This episode asks who Yahowah really is, what His name actually means, and why religion has replaced or concealed it~what are they hiding and why does it matter now? It explores when and where Yahowah introduced Himself to Moshe at Choreb, how the encounter with the mal’ak and radiant fire reveals His true nature, and why His name is rooted in hayah~I am, I was, and I will be. If His name defines identity, relationship, and covenant access, then how does misunderstanding it change everything, why have Miqra’ invitations been ignored, and what must you do differently before it’s too late?

00:00:00Quite the talent he is. Proper chatterbox yadda. If you're keen, it'll be brilliant.
00:00:08Today we're going to keep it simple. I'll bark out a basic command and you watch.
00:00:16Keen to know? He'll set your tail wagging. Does mine, hence why I'm backing him.
00:00:23Right then, Wookie here. Do take a seat, won't you?
00:00:27Give us your full attention while we listen to my pal, Yadda.
00:00:38Welcome to the Ocean Studio here as part of the Yawa blog. I'm your host, Craig Nguyen.
00:00:45We're beginning our first episode of The Basics on Yawa's name and nature.
00:00:52And so we will commence where Yawa began, which was in his Torah, when he was introducing himself to Moshe.
00:01:02The story reads, Moshe was shepherding the flock of his father-in-law, Yethro.
00:01:13Yethro means the remnant. It is from Yathar to remain.
00:01:20He was the Midian priest, the one who ministers to the contentious.
00:01:27He led, guided, his sheep to the end of the desert wilderness, the Midbar, the barren wasteland, where the word
00:01:38is questioned.
00:01:40It is from Mai to ponder the implications of Dabar.
00:01:46And he came to Choreb.
00:01:50Choreb would mean knife's edge, a sharp sword, something that cuts and separates.
00:02:01It was the mountain of the Almighty.
00:02:06This is Shemoth.
00:02:07Appropriately named names should never have been called Exodus 3.1.
00:02:14Yes, we will find the introduction to Yawa's name and a book entitled Shemoth Names.
00:02:22Have you ever wondered when you hear the term anti-Semite what you're actually listening to?
00:02:30It doesn't mean that somebody is against Shem, although they likely are,
00:02:36since there is every reason to conclude that Shem, Noah's son, was actually Dood,
00:02:44with that being the second of many iterations, some six, of Dood's soul being deployed, the first being Adam.
00:02:53But no, Shem is a very important word in Hebrew.
00:02:58Now, you've probably heard Jews, particularly if you are a Jew, say Hashem when they're afraid to say or don't
00:03:08want to say Yawa's name.
00:03:10And so it's really interesting that in a book named Names, Shemoth, we find Yawa's name.
00:03:18And now you know that when somebody is an anti-Semite, that they're opposed to Yawa's name.
00:03:26Now, that would include every Christian because they erased Yawa's name and replaced it with a myth.
00:03:34That would include every Muslim.
00:03:36They erased Yawa's name and replaced it with an ungod.
00:03:51And so it is instructive for you to know that this book in the Torah is entitled Shemoth Names.
00:04:02So here we are.
00:04:03I'll read through that first statement again so that you have your bearings as we move on.
00:04:07Moshe, a name that means one who draws out.
00:04:11Shepherding, Ra'ah, leading, protecting, guiding, and nourishing the flock.
00:04:16This is the career choice that appeals most to Yawa.
00:04:21Of his father-in-law, Yithro, the Midian priest.
00:04:25And he led his sheep to the end of the desert wilderness where the word is questioned.
00:04:33And he came to Choreb, Knife Setch, the mountain of the Almighty.
00:04:41And the spiritual messenger, a malak of Yawa.
00:04:48Not Yawa himself.
00:04:50Does say Yawa.
00:04:52But you know why it can't be Yawa himself?
00:04:55This is going to upset a lot of people.
00:04:592.5 billion of them to begin.
00:05:02Well, that's because Yawa is dimensions beyond the three-dimensional realm that we exist in here on Earth.
00:05:12I think he is seven-dimensional.
00:05:15I think the universe that we are part of is actually six-dimensional with what we are labeling as dark
00:05:23energy and dark matter,
00:05:25because we don't understand them, being the fifth and sixth dimensions, and time being the fourth.
00:05:32A being that exists in dimensions beyond those that we can experience can very easily create within lesser dimensions,
00:05:46as Yawa created the universe.
00:05:47It's huge, two trillion galaxies, each with hundreds of billions of stars.
00:05:53But yet it was nothing for a being whose dimensionality is one beyond that which he created.
00:06:02It's like an artist creating a two-dimensional painting.
00:06:12But you need to understand the physics of this do not allow a being of greater dimensions to enter lesser
00:06:20dimensions.
00:06:21You can paint all you want.
00:06:23You can make a beautiful scene, but you can't crawl into it.
00:06:26It's a two-dimensional construct, and you're a three-dimensional being.
00:06:29And so Yawa has to project an aspect of himself or to speak through someone else to communicate in our
00:06:44realm.
00:06:45I'm sure he can simply project his voice if he wishes to, but in this case, he used a spiritual
00:06:51messenger, a malak.
00:06:52He is very capable of using things like light and energy, which he did, in this case, fire.
00:07:05He is capable of creating reverberations in the air and therefore projecting his voice.
00:07:14He himself just can't enter our dimension.
00:07:16Yawa is larger by an infinite magnitude than the entire universe he created.
00:07:26So God cannot be a man, not under any circumstances.
00:07:30This notion in Christianity that Jesus was God is unbelievably stupid.
00:07:36It makes your God really, really puny and false.
00:07:42So it's important to know that God's going to choose a way to project his message, his presence.
00:07:49A malak spiritual messenger is one of them.
00:07:53But by the way, the malak doesn't necessarily have to be a spiritual being.
00:08:00Malak typically are, but not all of them.
00:08:04Yahweh is very capable of placing one of his ruach in a person and have a person speak for him.
00:08:13He's also capable of creating a physical presence and inserting his nefesh soul, his persona, as one would do with
00:08:26an avatar.
00:08:27God has many ways of projecting his nature.
00:08:31In this particular case, Yahweh projected it through a spiritual messenger who could have taken on many forms.
00:08:41A spiritual messenger can be light energy and also can be an actual person that has the spirit of Yahweh
00:08:51within them.
00:08:53So, and the spiritual messenger, the malak, this heavenly envoy and representative and ambassador of Yahweh.
00:09:02We will examine that name in a moment, but just to give you a head start, we will learn that
00:09:08Yahweh's name is based upon the Hebrew verb, one of the most common of all Hebrew verbs.
00:09:14It's haya.
00:09:17Haya.
00:09:17Haya in first person would mean, I am, I was, and I will be.
00:09:25Haya explains how to pronounce three of the four letters in Yahweh's name.
00:09:31All you need to do to know how to pronounce the fourth letter in Yahweh's name, the W, the wah,
00:09:38is to look at the book.
00:09:42It's a book that we are examining this testimony with them.
00:09:47It's a Torah.
00:09:49And the O sound in Torah comes from the Hebrew wah.
00:09:53When you see Torah written T-O-R-A-H, they're lying to you.
00:09:58Because Torah is T-W-R-H, with the two vowel sounds coming from the two vowels in Yahweh, and
00:10:08that name, Torah.
00:10:10The wah, or the O, and the hey, or the ah, a sound.
00:10:18If you're questioning this, then you should think of the most commonly repeated word in Hebrew, shalom.
00:10:26You may think that shalom is S-H-A-L-O-M, but it's not.
00:10:31The O sound in shalom comes from the Hebrew wah.
00:10:37Even the title God is from Eloah.
00:10:42And there again, we have the LF that creates the A-L sound, followed by a Lamed.
00:10:51And then the Hebrew wah for the O sound.
00:10:55And once again, the hey for the concluding ah sound.
00:11:00So it's really very straightforward in terms of pronouncing Yahweh's name.
