:01And you see that Warrior
00:21:02eight-man rotation on display.
00:21:03That one knocked out of bounds.
00:21:05So,
00:21:05this is the Kings strategy,
00:21:06clearly.
00:21:07They want to top block
00:21:08Steph as much as possible
00:21:09and then just try to reach in
00:21:10and break up the pass.
00:21:11And they've gotten
00:21:12a good amount of deflections
00:21:13that way.
00:21:14They've forced turnovers
00:21:14that way.
00:21:15So,
00:21:15again,
00:21:16trying to get a little more
00:21:17separation when you're
00:21:18going backdoor.
00:21:19And then the passer
00:21:20has to kind of wait
00:21:21until they're wide open.
00:21:22Steph sets a great screen.
00:21:23Oh, blocked.
00:21:24And it blocked it.
00:21:25Wow.
00:21:25Ricochets out to Al Horford.
00:21:28Trying to trade three for two
00:21:29but missing that three.
00:21:31I thought he had
00:21:32a wide open layup there.
00:21:34Wonderfully executed
00:21:35out of bounds play,
00:21:35but the Kings save it
00:21:36with the blocked shot.
00:21:37Achua.
00:21:38Instant offense.
00:21:39Malik Monk
00:21:40right on cue.
00:21:41Hits a three.
00:21:43The man is always live.
00:21:45Yeah,
00:21:46they're letting all their
00:21:47young rookies
00:21:48and second year guys cook,
00:21:50but Malik Monk
00:21:51comes in the game
00:21:52and he's like,
00:21:52you know,
00:21:52I got to do what I got to do.
00:21:54You never like it
00:21:55when he hits his first shot.
00:21:56He's one of the streakiest
00:21:57players in the league.
00:21:58The pass to Al Horford
00:21:59and missing that layup.
00:22:02Killian Hayes
00:22:03with that strong left hand
00:22:04and he will draw the foul
00:22:05on the drive.
00:22:06Warriors were looking
00:22:07for that cut there,
00:22:10exploiting that switch
00:22:11for Al Horford.
00:22:11Good to see him back,
00:22:13but, you know,
00:22:14this is the blocked shot.
00:22:16GP2 just knew
00:22:17he had a wide open layup.
00:22:19He was looking
00:22:20at the official like,
00:22:20wait,
00:22:20that's not anything?
00:22:21That's not a goaltend?
00:22:22And that's the three
00:22:23from Malik Monk.
00:22:25But the Warriors,
00:22:26like,
00:22:27you got Al Horford
00:22:29missing that layup inside.
00:22:30It was a tough layup,
00:22:31but if you think about it,
00:22:32all season the Warriors
00:22:33have actually been pretty good
00:22:34when they get in
00:22:35the restricted circle.
00:22:36They're actually fifth
00:22:37in the league there
00:22:37shooting percentage.
00:22:39Killian Hayes
00:22:39hitting that first free throw.
00:22:41Romeo Santos,
00:22:42Prince Roy
00:22:42are coming to Chase Center
00:22:44Thursday, May 14th.
00:22:45Get your tickets
00:22:46at ChaseCenter.com.
00:22:48Relation to Tim Roy,
00:22:49that's the question
00:22:50on Al Horford, no?
00:22:51I don't think so.
00:22:52Okay.
00:22:52But remember last year
00:22:53when the Warriors
00:22:54were struggling,
00:22:54especially before Jimmy got here,
00:22:55when the Warriors
00:22:56were struggling to finish
00:22:57all the time,
00:22:57the fact that this year
00:22:58they've actually been good
00:22:59when they get inside,
00:23:00when they drive in there,
00:23:01drive in the dish.
00:23:02See, so Steph,
00:23:03the distributor,
00:23:04Horford or Porzingis
00:23:06having a five
00:23:06that can go out
00:23:07to the three-point line,
00:23:08it's just a different
00:23:09weapon for the Doves.
00:23:10You're going to get
00:23:11wide-open shots
00:23:12with Steph driving in there.
00:23:14They've got to pay
00:23:14attention to him.
00:23:15Kalina has had it
00:23:16knocked away,
00:23:16got it back.
00:23:18Malik Monk
00:23:18with a shot clock at 10.
00:23:20Curry pressuring him
00:23:21out top.
00:23:22That actually looks
00:23:22pretty good.
00:23:24Malik Monk inside.
00:23:26That's a tough bucket.
00:23:27But Malik Monk,
00:23:28you could tell
00:23:29he was of the mindset
00:23:29to test Steph,
00:23:31and Curry.
00:23:32GP2.
00:23:33The wide receiver,
00:23:34GP2,
00:23:35he goes long
00:23:35all the time.
00:23:36But he sealed his man
00:23:38basically like
00:23:38right there
00:23:39at the top of the key
00:23:40in between there
00:23:41and the free throw line
00:23:41and got some separation
00:23:43that time.
00:23:45So they grew up
00:23:45to the top.
00:23:46Gary would have been
00:23:46a good football player.
00:23:48Chua missing there,
00:23:49ricochet,
00:23:50good hands,
00:23:50Al Horford.
00:23:52GP2 is a wide receiver
00:23:53or a DB.
00:23:55I would have liked
00:23:56to have seen that.
00:23:56And he's longer
00:23:57than you think too,
00:23:58not just the good hands.
00:24:01Horford on the roll.
00:24:03Horford,
00:24:03nice reverse.
00:24:04You got the switch
00:24:05there again.
00:24:06You got the switch
00:24:06there again.
00:24:07Chua stayed up.
00:24:08Oh,
00:24:08step with the steal.
00:24:10So Curry,
00:24:11the extra opportunity
00:24:12for the doves.
00:24:19Run of the weave.
00:24:21Little dribble handoff.
00:24:23Step missing the three,
00:24:24but you like that play.
00:24:25The good creation
00:24:26up top.
00:24:27Oh my God.
00:24:31To a little push shot.
00:24:33Renaud with the rebound.
00:24:35Shot clock at 11.
00:24:36Malik Monk's been
00:24:37the hot king
00:24:38and dropped in another one.
00:24:39So I said when he hits
00:24:41his first shot,
00:24:42Malik Monk is
00:24:42three for three now.
00:24:44That's what happens
00:24:45when you don't corral
00:24:46the defensive rebound
00:24:47and you're a little
00:24:48late reacting
00:24:49on the live Malik Monk.
00:24:53Finding Steph,
00:24:54missing that three.
00:24:57The Warriors are
00:24:58nine of 16.
00:24:59The Kings are
00:24:59nine of 17.
00:25:04Reload triple
00:25:05and another one down.
00:25:07We have seen this movie
00:25:09before with Malik Monk.
00:25:12Microwave score,
00:25:13the definition of it.
00:25:15Warriors have to find it,
00:25:17not let him get it off.
00:25:21The Cremont open three.
