Transcript
00:01USA's Vice President J.D. Vance has spoken up. That's the first reaction that has come in.
00:05What is the statement of the one who's also possibly one of those mediators and the representatives from America
00:13who will be apart if the negotiations go ahead on Friday in Pakistan, in Islamabad?
00:19J.D. Vance has welcomed the ceasefire and also added the Strait of Hormuz is being reopened.
00:24He hasn't mentioned the conditions that Iran has.
00:27This comes, remember, after J.D. Vance mentioned that they have tools in their toolkit.
00:32And if required, Donald Trump will use it.
00:35There hasn't been a need for it. Here's what J.D. Vance has said.
00:41What the President set out to do was decimate the Iranian military,
00:45decimate their ability to wage conventional war.
00:48And that military objective, as the President said yesterday, as I said yesterday, has been achieved.
00:53And because of that, what the President did is he basically issued an ultimatum to the Iranians.
00:57He said, open up the straits, stop trying to hold the world's economy hostage,
01:02and we'll engage in a ceasefire.
01:05And that's exactly the agreement that we came to last night.
01:07The Iranians have agreed to open up the straits.
01:09The United States has agreed to stop attacking.
01:12And that, not just the United States, but also our allies, have agreed to stop attacking.
01:16And that is the basis of this fragile truce that we have, which is now, you know, 8 to 12
01:21hours old.
01:23So a historic West Asia peace deal is how America is projecting it,
01:28that they've been able to get Iran to buckle down, so to say an extent.
01:32However, here's what's interesting.
01:34So in the past 6 to 8 hours, at about 4.30 a.m. India Standard Time,
01:37that statement came from the White House.
01:39We were expecting possibly an escalation going by how the situation was on the bombardment of Kargah Island.
01:44We were expecting them to pass.
