00:00Mara Chairman Ashraf Wajdi Duzuki today announced that his lawsuit against Masjid Tanah MP Mas Ermiyati Samsuddin
00:08over claims related to the agency's fund management had been settled through a consent judgment.
00:14In a Facebook post, Ashraf said the consent judgment was recorded before Judicial Commissioner Isa Aziz Ibrahim at the Melaka
00:23High Court.
00:23He said, this can serve as a meaningful lesson to all to act responsibly and refrain from making defamatory statements
00:31that can damage reputations and undermine institutions.
00:35He said Mas Ermiyati admitted that she had made false and defamatory statements against him and Mara.
00:42He added that she agreed to issue a written apology, retract her statements,
00:47remove all related video postings across her social media platforms
00:51and pay RM50,000 in damages to Mara.
00:55He said the damages would be used for the benefit of Mara's students as previously pledged.
01:01Ashraf sued Mas Ermiyati last year over a series of allegations,
01:06including claims that he was not funding technical and vocational education and training students.
