02:07obviously I've got BPM yeah you put yourself out there you win you're straight through to the final fight
02:13you're in the walkway oh it's the rules
02:17I cannot believe it is the last task
02:20I know this is the one that determines the final fight I feel
02:30it feels like all eyes are gonna be on Kieran today after his brave and bold move in the boardroom
02:36there's a lot of pressure being on his team I mean it's always a losing team when he's around
02:42near the banks of the Thames rocker London gallery a high-end hub for design and innovation
02:55good morning you're standing in the rocker gallery built to showcase the latest trends in high-end design and that
03:06is exactly what your next task is all about
03:09now the UK spends an astonishing nine billion pounds a year on products for their pets
03:17I want you to take a bite out of that market
03:20so you're going to come up with a new pet lifestyle brand design an innovative pet product
03:27and create a social media video and then tomorrow you'll pitch your product to a room full of retailers
03:35the team that secures the most orders will win and on the losing team at least one of you will
03:41be going for walkers
03:43Lord sugar's asked me to tell you that this is an important task because after this it's the final five
03:50and
03:51there are seven of you so two from the losing team will be fired so give it your all everything
03:57clear
03:57good luck and off you go
04:03teams have two days to perfect a product for pets before trying to tempt buyers tomorrow
04:11first job we're all there in the boardroom it's a winner walk so I'll be leading this one for you
04:18guys
04:18work out who's top dog final task before interviews who wants a VPN
04:26well I'm going to put myself forward guys just off the bat obviously I love pets and I also worked
04:31at
04:31pets at home that was my first job when I was 17 um so yeah guys I would also like
04:37to put myself
04:38forward as PM as a dog owner I know what dogs love I've had German Shepherds growing up and now
04:43I also
04:43have a Shih Tzu so I've had big dogs small dogs um I can speak dog I can speak dog
04:49as well
04:49but people call me the dog whisperer I've got a cockapoo I had a lab rescued a Shih Tzu I've
04:56also
04:56had a cat cat sand dog sources all of it guys I want to create something for dogs that's the
05:01direction I want to take this with I've thought it through and I would love to be your project manager
05:05for this one guys oh wow both of you guys have you know pets like you know have dogs and
05:11you know
05:11that stuff but I'm my votes with Krishna for this one yeah my vote's gonna be with Krishna as well
05:18being project manager on week 10 is a huge risk however I have such a clear vision for this
05:22task like it could not have been any more catered for me and I have no doubt that me and
05:28my team
05:28can win this I'm so excited thank you guys for voting me in and Kieran's going home
05:35on the other team there is also a big demand for cats products at the moment it's growing as well
05:40it's a growing market project manager Kieran so let's go with cats scratches round for inspiration
05:48I've never had a cat have you ever had cats so I'm gonna be really honest with you guys um
05:53I have a
05:54bit of a fear of pet right what were your thoughts be on cat bed I've never had a pet
06:02in my life so it's
06:03a bit my knowledge of it is not great I think we need to look at so cat trees yep
06:08if we used to
06:09for exercise for the cats so in terms of that what we're thinking um okay anything come into mind
06:21I'm not a huge fan of animals and going down the cat route was quite risky if I'm honest I
06:26think
06:26nobody knows enough about cats and so whether that comes to bite us later on or not we'll find out
06:32we could even make it look like a tree it could just be brown brown trunk green grass well the
06:38tree idea I like it because people have houseplants right so why not have a tray across the hall me
06:50and
06:50Pasha I know for a fact we speak to our dogs we go hey baby good morning are you hungry
06:54planning to
06:55pounce on a winning idea now imagine if you had the power to leave your dog voice notes project
07:01manager Karishma in my head okay there's a dog bed right and dog owners communicate and leave like
07:10little voice messages for their dogs my dog would absolutely love that and I can already tell you that
07:14I would buy that bed that's this is why we have our experts I've got a very clear idea of
07:19what I want
07:19this to look like I think we should go down the luxury market loads of people that invest in dogs
07:25they have the money to spend on dogs you know I would sell my kidney for my dog to have
07:28the nicest
07:29bed dogs like fluffy materials so that's a huge thing to think about yeah it needs to look expensive
07:35from the logo to the bed itself yeah team alpha seems to have fallen on their feet Karishma and Pasha
07:42have got all the experience you could want with regards to pets having had dogs their whole life
07:47there's really no excuse now because they've got to deliver the logo needs to be minimalistic and
07:52chic like I thought of Maison Le Chien which means house of dog I do like French yeah sure vibes
07:58I
07:58think that is high-end but it's also premium perfect you'd sort of have a pod here with a little
08:07window
08:07for quiet time set on creating a winning cat tree we can then have the branches where you have the
08:13dangly
08:13fun bits Kieran's team you can dangle bits of fruit off them you could dangle a square a squirrel of
08:20it
08:21in regards to the team split for me I think because I feel like you have a better idea of
08:26how you want
08:27the trees to look I think personally it would be good for you to go into the design okay I'm
08:32not gonna
08:33lie to you and I hope you don't in the same way working with you attention to detail sometimes can
08:37me miss and I feel like I'd add that okay um Dan how would you feel about um doing the
08:43branding I
