01:53I'm excited about this.
01:55Lucy Liu is here tonight.
01:59Ramon Rodriguez is here tonight.
02:03We have stand-up from the great Colin Quinn.
02:08And you know him as Vecna from Stranger Things.
02:11Jamie Campbell Bower is here this evening.
02:14Wow.
02:17Hot show.
02:18I read that Jamie's Vecna makeup took seven to eight hours each day.
02:23That's crazy. My show makeup only takes five, six hours.
02:26Tops. Top.
02:28And Netflix just announced that the final season of Stranger Things
02:30has been viewed over 100 million times.
02:34Right now, the CEO of Netflix is like,
02:36quick, throw Vecna in Bridgerton.
02:41I'd watch it.
02:42Well, people in New York City are talking about this.
02:44Subway fares have officially jumped to $3 a ride.
02:51The subway is so expensive, musicians have started busking in the back of Ubers.
02:57Yeah, it now costs $3 to ride the New York City subway.
03:01But remember, getting kicked in the head by a break dancer is still free.
03:05Cool.
03:07Speaking of New York City, do you guys see this?
03:09The NYPD recently put a truck with an electronic billboard in front of Radio City Music Hall that says,
03:14Beware of pickpockets.
03:17Yeah. Beware. Yeah.
03:18But apparently, they're putting billboard trucks all over the city.
03:21Really?
03:21Yeah, for instance, they also put one up in Times Square that says,
03:24Beware of Elmo's drinking from paper bags.
03:27It's not Elmo.
03:29That's not real, I thought.
03:30No, that's not.
03:31There's one next to a halal cart.
03:33It says, Beware of pigeons warming their feet on the griddle.
03:40This next one is on the Brooklyn Bridge.
03:42Oh.
03:42Yeah, it says, Beware of people asking you to take their picture,
03:45and then handing you the most confusing off-brand phone you've ever seen.
03:51Turn the knob.
03:52Vontex? What is Vontex?
03:53Turn the knob.
03:55And finally, there's one on Staten Island, and it just says, Beware.
03:58There you go.
04:00Very helpful billboard.
04:02Be careful.
04:05Let's get to some news.
04:07After announcing that the U.S. will be running Venezuela,
04:09President Trump is now saying that he's very serious about taking over Greenland.
04:14Yeah.
04:15Today, Trump is like, We're taking all the lands.
04:17Greenland, Legoland, Candyland, Judy Garland.
04:22Judy Garland.
04:25Keep talking.
04:27Trump said we need Greenland for national security purposes.
04:31You know, he's hoping to stop the steady flow of drugs coming in from Greenland.
04:35People getting high on sardines or something.
04:39Greenland is actually the biggest island in the world.
04:41Trump was like, It's one of the most amazing islands in the world,
04:44other than that one I never went to.
04:49Never been. Never been once.
04:52Of course, the major story is still the situation in Venezuela,
04:55and in a new interview, Trump said that the U.S.
04:57is going to fix the country in less than 18 months.
05:01Please, 18 months?
05:02Most people can't renovate their kitchen in less than 18 months.
05:06Tomorrow morning, the Senate will be briefed on Trump's plan for Venezuela,
05:10and it will be very brief because there is no plan.
05:14Some more political news.
05:15Congress just returned to Washington following their winter recess.
05:18Yep, Congress is back for the first time in 2026.
05:21And this is nice. A lot of lawmakers shared their New Year's resolutions.
05:24Oh.
05:25Yeah. For instance, here's Congressman John Larson.
05:27His resolution is to finally give in and learn what the Internet is.
05:35Next up here is Senator Adam Schiff.
05:37His resolution is to keep two little almonds in his cheeks at all times.
05:46Up next here is Senator Roger Marshall.
05:49His resolution is to drink coffee and smoke cigarettes
05:51to neutralize the situation.
05:58Here's another. It's Congresswoman Ann Wagner.
06:01Her resolution is to play an extra in a Stranger Things spinoff
06:04without changing her hair or outfit.
06:08I'm ready. Let's shoot. Let's go. I'm ready.
06:11Camera ready.
06:15Here's another. It's Senator Brian Schatz.
06:17His resolution is to run a comb through his hair and say,
06:20Hey, whoa, hey.
06:25Next up here is Congressman Chuck Fleischman.
06:27His resolution is to stop eating gas station sushi.
06:31Huh?
06:34Huh?
06:36Up next here is Congressman Mike Thompson.
06:38His resolution is to get his bullies to stop calling him
06:41Joe Biden's Luigi.
06:47I've never heard of that one.
06:50Here's another one. It's Senator John Ossoff.
06:53His resolution is to book dinner reservations
06:55by telling everyone he's Timothee Chalamet.
06:58Next up, here's one from Congressman Michael Guest.
