00:00So many conflicting reports about the Strait of Hamoz.
00:03Caroline Levitt saying it's open.
00:05Pete Hegseth saying it's open.
00:07Donald Trump said the Strait of Hamoz will be open.
00:10Iran saying they've closed it because of Israel's attacks on Lebanon.
00:14But we are getting more news from the Iran Ports and Maritime Organization
00:19that says passage through the Strait of Hamoz must be done
00:22in coordination with Iran's Revolutionary Guard.
00:26And, Sarah, this is something that I really want to talk to you about
00:30because people seem to have missed that, even in that ceasefire agreement.
00:36Yes, I mean, look, that was a key detail in the initial reporting of the ceasefire
00:41was that it seemed like the White House was agreeing to the Strait of Hamoz being reopened,
00:48but with coordination through Iran's military.
00:51Now, that would be a situation that is so far from normal
00:55and completely different to what you saw before the conflict began.
00:59And many would argue giving Iran much, much more leverage
01:03than they had before the conflict started.
01:06There is no doubt, Leanne, the ceasefire is really being tested today.
01:11So you've had Iran come out, the Iranian state media outlets.
01:16They've been reporting that the oil tanker traffic was halted through the Strait of Hamoz
01:22as a result of Israel's strikes on Lebanon.
01:26Then you had the White House press conference where Caroline Leavitt asserted
01:30that what's being said publicly is different to what is being said privately.
01:37So publicly, there's some posturing going on.
01:39But she did say that privately, it's been agreed the Strait of Hamoz will be open
01:45and that it might take a while, she said, for ships to pass through.
01:49She did also say that were it not to remain open,
01:54any closure would remain completely unacceptable to the president.
02:00But as you said, Leanne, the news continually coming in.
02:03We've actually just heard in the last five minutes or so
02:06the Speaker of the Iranian Parliament saying that three clauses of Iran's 10-point proposal
02:13have been violated before talks with the US have even started.
02:18He said, in such a situation, a bilateral ceasefire or negotiation is unreasonable.
02:25Now, the White House hasn't commented on that latest public statement,
02:28but it is very clear that the two sides here are presenting very different narratives,
02:33not just about who's coming out on top in the ceasefire agreement,
02:37but about what the ceasefire agreement detail actually is in and of itself.