00:11:04But we'll get into more of that as we proceed.
00:11:08So the messenger of Yahweh appeared.
00:11:10Rah became visible to him.
00:11:13By means of a flaming, this would be labah.
00:11:17There's lots of words for fire and flame in Hebrew.
00:11:20This is one of the less common.
00:11:23It would, as labah, it would speak of a gleaming blade or a sword of fire.
00:11:31Ish is the masculine word for fire.
00:11:34Ishah would be the feminine word for radiant heat and light.
00:11:38And the labah root of labah would mean that this fire was very white in its nature.
00:11:48So by means of a white, flaming spear burning of fire, of radiant heat and light,
00:11:57from the midst of, and you're going to expect me to say, a burning bush.
00:12:03But I'm not, because Sinai is a rocky crag.
00:12:08It's a high and shimmering rocky cliff.
00:12:13Yahweh's fire came from a rocky crag, not a burning bush.
00:12:19And the more one studies the Hebrew text and the message that God has given to us,
00:12:28the more you recognize that that is true.
00:12:30It was a burning sword of fire from a rocky crag.
00:12:37Now, the reason that Yahweh would have used fire as light to convey his presence
00:12:43is that light is the one thing that is known to us that is most like him.
00:12:51A spiritual being is akin to radiant energy and light.
00:12:56And so God appealed or appeared to him, even as this malach,
00:13:04in the form that is most identifiable with him.
00:13:09And it says, he looked, this would be Moshe, and he beheld, he paid close attention,
00:13:17that the rocky summit, the Ha-Sinai, the high, sharp crag, was ablaze.
00:13:25Ba'ar, it was kindled, it was illuminated with the fire, Ba'ha-esh, with the blazing light.
00:13:33But the crag, Wa-Ha-Sinai, this high cliff, this shimmering rocky place,
00:13:40was not consumed, was not eaten away or destroyed.
00:13:46Shemoth, names, 3-2.
00:13:51Shana, thorny shrub or prickly bush, and Shina, high rocky place,
00:13:59an elevated and shining crag or cliff,
00:14:03are actually indistinguishable in the Hebrew text.
00:14:08However, like many who have searched maps of this land and the land of Midian
00:14:15and have examined pictures taken of the region,
00:14:19I have seen the burnt rocky heights of Mount Chorup.
00:14:24In fact, if you go to the timeline on yadaya.com,
00:14:29very early on in that timeline, you'll see a photograph of the summit of Mount Chorup.
00:14:36It's burnt.
00:14:39No bushes, however.
00:14:41And since this is the mountain of God,
00:14:45and Yahweh is the rock of our salvation,
00:14:49and the man he has chosen to speak for him today is a crag.
00:14:55I would opt for shimmering high rocky crag over thorny bush on this day and any day.
00:15:05We're given a choice in the Hebrew.
00:15:07You pick which one you think is most likely true.
00:15:11But I'd be careful of the appeal of popularity,
00:15:16because if you choose that,
00:15:19which is how the AIs, for example, are programmed,
00:15:22then you're never going to be any more aware of the truth
00:15:27than have been the billions of those who have been misled by religion.
00:15:36Yahweh's name is not used by the religious.
00:15:38If you want to stay in that ilk, you can,
00:15:42but you will never know God, and he will never know you.
00:15:47So a spectacle that was this magnificent is going to come from a crag.
00:15:55It's high, it's large, it's pronounced, as opposed to a shrub.
00:16:03You think that Yahweh's trying to get Moshe's attention,
00:16:06and he's going to say, we're going to come back to this mountain.
00:16:09That is the summit of the mountain.
00:16:11It's a place.
00:16:13Moshe said, I want to change direction.
00:16:16I want to go, and I want to witness,
00:16:18to see this phenomenal and massive sight,
00:16:23Eth, Ha, Mereth, this enormous spectacle.
00:16:26It is from Ma, to ponder the implications of Ra'ah,
00:16:31that which can be seen, inspected, and considered,
00:16:35which is so enormous, extensive, and intense.
00:16:40Ha, Gadol, Ha, Zay,
00:16:43which is so powerful.
00:16:45It's elevated.
00:16:46It's majestic.
00:16:47This is from Gadol, meaning growing, magnifying, empowering,
00:16:55vital, and amplifying.
00:16:57Pretty much resolves this issue of,
00:17:01was it the rocky crag at the summit of Mount Choreb,
00:17:06or was it some scrawny bush?
00:17:11But how and why, Moshe asked,
00:17:15there is nothing to burn
00:17:17on the high, shimmering, rocky crag.
00:17:21Shemoth names, 3-3.
00:17:25Again, there is nothing to burn
00:17:28on the summit of that mountain.
00:17:29The rocky crag, glowing,
00:17:31and with leaping, and fire, and flame,
00:17:35that was magnificent.
00:17:37It was elevated.
00:17:38It was grand.
00:17:39And there was nothing to burn.
00:17:43God was presenting himself.
00:17:47And the way that is the easiest
00:17:49to have an appreciation of what he is like
00:17:52and what he's offering,
00:17:54God is not a material being.
00:17:57God is not a man.
00:18:00So when Yehoshua saw that, indeed,
00:18:06he had changed direction to draw near and to see,
00:18:12God called out to him,
00:18:14inviting him to meet with him
00:18:17from the height and the midst
00:18:20of this rocky crag,
00:18:23the Shinnah.
00:18:24He said, Moshe, Moshe, Moshe.
00:18:28And so he responded and said,
00:18:29look now and see.
00:18:32Here I am.
00:18:35How do you think Yehoshua came to know his name?
00:18:40Why do you think Yehoshua went to this desolate place
00:18:44where at the moment there was one man
00:18:48to speak to this individual?
00:18:51Why do you think Yehoshua decided that this is the guy
00:18:54that I want to carry out the most important mission
00:18:59in human history to this point in time?
00:19:03Do you think he had been watching him tend sheep
00:19:05and said, well, there's a really good sheep tender there.
00:19:09What do you think?
00:19:10He watched him run away from Mitzrayim,
00:19:13shamed by his own people.
00:19:16You think he saw him in the court of Pharaoh?
00:19:22I don't think any of those things are true.
00:19:26I don't think this is Moshe's first life.
00:19:30I have every reason to conclude
00:19:32that Moshe earned Yahu's favor as a soul
00:19:38because he was Joseph.
00:19:41And that in that life,
00:19:45Yehoshua learned that he could trust him.
00:19:48And Yehoshua doesn't like to go forward
00:19:50in relationships unless he has to reveal a prophecy
00:19:55regarding the final outcome of that relationship.
00:19:58And so, you know, he doesn't want to go too far
00:20:01in advance with his discussions now with Moshe.
00:20:04But nonetheless, that's who I think he was
00:20:09and why Yahweh knew him,
00:20:12why he reached out to him
00:20:13and why the second insertion of Moshe's soul
00:20:18made this man the single most important person on earth
00:20:23because he was the only person qualified
00:20:25to do what God wanted done.
00:20:28And it was an exceedingly important mission.
00:20:30And God's not going to trust somebody
00:20:32he hasn't worked with previously
00:20:34and he doesn't know.
00:20:35I mean, the mission that Yosef excelled in
00:20:39and Mitzrayim was exceedingly important
00:20:43and that it ultimately saved Yisrael,
00:20:47although salvation wasn't all that great.
00:20:50It was pretty grim
00:20:51because they were turned into slaves
00:20:53and faced apartheid and genocide.
00:20:56But nonetheless, they might have been extinct
00:20:59had it not been for Yosef.
00:21:02And so that's when Yahweh learned
00:21:05that he could trust this man
00:21:07to do what now is a far bigger mission.
00:21:10It's not just liberate the children of Yisrael
00:21:12from slavery, from the crucibles
00:21:15of human political and religious oppression,
00:21:20but to also deliver the Torah,
00:21:23to explain it, to live it,
00:21:25and to introduce the world to Yahweh.