08:43mean I'm really easygoing in terms of the branding make it look friendly nice inviting something like
08:52that Rothner told Kieran that he really lacks attention to detail and I can see what she's
08:58talking about he hasn't given any direction to down at all I mean inviting friendly and nice I mean what
09:04kind of brief is that so the design team is myself and Lawrence and my burning team is Pasha and
09:11Priyash
09:11we're gonna put Pasha sub-team leader let's win this let's win it come on let's do it let's go
09:1810 a.m. teams divide half will sink their claws into branding the brief this morning was so clear
09:26it's luxury we know what Krishna wants yeah and you know we're gonna add that element of a French twist
09:32to
09:32the name yeah while the rest design products aimed at furry friends I genuinely want you to get this
09:39win after your little boozy claim I want the win really badly I need it yeah otherwise it's home
09:44time for me the Royal College of Art base for both product design teams I'm Kieran nice to me good
09:54to
09:54meet you Tim unleashing her creativity so if we like do like a rough sketch if we imagine it looking
10:01almost like a realistic sofa project manager Karishma over here somewhere there needs to be a speaker so
10:06the audio can come out and then we have a cushion right on team cat so our plan is essentially
10:13to make
10:13it look like a tree branching out so one stem two branches coming off with seating areas yeah and
10:20then a main pod at the top which is then branched over estate agent Kieran we're gonna have a mouse
10:26running around the artificial grass on discs and then we can have additional little things on that
10:30dangle wait what do cats like do you have any idea because I'm not actually sure what do they have
10:35like anything and everything or I don't my knowledge on that is very little so then I don't want we've
10:41got them out retailers to say they like cheese that's mouse right the mouse love cheese but the cat
10:49will be at the top chilling why would you oh yeah what does a cat log what toys can cats
10:57don't really
10:58like to play with many toys to be honest apple fruit fits in with tree they just love be I
11:05think stick
11:06with the fruit like it so basically just Apple and a banana West London at creative agency rpm chic canines
11:20or
11:21chic le chien karishma's branding crew I feel like with what Christmas said this morning chic le chien is
11:29very bougie that is a luxury brand search for a name with pedigree chic le chien chic is very much
11:38like
11:38Paris chic it's very like elegant the only thing is as a normal person would they get what that means
11:47if you're walking down the dog section yeah of course if you don't know French then you're not
11:51you're not going to know it and like that to me found sounds like a fancy French restaurant or
11:55something I don't speak French at all but chic is a very well-known word yeah elegant right
12:04um let's just because I know that obviously time is going to be on our side so chic le chien
12:08yeah
12:09just to confirm the brand name is going to be chic le chien the team wanted to add a bit
12:15of
12:16French flair to make their dog bed feel high-end but neither passion or Priya speak French and they're
12:21spelt chic incorrectly there's nothing chic about that I think if we can have the sheet bigger than
12:28the le chien yeah like that perfect across the hall I do really like oh my catty I think that's
12:37quite an edgy name for like a new pet brand coming to market flying solo on feline branding Dan
12:46just got to go with my gut feeling and go with what I think it's gonna be great so what
12:52what I
12:52would like it to look like I'd like it to be quite like bold that one on the far right
12:56there and then
12:58a huge exclamation mark at the end like a brand but we do something that looks something like this
13:03goes from large to small and large again something like this shape yeah I'm trying to not just think
13:09about one product I'm trying to think of like a whole brand name and conception I'd like to see
13:13it with maybe two bold lines underneath the actual lettering ah yeah and then I'd like to start playing
13:20around with some colors if that's okay maybe like a racing green and if I could just duplicate that
13:25whole thing because I want to switch it around I just want to see some ideas come to life
13:30I think this is quite a turning point for Dan Dan who's very corporate who plays it safe who never
13:36takes any risks he's come up with something quite catchy in terms of the name the logo design isn't
13:41terrible I mean he's taking ownership I like that can you zoom in on this third one at the bottom
13:48left
13:48this one yeah I think that one is my final masterpiece 2 p.m. so we've got a design we've
14:00got a logo
14:01catching up final name is chic le chien team dog okay awesome um can I just double check the spelling
14:11of
14:11chic le chien so it is sorry c-h-i-q-u-e that's not the spelling of chic when
14:22something looks chic and
14:23stylish we say c-h-i-c c-h-i-c really I thought chic was c-h-i-q
14:31-u-e that might just be the way I'm
14:35feeling it might just be like slang so now I'm actually not sure but I'm just gonna be positive
14:40that is a French way of spelling the word chic uh thank you guys so much bye I'm not gonna
14:49lie I
14:49know it's a stupid question but I would not spell chic this way I personally I don't speak French I
14:55wouldn't have used a word that I can't speak or you know I know myself do you know how would
14:59you
14:59usually spell it so it would be c-h-i-c c-h-i-c oh like chic like chic
15:06okay fine I don't actually
15:07know that makes sense if they spelt the first word of our logo incorrectly passion and Priya have made
15:14huge mistake a huge mistake that is not something that we can just you know sweep over it's the name
15:20of the brand I think we'd best be positive move on and yeah well yeah we'll see how it looks
15:24tomorrow
15:27design deadline looming the last thing we need to give Tim the measurement of is the height of this
