00:37hit hard with injuries right after their terrific month of March.
00:41The Golden State Warriors have lost two starters themselves
00:45and now try to gain traction going into the postseason.
00:50All a part of our story here in the Bay Area tonight.

00:56Kevin Harlan, Jim Jackson will check in with Allie Clifton.

01:02Can you believe we've only got three days left in this regular season?
01:06But they say when you're having fun, time flies,
01:09and it's amazing of everything that has happened over the course of this year.
01:13And yet we have more excitement coming up in the playoffs, so I can't wait.
01:16We're buckled in, harnessed, and ready to go.
01:18Let me ask you now, when you take a look at these two teams
01:20and their injury situation, Jim, do they have enough?
01:24Well, internally, when you talk to the coaches,
01:27they're going to tell you, all year we've been prepping
01:29for the opportunity to play in the playoffs.
01:31We have enough.
01:32Now, they're going to have to do some retooling,
01:34restructuring of their rosters,
01:36but also how they play offensively and defensively.
01:38But from man to man, they all believe that once they get in,
01:41they have an opportunity to be very competitive.
01:43You get a feel now from the Warriors.
01:45Moments ago, Allie Clifton caught up with the terrific coach
01:48of Golden State, Steve Kerr.
01:52Thanks so much, Kevin.
01:53Steve, obviously three games remain before the play-in,
01:55which is less than a week away.
01:56What's the biggest point of emphasis over these final three
01:58to make sure that you guys are prepared?
02:01Well, we've got to be right health-wise.
02:04So that's a challenge this year especially.
02:07But we'll manage the guys' minutes.
02:09We would love to get some combinations on the floor together.
02:14that it's not going to happen tonight, unfortunately.
02:16But we've got to be ready for what the play-in is about.
02:22It's one game.
02:23It's elimination.
02:24Take care of the ball.
02:25You know, hit singles.
02:26Make good decisions.
02:29And bring it.
02:30You know, you've got to set a tone from a competitive standpoint.
02:33And we really want to set that tone here the last three games.
02:35Speaking of health, obviously you always have a chance
02:37when 30 is on the floor.
02:38Despite not being out there tonight,
02:40what has just been from your observations,
02:42the mood, the energy since his return?
02:45Yeah, the sun shining again.
02:46You know, it's just – Steph is a magical person.
02:50I mean, the impact that he has on the building,
02:53on the locker room, on the fans, on the league,
02:57it's really dramatic.
02:59And it's just felt right these last couple games.
03:03So we're excited to have him back.

03:07But, yeah, these next couple of games
03:11and then the play-in, we always feel like we have a shot with Steph

03:26They're kind of funneling all the resources into that game.

03:29And LeBron is back in the captain's seat.
03:32He's got the hands on the controls.
03:34They're going to rely on him a lot.
03:36Well, think about this.
03:37In year 23, this is your third option, okay, with LeBron James.
03:41So now you can kind of dig back in a little bit.
03:43And this is one of those things, Kevin,
03:45where LeBron James wants to go back in the time machine
03:48and be able to recall some of those great moments of lead teams.
03:53The numbers are going to speak volumes,
03:54but his impact on the game and his teammates
03:56is what's going to be needed as you close out the season
03:59because of the injuries.
04:00Now, he can't give you the hard 40 minutes every night,
04:02but when he's putting up numbers like that,
04:04he gives the Lakers a viable chance to compete and win.
04:07They say that's the blueprint.
04:08That's what they want to follow.
04:09The regular season is coming to a close.
04:12Teams shifting their playoff positioning
04:14with only three days left
04:16with the play-in beginning next week on Prime
04:19as we take you to our studios right after this.
04:33Us fighting, willing to go out there
04:35and do whatever we need amongst all these injuries.
04:37What is the level of competitiveness
04:39that you need to see from the Lakers
04:40that you haven't seen at this point?
04:42I agree with JJ 1,000%.

04:45I mean, the Lakers are averaging 119 points
04:47per 100 possessions with LeBron in the lineup
04:50without Luke and without AR.
04:51That is not sustainable because he's 41.
04:54They've only had 447 minutes throughout the season,
04:56but that is enough to get you in the game
04:57and keep you in the game.
04:58Your effort areas, you have to dominate those.
05:01Ball in the air, ball on the floor,
05:02loose balls, rebounds, everything in between
05:04has to be dominated by the Los Angeles Lakers,
05:07and especially those guys that have not had minutes.
05:09This is your chance.
05:10This is your opportunity.
05:11There's going to be a situation in the playoffs
05:13where JJ's going to have to go to that bench.
05:14Somebody's going to be in foul trouble.
05:15This is your chance to bank equity with JJ tonight
05:18and show that you can play in those minutes and produce.
05:20Yeah, there's a reason why every team
05:22has a stay-ready group, right?
05:24In practice, the guys who don't get minutes
05:26during the season, they come in off days,
05:28they come in on non-practice days, and they play.
05:30They play pick-up.
05:31They play three-on-three to stay sharp,
05:33to stay ready for these situations right here.
05:35So it's not about like, hey, yes,
05:37you haven't played much this season,
05:39and now we need you.
05:40It's just time to show up.
05:41And UD, you said it.
05:43It's effort.
05:43Like, that's what gets the job done,
05:45and I think that's what JJ wants to see.
05:46Yeah, I think when your best players get hurt,
05:49sometimes you put your head down,
05:51and I think that's what's going on a little bit,
05:53and JJ's challenging these guys.
05:55He wants to push them.
05:56You saw he took a quick timeout, took Vando out.
05:59They had some discussions there.

06:51breathing confidence and life
06:52into these guys for 48 minutes.

06:58and being able to mitigate them,

07:03is, you know, Porzingis,
07:05the Warriors have never truly
07:06had a player like this,

07:09at least, of Steph.
07:10He's so dynamic, so tall,
07:12can do so many different things.

07:15to step up.

07:17you add those two in with Steph.