00:21:29So Moshe responded,
00:21:30yep, here I am.
00:21:32Look, right here.
00:21:34You got me.
00:21:36I'm Moshe.
00:21:38So kara here is the operative term.
00:21:41It is the operative term
00:21:46in Micra,
00:21:48which is the day we're celebrating today.
00:21:51When I read to you,
00:21:54God called out to him,
00:21:56inviting him to meet with him.
00:21:57That was from kara.
00:22:00And kara means all of those things.
00:22:02It's to invite, to summon,
00:22:03to meet, to greet,
00:22:05to welcome, and to pronounce.
00:22:08And it is the basis of Micra.
00:22:10We're celebrating today
00:22:12the Micra of Pisach, of Passover.
00:22:14This is the day that Dode
00:22:18was crucified by Rome,
00:22:20seven years shy of 2,000 years ago,
00:22:24where his body served as the Passover lamb.
00:22:27And so kara is a very, very important term.
00:22:31In fact, the next book of the Torah
00:22:33is actually named kara.
00:22:35It's kara, which means to call out.
00:22:39And so it is the operative,
00:22:44actionable root of Micra.
00:22:46And in the plural, Micra,
00:22:48invitations to be called out
00:22:50and meet with God.
00:22:51It is the first word
00:22:54Yahweh spoke to Moshe.
00:22:57Kara.
00:22:59He called out.
00:23:03It's important
00:23:05because it would define Moshe's mission
00:23:07and their relationship.
00:23:09So Moshe was, as we know,
00:23:11show slow and speech,
00:23:13but he was not deaf.
00:23:15So there was no reason
00:23:16for Yahweh to repeat his name.
00:23:18I suspect it was to draw
00:23:19our attention
00:23:20to the mission
00:23:22that he was about to undertake,
00:23:24which was to Moshe.
00:23:26Draw the children of Yisrael
00:23:28out of Mitzrayim.
00:23:31Now, God can,
00:23:33as I have shared,
00:23:34manifest himself
00:23:35in many different forms
00:23:38of his choosing.
00:23:39But light,
00:23:40which is eternal in time,
00:23:43enlightening and empowering,
00:23:45happens to be his favorite.
00:23:47However, we mortals
00:23:49can only come so close
00:23:50to this amount of energy
00:23:52without the source of life
00:23:54becoming too intense for us
00:23:56in our present state.
00:23:59Such may have been the case here.
00:24:02I only say may
00:24:03because there are different ways
00:24:06to translate the Hebrew letters
00:24:08Aleph Lamed.
00:24:10They can convey God,
00:24:13power,
00:24:14to or toward,
00:24:16or all,
00:24:18not,
00:24:18nothing,
00:24:19or none.
00:24:20So what came next
00:24:22was either,
00:24:23and he said,
00:24:26do not come near this place.
00:24:29Then God said,
00:24:32approach and draw near this place.
00:24:36Eh,
00:24:37probably not.
00:24:38That would be an internal contradiction,
00:24:40wouldn't it?
00:24:40The first rendition there,
00:24:44he could not,
00:24:45I don't think he said,
00:24:47do not come near this place
00:24:50because he was inviting Moshe
00:24:51to meet with him.
00:24:52So I think the more correct rendering
00:24:55would be,
00:24:55then God said,
00:24:57approach and come near
00:25:00this place.
00:25:02The first rendition,
00:25:04while consistent with almost
00:25:05every English translation,
00:25:08does not work in this context
00:25:09because the last speaker
00:25:12speaker was Moshe,
00:25:13and it's clearly
00:25:14God speaking to him.
00:25:16Therefore,
00:25:18El reveals the change
00:25:20of voice
00:25:21from man
00:25:22to God.
00:25:24Moreover,
00:25:25in this last statement,
00:25:27Waqara,
00:25:27El Hu,
00:25:29Elohim,
00:25:30God called out to him,
00:25:31inviting him
00:25:32to meet with him.
00:25:34The Almighty
00:25:34was summoning Moshe
00:25:36to his presence
00:25:37and welcoming him.
00:25:39Karab not only means
00:25:40to approach
00:25:41and draw near,
00:25:42it is something
00:25:43Yahweh asks
00:25:44of us
00:25:45during the celebration
00:25:46of the Mechre.
00:25:47We're constantly asked
00:25:48to draw near
00:25:49the fiery light.
00:25:52So this would be consistent
00:25:54with the verb
00:25:55that was chosen
00:25:55in this case.
00:25:57Additionally,
00:25:59Halom speaks of
00:26:00being in close proximity.
00:26:03Further,
00:26:04not only would it
00:26:05have been inconsistent
00:26:06with God's purpose
00:26:07to send Moshe away
00:26:08since he intended
00:26:10to spend eternity
00:26:11with him,
00:26:12Moshe would spend
00:26:13the next 40 days
00:26:14and nights
00:26:15with Yahweh
00:26:16on Mount Choreb
00:26:17upon his return
00:26:19to this place.
00:26:20God was there
00:26:22to introduce himself
00:26:23to Moshe
00:26:25and they were about
00:26:27to become inseparable.
00:26:30And then there's
00:26:31the issue
00:26:32of Na'al,
00:26:33sandals.
00:26:34Why take them off
00:26:35if he was being sent away?
00:26:38How would the ground
00:26:40away from God
00:26:41be somehow special?
00:26:43And how was he to walk
00:26:44on such granular soil?
00:26:48And even if we were intent
00:26:49on leaving
00:26:50Aleph Lamed
00:26:51as Al
00:26:53as opposed to El,
00:26:55God would have
00:26:56been saying
00:26:58in spite
00:26:58of the evidence
00:27:00to the contrary,
00:27:01you will not be negated
00:27:03and thus reduced
00:27:05to nothing
00:27:05by the intensity
00:27:06of this powerful force
00:27:08that you're witnessing.
00:27:09Certainly not so
00:27:11by approaching me.
00:27:13So all things considered,
00:27:14I think this is
00:27:15the correct rendering.
00:27:18Then God Almighty
00:27:20said,
00:27:21Approach
00:27:22and draw near
00:27:24this place.
00:27:27take off
00:27:28your sandals
00:27:30from upon your feet
00:27:31because this
00:27:33place
00:27:33which to show
00:27:34the benefits
00:27:35of the relationship
00:27:36that you are standing,
00:27:38it is set apart
00:27:40and it is special
00:27:41ground.
00:27:43Shemoth
00:27:43names
00:27:44Exodus
00:27:453.5
00:27:46Yahweh wants us
00:27:48to approach him
00:27:49and to be comfortable
00:27:50around him.
00:27:50So God said,
00:27:51Hey,
00:27:52slip off your sandals
00:27:53because
00:27:54this place
00:27:55is home.
00:27:57Mount Jorub,
00:27:58the mount
00:27:58of God
00:27:59was chosen
00:28:01because
00:28:01it had not
00:28:03been contaminated
00:28:04by men.
00:28:05It was still special
00:28:06and set apart
00:28:07and could serve
00:28:08as Yahweh's
00:28:09mokom,
00:28:10office,
00:28:11the place
00:28:11where he would
00:28:12provide directions
00:28:13for life.
00:28:15And that instruction
00:28:16would include
00:28:17being kum,
00:28:19upright,
00:28:20in his presence,
00:28:21not bowed down.
00:28:22and
00:28:23while ready
00:28:24and willing
00:28:25to kum
00:28:26to take a stand
00:28:27against that
00:28:29which is
00:28:29common
00:28:30and corrupt,
00:28:31that would be
00:28:31against religion
00:28:32and politics.
00:28:34Everything
00:28:35important to God
00:28:35and essential
00:28:37for us
00:28:37is Kodesh.
00:28:39It is set apart.