15:33stone for Kieran's cat tree but that's a minimum 90 needs to be double that finishing touches I think
15:421.5 to get what we want you don't want to go too tall because people's apartments or houses the
15:49room
15:49might not be that tall it did trust me and I don't I wouldn't 1.6 meters high 1.6
15:55top of the tree
15:57yeah that's it can you discuss this with me before you do that is that too tall no no no
16:02that's not
16:02big enough I think you're getting very large that's as tall as me and most house plants are as tall
16:07as
16:07me this is what that's the that's the vision just okay trust me okay I'm not trust me every time
16:17Kieran measures his tree he adds more height to it or more width I mean at this stage you're gonna
16:23need a palace to put this thing in I mean it's huge well if I'm gonna stick to it to
16:29me let's
16:30increase this to 1,800 okay on the other team our body of the sofa will be this police material
16:39in
16:39the beige yeah laying out her vision for their luxury dog bed the cushion itself will be this
16:46sherpa faux fur leader of the pack Karishma the whole point of this is for owners to be able to
16:52communicate with their dogs and leave a nice message beautiful so if you write a rough script for this
16:57keep it short and sweet and this would be activated by yet sound like an ambulance going past fireworks
17:02something like that the dog would feel safe okay fine I think it's it's a clear vision that we should
17:07work with I don't think that trying to reinvent it from my side to the sake of looking busy is
17:11a good
17:11idea we're gonna say hey baby I miss you and then we do kisses yeah yeah exactly hey baby I
17:18miss you
17:19I'm running late but I'll be home soon love you so much see you soon bye Karishma is doing what
17:26Karishma does best coming up with ideas and leading from the front but this product's USP is pretty bold
17:31it's a talking dog bed and nobody is challenging her I hope the buyers are as convinced by it as
17:37the
17:37team are is that great or what one take one it's just the authenticity of it 4pm I think I
17:46do prefer
17:46for pour some friends it's quite a nice tagline brands built letting them hear and feel you when
17:52you can't feel them yeah it's a bit long is it designs signed off as a dog owner I would
17:59pay for
17:59that tomorrow try to get buyers to bite 8am I hope you like it it's quite an edgy logo that
18:11I did
18:11I mean it's definitely eye-catching yeah I like it I like it hoping their branding can fetch them a
18:17win actually really like the logo it's classy I love the paw print team dog if you can promise me
18:23that that is the correct spelling of the word yeah can you spell either way yeah I trust that and
18:27I'm
18:27ready to move on with that and then we've got the tagline which is and the first word it is
18:38letting them letting them hear and feel you when you can't feel them so I obviously do you think the
18:45tagline is a bit lengthy yeah you know most well-known brands go for a small one yeah one I'm
18:51not
18:51gonna lie it is very long the whole point of a tagline is to be memorable and in this case
18:57the
18:58people who made it couldn't even remember it I asked Priya and Pasha was the tagline and they both
19:02couldn't remember so for me it's it's a very big mistake on their part if during the pitch today I
19:08forget it someone step in and say it because I just don't think I'll remember it across the hall
19:14right the big unveil okay I'm excited the moment of truth Wow okay for Kieran's cat tree I think this
19:29is awesome yeah I I do find that the dome where the more I look at it is pretty huge
19:35don't speak I
19:37didn't realize it have such a huge surface area it's quite big I'm not sure how many houses this
19:43was fitting unless you have a huge house yeah but how the customers take it home would they pick it
19:48up
19:48in the shop can you put it in a car quite easily just order it online the overall size of
19:57the product I
19:57mean it's huge and I think especially if you are selling to consumers where they've got typically
20:03smaller flats especially in London I mean where the hell are you gonna put the thing so how's the
20:08cap gonna get in here for the other team oh I like there Karishma's talking dog bed hey baby I
20:26miss
20:26you I'm running late but I'll be home soon love you so much see you soon bye oh I love
20:32so one take
20:33it wonder from Karishma as well so this is gonna be audio activated any loud bang an ambulance knock
20:40on the door hey baby I miss you I'm running late but I'll be home soon love you so much
20:44see you soon
20:45bye also last minute change that I suggested we initially started with a round bed yeah then I was
20:52like hey baby I miss you I'm running late but I'll be home soon love you so much see you
20:57soon bye all right
20:59so obviously it does go off with quite sensitive sounds that's really annoying if it keeps going
21:10off so guys you know today's a big busy day we've got the pitch hey baby I miss you I'm
21:15just gonna
21:15switch that off love you so much see you soon bye bye and it's off 10 a.m. so we're
21:24obviously gonna do a
21:25social media video today they all go to consumer research get all the information before shooting
21:31their viral videos the half of each team a master class in content creation I've created quite a lot
21:40of social media content over the years with my pets I've got cats from social media supremo Zara
21:50McDermott some of my top tips are hook the viewer in the first three seconds could you ask a question
21:57does your cat do this does your dog do this another tip I've got is about humor humor cells that
22:04could
22:04be a really good way to increase engagement West London who have you liked the brand name six out of
22:14six okay that's really promising for team moggy so uh let's go and take a closer look at the product
22:19market research
22:28it's very tree
22:31I live in a studio flat this is way too big for studio flat