00:25:23A short off front iron.
00:25:24Two guys have stayed
00:25:26with Steph there.
00:25:30This is one.
00:25:31Find Malik Monk
00:25:32and deny him the ball.
00:25:33They double teamed.
00:25:35Now they go right back
00:25:36to Monk for another three.
00:25:38And the Warriors
00:25:38are fortunate.
00:25:39This was his most open.
00:25:41He had scored eight straight.
00:25:42Because he's on the weak side,
00:25:43Warriors almost forgot about it.
00:25:45And there was a pinning
00:25:45screen there too
00:25:46to make it tougher.
00:25:51Horford on Malik Monk.
00:25:53And now there you go.
00:25:55Nice.
00:25:55See, Al can post up
00:25:57and score, right?
00:25:57With a smaller defender on him.
00:25:59It's perfect.
00:25:59Anytime he's got
00:26:00a much smaller guy on him,
00:26:01you've got to give him the ball.
00:26:03That double team
00:26:04comes from the baseline.
00:26:05You pass it to the baseline.
00:26:07So the shock troop's
00:26:09coming in now,
00:26:10but that's an extended run
00:26:13there for Steph and Graymon.
00:26:14And we were talking
00:26:15to Al Horford about this
00:26:16and I told him,
00:26:17like, one of my favorite
00:26:18things about your game
00:26:19is you post up
00:26:20and you're not afraid
00:26:21to post up.
00:26:22He's been in the league
00:26:22a long time.
00:26:23He's seen the three-ball wave
00:26:24come and more and more
00:26:26big shooting threes
00:26:26as Steph gets a break.
00:26:28It looked pretty good
00:26:29after, you know,
00:26:30he got his legs back under him
00:26:32after that little time
00:26:32out there.
00:26:33He tested it.
00:26:34He understands it.
00:26:35It's kind of the new normal
00:26:36for him.
00:26:36I want to echo something
00:26:37you said, Cain,
00:26:38have you expand on it.
00:26:39Graymon's got to be
00:26:40live offensively.
00:26:41He's got five points.
00:26:42That cut right there
00:26:43is a perfect example.
00:26:44That's what I'm saying.
00:26:45Like, last game,
00:26:46he kind of got into
00:26:47pass mode
00:26:48and just got stuck
00:26:49there a little bit.
00:26:50And you can be a threat
00:26:52and be active
00:26:53and attack
00:26:54and Warriors
00:26:54forced to miss there
00:26:55and got the rebound.
00:26:56So Charles Bassey in
00:26:58with Guy Santos,
00:26:59Pajemski,
00:27:00Pat Spencer,
00:27:01and Porzingis.
00:27:02Again, after the drive,
00:27:03the pass becomes more clear.
00:27:05So Pajs
00:27:06trying to get it back
00:27:07to Bassey.
00:27:08Reflected away.
00:27:08Nick Clifford
00:27:10putting it up and in.
00:27:14All right, so
00:27:16we understand the turnovers.
00:27:17We've got to
00:27:18watch that number
00:27:19the whole game.
00:27:20Now Porzingis,
00:27:21he has McDermott out
00:27:23and he can shoot
00:27:23right over him.
00:27:24And the Kings
00:27:25are just fortunate
00:27:25that rimmed out.
00:27:30this has been a good
00:27:32first quarter
00:27:33for a lot of
00:27:34different challenges
00:27:35offensively,
00:27:37defensively.
00:27:37Bassey met
00:27:38Clifford up top
00:27:39but not securing
00:27:40the rebound
00:27:40so Bassey blocks
00:27:41the shot.
00:27:43Bassey,
00:27:44he was great too
00:27:45against the Lakers.
00:27:45As soon as he came in
00:27:46he was dobbling up
00:27:47rebounds like it was
00:27:48his job.
00:27:49And it is.
00:27:50So there's Porzingis
00:27:51that time fouled.
00:27:52Smaller defender.
00:27:52Twice they went
00:27:54after McDermott
00:27:54on the other end
00:27:55and that's the kind
00:27:56of stuff you do
00:27:56in the playoffs.
00:27:57I think you've got
00:27:57to be stubborn about it.
00:27:58That's the advantage
00:27:59you've created.
00:28:01Especially,
00:28:01that's why the Warriors
00:28:03want to get out
00:28:03early offense
00:28:04in transition.
00:28:05Sometimes they don't
00:28:05have time to match up
00:28:06the way they would
00:28:07really like to.
00:28:08Look at Bassey.
00:28:09The first you don't
00:28:10succeed try again
00:28:11Nick Clifford is thinking
00:28:12and Bassey has other ideas.
00:28:14But Porzingis,
00:28:15especially in that
00:28:16mid post area
00:28:16because it's so hard
00:28:17to double the offensive
00:28:19player when they get
00:28:20the ball around that
00:28:21you know free throw line
00:28:22in the middle of the court
00:28:23because they can see
00:28:24right over the top
00:28:24and if you come
00:28:25they can just pass it
00:28:26to your man.
00:28:26I like what you said Kay.
00:28:28When you have a mismatch
00:28:29sometimes you've got
00:28:29to be stubborn about it.
00:28:30Absolutely.
00:28:31You know,
00:28:31hey where is our advantage?
00:28:33Where are we going to?
00:28:34And then when they double
00:28:35then you can play off
00:28:36of it.
00:28:36True.
00:28:36And especially
00:28:37in that play-in tournament
00:28:39game whether it's
00:28:39the Blazers or the Clippers
00:28:41they have some great
00:28:42defenders.
00:28:43Even more so
00:28:44against a great
00:28:45defensive team.
00:28:45Find the weak spots.
00:28:46Find the mismatches
00:28:48and be stubborn about it.
00:28:49Keep feeding Porzingis.
00:28:50Let him find some rhythm
00:28:52because if he knows
00:28:53you're going to keep
00:28:53coming to him
00:28:54and he's going to keep
00:28:54getting shots
00:28:55and he's going to
00:28:56find his rhythm
00:28:57eventually.
00:28:58Doug McDermott
00:28:59you've got to find him
00:29:00missing that three
00:29:01and Santos
00:29:02headed the other way.
00:29:03Final minute of play
00:29:04here in the first.
00:29:07Porzingis
00:29:07the step back three.
00:29:11Nick Clifford
00:29:11with the rebound
00:29:12and here comes Killian
00:29:13Hayes
00:29:13into the frontcourt
00:29:14and Cardwell
00:29:14is an agile big two.
00:29:16You saw it there
00:29:16Norton Porzingis.
00:29:19Clifford
00:29:19catch and shoot three.
00:29:21That's a nice box out
00:29:22by Guy Santos.
00:29:23Get Cardwell
00:29:23out of there
00:29:24so Pat Spencer
00:29:25can come get it.
00:29:26I think he heard me
00:29:27say that about Cardwell.
