35:30so a little bit upset and scared to what's going to happen in the boardroom today
35:35i brought cornerback to the boardroom last week he's definitely going to bring me back if we lose
35:40it's game on i'm ready for a war i feel like i'm walking into a lion's den with nothing to
35:45defend
35:45myself with it is a live tv selling challenge i'm not sure if i sold anything so that leaves me
35:50in a
35:50pretty vulnerable position you can go through to the boardroom now
36:13so tv shopping um team alpha i believe that karishma you wanted to be the project manager
36:24is that right yes lord sugar but then again pasha you haven't been a project manager have you you kind
36:30of like ducked it um i was waiting for the right task i haven't got experience live selling however
36:35i do have a big following on tiktok and i do have a social media present so you know i
36:42just felt
36:42like my skills and abilities would be best for this this sort of task so pasha's passion versus karishma's
36:50charisma yeah and i think we worked really well together okay so product selection the structure
36:57that i went in with is i want a high cost item and a low cost item if we can
37:02sell just a few of
37:03the high cost items potentially that could be the reason that we win the task so what you ended up
37:08with
37:08was the headphones the water flosser um and table tennis yeah so where was your luck um karishma while
37:16this all this was going on so lawrence and i spoke of the jewelry expert we were also joined with
37:22rothana and dan um we kind of were competing to get the product we wanted um we expressed our interest
37:28in the mid-range item you mean the ring the ring the tanzanite ring i was watching you uh selling
37:34that
37:34stuff apparently there was 11 in stock or something like that is that right yeah yeah um
37:42there still is 11 in stock there is at the moment yeah because i'm afraid you didn't succeed and then
37:48one
37:48the reasons i think you didn't succeed was because in my opinion you missed out the point of who you
37:54were selling to it should be love it should be about you know a gift for somebody instead you start
38:01giving them a a geographic um description of where it comes from who gives a about that
38:10not exactly lord of the rings there my friend not quite no i mean in fairness krishma knew a lot
38:16about
38:16the rings and i think there was a bit of scarcity because um it only comes from a very small
38:21area
38:22anyway i think the first people on your team was you and you with the headphones right
38:29correct okay and in the gallery was them two correct yeah and silence i heard you sat there doing
38:37nothing for a while krishma you were close to mike do you do you agree with that um so we
38:44were
38:45instructed was you getting much feedback initially um initially to be honest my earpiece was cutting
38:51out every it wasn't cutting out they weren't talking okay well i mean my noise cancelling headphones
38:57it sounded like you must have had noise cancelling microphones in there anyway let me come on to
39:04the flosser yeah i was very confident selling it just because i have it at home and i did want
39:09to
39:10have food there as well which unfortunately i saw that you had some spinach you stick some in your
39:16mouth right and then you get the machine blow on it and then you take it out your mouth with
39:21your
39:22fingers again yeah it was very very very good yeah the water power coming out it was powerful i could
39:28use it to clean my car yeah yeah and then there's the ping pong i like that ping pong thing

39:35thinking of setting it up in here for me and uh to play um you sold 28 of those actually
39:43yeah anyway
39:44there we are so team eclipse now connor you ended up with what i will call the core machine uh