22:37for my cat for my cat to jump from here to this platform and then to come around in here
22:43I think
22:44that would be quite tough for her yeah I hear your thoughts a million dollar question is just a raise
22:49of hands would you buy this for your cats oh they just didn't really like the product at all it
23:02wasn't
23:02really fit for purpose it was a very similar fault to what I had this morning with it being too
23:06tall
23:07how's the cat gonna be able to jump up there and get out on the upside they love the brand
23:11name they
23:12love the logo and so I'm feeling like I did a great job okay so I'm gonna write that they
23:19can
23:20successfully jump out across town now tagline is letting them here and feel you when you can't feel
23:32them barking up the wrong tree from the tagline do you understand what the product would be not
23:38a clue no no okay Priyash and Lawrence so obviously our name is called chic that she so chic is
23:48another
23:48word for like classy glamour yeah it's just like a you know like you say something yes I think we're
23:55all familiar with the term chic but I've never seen it spelt like that I don't understand that at all
24:00chic is part of my everyday vocabulary yeah I'm French I think it's spelt ch-i-c and you should
24:06have it the other way around so le chien chic wrong way around okay so welcome to our dog bed
24:13you can
24:14record your voice and it will play that recording to sort of give the dog that sense of calm if
24:18you
24:19are not in the house and they hear you they will look for you I agree I think I would
24:24freak out the
24:24dogs more than anything okay so would you recommend this product to a friend no would you guys buy this
24:30product no do you like the idea of the audio function is it something you would use that was
24:40honestly unfortunately a car crash being shown up by spelling the name wrong by someone that's from
24:44France really embarrassing and the product very few positives on that side as well I think spinning
24:50that's going to be really really tough we are in a really bad place with that feedback just to be
24:55disappointed yeah I very much so I'm literally oh yeah carnage car crash I don't know what to call
25:00yeah chic less yeah oh fuck back at the house all right three two one action I'll be with you
25:10soon bye
25:10girl who's that he sounds cute while Karishma and Pasha shoot their viral video brown eyes blonde hair
25:19he's at home waiting for me so I just thought I'd leave him a cute little message chasing their tails
25:26what are the chances of getting him on a podium Rosner and Kieran could we get a shot of his
25:34head
25:34poking out of it that tree is really freaked him out with their star on strike right now we have
25:43to
25:43pivot we don't have much to go off of a change of direction I was thinking what might be cool
25:48for you
25:49to walk in on the camera but guys look at this my cat never goes out into the nature watch
25:53me bring the
25:53nature indoors we need like loads of ideas just so that when we're editing because obviously this
25:58is wasted time we can't just stand around yeah yeah just a lot of energy just sits at the window
26:05but
26:05never actually wants to go outside I am getting super nervous super stressed things aren't going
26:12exactly how I planned but we've pivoted and I'm ready to make it happen
26:21brilliant okay yes Kieran smile while you're doing that perfect
26:293 p.m ahead of the pitches hi everyone hi I'm good for both teams do you want to hear
26:38the bad news or
26:38the good news first let's go bad yeah a chance to check in none of them would buy the product
26:44none of
26:45them they said it was too tall not very accessible for the cats good news is is that they love
26:49the
26:49brand name the tagline they said it was really catchy I mean I love the branding because I because
26:54I created it for team dog I'm gonna be honest with you it was really bad the consumer feedback
27:00reality bites zero out of six understood what it did can you be a bit more specific in terms of
27:07like what what did what so zero out of six knew what the product was based on okay that's fine
27:12unfortunately the word we had a French guy there and the word chic is felt wrong it isn't spelt wrong
27:17no it is it is and it's in the wrong order as well it should be Lachian chic they just
27:22said oh no I've
27:23never seen it like that before so we just have to listen to what they said in terms of the
27:26beds none
27:27of them like the audio and they basically said it would freak out the dog and that was pretty much
27:32the
27:32feedback across the board I don't want to hear none of that yeah that's negative it's put me in a
27:35bad
27:36mood and take a deep breath in take a deep breath out and drop it because I have a dog
27:40she has a dog
27:41and we thought it was nice pitching time my neck is on the line here so let's get in there
27:48let's
27:48smash it and let's get some sales get that win come on okay waiting top dogs from the nation's biggest
27:55pet
27:56brands hands up if you love dogs oh amazing hoping to win over buyers with her luxury dog bed and
28:04do we
28:05have any furniture lovers in the room just the one everybody else sleeps on the carpet charisma I've
28:12had dogs my entire life I know what they love and I know what they love to feel and I
28:16said how do we
28:17make this connection between the human and the dog close up this is not just any sofa bed this is
28:23a
28:24literal talking sofa bed you can create a personalized message for your dog so that when you're away from
28:30the home any sound that may be disturbing they trigger the sound of your soothing calming and
28:35familiar voice hey baby I miss you I'm running late but I'll be home soon love you so much see
28:41you soon
28:41bye dogs will love it the dog owners will love it I'm gonna pass it over to Pasha here my
28:46colleague
28:46who's gonna tell you a bit more about our brand story
28:50now I'm hoping that you guys look at this and this gives you luxury the chic dog that is the
28:57goal the
