00:00Here's an interesting update for Helldivers 2 players.
00:03The CEO of Arrowhead recently admitted that the studio didn't invest enough in the game's
00:08underlying engine during development.
00:11Shams Georgiani admits, we've under-invested in our tech while developing Helldivers 2.
00:16The engine, called Autodesk Stingray, actually stopped getting updates back in 2018, but
00:22they kept building the game on it anyway.
00:24For a time, this wasn't necessarily a problem, but an extended period of stacked updates
00:30and changes without massaging everything into the underlying technology took its toll on
00:36Helldivers 2, leading to a laundry list of problems.
00:39The good news, though?
00:40Arrowhead says things have already improved a lot, but they're still not happy with the
00:45current state.
00:46According to Georgiani, things can, and will, get better.
00:49These hurdles haven't slowed down the additions to Helldivers 2.
00:53We're still getting fresher enemies, missions, and storytelling flourishes.
00:57The cyborgs were in Freedom's crosshairs last month, and we're waiting to see what enemies
01:01emerge next.
01:02So it's nothing Super Earth can't handle, really.