07:01His resolution is to return the souls he's stolen from children
07:04by appearing in their nightmares.
07:09And finally, here's Congresswoman Federica Wilson.
07:12Her resolution is to convince Beyoncé to go back on tour.
07:16Good luck with those resolutions.
07:18Yeah, everyone has to do it.
07:19Good luck.
07:22Well, so, music news.
07:24I saw that Miley Cyrus wants to write a song
07:26for the HBO hit series Heated Rivalry's second season.
07:29Ooh.
07:32That'd be pretty awesome, actually.
07:34I can think of something even more awesome, Jimmy.
07:36Oh. It's our cameraman, Dan.
07:39What's more awesome, Dan?
07:41I wrote a song for Heated Rivalry.
07:43Do you want to hear it?
07:44Well, we actually don't really have time,
07:46so I don't think we can...
07:48Heck, yeah! Hit it!
07:49It's a Heated Rivalry.
07:52A show about guys and they're playing hockey.
07:55It's a Heated Rivalry.
07:59Rivalry.
08:00I've never actually seen the show.
08:03Because my wife likes to watch it all alone.
08:06She's watching in the bedroom.
08:07I give it a knock.
08:08I try to walk in, but the door is locked.
08:11I say through the door, can I watch, too?
08:14She yells back, get the hell out of here.
08:16But, hey, that don't make me sad.
08:19Tonight, I'm gonna watch the show with my dad.
08:22It's a Heated Rivalry.
08:24A show about guys and they're playing hockey.
08:27It's a Heated Rivalry.

09:19You all have voting clickers at your seats.

09:24You can vote for all of them.
09:26You can vote for none of them.
09:27Whatever you want to do, we're going to see the results live.
09:29Higgins, Roots, you have clickers, too.
09:31I'll post whichever one gets the most likes from all of us
09:34because it's not a me post.

10:06Yeah, wow, that's amazing.
10:08All right, good.
10:08All right, yeah.
10:09All right, this next one, it's got to be better than that.
10:12It says,
10:12Sweden is the only place where you can have a baby Bjorn
10:15in a baby Bjorn.
10:18This is Bjorn.
10:20This is my baby Bjorn.

10:24In a baby Bjorn, yeah.
10:27All right, let's see the results on this one.

10:29No, I don't know.
10:30No!
10:31What?
10:33Hey, you guys have to like one of these.
10:34You know what I mean?
10:35Give me a break.
10:36This one's good.
10:37This next one says,
10:38Batman's theme song sounds like it's making fun of him
10:40for being Batman.
10:41Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na.
10:45Na-na-na-na-na-na-na-na.

10:51Yeah, come on.
10:51Well, the other one was 50-50.
10:52Let's see the result.
10:54Whoa!
10:59That's crazy.
11:00No, no, stop, stop, stop, stop.
11:01No, absolutely not.
11:02That one, it wasn't that good.
11:04No, there's no way.
11:05Comparatively.
11:05They're being very nice.
11:06Compared to the other ones.
11:08All right, let's see this last one.
11:10I think Batman will win, but here's the last one here.
11:12This one says,
11:12whenever something falls behind the couch,
11:14I think, well, see you the next time we move.
11:19There you go.
11:19I'm going to say yes on that.
11:20I'm going to say yes.
11:21Let's see the results.
11:24Whoa!
11:26The winner is Batman!
11:28That's the one.
11:29There you go.
11:31I'm going to post this during the break.

12:13Tonight Show One Shot Jackpot.
12:20That's right.
12:21Each week, one lucky audience member
12:23is going to come down and try to make
12:25a half-court basketball shot.
12:27Last time, $15,000 was up for grabs.
12:31Unfortunately for them, they missed.
12:32But that means tonight's prize is $16,000.
12:41Now let's see who's taking the shot in this basketball.
12:44Our numbers representing the seats in our audience.
12:47Everyone, look at your seats.
12:48If I pick your number, I need you to jump up
12:50and let us know where you are,
12:52and you have to take the shot.
12:53Okay.
12:55Quest, can I get a drum roll, please?
12:59Two, four, two.
13:03All right, here we go.
13:06There we go.
13:08Come on over, bud.
13:11Nice to see you, buddy.
13:12You can stand here, face that way.
13:15What is your name, and where are you from?
13:17My name is William.
13:19I'm from Shanghai, China.
13:21Hey, come on.
13:22Welcome.
13:23Thank you for being here.
13:25Do you play basketball?
13:28I play ping pong, but I haven't played basketball yet.
13:30That's similar sports.
13:32Okay.
13:33Okay, you're going to get one shot, okay?
13:35If you score, you win the $16,000
13:38that is beautifully floating and flying around.
13:40That's Nitro One's jackpot box.
13:42Okay.
13:42What would you do with the money if you win?