00:29:28He's like
00:29:28I've got to put a body
00:29:29in this guy.
00:29:31About a seven second
00:29:32game shot clock
00:29:33difference
00:29:33winding down
00:29:34the first quarter.
00:29:35You like how the Warriors
00:29:36have shot it at 50%.
00:29:38McDermott on Porzingis.
00:29:40Bassey trying to go
00:29:41big to big
00:29:42just give it to him.
00:29:43I hear Coletta say
00:29:44get stubborn.
00:29:45That one off fire.
00:29:47Porzingis
00:29:47he wants that one back.
00:29:49Final four seconds
00:29:50for Malik Monk
00:29:51and you know
00:29:52Pajemski's always aware
00:29:53that you have a foul
00:29:54to give.
00:29:57Smart.
00:29:58And why do you give it
00:29:59so Monk
00:30:00who's in rhythm
00:30:01doesn't rise up
00:30:02for a three.
00:30:02And they kind of
00:30:03had numbers there.
00:30:04He was feeling good.
00:30:06Transition.
00:30:06And he made sure
00:30:07he made a play
00:30:08on the ball too
00:30:09so you're not
00:30:09danger of getting
00:30:10a take foul.
00:30:12So all around
00:30:13pretty well played
00:30:14even though Sack
00:30:15has the lead
00:30:15but it's not as much
00:30:17about wins and losses
00:30:18right now.
00:30:18It's just prepare.
00:30:20Prepare.
00:30:20Sharpen up.
00:30:21Find some flow.
00:30:222.3.
00:30:23McDermott trying
00:30:23to get it back.
00:30:24Cardwell's going
00:30:24to shoot a three.
00:30:25Can't drop it in.
00:30:27So Dylan Cardwell
00:30:29couldn't get it
00:30:30to McDermott.
00:30:31Ends up hitting
00:30:32his second three
00:30:33of the year.
00:30:35So credit the Kings.
00:30:37They put up 32.
00:30:38You like some
00:30:39of the Warrior
00:30:40offensive movement
00:30:41but defensively
00:30:42a little work to do.
00:30:45So the first
00:30:4612 minutes
00:30:47in the books
00:30:48and the dress rehearsal
00:30:51Sacramento's got
00:30:51the five-point advantage
00:30:53at the end of one.
00:30:59of the game.
00:31:00Give the kid the chain
00:31:00and the medallion.
00:31:02The Warriors shop
00:31:03item of the game.
00:31:04It is 30% off
00:31:05the cream two-tone
00:31:07950 hat from New Era.
00:31:09I think the dad
00:31:10was saying
00:31:10it's too heavy
00:31:10for my son's neck.
00:31:12It's shop.warriors.com.
00:31:14Use that code
00:31:14and IOTG 30
00:31:15get 30% off.
00:31:17You give the kid
00:31:18the option.
00:31:19Here's the chain
00:31:19and the medallion
00:31:21and Cardwell
00:31:22couldn't quite catch that.
00:31:23The Warriors fortunate.
00:31:24That would have been a dunk.
00:31:26The rim play defense
00:31:27that time.
00:31:30How about this?
00:31:31Steph Curry
00:31:32in the first quarter
00:31:33plays 9 minutes
00:31:34and 49 seconds.
00:31:35Gets the superstar rest
00:31:37and now he's starting
00:31:38the second quarter.
00:31:39This is how you're simulating
00:31:40what a play-in
00:31:41play-off game
00:31:42would feel like.
00:31:43Yeah, he's saying
00:31:44I'm not going to let
00:31:44a little knee-to-knee action
00:31:46take me out of this game.
00:31:48We have a purpose
00:31:49for this game.
00:31:50We want to get
00:31:50something done.
00:31:52But you think about
00:31:53this Kings team.
00:31:55I talked about how
00:31:57okay, there's
00:31:57injuries.
00:31:58You got
00:31:59Zach Levine's
00:32:00missed half the season.
00:32:03DeAndre Hunter's
00:32:04been out.
00:32:04It's kind of been just
00:32:05okay, what would have
00:32:07happened if we had
00:32:08everybody?
00:32:08The one thing I think
00:32:09they'll be looking for
00:32:09this summer is shooting
00:32:10though besides what you
00:32:11said, the cornerstone
00:32:12piece in the draft.
00:32:14You can't not have
00:32:15any three-point attack
00:32:16in this game.
00:32:17They're actually
00:32:18five for 12.
00:32:19So this is, you know.
00:32:21They got to get a
00:32:21healthy D'Amato
00:32:22Sabonis back too.
00:32:23Exactly.
00:32:24The work inside.
00:32:26This is the D2.
00:32:27Rand McDermott off the
00:32:28line.
00:32:28Shot clock at two.
00:32:30Malik Monk has no
00:32:31problem creating his
00:32:32shot, beating the buzzer.
00:32:33But Guy Santos,
00:32:34great defense.
00:32:34Now there is 24 seconds
00:32:36of Warrior D.
00:32:37On-ball defense.
00:32:38Moving your feet.
00:32:40Melton had hit a couple
00:32:41free throws.
00:32:42D'Anthony Melton all the
00:32:43way to the rim.
00:32:43Get D'Anthony Melton going
00:32:45again.
00:32:46Game before last when he
00:32:47played this Kings team,
00:32:48he played really well.
00:32:4921 points.
00:32:50Killian Hayes got into
00:32:51the body of Guy Santos.
00:32:53Again, this is the
00:32:54preparation you're looking
00:32:54for if you're guarding
00:32:56Killian Hayes and you
00:32:57know he's got that F1
00:32:58speed and he wants to
00:32:59drive.
00:32:59See if you can back up a
00:33:00little more.
00:33:01You got that good screen
00:33:02there for D'Anthony
00:33:03Melton.
00:33:04Get him going to the rim.
00:33:05And that's a lot of what
00:33:07happened last time he
00:33:08played the Kings.
00:33:08The last game against the
00:33:09Lakers, two points.
00:33:10He was kind of out of
00:33:11rhythm here.
00:33:11Get him going again.
00:33:12So you said that
00:33:13perfectly.
00:33:14If that's Scoot
00:33:15Henderson, you're playing
00:33:16him for the drive.
00:33:18So Killian Hayes, like
00:33:19these are things for
00:33:21whether it's important
00:33:21or the Clippers will
00:33:22know tonight that you
00:33:23got to use tonight.
00:33:24And it is a little
00:33:25tougher when it comes to
00:33:26early offense transition.
00:33:28It's just trying to run
00:33:29back and it's hard to
00:33:30think about, okay, let
00:33:30me run back and also
00:33:31gap a guy that's like
00:33:33bearing down on me and
00:33:34going full speed.
00:33:35He did kind of change
00:33:36his pace up a little bit
00:33:37there.
00:33:37But you know he wants to
00:33:39get to the rim.