28:57chic dog on the chic bed which is ultimately perfect if you like luxury if you like the higher things
29:03in
29:04life now you guys might be thinking chic is felt a little bit different to usual personally I feel
29:10like the normal spelling that you'd see a sheet is a little bit more slang it's a different way of
29:15spelling it and I feel like it just brings out that extra pop of French elegance I don't think
29:20anyone here speaks French but ultimately this is for dogs and le chien means dog thank you thank you
29:29Pasha so without further ado I'm gonna play our social media campaign video that we did today
29:35I'll be with you soon hi girl who's that he sounds cute girl let me tell you brown eyes
29:42and blonde hair so I left him a little voice note he's at home waiting for me on the sofa
29:49I'm running late but I'll be with you soon bye
29:53I would love to open the floor to any questions
29:56um I think the audio feature is really appealing I slightly worry that's going to be confusing for
30:04the dog perhaps over stimulate it rather than calm the dog down and science has proven that dogs like
30:10to sit on surfaces that smell like their owners science will hopefully soon prove that dogs like
30:15to listen to the voice of their owners when they're gone across town does anyone else's cat do this just
30:22sits at the window it doesn't actually go outside also hoping to impress Kieran's cat crew as you can
30:34see we've created a one one-of-a-kind cat tree we wanted to make this big just so it's
30:43it's more
30:44comfortable for your pet and our finished product definitely will catch eyes when you have visitors
30:50into your house and it will also blend away next to your house plants if you don't want it to
30:56be
30:56on show too much now I know it's quite literally a cat tree and there's a reason for that we
31:02thought
31:02why not bring a little bit of the nature indoors they want to have a little play around by themselves
31:06they can or they can go and have a little rest in there we'd love to open it up some
31:12questions to
31:13hear what you guys think so I was wondering about this size if you guys thought about like how
31:19customers could carry at home the item isn't the lightest I'll be completely honest so whether or not
31:27you can offer a delivery service or they can arrange for someone to pick it up separately that's on them
31:33however it is something that stands out makes people stop look and buy
31:43introductions over teams have one hour to tempt buyers into big orders on team dog because you
31:53guys are a global brand would you thinking around the like 3,000 4,000 mark while Lawrence and Priyash
31:59failed to get a bite doesn't really match what our customer wants so we won't be placing an order
32:05with you Pasha draws on her past connections I've actually worked at pets a home that was my first job
32:13four years ago when I was 17 I understand the area you feels like has anxiety this is a natural
32:19way of
32:20potentially calming your dog down have you got evidence that the owners voice without the owner being present does do
32:26that
32:27we don't actually have this is such new technology there's mixed opinions we are waiting for there to be
32:32research on how dogs respond to this kind of audio I think I'm just questioning yeah so the problem you've
32:38identified and whether this is actually the right the right solution and on that basis we probably
32:43wouldn't be placing any orders okay I appreciate that but even just a few hundred units 100 200 so
32:50I just think there's too big a gap between the evidence you've got and what this product can
32:55deliver it's a car crash to be honest with you the problem that we're coming up against is the
33:01practicality of the audio we're saying that it de-stresses animals but realistically we have
33:06no facts to prove that disappointing yeah they we did our best let's go to the next I've got
33:11much quicker with these ones across town be great to hear a little bit about what you thought of it
33:17and potentially if you could see it in your in your stores also in talks with industry top cats Dan
33:24we would
33:25be interested because we love innovative products and there is innovation there it's quite unique to
33:31get a cat tree which is interactive we do sell a huge amount of cat trees every year and very
33:36much a test
33:37purchase for us we're about 2,000 units is there um I thought to do an exclusivity deal with you
33:42guys is
33:42there a potential at most we might go to maybe 2,300 if it was exclusive yeah okay well um
33:48for
33:49exclusivity we need a few thousand more really um be delighted to accept your offer I will shake on
33:532,000 orders okay thank you very much thank you I think Dan's approach to pets at home one of
33:58the
33:58largest retailers here was very gentle very friendly I mean he secured an order of 2,000 but far too
34:05quickly and if he did just kept pushing I'd be certain he'd got a much bigger number than he ended
34:10up with I think 2,000 is good yeah they seem to genuinely love the product really well done mate
34:17on team dog is there anything we can do just to get sort of a trial order of maybe around
34:22the sort of
34:23thousand mark while PR man Lawrence sells himself no our clients are really discerning I'm sorry
34:29you're a good salesman thank you for us in talks with supermarket giant Tesco we've done a great
34:37job making a product that makes dogs feel safer Pasha and Kourishma dogs spend their whole lives
34:43serving us and we took this so personally how do we give back to the dog look obviously you guys
34:49are
34:49super passionate about the product and that kind of link on the audio something we've never seen
34:54before because this is such new and futuristic technology we're hoping to push around 5,000 units
35:00today closer to a thousand is what we were thinking this is going to be something that people want in
35:04their home as something that they love so could I push you more towards 3,500 we could maybe push
35:10to