00:28:40If something
00:28:41is ordinary
00:28:41or popular
00:28:43like religion
00:28:44and politics,
00:28:45like social media,
00:28:47it's not of God.
00:28:50He said,
00:28:52I am the God
00:28:53of your fathers,
00:28:54the God
00:28:55of Abraham,
00:28:57the God
00:28:58of Yishak
00:28:59and the God
00:29:00of Jacob.
00:29:04He is the God
00:29:05of the covenant
00:29:06with Israel.
00:29:12Yahweh could have
00:29:13simply stated
00:29:16any Elohim
00:29:18I am God
00:29:20and left it
00:29:21at that.
00:29:22But he didn't.
00:29:23It is therefore
00:29:24essential that we
00:29:25recognize the
00:29:26implications of
00:29:27him going on.
00:29:29The beneficiaries
00:29:30of the covenant
00:29:31with Abraham
00:29:31and the descendants
00:29:32of Jacob
00:29:33who became
00:29:34Yisrael
00:29:35matter most
00:29:36to Yahweh.
00:29:36They are his people.
00:29:38That is why he said
00:29:39that this place
00:29:40in which he was
00:29:41meeting with Moshe,
00:29:42a Yisraelite
00:29:43from the tribe
00:29:44of Loew,
00:29:44was special.
00:29:45That's why
00:29:46if you are
00:29:48a Christian,
00:29:49you need to know
00:29:49that,
00:29:50sorry,
00:29:52Yahweh is the
00:29:53God of Abraham,
00:29:54of Yishak
00:29:55and of Jacob
00:29:56who became
00:29:57Yisrael.
00:30:01He happens
00:30:01to be the only
00:30:02God,
00:30:03but God chose
00:30:04to identify
00:30:04with this group
00:30:05of people,
00:30:06not because
00:30:06they were special
00:30:08in their own right.
00:30:08They weren't.
00:30:09They were obnoxious
00:30:10most of the time.
00:30:11They were so obnoxious
00:30:13that Moshe left
00:30:14them,
00:30:15but the fact
00:30:17of the matter
00:30:17is no amount
00:30:19of religious
00:30:21malfeasance
00:30:22is going to
00:30:22change the fact
00:30:23or hocus-pocus
00:30:25for the replacement
00:30:26phoolology
00:30:26that Yahweh
00:30:28is the God
00:30:29of Abraham,
00:30:31Yishak
00:30:31and Jacob
00:30:32and those
00:30:33happen to be
00:30:34the three men
00:30:35through whom
00:30:36he introduced
00:30:37and conveyed
00:30:38his covenant,
00:30:40that family
00:30:40relationship
00:30:41that is so
00:30:42essential to God.
00:30:44Well,
00:30:45clearly all of this
00:30:46must have been
00:30:46a bit overwhelming.
00:30:47So Moshe,
00:30:48one who draws out,
00:30:50concealed his face
00:30:51because he was
00:30:52awestruck
00:30:53looking upon
00:30:54the Almighty.
00:30:55Shemoth
00:30:56names Exodus
00:30:573.6.
00:31:00Moshe
00:31:00was
00:31:01not
00:31:02the bravest
00:31:04man
00:31:04of all.
00:31:06I'm not going
00:31:06to say that he
00:31:07lacked character
00:31:08because I think
00:31:08he had exemplary
00:31:09character,
00:31:09but when
00:31:11confronted
00:31:11and challenged
00:31:14Moshe
00:31:15very often
00:31:16did face
00:31:16plants.
00:31:17He very
00:31:17often,
00:31:18oh,
00:31:19I don't want
00:31:19to see that.
00:31:21We're very
00:31:22different in
00:31:22personality,
00:31:23but being
00:31:24different is
00:31:24good.
00:31:25God has a
00:31:26personality for
00:31:27everything that he
00:31:28needs accomplished.
00:31:29I'm much bolder.
00:31:31If God's going
00:31:31to light up
00:31:33the top of a
00:31:33mountain,
00:31:34I'm going to
00:31:35run to the
00:31:36top of the
00:31:36mountain as
00:31:37fast as my
00:31:38feet will
00:31:38carry me
00:31:39and God's
00:31:40going to,
00:31:41if he doesn't
00:31:41want me to
00:31:42get close,
00:31:43he's going to,
00:31:43hey,
00:31:44young man,
00:31:45that's close
00:31:46enough.
00:31:47But I'm,
00:31:49I am never
00:31:50going like
00:31:52this.
00:31:52I'm going to
00:31:52go,
00:31:53yeah,
00:31:54that's my
00:31:55God.
00:31:55I can't
00:31:56wait to
00:31:58enter his
00:31:59presence.
00:31:59So we're
00:32:00just very
00:32:00different that
00:32:00way.
00:32:02Moshe came
00:32:03out of a
00:32:04difficult situation.
00:32:04He was
00:32:05cautious.
00:32:05He stayed
00:32:06cautious his
00:32:06entire rest
00:32:08of his
00:32:08life.
00:32:09He was 80
00:32:10years old at
00:32:11this point.
00:32:12He had seen
00:32:12a lot.
00:32:13He had done
00:32:13a lot.
00:32:14He was
00:32:14trying to
00:32:14avoid people
00:32:16and particularly
00:32:17all encounters
00:32:18with all things
00:32:19associated with
00:32:21Mitzrayim at
00:32:22this time as
00:32:23well.
00:32:24But anyway,
00:32:24Moshe did
00:32:25that.
00:32:25He was
00:32:26awestruck.
00:32:26He hid his
00:32:28face from
00:32:28the Almighty.
00:32:30Not the choice
00:32:31I would have
00:32:31made.
00:32:31Maybe it's
00:32:33consistent with
00:32:34other people
00:32:34that are
00:32:35listening that
00:32:35they thought
00:32:36that they
00:32:36might do
00:32:37the same.
00:32:38But no,
00:32:39I'd rather
00:32:39be, if I'm
00:32:40going to be
00:32:40scorched, I
00:32:41want to be
00:32:41scorched in
00:32:42Yahweh's
00:32:43presence.
00:32:45So in
00:32:46his office on
00:32:47Mount Chorub,
00:32:48Yahweh got
00:32:48down to
00:32:49business
00:32:49immediately.
00:32:50He laid
00:32:51it all on
00:32:51the line,
00:32:53telling what,
00:32:54well, telling
00:32:55Moshe what,
00:32:56of course,
00:32:57Moshe would
00:32:57have known
00:32:57at this
00:32:58point.
00:33:00Then Yahweh
00:33:01said,
00:33:02I have
00:33:02witnessed,
00:33:03and I
00:33:04have
00:33:05surely
00:33:05seen,
00:33:06the
00:33:06oppression
00:33:07and the
00:33:07persecution
00:33:08of my
00:33:09people,
00:33:09who are
00:33:10in the
00:33:11crucibles
00:33:11of oppression.
00:33:14Mitzrayim,
00:33:15the cauldrons
00:33:15of religious
00:33:16and governmental,
00:33:18military and
00:33:18economic
00:33:19subjugation,
00:33:20the cruelty
00:33:21experienced in
00:33:22Egypt, where
00:33:23the people are
00:33:23confined and
00:33:24restricted by
00:33:25religious and
00:33:26political
00:33:27persecution.
00:33:28It is the
00:33:29plural of
00:33:30Matzor,
00:33:31to be
00:33:32delineated
00:33:33as a
00:33:34foe and
00:33:34besieged
00:33:35during a
00:33:36time of
00:33:36testing and
00:33:37tribulation.
00:33:38And Matzor
00:33:39is to
00:33:40ponder the
00:33:41implications of
00:33:42Shur,
00:33:42to be
00:33:43bound and
00:33:44confined by
00:33:44an adversary
00:33:45assaulted,
00:33:46shut up,
00:33:47and enclosed
00:33:47as if in a
00:33:48concentration
00:33:49camp by
00:33:50those showing
00:33:51great
00:33:51hostility.