00:33:39So just mentally, you
00:33:41have to be prepared to
00:33:42be able to move your
00:33:43feet and back up as
00:33:44much as possible.
00:33:46Not just back up in a
00:33:49super crazy way where he
00:33:50just gets a running
00:33:51start and it's kind of
00:33:52like a fast break
00:33:52opportunity, but back up
00:33:53to where you can use
00:33:54your length still and
00:33:55makes it easier to move
00:33:56your feet.
00:33:58So Hayes hitting a
00:34:00couple free throws.
00:34:01And then Monk blocking
00:34:03steps three.
00:34:05Anticipated that nicely.
00:34:06Here comes Melton with
00:34:08the steal.
00:34:09He traveled first.
00:34:11He couldn't stop his
00:34:12momentum.
00:34:13He wanted the Warriors to
00:34:14counterattack so badly
00:34:15he forgot to put the ball
00:34:16on the floor.
00:34:17You can still dribble.
00:34:19But it's good on him to
00:34:22hustle back.
00:34:22This doesn't happen very
00:34:23often.
00:34:24Give Malik Monk credit.
00:34:25He just anticipates it.
00:34:26He almost jumped before
00:34:27Steph even jumped.
00:34:28So he knew that was
00:34:29coming.
00:34:30Well, Malik Monk has 11
00:34:31points.
00:34:32He is active in the game.
00:34:34VP2 and Melton combine on
00:34:35another steal.
00:34:36It's the ball pressure and
00:34:38then Anthony Melton being
00:34:39alert and ready.
00:34:40You know, you were talking
00:34:42with Chris Mullin on
00:34:42Warrior Pre Game Live.
00:34:43When you've got somebody
00:34:44like Porzingis as a rim
00:34:46protector, Melton and GP2
00:34:48can space out on the wings
00:34:50and get in those passing
00:34:51lanes.
00:34:52Warriors turn it over again.
00:34:53Cardwell just peeled off of
00:34:55it as soon as he knew
00:34:55Steph was by him.
00:34:56He kind of knew he was
00:34:57going that loud.
00:34:58With Cardwell being fouled,
00:35:00Porzingis was backing up
00:35:02so he wouldn't get
00:35:04posterized.
00:35:05That was an all-out aerial
00:35:08assault, potentially, and
00:35:11they weren't able to
00:35:11complete it.
00:35:12If you look at Malik Monk,
00:35:13that's the perfect angle
00:35:14right there.
00:35:15He could have just gone
00:35:15straight to the rim because
00:35:17Porzingis was anticipating
00:35:18that pass.
00:35:18He was backing up.
00:35:19He might have been able to
00:35:20go in there and dunk one,
00:35:21but he decided to give it
00:35:22to Cardwell.
00:35:23He was going for the
00:35:24highlight reel pass.
00:35:26Bill Cardwell was
00:35:27undrafted out of five
00:35:28years at Auburn.
00:35:29You can take the Warriors
00:35:31on the go and stream the
00:35:32games on the NBC Sports
00:35:33app brought to you by
00:35:34Toyota.
00:35:34You can stream it one more
00:35:36time Sunday at 530, our
00:35:39final broadcast of the
00:35:40year from L.A.
00:35:43Cardwell missed both
00:35:44free throws.
00:35:46He is only a 53% free
00:35:49thrower, so don't let him
00:35:50dunk.
00:35:54Staff with Draymond
00:35:55Porzingis, GP2 in
00:35:56Melton.
00:36:01Porzingis on Killian Hayes.
00:36:03The bigger man going to
00:36:05shoot right over him.
00:36:06Warriors are getting
00:36:07Porzingis good shots.
00:36:08He dives on the deck, and
00:36:10you don't mind the jump
00:36:10ball at 7-2.
00:36:12The one thing Killian Hayes
00:36:13did, even though he's a
00:36:14smaller defender, he at
00:36:15least made Porzingis shoot
00:36:17it from a little further
00:36:17out.
00:36:18It was kind of awkward, but
00:36:19you're going to get a
00:36:20chance at this jump ball.
00:36:21But I do like that the
00:36:22Warriors are looking for KP
00:36:23anytime he's got a smaller
00:36:24guy on him.
00:36:25Get a little step back
00:36:26there.
00:36:27Then here's a scramble after
00:36:28he missed it short.
00:36:30He got on the floor.
00:36:31Give him some credit there.
00:36:32Get some floor burn in your
00:36:34life.
00:36:34Now, you've got to win this
00:36:35jump ball because you still
00:36:37have the size advantage.
00:36:38And he does easily.
00:36:40See, two men jump and
00:36:42step.
00:36:42The Kings, as Porzingis has
00:36:44that batted back.
00:36:45The Kings are sending
00:36:46multiple bodies at Curry.
00:36:49And that time Cardinal read
00:36:50the lob perfectly.
00:36:54And GP2, what a beautiful
00:36:56play.
00:36:57Knocking that out of bounds.
00:36:58You've got to give the
00:36:58Kings credit.
00:36:59They think that Monk
00:37:01touched this last.
00:37:03They're clearly not in the
00:37:04playoff picture.
00:37:05They're just playing to
00:37:06finish strong.
00:37:07And Monk did touch it
00:37:08last.
00:37:08He did touch it last.
00:37:09They will correct this
00:37:09call.
00:37:11Yeah, the Kings are
00:37:12anticipating really well.
00:37:14That last Porzingis one,
00:37:15they pinballed blocked
00:37:16that one.
00:37:16And then Cardwell just
00:37:18anticipated that they were
00:37:19going to lob it back up to
00:37:20him.
00:37:20So the Warriors got to get
00:37:21a little more creative
00:37:22here.
00:37:23I think pump fakes might
00:37:24work for guys that are
00:37:25jumping all the time.
00:37:29GP2, maybe lefty hook is
00:37:31good.
00:37:33Here's the creativity
00:37:34of the finish.
00:37:37There's Cardwell.
00:37:39Off the McDermott miss.
00:37:40He told you he's bouncy,
00:37:42man.
00:37:42This is what Cardwell does.
00:37:43He's kind of raw if you
00:37:45want to just give him the
00:37:46ball and let him go back
00:37:47to the basket, make a
00:37:48move, get us a bucket.
00:37:49He's not that guy yet,
00:37:50but he can rebound, he can
00:37:52run the floor, he's bouncy,
00:37:54he can block shots, he's a
00:37:55presence inside.
00:37:56They're just holding on to
00:37:57Curry off the ball.
00:37:58This is the stuff that
00:38:00pleads in the play-in.
00:38:02Whether the league ever
00:38:03starts to look at this,
00:38:05Killian Hayes has Steph
00:38:06Curry in a full bear hug.
00:38:08That's not basketball
00:38:09anymore.
00:38:10And this is more evident with
00:38:11Steph because he moves so
00:38:13much more off the ball than
00:38:14anyone we've ever seen.