35:101,300 units but that would be the max okay could I be super cheeky push for 1,500 we'd
35:17be so happy
35:17it's a nice gorgeous round juicy number and we'd both be very happy about this conversation that sounds like a
35:23deal
35:25I love that and I know dogs around the country will love it too while Kourishma collars a deal on
35:31the
35:31other team I saw lots of lovely smiles from you lovely ladies I'm hoping it was all positive still to
35:37secure a single sale what did you think of the products Ross now the way of it is bothering us
35:44a
35:45lot the way in the size you know I think we would need a forklift to make a customer today
35:51so you're
35:53right it's a little bit heavy I'm gonna be honest with you for me it's about replicating nature trees
35:58are tall let's try and allow the cat to see how big nature truly is and then eventually they might
36:03be able to come out with you on walks you know but the other thing was that the cat would
36:07fall
36:08to purchase any wouldn't be able to get in stretch across to get into the bed why don't you try
36:15it
36:15out in each of your store and see if that is something that you feel like you could invest
36:18but our problem is the size that we wish you the very best thank you thank you very much thank
36:23you
36:24hey guys don't worry don't worry move on yeah about it we go to the next 20 minutes to go
36:32when I first saw
36:34it I thought it should have been in a vivarium because I was expecting a snake or a visitor to
36:38be happy for both teams the audio aspect for some dogs it might actually encourage them to search out
36:43their owner a final push for sales it's very very unique and very innovative if we could take a small
36:50risk on maybe three no thank you okay yeah we absolutely love love love for you to believe in
36:55our product as much as we do because this would change dog lives I mean I think for today we're
37:00not
37:00looking to place an order how how many would you guys as well as it is lean on we love
37:06the concept
37:06but the products not there yet you're both so it's good the kind feedback is lovely do you know it's
37:12lovely a big order just one in the store could create a whole bundle of excitement online go with
37:1950 thank you very much problem we were thinking something around sort of the 1500 mark we'll go to
37:251100 11 for an offer thank you very much I think that's a well done a pleasure thank you guys
37:30so
37:30much thank you so much thank you sir yeah right guys 6 p.m. we've done the best that we
37:38can I mean
37:39we've squeezed as much as we can out of them sales over he's a bit disappointing but I'm hoping that
37:44we
37:44did enough Kieran wasn't the right project manager really for this task and you know if we do lose he's
37:50obviously sealed his fate but ultimately one of the person in his team is going to be walking home
37:53tomorrow as well we've done our best there was actually nothing more that we could have done
37:57yeah exactly if we lose tomorrow and I get brought back I am fighting fighting for my life bring it
38:04on
38:04because I'm sticking around tonight orders totted up tomorrow in the boardroom claws out
38:19one thing to show is that is anyone's going to that don't think anyone can call it either way and
38:23you know
38:24what we've made it to task 10 we should all be very proud of ourselves not long now guys we
38:28find out
38:28that final fight the deal was we're in a walk what a common that was in the heat of the
38:35moment you regret it
38:36or no if we haven't done enough I'll be regretting it I'm really nervous I gave it my all in
38:46this task
38:47and I just don't know what way it's gonna go I'm definitely not come here to leave at the last
38:53hurdle
38:53I've come here to make an impact and I'm gonna make sure that this final boardroom I make it count
38:58this is the most stressed and I should have been before a boardroom and pm is week 10 it's literally
39:04go hard or go home you can go through to the boardroom now
39:25so this task was to design an accessory for a pet yeah so let's start with team alpha
39:40Karishma you became the project manager and decided to make a dog bed yeah absolutely so we
39:47wanted to create something that fits into the realm of dog care and also furniture something
39:53people would accept in their living rooms as not just something for their dog but something that
39:57fits with the luxury theme that looks like a British Airways first-class seat actually at least it's
40:05the main feature being the USP is the technology feature inside it's an audio feature which allows
40:11the owner's voice to be transmitted to the dog when the dog's at home alone so if there's a bang
40:16on the door fireworks an ambulance outside the audio feature would be triggered what about if I was to
40:22go hey baby I miss you I'm running late but I'll be home soon love you so much see you
40:28soon bye
40:29yeah that's it that's that's that's the voice yeah but this dog is laying in there and like a bang
40:37of
40:37lightning or something like that might sit it off yeah if it's loud enough yeah you're your dog shit
40:44sues itself so who designed this thing so Lawrence and I designed the product itself Pasha and Priya went
40:54off to do the branding right and what's the branding so the name of our brand is called chic
40:59alishian and that basically means the chic dog shit oh it's a funny spelling isn't it and so I do
41:10believe that that is an alternating way of spelling chic and it looks more French and the ch ic was
41:19a bit
41:19more of a slang a slang spelling um but I just try to back it up remind me of del
41:26boy doing a bit of
41:27French you know that mongey too yeah what's that can someone read out that tagline from I can't see it
41:35so it's letting them hear and feel you when you can't feel them so it was incorporating the storyline
41:43and it's not as long isn't it long yeah it's longer than a dog lead the idea of an advert
41:48or a logo is
41:50you know as you get it straight away yeah uh do I get that it's got anything to do with
41:55dogs