00:33:53Matzor,
00:33:54to be
00:33:54aware of
00:33:55a state of
00:33:56troubling
00:33:56hardship and
00:33:57persecution,
00:33:58persecution and
00:33:59at its
00:34:00very core,
00:34:02Tsar.
00:34:02Tsar is
00:34:03the word
00:34:04that Yahweh
00:34:06also uses
00:34:07for time
00:34:08of Israel's
00:34:09troubles.
00:34:09We're now
00:34:10less than
00:34:1050 days
00:34:11from entering
00:34:12the Tsar
00:34:13of Jacob
00:34:15of Israel.
00:34:17And so
00:34:17Tsar
00:34:18speaks of
00:34:19confining
00:34:20and closing,
00:34:21limiting,
00:34:23harassing,
00:34:24terrorizing,
00:34:25abusing,
00:34:27subjugating,
00:34:28persecuting,
00:34:30all of
00:34:30these things.
00:34:31And Jews
00:34:32have known
00:34:33all of this
00:34:34for a very
00:34:34long time,
00:34:35and they
00:34:35were suffering
00:34:36that very
00:34:37thing in
00:34:37Mitzrayim.
00:34:38But by
00:34:39understanding
00:34:39the root,
00:34:40Tsar,
00:34:41and understanding
00:34:42that that is
00:34:43the basis
00:34:44of Mitzrayim,
00:34:45that you
00:34:47know that
00:34:47this time
00:34:48of trouble,
00:34:50this
00:34:52Tsar,
00:34:53Tsar,
00:34:54is going
00:34:55to be
00:34:55brutal.
00:34:56Jews
00:34:56are going
00:34:57to be
00:34:57persecuted,
00:34:58subjugated,
00:34:59confined,
00:35:01harassed.
00:35:03So the
00:35:05basis
00:35:05of the
00:35:06word
00:35:06has
00:35:07merit.
00:35:08And I
00:35:10have heard
00:35:10the cry,
00:35:11their cry
00:35:12of distress
00:35:13because of
00:35:14the presence
00:35:15of their
00:35:15oppressive
00:35:16taskmasters
00:35:17who are
00:35:18exploiting
00:35:18them.
00:35:19Nagas
00:35:19helps to
00:35:20define
00:35:22Mitzrayim,
00:35:23doesn't it?
00:35:23They're
00:35:24tyrannical
00:35:25rulers
00:35:25who are
00:35:26manipulating
00:35:26and abusing
00:35:27them.
00:35:28Indeed,
00:35:29I recognize
00:35:29and I
00:35:30personally
00:35:31know their
00:35:31pain and
00:35:32their
00:35:32suffering.
00:35:34Shemoth
00:35:34names,
00:35:35Exodus 3,
00:35:367.
00:35:38So this
00:35:39is actually
00:35:40why Yahweh
00:35:41chose
00:35:41Moshe.
00:35:42He was
00:35:43the only
00:35:43man on
00:35:43earth who
00:35:44had witnessed
00:35:45what Yahweh
00:35:46had seen
00:35:46and he
00:35:48agreed with
00:35:48God's
00:35:49assessment.
00:35:49there would
00:35:51be a
00:35:52lot that
00:35:53Yahweh
00:35:53would have
00:35:55to teach
00:35:55Moshe,
00:35:56obviously for
00:35:57him to
00:35:57prevail,
00:35:58but there
00:35:58was one
00:35:59subject in
00:36:00which their
00:36:01abhorrence
00:36:02was already
00:36:03shared.
00:36:04And that
00:36:05is the
00:36:06persecution
00:36:07and subjugation
00:36:09of the
00:36:11Hebrews by
00:36:13the politicized
00:36:15and religious
00:36:16caste system.
00:36:19of
00:36:19Mitzrayim
00:36:20of Egypt.
00:36:23Moshe had
00:36:24walked away
00:36:25from it,
00:36:25from the
00:36:26religion and
00:36:26politics,
00:36:27the power
00:36:29of Egypt.
00:36:30That's why
00:36:31God was
00:36:32speaking with
00:36:33him.
00:36:34Now he
00:36:34knew that
00:36:35he was
00:36:35that kind
00:36:35of man.
00:36:37Yahweh
00:36:38despises
00:36:38religion.
00:36:39He hates
00:36:39politics because
00:36:41they are
00:36:41used to
00:36:42only oppress
00:36:43and persecute
00:36:44others,
00:36:45afflicting
00:36:46them and
00:36:46causing them
00:36:47to suffer.
00:36:47Man's
00:36:49impoverishes
00:36:50while God
00:36:50seeks to
00:36:51enrich.
00:36:52With men
00:36:53there is
00:36:53misery,
00:36:54with God
00:36:54there is
00:36:55mercy.
00:36:56So
00:36:57Yahweh
00:36:58was rolling
00:36:58out some
00:36:59of the
00:36:59most telling
00:37:00words in
00:37:01the Hebrew
00:37:01vocabulary
00:37:02to convey
00:37:03his dismay
00:37:04with the
00:37:06consequence of
00:37:07human oppression
00:37:08and persecution.
00:37:09He did
00:37:10not want
00:37:11his people
00:37:11to be
00:37:12victimized.
00:37:14God was
00:37:15familiar with
00:37:15their anguish
00:37:16and he
00:37:18knew that
00:37:18his people
00:37:19were suffering
00:37:20because,
00:37:22well,
00:37:23he would
00:37:24have his
00:37:25son endure
00:37:26the agony
00:37:28that he
00:37:29had witnessed.
00:37:31Yes,
00:37:32his beloved
00:37:33son,
00:37:33Dode,
00:37:34would be
00:37:34tortured by
00:37:35the most
00:37:36ruthless
00:37:36empire on
00:37:37earth during
00:37:38this very
00:37:39day.
00:37:39In fact,
00:37:40at this
00:37:40very time
00:37:41time of
00:37:42this day,
00:37:42it's a
00:37:42very somber
00:37:43day for
00:37:44me,
00:37:45a marvelous
00:37:45celebration
00:37:46of the
00:37:46Pesach
00:37:47meal,
00:37:48but a
00:37:49very somber
00:37:50expression of
00:37:51knowing what
00:37:52my beloved
00:37:54king did
00:37:55for us
00:37:56by enduring
00:37:57crucifixion
00:37:58of his
00:38:00body on
00:38:01this day.
00:38:03And so
00:38:04he would
00:38:06suffer
00:38:08because his
00:38:09son suffered
00:38:10and therefore
00:38:11he understood
00:38:12suffering.
00:38:14So God
00:38:15says,
00:38:15so I have
00:38:16descended
00:38:18to deliver
00:38:19them from
00:38:20the influence
00:38:21of Mitzrayim,
00:38:22from the
00:38:23crucibles of
00:38:25political and
00:38:25religious oppression
00:38:26and to lift
00:38:28them out of
00:38:29that land
00:38:30and to take
00:38:31them to a
00:38:32spacious land
00:38:33flowing with
00:38:35milk and
00:38:35honey to
00:38:36the place
00:38:37of the
00:38:37canani,
00:38:39those who
00:38:40will be
00:38:40subdued,
00:38:41the chitti,
00:38:42the shattered
00:38:44and broken,
00:38:45the ha-paritzi,
00:38:48the overtly
00:38:50open,
00:38:51ha-emari,
00:38:53the boastful,
00:38:54the shiwi,
00:38:56the declarative,
00:38:59and the
00:39:00ha-jabusi,
00:39:02the rejected.
00:39:05Shemoth
00:39:05name's
00:39:06Exodus 3.8.
00:39:07Now,
00:39:08this would
00:39:09be a
00:39:10rescue mission,
00:39:11obviously.
