Brazilian singer Paula Fernandes shared with her followers a video from her visit to the city of Cotia, in the state of São Paulo, Brazil, where she took the opportunity to return to a sports gym that played an important role during her teenage years.

The visit took place after a performance at a traditional June festival in the municipality. Still wearing her stage outfit, Paula returned to the venue where she used to play basketball and recalled experiences from before she achieved nationwide recognition in music.

“I decided to pay a little visit to my beloved gym, where I used to play basketball during my teenage years,” the singer said at the beginning of the video posted on social media.

According to Paula, the sport was important not only as a physical activity but also for her personal development. There, she learned about discipline, teamwork and how to deal with victories, defeats and difficulties.

The artist also said that she played as a point guard for her team and noted that the gym appears to have undergone renovations since the time when she regularly played on its courts.

During the visit, Paula Fernandes continued to the street where she once lived with her family. The singer said that she lived in a very modest two-room home but was unable to locate the old building.

According to her, the shack was probably demolished and the land is now occupied by a company. Paula also recalled that she later lived in a three-room residence located inside a church.

“Those were difficult times, marked by great poverty and struggle, but I kept them with great affection in my memories of youth,” the singer wrote in the post.

Despite the difficulties she faced during that period, Paula emphasized that she still has an emotional connection with Cotia and with the experiences she had in the municipality.