39:53correct boring uh and the shoe dryer unusual item right um so you start off um connor with the um
40:04the core
40:05circus you look like you're having an argument with an ironing board actually yeah i definitely um
40:11look i came in with high energy and passion and i was hoping to shift that by using my energy
40:15then you then you call upon dan he comes in done a few bits and pieces and then went off
40:22we were we were we were doing a couple to work out at one stage i was doing pilates and
40:26dan was doing
40:26some core exercises so yeah i do i do think it was sellable i just probably didn't do myself justice
40:32hmm moving on from there then so you had the um bracelet you looked like you're putting on
40:39handcuffs at one stage a lot you lost the key you're fumbling around dan did very well also
40:48in terms of he was engaging with the customers and saying their names actually saying which
40:51were the key yeah when you that was it was quite clever that when we said thank you for the
40:55order and
40:56all that oh they got some orders did they oh yeah they got some orders for it um i was
41:00extremely proud
41:01of dan for putting himself out of his comfort zone almost and really applying himself he exceeded
41:06probably all of our expectations oh there you go compliments there dan that's very kind compliments
41:11all right um moving on we've got uh kieran on the uh yoga mat yoga mat and that i mean
41:19i've got to tell
41:19you that was painful my friend painful did you say i'll do that one i said i i i would
41:26do that one
41:28um but i also offered to take a high end it looked like a thick doormat to me
41:34it's yeah as yoga mats go it wasn't bad yeah can i just add low sugar i expected that the
41:40boys would
41:40probably pick an item that they were personally really confident selling kieran's great at selling
41:44so i was pretty shocked that he was just going to be selling the mats but then he was confident
41:48he could
41:49sell them in large quantity okay well moving on we went to the most unusual item the shoe dryer
41:58uh which levi uh took the role that's right lord sugar yeah that's correct i mean it's an unusual item
42:04in fact i bought one for my wife for christmas so she's going to be delighted with it i'm sure
42:10when she opens it up so she's going to throw that straight back at you yeah
42:16i mean you're putting shoes on the wrong way around pouring water in trainers
42:21um to be fair lord sugar and um butch cassidy it comes running in at the end uh to help
42:28you out
42:29you know it was quite hard to get me bearings to be fair lord sugar it were in in gallery
42:34it sounded like
42:35like somebody ate the microphone and uh people just shouting and then yeah it would hard to concentrate
42:42try and get a point across whilst getting loading the ear hmm right okay well um it's that time now
42:51let's have a look and see how we did shall we so um thing you should know about tv selling
43:02is that you
43:03may have expectations of what you think you sold but as you know people change their minds right so
43:11i've now got the real confirmed figures from the shopping channel so tim can you tell me the final
43:19results of your team well you mentioned a number of sales have been made but unfortunately not all
43:24of those sales went through including the one high priced item of the core crusher that was almost
43:31sold but somebody pulled out but they still managed to sell 18 products giving them a total sales on the
43:38day of 773 pounds and 82 cents well done everyone right okay good karen same question how did your team
43:47get on well unfortunately not all of their sales went through either um including one of the high priced
43:54headphones um and their highest priced item alan the ring you know they they didn't sell any of those at
44:01all um but they did still manage to sell 40 items across the hour totaling eight hundred and ninety
44:11three pounds and sixty pence right well done team alpha your first time as a project manager and you
44:21pulled it through yeah okay make your way back to the house i'll see you on the next house okay

45:23one of the things though that i did say in strategy is like bringing high energy was great but i

45:27ultimately what you two failed to do was to harness it in the correct way we sold me
45:32yeah and i accept i didn't you guys only sold two units i had a roll up bit of phone

45:36connor sold nothing kieran didn't sell a lot and he's supposed to be an amazing salesperson and quite
45:41frankly i don't really know what levi is good at other than being a great guy the one person i
45:44will
45:44disappointed in kieran is you i have to say i've worked with you and i thought you're great
45:48when you're presenting i honestly thought you you'd do a bit better just because we found the task for
45:52lack of instruction and no sales kieran loves to deflect and he loves to say he can't do something at
45:57the last moment he said he'd take a high ticket item just as we were heading out the door as
46:00he
46:00sounded enthusiastic about the yoga mat i gave it to him then he said maybe not i can't do yoga
46:04the reality is is that we didn't make enough sales it's down to selling i mean myself and rovner sold
46:09the
46:09most and i know it wasn't loads but we sold high ticketed items and sold multiple of them i would
46:14have
46:14thought with lower ticketed items we could have sold a few more the failure in this task lies with
46:17project manager connor and kieran the polar opposites they don't work well together in it and it showed
46:34in this task yes would you send the candidates in please
46:50well uh you lot lost by 120 pounds which
46:57it's not a lot of money now alpha sold 40 products
47:02and you sold 18 only so connor the core machine that you demonstrated the last time the professional
47:12presenter did it they sold 55 yeah so so my plan with the core circuit yoga was two two target
47:20audience the older or maybe new to fitness and then the more experienced user of fitness like myself
47:25i demonstrated as someone who's maybe avid in fitness and wants to use it to enhance their
47:29workouts maybe after a cardio session i think it implied you had to be very fit to use it yeah
47:33um anybody i'm not surprised you were sweating because you hadn't sold any yeah definitely i did
47:39give it my all it did give my energy and i hold my hands up i'm disappointed as pm that
47:43i didn't sell
47:43one item i mean dan walking in it looked like you called in a bloke from from it you know
47:48now then um
47:50um rothner and dan the bracelets um you only sold three they usually sell 21 in that slot i am
48:02disappointed that we only ended up selling three of them i did really believe in the product and
48:06i hoped it come across if you'd have got the ring and sold three of them yeah like you sold
48:11three of
48:11the bracelets you would have won so we didn't why didn't you get the ring we we thought maybe connor
48:16might
48:16find the ring a bit too expensive he was quite clear about asking for a mid-range item but may
48:21he
48:21do when we know when i asked for numbers in the brainstorm he didn't give any numbers a mid-range
48:25my mid-range could be very different to your mid-range your role was to pick deal of the day
48:29so
48:29what what she's trying to say is that it was left to our own devices to pick what we thought
48:33was the
48:33most sensible item that we could sell on tv but that's what that's why you replaced and you pick the
48:38cheapest yeah um now moving on the yoga mat this company has sold 390 in the last session you sold
48:49six and you say you are a um super salesman exactly i'm a salesman yeah absolutely um we didn't sell
48:58many did you so i did offer to swap the high-end item i was told no were you not
49:03extremely enthusiastic
49:04about the yoga mat i said i could take i said i wasn't mate i'd done the setups i'd done
49:08a few
49:08press-ups exactly i was levi come in to perform on the mat right at the end you should have
49:13sent
49:14him in earlier it were a bit painful to watch so i looked at galleries you were painful to watch
49:18my
49:18friend you were really painful to watch all the way around including the shoe dryer thing i mean
49:24what a bloody product that is and you know what they usually sell 300 in a session 300 i've never
49:31heard of and you sold three i did try to explain about the shoe drying properties but when i had
49:37somebody like team shouting in my ears i had kieran walking towards me they were very distracted for
49:42me well one of the comments from a viewer was that this is a joke i'm flabbergasted i can't watch
49:48it
49:48anymore they tuned out right and i have to say i was flabbergasted also i think it was diabolical
49:55i do believe that um on reflection it is um
50:03it's actually time i've i've won most at task lord sugar well no you didn't win them you didn't
50:08win them you didn't you was on winning teams so so you know what um levi um it is with