41:57no um anyway you then do a a social media um clip right and who did that that was Pasha
42:07and myself
42:07right shall we see it I'll be with you soon bye girl who's that he sounds cute so brown eyes
42:16blonde hair so I left him a little voice note he's at home waiting to be on the sofa
42:29right so explain to me the rationale behind it so what we wanted was to create a girl's brunch
42:35they're talking about a boy he's got blonde hair he's got brown eyes the audience feels the dog that
42:41was the dog the whole time okay so then you go and do some consumer research who did that that
42:48was
42:48myself and pre-ational trigger and you had some bit of a negative feedback there didn't you yeah
42:54they didn't really like the product at all they said that the audio clip would freak out the dog
42:58hmm but out of the six how many would buy one zero that's very encouraging isn't it right let's go
43:09over to this other team eclipse now then kieran I remember you saying to me at the end of the
43:15last
43:16board meeting win or walk basically walkies yeah yeah uh I mean this is week 10 so you've used up
43:24your
43:25your nine lives okay tell me what happened so what our plan was to bring nature indoors because you
43:31get a lot of indoor house cats these days and Dan's idea initially was the tree I think what we
43:36try to
43:36do is give cats a real nature feel to it because obviously they don't tend to go outside a lot
43:41I
43:41thought the cats do go outside they get lost and they don't come back I think that shows Rossner's
43:46knowledge of yeah cats I mean I try cats don't go outside roughly you've got a fear of animals
43:52haven't you yeah I'm a bit of a phobia but I was still excited for the task you're petrified I
43:59think
44:00I managed to conquer it a little bit she's done very well with the cat thank you anyway just tell
44:05me who designed this tree myself and Rothner went to design the tree it's a bit big looks like you
44:11needed planning consent from the council so the plan was obviously a lot of people have house plants
44:18so our thought was you know you've got a cat tree and a house plant why don't we combine the
44:23two it
44:25is large but then it's two items in one I did the thing that I loved working with Kieran but
44:31when it
44:31came down to sizing I did say to him multiple times is it going to be too big and he
44:35just kept saying
44:35trust me which I did trust in bigger bigger ones you kept adding more and more height yet it started
44:42off quite small and it ended up six foot yeah you won't miss it go big or go home right
44:47yeah
44:49stating the obvious you have to be a very very very athletic cat to get up the top there no
44:54I disagree
44:56what did you get one to do it let's let's work out how it's bit up Dan you were put
45:02on branding
45:03right yeah okay and the logo was oh my catty yeah and must they lit was a sting on the
45:10awesome friends
45:11well this it's short isn't it um yeah and the market research wasn't very good was it I think
45:19yeah because we were chatting to a lot of people who were living in London they just said that they
45:22couldn't see this in their house just because it's too big um there were some positives from the consumer
45:27research in terms of the logo the brand name and the tagline I mean I suppose they loved that
45:36that's your product that made you feel very very happy let's have a look at your social media does
45:44anyone else's cat do this just sits at the window it doesn't actually go outside
46:02it jumped a bit didn't it so the story behind it is the cat's looking outside
46:08it can't go outside so we've brought nature inside and that's why you can see all the greening outside
46:12the window even with the cat I think you were quite disappointed that he wasn't behaving in the same
46:16way and time was running out I just had to be like Kieran we just need to pivot and I
46:20actually said
46:20Kieran do what we can right okay how was the project manager was he like a loose cannon or what
46:26I think
46:27he was he had really great ideas but I feel like he ran he runs behaving like chairman meow the
46:34tough
46:35part of working with Kieran was that he has a lot of great ideas but he's going at a thousand
46:39miles per
46:39hour yeah well okay let's see how we did Joey this is the most important thing so we start off
46:49with
46:50Karen can you tell me how this team did with their retailers well four of the six retailers placed orders
47:00oh that's good yeah and the total number of orders was 2058 right Tim exactly the same thing well they
47:14pitched to all of them and unfortunately they only managed to secure two orders from the six
47:22totaling amount of 2600 what yeah well okay dear oh dear oh dear it's a shame you don't realize
47:37that you left a load of orders on the table pets at home would have ordered 3500 right and the
47:46message
47:47there is you didn't push them enough you gave in too early let's go walkies we had a deal we've
47:56got a deal
47:59thank you for the opportunity thank you for the opportunity well done Karen all the best guys
48:13well you lots um you could all go back to the house because obviously it goes without saying that
48:20you're in the final five thank you love sugar how you made it I don't know I haven't got I
48:27haven't got a
48:28bloody clue you're a lucky charm you really are I hope my business plan though well we'll soon see
48:34about that yeah okay go back to the uh go back to the house thank you good luck guys good
48:40luck well done
48:43thank you look like two very intelligent candidates left here you will realize that there's only room
49:06for one of you when you come back in this boardroom we're gonna have a more of a deeper dive
49:12in what
49:13your business ideas are and then I shall decide which one of you is leaving the process yes off you
49:21go
49:28oh my god I am absolutely gassed right now can't wait for like our business plans to be
49:36ripped two shreds we've got a seat at the table at final five like when I tell you from Hong
