00:00You know, I've discovered behind every good drag queen
00:03is a good drag family.
00:05You got to come from good stock.
00:06You got to come from a place where somebody told you,
00:09no, you're not wearing that.
00:12No, you look a mess, girl.
00:15That's drag.
00:19Hey, everybody.
00:20It's Latrice Royale, and welcome to Scroll Patrol.
00:23We're going to be going down memory lane,
00:25walking through my old photos, and seeing some things
00:29that might be a little sus.
00:34I've already talked about my mother, Tiffany,
00:36but I have one drag daughter.
00:38Her name is Deborah Royale, and she lives in Seattle,
00:41and she is a cis woman, but she is nonetheless a queen daughter.
00:47So my drag daughter, Aisha, is her real name.
00:50I was booked in Seattle for a Miss Newbian pageant,
00:53and I met her at the Padge.
00:55And after the Padge, we hung out and had some herbal refreshments together.
01:02And when I tell you, it was just like this kismet, like,
01:05I know you, you know me, we know each other kind of situation.
01:08And we were preparing for Mr. Act.
01:12It was a Peaches Christ production, and we needed someone to play opposite of me.
01:16She had never done anything like that, and I was like, I think you're up for the task.
01:20So I painted her up, put her up in drag, and she was my nemesis in Mr. Act.
01:25And that was the night she became my daughter.
01:28She wasn't the extrovert, performer, onstage kind of gal when I met her.
01:34In fact, she didn't wear makeup or none of that.
01:36But baby, over the years, we have created a monster, honey.
01:41So we just got back from South Africa.
01:44We took a family trip, actually, with my brother, sister-in-law, of course, me, my husband, and Aisha.
01:52And we just had a magical time together.
01:56And I've never even envisioned the day where my bloodline and extended family would be so close.
02:07We did a shoot out on the beach, and I never have felt so free.
02:14Yeah.
02:14Because literally, I had no body, no tights, no padding, nothing.
02:19It was just me, natural.
02:21I had underwear on underneath my dress.
02:23That was it.
02:23And I was, like, in the wind.
02:26Gone with the wind fabulous, honey.
02:30But yeah, that's my daughter.
02:33If you're liking this video, hit the like and subscribe button, baby.
02:36You get more content and more of me.
02:38I'm just saying.
02:41Now, I will spoil my nieces, but I really only have one that is spoiled the most, and that's Kennedy
02:49Davenport.
02:50That's my baby.
02:50That's my niece.
02:51And she knows she gets away with murder.
02:53And she can ask me for anything, and Auntie gonna be there for her.
02:57Kennedy has a lot of mothers.
02:59It takes a village to raise that one.
03:03You know, she has Deja Richards.
03:05She has Kalexis Davenport, who obviously is namesake.
03:09And then Champagne Bordeaux, who is also my sister.
03:12But Kennedy was doing boy pageants at the time, and snatching up trophies as well.
03:18But she would go as Kendrick Bordeaux.
03:22Did y'all know that?
03:24There it is!
03:28See, one thing you can fact check me.
03:30I don't lie.
03:31So she's the very first Miss and Mr. Azuka.
03:35She won the boy and the girl category.
03:38When I was incarcerated, my community was having benefits for me to raise money for what I got out of
03:44prison.
03:44I would have a little startup cash.
03:46Kennedy was performing on my benefits before we even met.
03:52Just so you know, it's always a good time with me and my niece.
03:58We've toured the world together.
03:59You know, we've worked the world.
04:01I need a cocktail.
04:02I need a cocktail.
04:03We've been on the Vegas Strip together.
04:06She's been in my one-woman shows, Here's to Life, Life Goes On, Why I Gotta Be White Christmas.
04:11I've always tried to include my niece whenever I can.
04:19These some cute bottom lashes too, but you can't get out of them.
04:22They big though.
04:23Your face is big.
04:25Oh, okay.
04:26Like, when we're at local, our regular gigs, we always carry on in the dressing room because part of what
04:33we do is we're competitive.
04:35And it's like, oh girl, oh, you got, oh, you bringing out the big jewelry? Oh, we got big jewelry.
04:40Oh, we doing big hair today? We got big hair.
04:43And so it's always in fun, but we're always pushing each other to be better.
04:48And so when we get together, you already know what to bring in the closet, girl.
04:51You know what's going on.
04:53And Drag Race Live just put us on drag steroids, honey, because we knew nothing was too big for that
05:00stage.
05:01So the bigger, the better.
05:03Well, that's if you're doing drag like us.
05:05Not everybody.
05:07I ain't gonna mention no names.
05:09She does Britney Spears in the show, but.
05:18Kenny and I, you should very much know each other and very well because one thing about it, two things
05:22for sure.
05:22When any one, two or three of us get in the kitchen, it's a wrap.
05:27Baby, let me tell you something.
05:29What you're not going to do is have bad food because we all throw down in the kitchen.
05:35The thing that they have in common is that they're both such caregivers and such nurturers and they want to.
05:43That's their love language is feeding you and making sure that you were eating.
05:46Ain't nobody going hungry on their watch.
05:48But baby, it's dangerous, honey.
05:50You got high blood pressure.
05:51Forget about it.
05:52You going into a coma.
05:57I love you, niece.
05:59I love you, daughter.
06:01See y'all soon.
06:02We gonna cook, chill.
