The New York Yankees beat the Miami Marlins 8-2 on Friday, getting a big winner at their season opener. Slugger Aaron Judge hit his third home run of the season, but it was a circus catch courtesy of Cody Bellinger that had fans going wild. With one out in the top of the ninth inning, Miami’s Xavier Edwards hit a line drive to left field, sending Bellinger toward the wall. As he approached the warning track, Bellinger extended his glove arm and leaped to try to catch the ball. It hit the bottom of his glove near his wrist and began to fall to the ground. In a single motion, he lowered his arm and caught the ball without looking—an impressive combination of instinct and athleticism executed in a split second.