13:46Actually, I'm going to give it to my parents,
13:49because they pay all the money if I live.
13:53Oh, that is a nice thing.
13:54I hope you win this.
13:57So you have a choice to make, okay?
14:00You can either take the half-court shot,
14:02or you can take a foul shot from here for $1,000.
14:07But you'll have to do while wearing this
14:09hashtag-the-panda mascot head.
14:11What would you like to do?
14:13Go for the $16,000 back there,
14:16or $1,000 from here with the panda head on?
14:20Uh, $16,000.
14:23That's what I'm talking about.
14:24Come on.
14:24Let's get in position.
14:25That's what I'm talking about.
14:27Whoa!
14:28All right.
14:29Here you go.
14:32Now, here's your ball.
14:34You only get one shot.
14:36If the ball hits the ceiling or the lights, that's it.
14:37No re-dos.
14:38And remember, you can't cross the line.
14:41Whenever you're ready.
14:42I think you got this, bud.
14:43Okay.
14:44Sorry.
15:00Ah, you were very close.
15:02No, you were very close.
15:04That means more money will be added to The Tonight Show
15:07one-shot jackpot, but no one goes home empty-handed.
15:10You actually will go home with The Tonight Show sweatshirt
15:13autographed by me that says you were here.
15:16There you go, bud.
15:18You were great.
15:18Thank you for playing.
15:19I appreciate this.
15:20We'll be right back with Lucy Liu, everybody.
15:23Come on back.
15:39Our first guest is a very talented actress
15:42who stars in and produced the new film Rosemead,
15:46which opens in theaters nationwide this Friday.
15:49Please welcome Lucy Liu.
16:04Come on, that's what I'm talking about.
16:06Welcome back to the show.
16:10You look phenomenal.
16:11It's always great to see you.
16:13Happy New Year, man.
16:13Happy New Year, bud.
16:14My God, 2026.
16:15It's happening.
16:16I love it.
16:17What did you do for the holidays?
16:18Anything big?
16:18I do this thing with my son where instead of a gift,
16:21which I don't know if he's going to like it or not,
16:23but maybe later, I do an experience.
16:26Oh.
16:26Yeah, so I was like, okay, he opens it up on Christmas Day
16:30and he unrolls it and it's a...
16:32Oh, my gosh.
16:32It's a great idea.
16:33Like, I took him to the Empire State Building one year.
16:36I took him to, like, this year I took him to Harry Potter
16:38to see the show.
16:40Ooh, how do you like it?
16:40I know.
16:41I think he loved it.
16:42I mean, there's Death Eaters,
16:44so it's a little bit scary, but I think he was into it.
16:47Yeah, I've got to see it.
16:49My girls, I can't get them into Harry Potter.
16:51Oh, really?
16:52Yeah, I'm dying to get them into it.
16:53You know what?
16:53I did it when he was younger and I played it on audiobooks.
16:57Yeah, I tried that too.
16:58Yeah.
16:58I think I was, like, too lazy to read it.
17:00I was like, you know what?
17:01Press play.
17:03Yeah, but the voices are so good, so I don't know.
17:06Better than mine.
17:07So I was like, okay.
17:07Oh, please.
17:08I have to talk about your new movie, Rosemead.
17:11Oh, my goodness.
17:12Lucy Liu.
17:13What a performance.
17:14You know, I've known you for a long time.
17:17I don't know how you even did this.
17:19It was amazing.
17:20It is tragic.
17:21It is scary.
17:23It is just so well performed.
17:27And it's based on a true story?
17:29Yeah, it's inspired by a true story,
17:31and it's about this family that's struggling.
17:33It's really a love story between a mother and her son
17:35and the struggles behind closed doors
17:38and how they're perceived by society and their community
17:43and ultimately how lonely she was at the end.
17:46And it's so intense,
17:48but I think it's, like, a really great conversation starter,
17:52and we just hope that that sparks that kind of sharing.
17:54Yeah.
17:55Not just in our community,
17:56but, like, in every community and in families.
17:58Variety put out a headline I just saw.
18:00It's like,
18:00the 55 of the most anticipated film performances of 2025.
18:04And look who's number two,
18:05Lucy Liu, right there.
18:07Rosemead.
18:12You have gotten rave reviews.
18:14You've won all sorts of awards
18:16at various film festivals.
18:18What does it feel like?
18:19Are you...
18:20It feels kind of crazy
18:21because we did this movie,
18:23and it took us seven years to make it.
18:25Wow.
18:26And we had 16 different investors.
18:28You know, like, people...
18:29Seven years to...
18:30Weren't sure about it,
18:31and then when we finally got it up and running
18:33and out in the theaters,
18:34like, it's a gift to be sharing it now.
18:36So it seems like a miracle.
18:37Oh, my gosh.
18:38Yeah.