00:38:15But Killian Hayes switched
00:38:16on to him, Steph set the
00:38:17screen, and he's just
00:38:19trying to hold on to him
00:38:20there.
00:38:20going to hold on to a guy?
00:38:21I mean, he finally called a
00:38:22foul.
00:38:22I've actually seen it way
00:38:24more egregious at times.
00:38:26Like, this guy's holding
00:38:26on to him.
00:38:27At that time, they finally
00:38:28called it.
00:38:30Cardwell banging that one,
00:38:31and Porzingis, he followed
00:38:33it home.
00:38:35Well, Cardwell, two guys were
00:38:37occupied with Guy Santos
00:38:38inside as he's trying to
00:38:39finish.
00:38:39So, KP's like, well, let me
00:38:41make myself useful.
00:38:42Look at Cardwell up top.
00:38:44He's going to come down.
00:38:45He was on Porzingis.
00:38:46Porzingis just follows it
00:38:47right up and goes back up
00:38:49with it.
00:38:50So, that's the right
00:38:50approach.
00:38:51But it's so important that
00:38:52the Curry-holds off-ball
00:38:54are called because then
00:38:56they will stop or they will
00:38:58be called and put the
00:38:59Warriors in the bonus.
00:39:00For sure.
00:39:00Because teams are going
00:39:01to keep holding Steph until
00:39:03the whistle stops them from
00:39:04doing it.
00:39:04That's what I was going to
00:39:05say.
00:39:05If I'm on defense and I'm
00:39:07trying to deal with Steph,
00:39:08sometimes I'm going to look
00:39:08to hold him and see what I
00:39:10can get away with, see if I
00:39:11can pull a jersey here or
00:39:12there.
00:39:12But the officials are trying
00:39:13to go, okay, what's
00:39:14incidental and what's
00:39:16stopping his movement, like
00:39:17freedom of movement.
00:39:18And a lot of times it's not
00:39:20easy to tell, you know.
00:39:22I'm just saying, if
00:39:23Shea Gilchrist-Alexander's
00:39:24held around the waist, they
00:39:26don't look the other way for
00:39:2710 seconds.
00:39:30Yeah, they let...
00:39:30And Steph Curry for...
00:39:31They let a lot more...
00:39:33Oh, my goodness.
00:39:34Oh, see Clifford all the
00:39:35way down the lane.
00:39:36And Clifford dunking it
00:39:38down.
00:39:38I told you he was bouncy.
00:39:41You sleep on him, he'll punch
00:39:43on you quick.
00:39:45Well, I think it's beautiful
00:39:46feed to Steph.
00:39:47And then he couldn't quite
00:39:48finish that on the spin.
00:39:50The Kings are really working
00:39:51together defensively, moving
00:39:52on string.
00:39:52One guy gets feed, another
00:39:53guy's there to help.
00:39:54And Berman, an air ball goes
00:39:56to the offense.
00:39:57Bell to pass down the lane.
00:39:59And Clifford bouncing it up
00:40:02and in.
00:40:02Beautiful finish there.
00:40:03The second chance points are
00:40:0512-3.
00:40:06Warriors are really struggling
00:40:07in the defensive rebound.
00:40:08It's the Kings final home
00:40:10game.
00:40:11You can tell the energy they're
00:40:12playing with, except Melton
00:40:14hits a three.
00:40:15And the Warriors are right
00:40:16with them.
00:40:17They just want to feel good
00:40:18about their vacations.
00:40:19They want to feel like they
00:40:20earned it, you know.
00:40:21Finish strong.
00:40:26For no holding up top.
00:40:29Clifford has had the hot hand.
00:40:30Neat Clifford, two years at
00:40:32Colorado State, 24th pick in
00:40:34this last draft.
00:40:36He is rolling right now with
00:40:37nine.
00:40:38It's like all these guys are
00:40:39trying to make a statement.
00:40:40To finish the season making a
00:40:42statement.
00:40:42Leave the front office with
00:40:44something to think about.
00:40:47Zengas to Guy.
00:40:49Warriors turn out one over.
00:40:51Push ahead, Devin Carter to
00:40:52dunk it down.
00:40:53So the turnovers are not going
00:40:55to work in the playoffs.
00:40:56postseason for the Debs.
00:40:57That has been their thing that
00:40:58has hamstringed this team
00:41:00during the year.
00:41:03These Kings fans are getting
00:41:04a treat here as you get
00:41:07Neat Clifford fouling them.
00:41:09They're trying to go in the
00:41:10post and let the split action
00:41:12happen.
00:41:13But this is what I was saying
00:41:14about Draymond attacking.
00:41:15Last game, they throw it in
00:41:17the post to Draymond just like
00:41:18they were about to do there.
00:41:20And the Warriors run the
00:41:22split action.
00:41:22The Lakers cover well.
00:41:23They switch it.
00:41:24And so Draymond didn't like
00:41:26that action.
00:41:27He tried to throw it to the
00:41:28other side and just turned it
00:41:29over because everybody was
00:41:30staying home.
00:41:31So a lot of times when there's
00:41:32nowhere to pass it to and
00:41:33everybody's staying home, that
00:41:33means there's more space for
00:41:35you to work, right?
00:41:35Now you can get aggressive,
00:41:37attack, go counter move,
00:41:39whatever you want to do.
00:41:41Steph missing there.
00:41:42Guy Santos hustling.
00:41:44But he touched it last and
00:41:45ended up in the crowd.
00:41:47So mandatory timeout.
00:41:50Effort level by the Kings has
00:41:52been excellent.
00:41:52And they got the Warriors on
00:41:54their heels a little.
00:41:55Your Bay Area GMC dealers in
00:41:58the state's capital in
00:41:59Sacramento with the Kings up
00:42:01six.
00:42:02We've talked about the all
00:42:04defense selections and Draymond
00:42:06Green trying to make it for
00:42:07the 10th time.
00:42:08Our Chipotle real difference
00:42:09maker in points scored per
00:42:12hundred possessions.
00:42:13The rest of the NBA versus
00:42:16against Draymond Green and all
00:42:19these legit scores decline when
00:42:22Draymond is on them.
00:42:23Draymond Green gets up to play
00:42:25guys like we have on this on
00:42:28this graphic right here.
00:42:30And Draymond Green is a type of
00:42:31defensive player to make you
00:42:33second guess yourself when you're
00:42:35on offense.
00:42:36He sees play before play, but
00:42:37he's really physical when he
00:42:39needs to be.
00:42:40He gaps guys when he needs to
00:42:41be.
00:42:41He can use that seven three
00:42:42wingspan when he needs to use
00:42:44that.
00:42:44He can guard on the perimeter.
00:42:46He can guard inside.
00:42:47The rim protection can't be
00:42:49quantified because he's blowing
00:42:50up plays before people can even
00:42:52shoot at the rim.