00:39:12Yahweh was
00:39:12committed to
00:39:13lifting his
00:39:13people out
00:39:14of man's
00:39:15oppressive
00:39:15religious and
00:39:16political influence,
00:39:17and God
00:39:18was offering
00:39:19to take
00:39:20them to a
00:39:21very good
00:39:22place.
00:39:23What follows
00:39:24is repeated
00:39:26thrice.
00:39:27God's point
00:39:28is that
00:39:28human political
00:39:30and religious
00:39:31schemes
00:39:31burden their
00:39:33subjects.
00:39:34They are
00:39:35work-based,
00:39:36making them
00:39:36suppressive.
00:39:38Yahweh's
00:39:38solution,
00:39:39which is
00:39:40liberating and
00:39:40uplifting,
00:39:41of course,
00:39:42is the
00:39:42antithesis
00:39:43of man's
00:39:45approach.
00:39:46And so we
00:39:47read,
00:39:47and so now
00:39:48at this
00:39:49moment,
00:39:50it is my
00:39:52desire that
00:39:53you choose
00:39:54to go,
00:39:55electing to
00:39:56walk as
00:39:57an expression
00:39:58of my
00:39:58will.
00:40:00It was
00:40:01written in
00:40:03the
00:40:03volitional
00:40:04mood,
00:40:05imperative,
00:40:06you have
00:40:07a choice,
00:40:09paragogic,
00:40:11emphatic,
00:40:13cohortative,
00:40:14so the
00:40:15person speaking
00:40:16is expressing
00:40:16their will,
00:40:18their desire,
00:40:19and yet
00:40:20giving the
00:40:21person being
00:40:22spoken to
00:40:23the option
00:40:24under the
00:40:25impetus of
00:40:26free will,
00:40:27imperative,
00:40:29cohortative.
00:40:31So,
00:40:31so now at
00:40:33this time,
00:40:33it's my
00:40:34desire that
00:40:34you choose
00:40:35electing to
00:40:36walk as
00:40:37an expression
00:40:38of my
00:40:38will,
00:40:40of your
00:40:40own accord.
00:40:42And so
00:40:43then I would
00:40:44send you
00:40:44out to
00:40:45Pharaoh to
00:40:48bring out
00:40:48my people,
00:40:50the children
00:40:51of Israel,
00:40:52from the
00:40:53crucibles
00:40:53of oppression.
00:40:57310.
00:40:59In Hebrew,
00:41:00moods can
00:41:01often speak
00:41:02volumes.
00:41:03This is one
00:41:04of the rare
00:41:04occasions when
00:41:05a verb is
00:41:06subject to
00:41:08volition in
00:41:09the first and
00:41:09second person.
00:41:11Yahweh doesn't
00:41:11use them that
00:41:12way very often,
00:41:13but his son,
00:41:15Dod, oh,
00:41:16throughout the
00:41:16Psalms we
00:41:17witness this.
00:41:20The
00:41:20cohortative and
00:41:21the imperative
00:41:22reveal that
00:41:23while this
00:41:25mission was
00:41:25subject to
00:41:26free will,
00:41:26meaning Moshe
00:41:28was being
00:41:29given a
00:41:29choice, not
00:41:30an order,
00:41:31it also
00:41:32conveyed the
00:41:33desire of
00:41:34God, the
00:41:34very will of
00:41:35God.
00:41:36Everyone who
00:41:37has served the
00:41:38Almighty will
00:41:39empathize with
00:41:40Moshe.
00:41:41We have
00:41:42often asked
00:41:43the same
00:41:44question,
00:41:45and I can
00:41:47tell you I
00:41:47have repeatedly
00:41:50that when
00:41:52you share
00:41:52what God
00:41:53has revealed
00:41:54or you
00:41:55communicate for
00:41:56him, you're
00:41:58attacked.
00:41:59Moshe knew
00:42:00that going
00:42:01on this
00:42:01mission and
00:42:02speaking for
00:42:02God was
00:42:03going to be
00:42:04exceedingly
00:42:05unpopular
00:42:05with everybody,
00:42:06his own
00:42:07people and
00:42:07the Egyptians
00:42:08and the
00:42:09Pharaoh, of
00:42:09course.
00:42:11No one who
00:42:12speaks for
00:42:13God is ever
00:42:13popular.
00:42:14If you go to
00:42:15a mega church
00:42:16or you got
00:42:16world-famous
00:42:18chief rabbi
00:42:20or a
00:42:21well-known
00:42:22emmum that
00:42:23claims to
00:42:24speak for
00:42:25God, they're
00:42:26lying.
00:42:27If you're
00:42:28popular, you
00:42:29aren't speaking
00:42:30for God.
00:42:30If you're
00:42:31elected to a
00:42:32public office
00:42:32and you claim
00:42:33that you're a
00:42:34voice of God,
00:42:35you're a liar.
00:42:37No one has
00:42:38ever spoken
00:42:39for God
00:42:40and remained
00:42:41popular.
00:42:45But Moshe
00:42:46said to
00:42:47the Almighty,
00:42:48who am I
00:42:49that I
00:42:50should go
00:42:50to Pharaoh
00:42:51and actually
00:42:52bring out
00:42:53the children
00:42:53of Israel
00:42:54from the
00:42:55crucibles
00:42:55of oppression?
00:42:57That's,
00:42:58again, the
00:42:58first response
00:42:59of everyone.
00:43:00Now, God
00:43:01could say,
00:43:02you know,
00:43:03you're
00:43:04Joseph.
00:43:05And Moshe
00:43:06was so far
00:43:07removed from
00:43:09that, he
00:43:10might not have
00:43:11even known
00:43:11the story of
00:43:12Joseph.
00:43:12We know
00:43:13it because
00:43:13it's conveyed
00:43:15in the Torah,
00:43:16but it's
00:43:17conveyed in
00:43:17the Torah
00:43:18that Yahweh
00:43:18revealed through
00:43:20Moshe.
00:43:22And I'm
00:43:23sure that
00:43:23when Moshe
00:43:24heard the
00:43:24story of
00:43:25Joseph,
00:43:26he probably
00:43:26had a good
00:43:27laugh with
00:43:28Yahweh and
00:43:28said,
00:43:28that was me,
00:43:29wasn't it?
00:43:29Yep.
00:43:30Yes, it was.
00:43:32But the
00:43:33fact of the
00:43:33matter is
00:43:34that at
00:43:36this point,
00:43:37Moshe was
00:43:38questioning,
00:43:39okay, the
00:43:40top of the
00:43:40mountain is
00:43:41burning,
00:43:42this spirit
00:43:43that is
00:43:44speaking from
00:43:44the fire,
00:43:46knows my
00:43:47name,
00:43:47is called
00:43:47out to
00:43:48me personally,
00:43:51wants me to
00:43:52engage with
00:43:53him, and
00:43:55rather than
00:43:55just say no,
00:43:57he says,
00:43:58who am I
00:43:59that I
00:44:00should go to
00:44:00Pharaoh?
00:44:01Well,
00:44:01actually,
00:44:01you're the
00:44:02only person
00:44:02qualified on
00:44:03earth,
00:44:03pal,
00:44:03that's the
00:44:04answer to
00:44:04the question,
00:44:05because you
00:44:07know the
00:44:08politics and
00:44:09the religion
00:44:10of Mitzrayim,
00:44:13you know the
00:44:13attitude and
00:44:14approach of
00:44:15the Pharaohs,
00:44:16and you
00:44:16were disgusted
00:44:18by it,
00:44:18and lashed
00:44:20out against
00:44:21it, and
00:44:22then walked
00:44:22away from
00:44:22it.
00:44:23So I
00:44:24know that
00:44:24you and
00:44:25I share
00:44:25a disdain
00:44:26for this,
00:44:26and I also
00:44:27know that
00:44:28you tried to
00:44:29help my
00:44:29people.