18:39And the story,
18:40and your co-star who plays your son...
18:42Yeah, Lawrence is just...
18:44First of all, he sent in a self-tape.
18:46Yeah, there were 600 people
18:48that sent in an audition tape.
18:50You guys can't even imagine
18:51how hard it is as an actor.
18:52But then to, like, submit yourself,
18:54and then this is his first role ever.
18:56So, and he's just, like,
18:58an incredible person.
18:59You guys bonded.
19:01It was amazing.
19:02How do we describe who you play?
19:05You're so unbelievable.
19:06Irene.
19:07I play this mother
19:07who just lost her husband,
19:10and she's struggling to, like,
19:13sort out the business
19:13and keep that running,
19:14and also knowing that her son,
19:16because of the stress,
19:17was diagnosed with schizophrenia.
19:19And so she's trying to figure that out
19:21and also manage the language.
19:23You know, so there's a lot of advocacy
19:25that she doesn't get
19:26because she doesn't quite understand
19:28what the doctors are telling her.
19:29Yeah.
19:30And then on top of it,
19:31like, whatever, you know,
19:32she was in remission,
19:33and then it kind of comes back.
19:35So she's struggling
19:36with, like, this heartbreaking story,
19:37but it's so incredible
19:38how much the love comes through.
19:41It's another twist and another thing.
19:41Yeah, it's almost like a thriller
19:42in that sense.
19:43That's your kid.
19:45You love them,
19:45and you want to help them,
19:46but you don't know.
19:47In reality,
19:48you just really need to,
19:49I guess, outreach, right?
19:51And just, like, leave it out there,
19:53put it out on the table.
19:54And your character kind of has
19:54no one else really to talk to.
19:56No, and I think that's the thing,
19:57that she's so lonely,
19:59and she makes these choices
20:00that are not the best choices
20:01in the end.
20:02And your Mandarin, by the way,
20:04is fantastic.
20:04Oh, my God, thank you.
20:05I had to really work on it
20:07because I haven't spoken Mandarin
20:08like that fluently
20:09since I was, like, five.
20:11I mean, it's phenomenal.
20:13I have never heard you speak.
20:14I was, like, really functioning
20:15on just speaking Mandarin
20:17the entire time.
20:18It's just an amazing performance.
20:20Congrats on all the rave reviews.
20:21You totally deserve it.
20:22I want to show everyone a clip.
20:24It's so good.
20:25Here's Lucy Liu in Rosemee.
20:27Take a look.
20:35I heard you there in the hallway.
20:42You were there.
20:43I heard you, and you were trying to...
20:48Hey,儿子,你听妈咪约到什么不合理的
20:54,你要仔细醒一下...
21:04Come on.
21:05That's how you do it.
21:06Knockout performance.
21:08Lucy Liu, everybody.
21:09Rosemead opens in theaters
21:10this Friday.
21:12Ramon Rodriguez joins us
21:14after the break.
21:14Stick around.
21:15Oh, congratulations.
21:17I'm...
21:17But the person,
21:17this is just a conversation.
21:19Yeah, tell them what's the destination.
21:21To the top, but a lot...
21:32Our next guest is a talented actor
21:34and the star of the series,
21:36Will Trent,
21:37which airs every Tuesday
21:38at 8 p.m. on ABC
21:39and streams the next day on Hulu.
21:42Please welcome Ramon Rodriguez.
22:08Welcome back to the show.
22:11Ramon Rodriguez.
22:16Thank you for that.
22:17What was that song
22:18that you just walked out to?
22:19Well, today is not only
22:21premiere day for Will Trent,
22:22it is Three Kings Day.
22:24Oh.
22:24And that's like our Christmas
22:26in Puerto Rico,
22:27and that was a parranda,
22:29which is what you do today.
22:30They're doing it right now,
22:31Puerto Rico,
22:32which is you go house...
22:32It's like Christmas caroling.
22:34And so you go house to house,
22:35you sing, you know,
22:39You're calling your neighbor,
22:41you're asking for them
22:41to give you access into their home
22:43to eat their food
22:44and drink their liquor.
22:46And then...
22:46It's fantastic.
22:47Isn't that a great idea?
22:48And then you keep going
22:49to each other neighbor's house,
22:50and so you welcomed me to your house,
22:52so I had to say
22:53Thank you so much.
22:54Thank you for coming to my house
22:56and coming back...
22:56Thank you for having me.
22:57It's always a pleasure to have you.
23:00You actually brought me something,
23:02which you don't have to do.
23:03You are the gift.
23:04You know that.
23:04Well, it's Three Kings Day.
23:06We have to bear gifts,
23:07and I know last time
23:08you were kind enough
23:09to do coquito for the holidays.
23:11That's right.
23:12And this time, it was delicious.
23:14It was wonderful.
