00:00Is it lazy to ever in the sport to ask about Tiger?
00:02It kind of is.
00:03It's like it's softball.
00:05I'm going to go all the way to Augusta to talk to guys about Tiger.
00:08I think the sport was obviously infinitely more interesting with Tiger in it.
00:12Oh, so much.
00:12And even during all the comeback bids, it was way more interesting,
00:15even when he finished 16 under and in 60th place or whatever it was.
00:19Still more interesting that he's there, and I grant you that.
00:23But at this point, don't you need to get over it?
00:27Like, get over it.
00:28You know what else I would say?
00:29I mean, every sport suffers from this in some way
00:32because sports want to cling to the guys as long as they can.
00:37Who's the next Jordan?
00:38Brady.
00:39And when baseball went through this, just to make a baseball comp,
00:42baseball went through this lull where we said they don't have stars
00:45and they don't know how to market their stars
00:47and they're not appealing to the younger demos.
00:49They have found a way to do all of those things since we complained about them.
00:54They've done a much better job.
00:56Baseball deserves credit for now having stars again and for having guys that are well marketed
01:01and for having interest from a younger audience.
01:04They've done it, Milliken.
01:05It's a lesson to us all.
01:08But you know what they need to let go of?
01:10You know who they need to let go of?
01:11They need to let go of Griffey.
01:13They need to let him go.
01:14Well, because they still want to cling to him and market him.
01:19And I get why.
01:20Because the people that are now in their 40s love him.
01:23Yeah.
01:23And they're bringing their kids to the ballpark.
01:25I'm firmly in that crowd.
01:27So I get it.
01:28But I also don't get it.
01:30Because it's like, no.
01:31I don't need you to market Ken Griffey Jr. to kids.
01:35I need you to market all the guys that are now in the sport.
01:37You've got the guys to sell them.
01:39I know.
01:39But calling him Griffey is disrespectful to Tiger Woods.
01:44It's on such another level.
01:48Generational talent?
01:49No.
01:49I get it.
01:51Yeah.
01:51Tiger's in the conversation for greatest ever.
01:53Yes.
01:53But he was still a generation's talent.
01:56Right.
01:57But I also think that when you talk about people playing the game, I think a large majority
02:02of them were inspired to play based on what Tiger Woods did.
02:06Sure.
