Legislation to halve the fuel excise is on track to pass federal parliament tonight, but it could take days for the savings to flow through to the petrol pump. In New South Wales, motorists are being encouraged to report servos whose prices don't match the FuelCheck website. Dozens of penalty notices have already been handed out as authorities crack down on dodgy retailers.