23:14And I think you said
23:16someone's mother made it.
23:17It was wonderful.
23:17Now this time...
23:18I feel like someone's mother
23:19always has to make it.
23:21Yes, that's correct.
23:22And this time,
23:23I'm bringing you into
23:24the mountains of Puerto Rico.
23:26To have some pitorro.
23:28Moonshine.
23:31You know I have more
23:32of the show to do tonight.
23:34But it's only going to get better now.
23:35It's already been great,
23:37and it's just going to get better.
23:38I'm going to start slurring my words here.
23:40What is this here?
23:41I think you're officially...
23:42We started last time
23:43like you might be Jaime Fallon.
23:46You know, for Jimmy Fallon.
23:48I love Puerto Rico so much.
23:51Now what?
23:53Shall we do a shot?
23:54I think we should, absolutely.
23:58Salud, my friend.
23:59Salud.
24:11It's actually smooth.
24:13It's smooth.
24:14But it's got a...
24:15But you keep doing it,
24:16and it's just...
24:18I'm in second gear now.
24:19Yeah, yeah, yeah.
24:20Oh, wow, wow.
24:21Yeah, I dropped it down.
24:22Oh, my gosh.
24:23There you go.
24:23Thank you, Ben.
24:24By the way,
24:24they just rocked that Parranda song.
24:26I got to give it up here.
24:27They're the best.
24:27No, come on.
24:27Killing it.
24:30Let's talk about Will Trent.
24:31Congratulations.
24:32It premiered earlier tonight.
24:34It's a big hit.
24:35The show can be pretty serious,
24:36but it's also very funny,
24:37and you got to direct again this season.
24:39I got to direct the season premiere once again,
24:41which is quite the honor.
24:42How's your co-star there, Betty?
24:45Bluebell.
24:46That's my girl.
24:47You know, she's amazing.
24:49We do these shots often
24:50where I'm driving the Porsche,
24:52and she's right there with me.
24:53Yeah.
24:53And it looks chill.
24:55She's, like, harnessed with, like, a safety line.
24:58Of course.
24:58And there's a person hidden in the back seat
25:02under a black tarp in the dead of summer
25:04making sure she doesn't fly away.
25:06Yes, of course.
25:07Very good.
25:08You have to take care.
25:09Safety first.
25:09Safety first.
25:10You have to take care of that baby.
25:11Yeah, so, yeah, she's amazing.
25:13How do we say what's happening
25:15in season four of Will Trent?
25:16You know, we are blessed to do another season.
25:20We wanted to really touch on the subject
25:21of this character who's always in his three-piece suit,
25:24sort of really tidy, that he's, you know,
25:26we wanted to see him unravel.
25:28Let's deconstruct this character
25:30who hasn't dealt with a lot of his issues.
25:32He's in therapy now,
25:34and that brings up all kinds of interesting things.
25:37Played by my therapist is Margaret Cho.
25:38Oh, my gosh.
25:40She's so funny.
25:40Yeah, so she's wonderful,
25:41and then we always find our moments
25:43for some comedy and levity,
25:44and then, of course, we have Betty,
25:46which is amazing.
25:46I want to show a clip.
25:47Here's Ramon Rodriguez in Will Trent.
25:50Take a look at this.
25:51How's Angie?
25:56Still pregnant.
25:57How do you feel about that?
26:01A little lost.
26:02Keep talking.
26:04We've only had each other for our entire lives.
26:07Now she's moved on
26:09to a very successful, emotionally secure doctor,
26:13and I couldn't be happier about it.
26:15Really?
26:16Yes.
26:17Because it would be perfectly understandable
26:20for you to have some mixed feelings about that.
26:23I do not.
26:23I mean, if you were so scared.
26:27I'm fine.
26:28I said I'm fine.
26:29I'm so fine that I'm great.
26:30Yeah, come on.
26:33Dude, have a...
26:34He's got no issues.
26:36Betty watching the ball.
26:38Therapy doing pickleball.
26:40Ramon Rodriguez, everybody.
26:41Will Trent airs Tuesdays at 8 p.m.
26:44on ABC.
26:46Streams the next day on Hulu.
26:47We'll be right back with Jamie Campbell-Bauer.
26:50Stick around.
26:51How you doing?
26:52You want to deceptive.
26:53Beats are perfected.
26:54You know what's infested.
26:55With most destruction.
26:57The vocal impruption.
26:58Speak about corruption.
26:59But no...
27:02Pick up the mic to go solo.
27:05Oh, yeah.
27:08You know our next guest from his role as Vecna
27:11in the biggest show in the world,
27:13Stranger Things.
27:14The fifth and final...
27:16I know he's amazing.
27:17The fifth and final season is now playing only on Netflix.
27:21Everyone, please welcome Jamie Campbell-Bauer.