00:44:29They're
00:44:30obnoxious,
00:44:30okay, we've
00:44:31got that in
00:44:31common, we
00:44:32both know
00:44:32they're
00:44:32obnoxious,
00:44:33they're
00:44:34ungrateful,
00:44:35but the
00:44:35fact is you
00:44:36tried to
00:44:36help them,
00:44:37I've tried
00:44:37to help
00:44:38them,
00:44:38the very
00:44:39fact that
00:44:40you risk
00:44:41your life
00:44:41to help
00:44:42them, you
00:44:43can identify
00:44:43with that,
00:44:44and therefore
00:44:45you're my
00:44:46guy, that's
00:44:47why you're
00:44:47my guy, I
00:44:49know you, we
00:44:50worked together
00:44:51in the past,
00:44:52you're my
00:44:53guy.
00:44:57Now having
00:44:57lived in
00:44:58and subsequently
00:45:00left Mitzrayim,
00:45:02Moshe was
00:45:03indeed the
00:45:03only qualified
00:45:04and available
00:45:05person on
00:45:06earth to
00:45:07perform this
00:45:07mission.
00:45:08Yes, he
00:45:09was really
00:45:10old at
00:45:1080 years
00:45:11old, and
00:45:12by his
00:45:13own admission
00:45:13he had a
00:45:14speech impediment.
00:45:16He was
00:45:17an alleged
00:45:18murderer with
00:45:19a death
00:45:19sentence hanging
00:45:20over his
00:45:21head as
00:45:21well, but
00:45:22none of that
00:45:23mattered, not
00:45:24to God, because
00:45:26God does not
00:45:26work alone, and
00:45:28his criteria for
00:45:29who he chooses
00:45:30to work with,
00:45:31well, it's quite
00:45:32different than
00:45:33man's.
00:45:34He didn't get
00:45:35the most
00:45:35handsome
00:45:36person, he
00:45:36didn't get
00:45:37the most
00:45:37articulate
00:45:38person, he
00:45:38didn't get
00:45:39the most
00:45:40powerful person,
00:45:41he didn't
00:45:41choose somebody
00:45:41with an
00:45:42army, he
00:45:42didn't choose
00:45:43somebody that
00:45:43was rich, he
00:45:44didn't choose
00:45:44somebody that
00:45:45was famous, he
00:45:46chose a man
00:45:47that was out
00:45:47tending sheep
00:45:49in the
00:45:50wilderness and
00:45:51the desolate
00:45:52area of
00:45:53Choreb, and
00:45:55said, you're
00:45:56my guy.
00:45:58He knew him,
00:45:59they'd worked
00:46:00together in the
00:46:00past.
00:46:02Now, by
00:46:03himself, or
00:46:04even with the
00:46:04entire Midian
00:46:05army, Moshe
00:46:06recognized that
00:46:07he was wholly
00:46:08inadequate.
00:46:09This
00:46:11accurate,
00:46:12therefore,
00:46:13self-assessment,
00:46:14along with his
00:46:14appreciation for
00:46:15the plight of
00:46:16his people, made
00:46:17him, again, an
00:46:18ideal implement.
00:46:19He had
00:46:20character, too,
00:46:21demonstrating that
00:46:23he was ready to
00:46:24risk his own
00:46:25life to protect
00:46:27the oppressed.
00:46:29Character matters
00:46:30when you're
00:46:30working with
00:46:31God.
00:46:32That was an
00:46:33extraordinary thing
00:46:34that Moshe did
00:46:35when he stood
00:46:35up against the
00:46:36taskmaster to
00:46:37save the life
00:46:37of a Hebrew.
00:46:40God was duly
00:46:41impressed.
00:46:43In Moshe's
00:46:44case, he
00:46:46wasn't just the
00:46:47best choice.
00:46:48There simply
00:46:49were no other
00:46:50options.
00:46:52God told us
00:46:53as much when
00:46:55he explained
00:46:56why Moshe
00:46:57left
00:46:58Mitzrayim.
00:47:01we can learn
00:47:02from that, and
00:47:03we ought not
00:47:04argue with
00:47:04Yahweh's
00:47:05rationale.
00:47:08So while
00:47:12after working
00:47:13some 40
00:47:15receptive
00:47:16Israelites
00:47:17since that
00:47:18time, and
00:47:19God's worked
00:47:19with a lot
00:47:20of Israelites
00:47:22who were
00:47:23receptive to
00:47:23him, listened
00:47:24to him, and
00:47:25agreed to
00:47:26engage, each
00:47:28of whom
00:47:28Yahweh has
00:47:30inspired as
00:47:31prophets,
00:47:34why do you
00:47:35think that
00:47:35God chose a
00:47:36goi, especially
00:47:38this one, who
00:47:40appears so
00:47:40unqualified to
00:47:42share these
00:47:42insights with
00:47:43you at this
00:47:45time?
00:47:46begs the
00:47:47question.
00:47:48He chose
00:47:48Moshe, do
00:47:48you know
00:47:49why?
00:47:49He chose
00:47:49Doe, do
00:47:50you know
00:47:50why?
00:47:50He chose
00:47:51me, do
00:47:53you know
00:47:53why?
00:47:54Do you
00:47:54care?
00:47:55Does it
00:47:55matter to
00:47:56you?
00:47:57Obviously, there
00:47:59were in my
00:47:59situation, thousands
00:48:01of scholars and
00:48:02theologians, better
00:48:04educated and
00:48:05equipped to
00:48:07perform this
00:48:08mission, to
00:48:10call his people
00:48:11out of Babylon by
00:48:13more accurately and
00:48:14completely presenting
00:48:15his testimony to
00:48:17his people, writing
00:48:18better translations
00:48:19and providing
00:48:21insights on
00:48:22them.
00:48:23But others were
00:48:24not called, and
00:48:26they were not
00:48:27chosen for a
00:48:28host of
00:48:29reasons, all
00:48:30of which are
00:48:32worth considering.
00:48:35First, theologians
00:48:36with PhDs in
00:48:38biblical languages
00:48:39are engrossed in
00:48:40religion, they
00:48:42earn a living
00:48:42from it.
00:48:44Moshe had
00:48:45walked away
00:48:46from it, so
00:48:47had I.
00:48:48So, by
00:48:48definition, they
00:48:49are not
00:48:50liberated from
00:48:51this plague, as
00:48:53is required by
00:48:54God.
00:48:55Abraham, of
00:48:56course, had
00:48:56walked away from
00:48:57the religious and
00:48:58political entanglements
00:48:59of Babylon before
00:49:02God spoke to
00:49:03him.
00:49:04Now, second, for
00:49:05a scholar to
00:49:06maintain a
00:49:07standing in
00:49:08academia, they
00:49:09must ultimately
00:49:10profess what
00:49:11God detests, a
00:49:13politically
00:49:13correct, inclusive,
00:49:15multicultural, and
00:49:16exceedingly liberal
00:49:18agenda.
00:49:19They cannot serve as
00:49:20liberators because
00:49:21Yahweh's words lead
00:49:23in the opposite
00:49:24direction that is
00:49:25necessary for them
00:49:27to maintain
00:49:27tenure.
00:49:28Simply stated,
00:49:29theologians and
00:49:30scholars cannot do
00:49:31as God requests
00:49:33without undermining
00:49:34their careers and
00:49:35standing in the
00:49:37religious and
00:49:38academic communities
00:49:39that they
00:49:40represent.
00:49:42Now, third, there
00:49:43is a tendency for
00:49:45the acclaimed and
00:49:46credentialed to
00:49:46remain self-reliant
00:49:48and to be
00:49:49entrenched.
00:49:50They're far less
00:49:52likely to rely on
00:49:53God, and Yahweh
00:49:54works with us by
00:49:55enlightening and
00:49:56empowering those who
00:49:58are open to him and
00:49:59receptive.
00:50:00If you're going to
00:50:02work with God, you
00:50:03have to be willing to
00:50:05learn, to listen to
00:50:07him, to be
00:50:10thoughtful, to go
00:50:11where his words
00:50:12lead.