51:33but he didn't make the sales the important thing on this task was to convert the products to something
51:38that the audience wanted and unfortunately made such a hash of that mat nobody bought anywhere near
51:44the numbers that you said you got from the channel themselves then the man obviously they sold three
51:51bracelets had they instead of chosen the ring and sold three rings they would have won i mean he was
51:56with rothner when they picked it maybe they didn't engage the buyers as well as they could have um
52:02connor well connor's a great talker he emphasized his ability in front of the camera but he wasn't
52:08that good behind the camera unfortunately a lot of this does rest on his shoulders could you stand the
52:16three of them in please so on this task connor you were the project manager you've been a project
52:33manager twice right and regretfully you lost twice why have you brought these two back in then um when i
52:42made my selection i reviewed the entire process that we've made it here um when it comes to kieran
52:47in fairness to kieran kieran has grabbed the bull by the horns and he's really applied himself but at
52:52times he's being called difficult to work with and disruptive so in terms of looking for your next
52:55apprentice i just don't know if he would be the correct candidate everyone works with people
52:59differently correct yeah and that's that's not my decision to make but that's just my perspective
53:04when it came to dan dan was slow to get into the process and maybe didn't apply himself every week
53:09to
53:10the extent that me personally has well i mean this was a selling task um myself i sold 300 pounds
53:15worth
53:15of stuff they sold 60 pounds between both and i think throughout the whole of this process i know
53:19it took me a little while to settle into it but this has been a big learning curve for myself
53:23i've
53:23developed a lot of skills i've learned how to work with people but i wouldn't necessarily usually
53:26work with and i think i've really grown in this process in terms of becoming a better business
53:30business person for yourself or each other hmm kieran super salesman sold six been on the losing
53:38side five times yes lord sugar i've put myself forward for a lot of things i haven't shied away
53:45and i've given everything my all some it's the team effort not just an individual effort so where
53:50i might have small wins the team may not always win hmm right well here we have a dilemma really
53:58i have
53:58to make a decision lord sugar if i may yes i've been project manager twice on the same task
54:06and you won once by a deep arguably a one a win yeah yeah if i stay in this process
54:13i would like
54:14to be the project manager on task 10 to prove to you what i can do if i lose we
54:18shake hands i walk out
54:20all right that's very interesting anybody else want to make that offer uh i don't feel the need to you
54:28can i can if i want to i felt that i over the last eight tasks i don't need another
54:32task to prove myself
54:33i have given myself one you lost you know you lost five even in the losing team five times correct
54:39and every time within those tasks the project manager has usually always had a very specific
54:43role that they've wanted me to excel in and at numerous times within this process i have excelled
54:47i don't need a tenth task to beg you to to take me you don't i don't i don't think
54:53i do what about you
54:54dan i feel like over the past nine tasks i've really kind of proven myself in many different ways
55:00um i i do believe that ultimately you've got to decide who you want to go into business with
55:04i know that i've only ever worked for myself i'm an entrepreneur through and through that's all i
55:08know and the industry that i'm in i know it so well so it's whether you think there's great potential
55:13with my business that i've got and if it's something you want to join me on the journey with
55:15hmm i have observed you over the past nine weeks um