27:24Oh, my God.
27:27Love is great, yeah.
27:31I'm so beautiful.
27:35I'm so beautiful.
27:37God, real.
27:39Look at that.
27:40That's what I was talking about.
27:41Look at that.
27:44Look at that.
27:45Come on.
27:47Jamie.
27:49Jamie, welcome back.
27:50Congrats on the finale of Stranger Things,
27:53the final season.
27:53This is it.
27:54Thank you so much for having me back.
27:56It's such a pleasure.
27:57What are you talking about?
27:57I can't believe it.
27:59I'm so happy you're back.
28:00Man, oh, man.
28:01You were unbelievable in this.
28:02You really crushed it.
28:03Oh, thank you so much.
28:04You got to really work it out this season, man.
28:06Oh, my gosh.
28:07And I want to tell everyone who's watching,
28:09there will be spoilers.
28:10So, if you're watching and haven't seen it,
28:13pause this, watch the finale,
28:15then watch the rest of this.
28:17All right.
28:18Let's get into it.
28:19I gave you everyone,
28:20I gave everyone a warning, okay?
28:22Vecna doesn't make it.
28:28Why are you clapping?
28:29No, yeah, no, yeah.
28:30Half the people clapped,
28:31half the people were like,
28:32no, some people said, ah.
28:34Did you know that Vecna was going to die?
28:36When did you find out?
28:37I found out at the table read for episode eight.
28:40You did?
28:40Yeah, yeah.
28:41That was it, you know?
28:42Which was, again,
28:43like a really strange experience
28:45because I got COVID for that table read.
28:49And so everybody's in, like,
28:51in the studio in Atlanta,
28:52and I'm stuck behind a computer screen
28:54in my little, like, apartment in Atlanta,
28:56watching everyone isolated, alone,
28:59lonely, like Vecna.
29:00Wow.
29:01Yeah.
29:02Really a method actor.
29:03Wow, yeah.
29:05Yeah, fully committing to the bit.
29:06Yeah, exactly.
29:07Exactly.
29:08But, so you found that out,
29:10and I think, I mean, I'm happy with that.
29:13I think that's the ending that, right?
29:15Yeah, it's the ending the show deserves.
29:17I mean, I'm like,
29:17I've been a fan of the show since the start,
29:19so, like, even just joining the show
29:21was a huge, I don't know,
29:23achievement, I suppose,
29:24and just, like, I felt very honored
29:25and blessed to be a part of it.
29:26Yeah.
29:28Even as the actor that plays Vecna,
29:30like, it just, it feels right, you know?
29:31The show is so much about friendship
29:33and love and hope and joy.
29:36And, of course, like,
29:37the person who is not that has to go, you know?
29:41All he really needs is a hug, though.
29:43That's all he really needed was a hug, yeah.
29:45We had Jay Connolly on the show
29:48who plays Derek.
29:48Yes.
29:49Who is unbelievable.
29:50He is, my gosh, he's phenomenal.
29:53And he came on the show,
29:54and I asked him before the finale
29:56to write a question for you
29:57that will seal and only open
29:59when you come on the show.
30:01Okay.
30:01And you will read the answer to that.
30:03But I don't know what the question is
30:04because I haven't opened it.
30:05Okay.
30:05So, actually, hopefully,
30:06it's a great question.
30:07Do you want me to open it?
30:08Yeah.
30:08I'm scared.
30:09This is all you.
30:10You're scared?
30:11I'm terrified.
30:11You're Vecna.
30:12You can't be scared.
30:13Derek scares me.
30:18Oh, bless you, Jake.
30:20Hi, Jake.
30:21Jake has written,
30:22How does decapitation feel?
30:28I love that kid.
30:30He's so cool, man.
30:32I personally can't wait
30:33to see the mayonnaise documentary.
30:34I love that, sir.
30:36It's unbelievable.
30:38How did it feel?
30:41I feel lighter.
30:42Because it felt, again,
30:46like it felt appropriate.
30:47I mean, and to have Winona Ryder
30:49cutting off your head
30:50is pretty cool.
30:52Oh, and she had one
30:52of the best lines of the episode.
30:54She really did.
30:55Oh, nailed it.
30:56She nailed it.
30:56It was so good.
30:57It was so intense.
30:58And, like, she's so sweet
31:00and so kind.
31:01And she was like,
31:01I don't want to hurt you.
31:02And I was like,
31:02no, it's fine.
31:03We're all doing this together.
31:04It's going to be great.
31:05And then, like,
31:05I'm gurgling on the spike.
31:07It's like, it's a lot.
31:08You did a great job.
31:10Thank you so much.
31:10But that gurgling is,
31:13how would you even practice for that?
31:14I mean...
31:15A lot of water in the mouth
31:16in the morning,
31:17just, like, sat there.
31:18Yeah.
