00:00I always think of in Sex and the City when Carrie Bradshaw walks into the top flat and she gasps,
00:05she's like, I have to live here. There's no furniture in there or decor, it's just the architecture and the
00:10canvas.
00:16Rule number one, prioritise cosy lighting. It's always good to choose dimmable lights that are
00:22warm white, but I would always recommend that you add in table lamps and wall lights, low-level
00:27lighting that can work for entertaining or romantic evenings. And don't be afraid to put table lamps in
00:33really obscure places like on a shelf or in the middle of the room on a coffee table. Remember
00:38that there are lots of rechargeable options out there now. Rule number two, choose craftsmanship
00:43over AI. It's really easy for people to create interior design schemes that are cohesive now
00:49at home using AI, but they all become quite generic. So I think the way to stay unique is to
00:55source from
00:56craftspeople, whether it be in your local area or from afar. These pieces come with story and are
01:02unique to the person that you've met. It might be a dining table, a chair or the front of a
01:08cabinet.
01:08Crafted pieces bring story and meaning into a space and AI can't replace that. Rule number three, add
01:14character, not clutter. I think the way to create this style of traditional meets modern is to add detail.
01:21Let's add in wall paneling or beading or even a beautiful detailed cornice to the space. I think
01:27my top tip is to keep the colour the same or even tonally the same. This makes it calm and
01:33not feel too
01:33fussy. Rule number four, if you're feeling overwhelmed with decisions and you just don't have time to make
01:39them, hire an interior designer. One of my biggest values is that I am very aware at how much of
01:45a luxury
01:46having an interior designer is and how important it is that we build a relationship. It's a real treat
01:52and it's up to me to make sure that your time with me and the process together is fun all
01:57the way through
01:57because yes, it's my job, but you hiring me is, you know, people might save up to do it. It's
02:03a real
02:03treat to have that help. You have to trust me that I will do everything in my power to make
02:08sure
02:08it's not on you and I will sort it out.
02:10Let's go.