00:42:53Yeah, trying to become the
00:42:54sixth player ever to make 10
00:42:56all defensive teams.
00:42:58So now Warriors are in a zone
00:42:59here to see if they can take
00:43:00him out of rhythm.
00:43:01It's been that D. Clifford
00:43:02and Malik Monksoe even though
00:43:04he's out of the game now.
00:43:06Draymond Carter saved a turnover.
00:43:07Shot clock at nine.
00:43:08Chua is going to work inside back
00:43:11out to Renault to drop in the
00:43:13three.
00:43:14So this happened a little bit the
00:43:16other night at Chase Center.
00:43:17Seven to 15 for a team that's
00:43:1929th in the league.
00:43:22And we're keeping an eye on this
00:43:23Portland Clipper game because the
00:43:25Warriors are going to play the
00:43:26loser of that game more than
00:43:28likely.
00:43:29And Renault's 29% for three-point
00:43:31ranges.
00:43:31DeSanto misses one short.
00:43:33But I said it before, I think he's
00:43:35got the capability to be a stretch
00:43:36big.
00:43:40No.
00:43:41Lost the handle.
00:43:43Draymond and Melton combined
00:43:44in that steal.
00:43:46DeSanto's the step around and
00:43:48just left it off iron.
00:43:50You can tell Guy has missed a few
00:43:52games too and working his way
00:43:54back into fine tuning.
00:43:56As Carter puts it up and in.
00:44:00Carter can be a volume scorer too
00:44:02as he gets hot.
00:44:03But Pajemski had a flat tire trying
00:44:05to fix his shoe coming into the
00:44:06frontcourt.
00:44:11Well for Pajemski, Guy Santos,
00:44:14Draymond and Melton.
00:44:17Shot clock at four.
00:44:19Warriors have nothing going.
00:44:21Cycling out to Melton has been good
00:44:22in the quarter.
00:44:23Anthony Melton's got all ten here
00:44:25in the second.
00:44:26Well Draymond just cutting there.
00:44:28It was subtle.
00:44:29A little cut there made Plowden
00:44:31respect that sink in a little bit
00:44:33and he got out a little later
00:44:36than he wanted to with Anthony
00:44:38Melton.
00:44:39On this end defensively
00:44:41the Warriors have to turn the
00:44:44faucet off as Carter bottoms
00:44:46of three.
00:44:46I mean you got Sacramento
00:44:4754% shooting, 53 points already
00:44:51with five minutes left in the half.
00:44:52This is what happens when an NBA team
00:44:54finds rhythm.
00:44:55They're not a shooting team but
00:44:57every NBA team has talent and they
00:45:00find this rhythm, they're playing
00:45:01with confidence, they can make
00:45:02shots.
00:45:04Shot clock at six.
00:45:06DeSantos a little D-cell.
00:45:08Pajemski open three.
00:45:10Battling that one out.
00:45:11Warriors aren't shooting the ball
00:45:12badly.
00:45:13Eight of 18 from D.
00:45:16Achua right to the rim and Horford
00:45:18called for the foul.
00:45:19You said Achua, the way he's been
00:45:22playing the last 13 games, but
00:45:26almost 16 a game.
00:45:28If I'm Achua though, I'm working on
00:45:30becoming a double-double guy.
00:45:32Get the rebounding up, right?
00:45:34He's averaging like a little under
00:45:35seven rebounds a game.
00:45:37He had his season-high 19 rebounds
00:45:39April 1st and since then it's been
00:45:41like six rebounds a game.
00:45:44But man, if your coach can rely on
00:45:46you as a big to be a double-double
00:45:48guy and you're just like a
00:45:49metronome there as he misses the
00:45:50first one pretty badly, I mean
00:45:53that's where all these big men want
00:45:55to live.
00:45:55Once Kaleta Azebuki got a Valkyries
00:45:58Violet Edition jersey, everyone
00:46:00wants one now at shop.valkyries.com.
00:46:04I mean you put that on, Steph put
00:46:06that on and they can't even keep
00:46:07them on the shelves anymore.
00:46:08That's what I'm saying, man.
00:46:09When I got that, I felt amazing.
00:46:10You couldn't tell me nothing.
00:46:14So Achua, one of two from the line.
00:46:18I've been working out in that thing.
00:46:19I haven't been able to tell you
00:46:20anything all season.
00:46:22He's like, what else is new?
00:46:24I felt stronger in that thing.
00:46:25I went longer on the peloton.
00:46:27This is Sacramento's biggest lead.
00:46:30Forgingus is having a shooting issue.
00:46:32He's two of nine and Steph is one of six.
00:46:34So two main Warrior scorers are not
00:46:36shooting the ball well tonight.
00:46:38You don't mind the shots they're getting.
00:46:42Evan Carter on the kick out.
00:46:44Cycle it to Neek Clifford.
00:46:46And finally three.
00:46:47And the Kings are reborn as a
00:46:49three-point shooting team.
00:46:50He just had the Warriors in
00:46:51scramble more and it just started
00:46:52with Carter's drive as he just
00:46:54took the big defender off the dribble.
00:46:56It's the right idea.
00:46:57Once they get in the pain, they're
00:46:58causing all types of havoc.
00:46:59So Clifford switched on to Porzingis.
00:47:02He was doubled.
00:47:03Bynes-Bajemski.
00:47:04And that's good basketball.
00:47:05Just got to hit that shot.
00:47:08Right now Sacramento's made their
00:47:09last seven shots.
00:47:12Broadcaster jinx worked perfectly.
00:47:15Carter missed the three.
00:47:18Three and a half remaining in the first
00:47:20half.
00:47:21And it has been the guys in purple
00:47:23with the better edge in play.
00:47:26Melton, he has loved his second
00:47:28quarter.
00:47:29Anthony Melton hasn't missed a shot.
00:47:31He's four of four.
00:47:32He's got 13 to lead the Dubs.
00:47:34A little ball movement there.
00:47:35Renault can get all the way out.
00:47:37That quells the momentum a little bit.
00:47:42Three minutes remaining in the half.
00:47:46Kingsman offensive explosion.
00:47:48Plowden down the lane.
00:47:49Good contest by Porzingis.
00:47:53Then Kristaps double effort there
00:47:55on Achua.
00:47:55That's good to see.
00:47:56And Kristaps just gapped Achua.
00:47:58Made him come to him and then
00:47:59contested the shot when he got to him.
00:48:02We're just looking for a push here.
00:48:04DeSantos, that three halfway down
00:48:06and out.
00:48:07It's another great look.
00:48:08Like Plowden was cheating off of him.
00:48:12Porzingis are taking the right shots.
00:48:14Limited to turn over a little bit.
00:48:16Carter will go to the line.
00:48:18That's a tough one because you want
00:48:19to try to force Carter to the screen.