31:18Yeah, it's gross.
31:19Yeah.
31:20Well, I thought it'd be fun
31:21if I showed some photos
31:22of you throughout season four
31:24and season five,
31:24and maybe you can
31:25tell me some things about...
31:27First of all,
31:28a lot of people are saying
31:29that your body really changed
31:31between season four
31:33and season five.
31:36That's season four, Vecna.
31:39That's season five.
31:41What happened?
31:43Ozempic?
31:44Or what are we...
31:45What are we talking about here?
31:47Manjaro.
31:48Yeah, Manjaro.
31:48Yeah, yeah, yeah.
31:51You're more jacked in season five
31:53in kind of a different shape.
31:55Snatched, Jimmy.
31:56We can say it.
31:57Snatched.
31:57Thank you, yes.
31:58Snatched, absolutely, yes.
32:00Yeah.
32:01Was that just a choice
32:03or just because
32:04he's more powerful now?
32:05Yeah, I think, you know,
32:07at the end of four,
32:08he gets thrown out a window,
32:09shot, and set on fire.
32:11There you go.
32:11It's, you know,
32:12it's a lot to go through.
32:13You think?
32:15And within that, like,
32:16I know Michael Meher
32:17and the Duffers wanted to...
32:19Michael's our VFX supervisor
32:21and coordinator,
32:21and, like, he wanted to make him,
32:24like, have parts of him missing,
32:26and I think also just bring in
32:28a bit more of the sort of Vecna
32:29from D&D as well, actually,
32:31ultimately from what I've seen.
32:33And so within that,
32:34it was more of like
32:35a sort of cross-collaboration
32:36between departments of, like,
32:39Barry Gower and the BGFX team,
32:40sort of here upwards
32:41was prosthetic.
32:43Insane job.
32:43They did such a phenomenal job.
32:44Huge, yeah.
32:45It was amazing.
32:47Vecna would use his left hand
32:48to channel his powers,
32:50and I happen to have
32:51a few Vecna hands right now.
32:56I was just wondering
32:57if you'd like to maybe see
32:58if you can get the powers back.
33:01I would love to, Jimmy.
33:02This sounds like fun.
33:04This is...
33:05This is terrifying.
33:08Oh, gross.
33:09It's wet.
33:10It's not wet.
33:12It is kind of, a little bit.
33:14I'm in.
33:15I'm in, too, man.
33:16Okay.
33:16What do we do?
33:17So, I mean,
33:18I use my left hand
33:19to, like, suck people's brains
33:21like this.
33:22Yeah.
33:22And you really have to go in.
33:23So we're going to see
33:24what's in each other's minds.
33:25All right, so we'll see
33:26what's in each other's minds,
33:27all right?
33:27All right, hold on.
33:28Wait, am I doing it right?
33:30And you have to roll your eyes
33:31off like this.
33:34All right, and then...
33:37On the count of...
33:39On the count of three...
33:42We have to say
33:43what we're thinking.
33:45Okay.
33:46One,
33:47two,
33:48three.
33:50Eleven lives!
33:53Jamie Campbell-Bower, everyone!
33:55The fifth and final season
33:57of Stranger Things
33:58is now playing
33:59only on Netflix.
34:00We'll be right back
34:01with stand-up from Colin Quinn.
34:03Stick around!
34:22This next guest is the best comedian
34:25of all time,
34:26and without him helping my career,
34:28I'd be no better than a subway rat.
34:35You can see him
34:36at the Comedy Cellar
34:37this weekend.
34:38Please welcome
34:38the very funny
34:39Colin Quinn!
34:49Oh, my God.
34:50What an intro.
34:51I mean, that was too much.
34:52But if that's how he feels,
34:53I'm not going to tell people
34:53how to feel about themselves.
34:56Folks,
34:58New Year.
34:59Thank God we're done
35:00with that year.
35:01That's what you have to say
35:01at the beginning of every year.
35:02You have to insult
35:03the year you just lived in.
35:04You're like,
35:05that was the worst.
35:06You throw it under the bus
35:07and move on.
35:10Which I'll do with that joke.
35:14Folks,
35:14I love this country,
35:15but I think we should sell.
35:17Now, listen.
35:19We hit a wall.
35:20There's nothing wrong with that.
35:21It happens.
35:22Just see if there's interest
35:23out there.
35:23You know what I mean?
35:25How they do it on HGTV,
35:26knock down the Rockies,
35:27open concept.
35:28You know, see?
35:31Because technology made us think
35:33that we evolve.
35:35And really,
35:35we still have wars,
35:37which is embarrassing.
35:38I mean,
35:38in the old days,
35:39cavemen,
35:40whatever,
35:41you know,
35:41they were violent.
35:43Now we have the top minds.
