00:01The State Government asked the fuel companies to provide information about stock levels,
00:06etc., voluntarily. Not all that information was received, which prompted the Energy Minister
00:12to issue a direction under emergency powers. This was complied with last week and the Department
00:18is currently analysing that information to get a sense of future stock levels in the
00:26State. This is about distribution within NSW, what happens to the fuel once it's here, where
00:31it gets to and ensuring it does reach all four corners of the State. There have been some
00:37regional areas where there have been outages. This is about informing the Government about
00:43what measures it may take. The Energy Minister has extraordinary powers, which include directing
00:49who can buy fuel, where it must be sold to, as well as restricting its use.
00:54I hope that I don't have to act, but what we are doing is doing all of the analysis so
00:58that plans are in place. Look, the issue here is at the moment we've got enough supply. Supply
01:03is coming in, but if there becomes a drop off at some point in time that we cannot predict,
01:07that we're ready to go to make sure that we can allocate fuel in the way that we need
01:11to to keep the economy going. The Government says there are 34 fuel stations
01:16across NSW that have run out of all kinds of fuel. 229 have run out of at least one kind
01:23of diesel. For context, there are 2,400 service stations across the State. For now, the advice
01:29remains to only buy what fuel you need and to try to catch public transport where possible.
01:36People are taking action already. Some people are taking public transport. I think the latest
01:40figures are that it's up about 4% in terms of more public trips. We know that some road
01:46trips are down. And we also know that there's been an uptake in interest on e-bikes and e-scooters.
01:51The State Government has already brought in changes to the freight industry to allow longer
01:56trucks with heavier roads. This is designed to improve the efficiency of diesel use in
02:01New South Wales. We're currently at stage two of the four-stage national plan. The next stage,
02:07we understand, would be triggered if fuel supplies to Australia were cut off entirely. Yesterday,
02:14the Energy Minister said that Australia had shipments of fuel secured well into May. But if one thing is
02:22certain about this conflict, it's that every day remains uncertain.
02:27the State Government, which I think is the UNED government. And this is the UNED government looks
02:27have a lot of people who think they can ask them to them. A great question for us, but it's
02:28important for us to take advantage of the UNED government. And we're going to continue to
02:28acknowledge the UNED government's business to ensure that you can experience
02:29that more than the UNED government indeed. And we're going to put the UNED government, and we're going to