00:48:21And DeSantos kind of jumped in.
00:48:23But the Kings are having a field day
00:48:25here.
00:48:26And they're up 12.
00:48:31Wendy's.
00:48:32Baconate late.
00:48:33Hit up Wendy's for a Baconator
00:48:34made fresh for you.
00:48:35You hope until midnight or later.
00:48:39In Sacramento, Clippers on Sunday.
00:48:42That wraps up the regular season.
00:48:44And our Ford Plays of the Day brought to you by
00:48:47California Ford Dealers.
00:48:48When we were up here earlier this year,
00:48:51you remember on November 5th,
00:48:53Will Richard, the rookie, got his first NBA start
00:48:56and was fantastic with 30 points.
00:48:59He got it cutting, rebounding, offensive rebounding,
00:49:02moving without the ball, spotting up.
00:49:05He just kind of let the game come to him.
00:49:06He was balling out.
00:49:08Well, the 56 pick in the draft,
00:49:10getting a 30-point game on November 5th.
00:49:13Will Richard has had a pretty good season.
00:49:16He's had some really good stretches.
00:49:17And remember, these college guys come in the NBA.
00:49:20In college, what, they play 30-something games.
00:49:22So this is unchartered territory.
00:49:25Way unchartered territory for Will Richard.
00:49:27Will Richard said, I'm a national champion.
00:49:29Exactly.
00:49:30I beat L.J. Pryor in the championship game.
00:49:34I had 19.
00:49:35He had 18.
00:49:36But Will Richard's body is going,
00:49:37I've never been here before.
00:49:39So he's handled it well.
00:49:41These Kings rookies have handled it well.
00:49:44Devin Carter hit his second year.
00:49:46You can see the Warriors are paying close attention to minutes.
00:49:50No Gee, no Draymond, no Steph, no Porzingis,
00:49:54no Al right now for the final two and a half.
00:49:57And even no Pajemski.
00:49:59So this is, they're keeping an eye right now.
00:50:01Draymond's played 16, Steph's played 15.
00:50:03If you double that up,
00:50:04that's just about where they want the numbers to be.
00:50:06And the Kings are playing so well,
00:50:08they're giving the Warriors a pretty good test.
00:50:11Sacramento shooting it very well, leading by a dozen.
00:50:14The biggest lead was 15.
00:50:18Lob in to Bassey.
00:50:19Good hands to catch it.
00:50:21Will Richard.
00:50:23That was a nice contest by Carter.
00:50:25Made that shot short.
00:50:28Here comes Precious Achua again.
00:50:31The two bigs handling ball screening.
00:50:34Loud knocked away Will Richard.
00:50:35His defense has been excellent all year.
00:50:40The Warriors put up a couple points in the final two minutes here.
00:50:44And not be down the double digits at halftime.
00:50:47If De'Anthony Melton is going to initiate with this group.
00:50:50Got to be aggressive.
00:50:52The one-hot Warrior.
00:50:53Malefai Leones off the Melton delivery.
00:50:56Drive from one side, cut from the other.
00:50:59Malefai Leones can do it.
00:51:006-10.
00:51:01His defender lost side of him.
00:51:03Watching De'Anthony Melton work.
00:51:07Richard knocked that one away.
00:51:09Devin Carter's like, this guy is hard to dribble against.
00:51:14Shot clock at 8.
00:51:16No one hit 1-3.
00:51:18Bassey will foul him.
00:51:19I think Will Richard was just trying to get Carter back for Steph.
00:51:23And he pickpocketed Steph early in the game.
00:51:25He was just like, I got you, Steph.
00:51:27I'm going to get him back.
00:51:27He tried.
00:51:28He wasn't able to.
00:51:29But, Reneau, we delineated how confident he was.
00:51:33And you were talking about how he said he's the best rookie big in the league.
00:51:37I got big respect for that.
00:51:39Especially when you say that coming in.
00:51:40Because he's the Western Conference Rookie of the Month.
00:51:42Yeah, yeah.
00:51:43Taking 42nd.
00:51:44I can't argue with him.
00:51:46And it's big respect for me.
00:51:48Because, like, there's so much talent in this league.
00:51:51Rookies, too.
00:51:51And it's really kind of scary to say, you're the best anything.
00:51:55Right?
00:51:55And he said it.
00:51:56And he's got the numbers to back it up.
00:51:58I mean, I like Derrick Queen as a rookie, too.
00:52:01I like Ryan Kultbrenner with Charlotte Hornets.
00:52:04But I think he's the best.
00:52:06I mean, Reneau, he has 15 or more 23 times this year.
00:52:10For the 42nd pick, four years at Stanford.
00:52:1411-point game.
00:52:16Melton to Bassey.
00:52:18That pass was behind him.
00:52:19Right idea.
00:52:20De'Anthony just cleans it up.
00:52:22So, De'Anthony Melton, have yourself a quarter.
00:52:24It's the De'Anthony Melton game.
00:52:26He's got 15 in the second quarter.
00:52:29He's tuning it up.
00:52:30He's kept the Warriors afloat.
00:52:32Yeah, Melton Horford and Gary Payton.
00:52:36259 playoff games.
00:52:38A lot of experience.
00:52:40Devin Carter.
00:52:42Every king is hitting threes.
00:52:45And I saw Mike Bibby earlier.
00:52:47They're shooting like Mike Bibby.
00:52:4910 for 19.
00:52:5053 percent.
00:52:52This is the second worst three-point shooting team in the league.
00:52:55I think they're the worst.
00:52:56I mean, yeah.
00:52:58It varies game by game.
00:53:00Yeah, it goes up and down.
00:53:01But, yeah, they are pretty bad.
00:53:03I think they were the second worst last time we saw them.
00:53:05Now they're the worst.
00:53:06But, yeah, and usually they don't shoot that many.
00:53:09They're 30th in the league when it comes to three-point times.
00:53:11They're all about their twos.
00:53:13So, a couple free throws courtesy of Waymo.
00:53:33I was actually insulted when you said, let's take a Waymo to Sacramento.
00:53:36And I said, I'll drive.
00:53:38Come on.
00:53:40Where was the light?
00:53:41It's like nobody drives better than you can drive.
00:53:4510-second game.
00:53:46Shot clock difference winding down the first half.
00:53:49Sitting there at 10 right now.
00:53:51Cloudon challenged by Bassey and rimmed it home anyway.
00:53:55Sacramento just an offensive explosion.
00:53:59Shot clock off.
00:54:01Melton was 17 in the quarter.
00:54:04Down to five.
00:54:06Anthony Melton's been the hottest warrior.
00:54:09Off back iron.
00:54:10Richard back to Melton to end it.
00:54:12And they waved that shot off anyway.
00:54:14So, a 12-point Sacramento advantage.
00:54:18The Kings shoot it at 54%.
00:54:21And they're 10 of 19 on threes.