35:45We spend millions of dollars,
35:46every country,
35:47a five-star hotel,
35:49earpieces,
35:50laptops,
35:51stayed a month there.
35:52What did you guys figure out?
35:53We're going to kill them.
35:54Really?
35:56Could have had two gang members
35:57do that for half a kilo,
35:58you know?
36:00I know people still use
36:01half a kilo,
36:01but, you know,
36:02back in my day.
36:02And, um,
36:05but, yeah,
36:06and now we feel we've evolved
36:07because now we think
36:08war is bad.
36:08That's the only way
36:09we've evolved.
36:10We still have wars all the time,
36:11but we're like,
36:12war, terrible.
36:13That's not evolved.
36:14That's even worse
36:15because you're telling
36:17young guys,
36:17we want you to go into battle,
36:19but we think it's a mistake,
36:21but good luck,
36:23charge,
36:23but we don't know
36:24if this is a good idea.
36:26At least in the old days,
36:27you had a little passion.
36:28The king would get out
36:29and be like,
36:29we're going to war,
36:30France.
36:31It was always England
36:32and France.
36:33The king would be like,
36:33you know,
36:34he badmouthed France
36:35because he was educated there,
36:36so he was like,
36:37France, trust me,
36:38when you meet them,
36:39you're going to want to kill them.
36:40They're snarky
36:41and ironic,
36:42and they compliment you
36:44on the way home.
36:45You realize it's actually
36:46kind of an insult
36:46in many ways.
36:49The king would just
36:50give you war speech.
36:51That's what the leader
36:52is supposed to do.
36:53They'd be out there
36:53and just,
36:54the valiant to only die once
36:57who sheds blood with me
36:58on his precious stone in England,
37:01the fire I'd made
37:02of smoky war,
37:04the purple testament
37:05of mountain.
37:06Now,
37:07even 48 years ago,
37:09we'd be like,
37:09we'll fight them
37:10in the beaches,
37:11fight them in the streets.
37:12Tyranny will never rule
37:13this nation,
37:15you know,
37:15and guys would fight.
37:16Now it's a different world.
37:18If we have World War III,
37:20God forbid,
37:21but probably be
37:22a few years from now,
37:23probably a Gen Z president
37:25by then,
37:26you know,
37:26but you'll still need
37:28a war speech,
37:28and they'll be like,
37:30the president would like
37:31to speak on the brink of war,
37:33comes out,
37:34the State of the Union,
37:35the nation awaits,
37:36be like,
37:38okay,
37:39so this is random.
37:43So,
37:43yeah,
37:45Russia's a lot.
37:46Russia's a lot,
37:46not gonna lie,
37:47and
37:50North Korea
37:51low-key supporting them,
37:53so
37:54just want to
37:55kind of put that
37:56out there,
37:56and
37:58Iran
37:58is burning off flags.
38:00It's like
38:01when people tell you
38:02who they are,
38:03believe them.
38:05Iran's gonna Iran,
38:06and Yemen,
38:08Yemen is literally
38:09threatening us,
38:10like,
38:11what is happening?
38:14Yemen, like,
38:15bro,
38:15no,
38:15you do not want this.
38:17You're not that country.
38:19You are not built for this.
38:21Facts,
38:22truths,
38:23trusts,
38:24but
38:25it's like,
38:26Saudi,
38:26come get your boys,
38:27you know?
38:28It's like,
38:30and Syria's tweaking.
38:32Syria's,
38:34ISIS is back,
38:35which,
38:35been a minute,
38:36and ISIS
38:37fell off in 2017,
38:40and
38:41Turkey
38:42is
38:43buying
38:44weapons off Russia,
38:46which,
38:46they're a NATO member,
38:48so it hits different,
38:49obviously.
38:51The good news,
38:52our allies,
38:53England and France,
38:54have said they're down
38:55for whatever,
38:56but
38:59China is,
39:00China's a real one,
39:01China's having a moment,
39:03but they're still spying on us,
39:05like,
39:05China,
39:06stop,
39:07stop spying.
39:09You're doing too much,
39:10China.
39:11China got me,
39:12like,
39:12ready to crash out,
39:14but,
39:17but I say to you,
39:19my fellow Americans,
39:20I stand here,
39:20and I say to you,
39:21what are we even doing?
39:23Like,
39:24make it make sense.
39:25Like,
39:25I don't even know,
39:26how to have this conversation
39:28right now.
39:29I mean,
39:30war is hell,
39:31and I get it,
39:32but
39:33if we're going to go,
39:34if you're prepared,
39:35look deep into your souls
39:37and ask yourselves,
39:39am I about it?
39:40Because
39:42this is serious,
39:43you guys.
39:43This is, like,
39:43really happening,
39:44and if we do it,
39:46we have to stay positive,
39:48stay motivated,
39:50stay hydrated,
39:51and