49:44Kong to
49:45here these girls have grown so mad they could be a winner in this car I know it was win
49:53or war I'm not
49:54a bag I'm not gonna beg for my place a deal's a deal and Lord sugar hasn't seen last me
50:04well Dan started off quiet but it's turned out to be quiet intelligent person hasn't he I look at for
50:11Dan this really was a game of two halves half of it the logo the name the brand got some
50:19really good
50:19feedback but on the other hand pets at home if pushed they would have ordered three and a half thousand
50:26so he left 1,500 orders on the table and that is not good mmm and Rothner listen I really
50:33like
50:34Rothner I think she's a good candidate and she really is a calming influence among some of the
50:38chaos that happens but unfortunately Dan and Kieran did actually manage to take orders I mean she got
50:44no orders she spoke to two retailers and got zero mmm yes could you send the two of them in
50:53please
51:04right so I'll start with you Dan and unbeknown to you you left orders on the table now you started
51:12off with pets at home why did you leave it at 2k yeah I can only apologize that I didn't
51:18push them hard
51:19enough but I felt like that I did ask them for for more units but some what about Finn and
51:24fur what
51:25happened there you and then he bought three oh yeah so that I kept that quite short just purely because
51:31there was small business I knew they weren't going to place huge quantities so you know they placed
51:361100 with the other team yeah they did they've got big online presence now Rothner I've got your CV here
51:45okay it says here best business skills confident in negotiating it says you didn't negotiate anything
51:55there I did try my hardest and I was honestly very disappointed in myself however I don't think for
52:02me the issue actually was the negotiation it was just the fact that they disliked the product it's it's
52:06just too big and the dimensions were a little bit off you went with Kieran to keep an eye on
52:12him as you put it
52:13you know you didn't keep an eye on him did you really you let him build that thing if it
52:18would
52:18have been four foot tall you'd have been out of cell loads why did you just not put your foot
52:23down he
52:24just kept saying trust me and he kept looking at me as if I'm being a hindrance good good you
52:29should
52:29have been a hindrance yeah and I regret that I really do it's like being on a sinking ship you're
52:34up to
52:35here with Walter and you think no I'm not gonna listen to your captain anymore so why shouldn't I fire
52:42you
52:42Dan I think over the past 10 tasks I know it's taken me a little while to get into the
52:48process
52:48but I feel like that I've learned a lot you know I've taken a really huge risk coming into here
52:53I've left my business that I've been growing for the past eight years why you do that then why'd
52:56you taken the risk then because I've not really had a mentor or guidance in the business world
53:01everything I've done I've done it myself yeah and the market that I'm in I know it really well I
53:05know it's got huge potential there's multi-million pound contracts with government and huge
53:09organizations that I want to be able to unlock and I feel like with your with your expertise and
53:14kind of support multi-million you reckon yeah yeah hmm and uh Rosna now your art business idea is
53:22bespoke cake studio which is like was it wedding cakes isn't it yeah it's wedding cakes but also
53:27another side of it is having like a subway style for cake so you come in choose your sponge choose
53:32your
53:33buttercream and your toppings basically tailoring each cake slice to the individual and I do see it
53:38expanding as a franchise if I'm completely honest if the experts are able to rip into my business
53:43and I'm happy I love a business plan I go above and beyond in all that I do and I'll
53:48make sure
53:49that I make this business a success with your guidance I'll give you 10 out of 10 for
53:53putting yourself forward well look only one of you can go through to the final five I have to consider
54:04what's the best option for me at the moment yeah quite a bit of a dilemma here Rothner one can't
54:14ignore the fact that you didn't sell anything no sugar I was I don't want to hear anymore at the
54:20moment
54:21Dan looking at the sales had you'd push pets out your team would have won so it's a tough one
54:29however
54:31um Rothner you sold nothing and at least Dan did sell 2,000 pieces so you've been really impressive
54:40in this process but I have to tell you that regretfully your journey is over now you're fired
54:49thank you very much for the opportunity good luck Rothner thank you
55:01so Dan you you're through to the final five you know what that means you're gonna have to be
55:07grilled by my advisors so I wish you luck as far as that's concerned okay well thank you thank you
55:15okay thank you well done I'm guided however I've done this whole thing with integrity and I'm really
55:26proud of the way I conducted myself you know this isn't the end for me if anything I'm going to
55:30utilize
55:31everything that I've learned from this and just go on to be successful I actually don't have a clue
55:37who's going to come back I think both of them are going to be fighting very very hard it literally
55:41is the final five interviews are next so I think can he see himself yeah okay well look obviously it
56:03was really upsetting for me to see Rothner go because she put up a really really great fight
56:06you know like you guys know I was so quiet in the beginning and I remember like in the hotel
56:15before
56:15we left Hong Kong everyone was eating in the hotel having dinner and there wasn't enough space on the
56:21table so I was sitting by myself and then I don't think I would have got this far without her
56:29she's a
56:29really top person she yeah really loved but what they did say to me when I left is that we're
56:35gonna
56:35get a really big grilling on our business plans so they said be prepared wow yeah now five candidates