00:54:24So, as we hit the break, Sacramento up a dozen.
00:54:27Monte, Mully, and Festus.
00:54:29Or your halftime live is on the way.
00:54:38Hotels than any other brand.
00:54:41Toyota.
00:54:42Let's go places.
00:54:46At halftime in Sacramento with the Kings leading by a dozen.
00:54:50Talk about tonight being a dress rehearsal.
00:54:52The results don't really matter.
00:54:54The Warriors win or lose these last two games are still the 10 seed.
00:54:57I thought for the first time, this starting lineup, you had Guy Santos playing off Porzingis and Draymond and Steph
00:55:05and Pods.
00:55:06You had ball movement.
00:55:07You had man movement.
00:55:08You didn't have shots go down.
00:55:09But there were some good things to watch.
00:55:12Yeah.
00:55:12The main thing, just take care of the ball.
00:55:13Nine turnovers is too much.
00:55:14I like the way D'Anthony Melton played when he came in the game.
00:55:17He wouldn't force anything.
00:55:18Just took what the defense gave him.
00:55:20Sometimes they're cheating off of him.
00:55:21Let it fly.
00:55:22And then, I said be stubborn when Porzingis has a small defender on him.
00:55:26Throwing the ball.
00:55:27The Kings are really anticipating some things, though, too.
00:55:30So, you've got to make sure you're not telegraphing any passes.
00:55:33You talked about throwing some pump fakes here and there.
00:55:35But, all in all, you like the shots they're getting.
00:55:38It's just about converting.
00:55:39Now, defensively, though, that's a different story.
00:55:41This Warrior team can play much better defense.
00:55:45The Kings should not be styling for 63 in the first half.
00:55:49A team that doesn't make threes, bottoming wide-open shots.
00:55:52You don't expect them to make as many as they have.
00:55:54But, one, you've got to know when Malik Muck comes in the game.
00:55:57The alert where he is.
00:55:58Warriors kind of lost him.
00:55:59Even when he was hot, Warriors are struggling to find him there.
00:56:02And sometimes you start on the weak side.
00:56:04You get a pinning screen.
00:56:05You're not able to close out.
00:56:06And some of the other stuff is like, okay, penetration.
00:56:09Can you limit the penetration?
00:56:10I called out when you didn't force Carter to the screen, right?
00:56:13And he gets down the lane and you're going where the help is not.
00:56:17Sometimes they're taking advantage of bigger guys on a knee Clifford.
00:56:21And they're just using their quickness, driving to the basket, making multiple efforts.
00:56:25It's all these little things.
00:56:26Defense in the league is hard, right?
00:56:28And even against a team where you go, okay, they're not going to shoot it well.
00:56:31They can find rhythm, get hot, and they're playing with some confidence.
00:56:35All right.
00:56:35So, you get ready for Wednesday in a play-in game.
00:56:37How do you create threes?
00:56:39This guy has visual evidence that the Warriors know how to do it.
00:56:42With the Bukis Big Time Bifocals brought to you by your Bay Area Chevy dealers.
00:56:46This was Steph's first three of the game.
00:56:48We're going to freeze it here.
00:56:50Look at Draymond Green.
00:56:51Steph's going to come this way.
00:56:54Freshest, the two is going to go that way.
00:56:56And that is a no-no.
00:56:58I always say lock and trail with shooters.
00:57:00He did not.
00:57:01That is way too much time for Steph Curry, who's got a lightning-quick release.
00:57:06Freeze it here.
00:57:08One, two defenders.
00:57:10Look at Plowden here.
00:57:11You want to make him guard two.
00:57:14You see Draymond there.
00:57:15You're going to give him the ball first.
00:57:16And then Draymond's going to see Pujemski.
00:57:18Just the ball movement there.
00:57:20But that's why you give it to Porzingis, especially when he's got a smaller guy.
00:57:23Make the defense work.
00:57:24Anytime you've got a guy out there that can draw double teams, you want to use that as much as
00:57:28possible.
00:57:29Freeze it here.
00:57:29There's the screen.
00:57:30That's going to get Steph Curry all the way in here.
00:57:33And look at Killian Hayes.
00:57:35He's got to kind of X out this way, X out that way to Al Horford.
00:57:41But he's going to be way too late.
00:57:43But it's plays like this where you get a little more creative, set that screen up a little higher, closer
00:57:49to half court,
00:57:50give Steph Curry time to work, make the defense react, kick it out, get an open shot.
00:57:54And the Anthony Melton kept the Warriors afloat.
00:57:57He's never had 17 in a quarter in his career.
00:58:00And so doing that in the second quarter with 17, and our Metro T-Mobile first half recap, the Kings
00:58:09shot an unusual three-point percentage.
00:58:11K's right on the money then.
00:58:12But let's see if 63 is the number for Sacramento offensively in the second half.
00:58:19And the Warriors are saying, let's see if we can defensive rebound much better.
00:58:2312-3 in favor of the Kings.
00:58:25Second chance points.
00:58:26Daquan Clout missing that three, but Devin Carter able to sneak in, and that's not going to be something against
00:58:34a team like Portland or the Clippers that you can live with.
00:58:36So you finally make them miss a three, and they miss it so bad, it goes right to Carter under
00:58:41the rim.
00:58:42Porzingis off front iron.
00:58:44Now Porzingis, Guy Santos, and Steph Curry were four of 20 in that first half.
00:58:50So that is unlikely to happen, you would think, in a full game.
00:58:55As if Chua, that's an airball three.
00:58:56You get the rebound because it went out of bounds.
00:58:59Well, that's what you expect from this Kings team, and Porzingis did it right.
00:59:02He didn't even think about closing out.
00:59:04He just kind of raised his hands.
00:59:06Wemby does that a lot when he's in the paint.
00:59:08He doesn't want to close out.
00:59:09He just jumps up high.
00:59:11Steph Curry.
00:59:11Yeah, one main field goal in the first half.
00:59:14There's a three to open the second.
00:59:16Carter went a moving screen there.
00:59:17He's complaining to Tony Brothers.
00:59:19Tony Brothers is like, keep playing basketball.
00:59:21I'm not going to give you that.
00:59:23Maxine Reneau with Precious Achua, Neek Clifford, Daquan Plouton, and Devin Carter.
00:59:32Neek Clifford missing that three.
00:59:34Curry just passed Tim Duncan on that main three.
00:59:37That's a big name.
00:59:40There is he going to finish all-time in scoring, moving past 19, and on his way up.
00:59:44And you've got a full-on collision here.
00:59:46So that was brewing from the last one.
00:59:49I just called it out.
00:59:50Carter was complaining to Tony Brothers.
00:59:51Remember I said it?
00:59:52Draymond sent a pretty hard screen last time.
00:59:55Carter didn't like it.
00:59:56Draymond went ten toes deep, and I'm saying, I'm setting another.