00:50:12And if you're not,
00:50:14it's not going to
00:50:15happen.
00:50:16If you think you're
00:50:17smarter than God,
00:50:18which would include
00:50:19all of the rabbis and
00:50:20many biblical
00:50:22scholars, you think
00:50:23you're smarter than
00:50:24the author of the
00:50:25text, which they
00:50:25do, you're of no
00:50:29use to God.
00:50:32Now, with the
00:50:33distortions promoted
00:50:34by Marxist
00:50:36progressives through
00:50:36politics, academia,
00:50:38and the media, with
00:50:39rampant anti-Semitism,
00:50:41cancel culture, critical
00:50:43race theory, black
00:50:44lives matter,
00:50:45multiculturalism,
00:50:46feminism, non-binary
00:50:48genders, misandry,
00:50:51democratic socialism,
00:50:56LGBTQIA+, SWERFs,
00:51:02TERFs, T-E-R-Fs, and
00:51:05all things woke.
00:51:08Well, I certainly
00:51:09long for a time when
00:51:11relative stupidity of
00:51:13political correctness was
00:51:14the extent of our
00:51:15issues, but we've gone
00:51:18we past ignorant now.
00:51:21Slightly ahead of his
00:51:22time in 1984, George
00:51:25Olwell wrote,
00:51:26every record has been
00:51:27destroyed or falsified,
00:51:29every book rewritten,
00:51:31every picture has been
00:51:32repainted, every statue
00:51:34and street and building
00:51:36has been renamed, every
00:51:38date has been altered, and
00:51:40that process is continuing
00:51:42day by day and minute by
00:51:44minute.
00:51:44History has stopped.
00:51:47Nothing exists except an
00:51:49endless present in which the
00:51:51party is always right, and
00:51:55it is the willingness to
00:51:57bow to the revisionist
00:52:00mandates of the
00:52:02politicized left, along
00:52:04with the madness and the
00:52:07religious right, particularly
00:52:08today, as MAGAs are so
00:52:11enamored with this corporeal
00:52:15manifestation of Satan that
00:52:16is infecting the White
00:52:18House, that the field is
00:52:21narrowed of candidates
00:52:24through whom you know
00:52:25can speak, such that in
00:52:28this case, yeah, it was
00:52:29left with a lone flawed
00:52:30but serviceable boy.
00:52:33And of course, I had also
00:52:36walked away from religion
00:52:38and politics, so at least
00:52:40I was approachable.
00:52:42And while I have long
00:52:44assumed that I was offered
00:52:45this job per defaultum,
00:52:49and the defaultum being
00:52:51that no one else was
00:52:56available, no one else
00:52:57wanted it, no one else
00:52:58would even listen to God.
00:53:00Now, having studied Yahweh's
00:53:02preferences, it is also
00:53:03likely that I, like
00:53:05Moshe before me, possessed
00:53:07some attributes and
00:53:08attitudes that Yahweh wanted
00:53:10to develop.
00:53:11In addition, I met his
00:53:14prerequisite because, like
00:53:15Moshe, prior to our first
00:53:18meeting, I had
00:53:19experienced and then
00:53:20rejected religion and
00:53:22politics.
00:53:24Now, such inquiry and
00:53:27introspection, even
00:53:28curiosity, are essential
00:53:30components of our
00:53:31interaction and our
00:53:32communication with God.
00:53:34We should question
00:53:35everything and strive to
00:53:37appreciate why the
00:53:38narratives which comprise
00:53:40the Torah and prophets
00:53:40have been provided for us.
00:53:42We need to know why the
00:53:45things we were told about
00:53:46Moshe and what he did in
00:53:48Mitzrayim matter.
00:53:51Why did he tell us that
00:53:53story?
00:53:54Why were we appraised of the
00:53:56story of Joseph?
00:53:57Why do these things follow
00:53:59sequentially for our
00:54:02understanding?
00:54:05God's communicating a
00:54:07message every time he
00:54:08talks to someone and
00:54:10that voice is recorded.
00:54:12So our goal ought to be to
00:54:14understand the insights and
00:54:16the lessons which can be
00:54:18deduced from each of these
00:54:20narratives and then
00:54:22ascertain how they apply to
00:54:25our lives today.
00:54:26What can we glean from this
00:54:28that will cause everyone
00:54:32who is listening to be more
00:54:35responsive to Yahweh, to
00:54:38listen to him, to learn from
00:54:39him, to respond to him, and
00:54:43then to prove reliable?
00:54:46Moshe would.
00:54:47How about you?
00:54:51So then he, God, responded.
00:54:56Indeed, I will be with you.
00:55:02Indeed, be assured.
00:55:06I was, indeed, I am, and I
00:55:12always will be.
00:55:14Call imperfect.
00:55:15What I'm telling you now is
00:55:17true over the full course of
00:55:19time.
00:55:22I was, I am, and I always
00:55:26will be with you.
00:55:29That's why.
00:55:32I cannot help, of course, but
00:55:34laugh at so much of this,
00:55:36even in this most telling of
00:55:38passages, Yahweh has inserted
00:55:40something I particularly find
00:55:42humorous, especially in light of
00:55:44my personal inadequacies.
00:55:46Well, the primary meaning of M
00:55:48is as I have rendered it with,
00:55:51alongside, near, and in an
00:55:54associated, interactive
00:55:56relationship.
00:55:57It also means in spite of, which I
00:56:01can take to mean, God will
00:56:03complete his mission, sometimes in
00:56:05spite of Moshe's feelings, mine or
00:56:08yours.
00:56:10It is something I have long
00:56:11known, but it's nice to see it in
00:56:14writing, nonetheless.
00:56:15And I will be a little careful
00:56:17here.
00:56:17God chooses those he's going to
00:56:19work through very carefully.
00:56:21It is true that everyone God has
00:56:23chosen up to this point has given
00:56:25up.
00:56:26The job was just too much.
00:56:28But they rose to the occasion after
00:56:31having fallen down and completed the
00:56:34mission.
00:56:34So God knows how difficult it is, and
00:56:40yet he has chosen characters that he
00:56:43can provide sufficient strength for
00:56:47them to do as needs to be done.
00:56:50So Yahweh, just the fact is, he
00:56:53prefers to do things, everything,
00:56:57including the biggest of things, with
00:57:00and through people rather than alone.
00:57:04Sure, he could have blasted the
00:57:06Egyptians and then paved a yellow brick
00:57:09road for his people to follow home.
00:57:11But instead, he went to an 80-year-old
00:57:14broken-down shepherd on the lam.
00:57:19Why?
00:57:21Because it's the way God likes to work.
00:57:27Do you think that Yahweh could have
00:57:29built a boat and just snapped his
00:57:33fingers and say, Ark?
00:57:35Or do you think that he already had a
00:57:37history with Noah and knew that they
00:57:40would work together and they would teach
00:57:41the world a lesson about what was
00:57:43possible if we listened to God and do as
00:57:45he requests?
00:57:50What do you think?
00:57:51Do you think that God needed an eight-year-old
00:57:54shepherd boy with a
00:57:59a mother that he labeled as a whore and a
00:58:03father who was a jerk?
00:58:05Do you think he needed him to lead his
00:58:10people, Israel?
00:58:12Or do you think that God could have done it
00:58:14on his own should he have chosen?
00:58:16And I'm here to tell you, God couldn't do it
00:58:18on his own.
00:58:20Not because he doesn't have sufficient power.
00:58:22He obviously does agree to the universe.
00:58:24Not because he doesn't have sufficient
00:58:26motivation.
00:58:26He made a promise.
00:58:27He's going to honor it.
00:58:28He does.
00:58:31Because it would be contrary to his
00:58:32nature.
00:58:33We're a long way now from me telling you
00:58:36God's name and we're not going to get to
00:58:37it on this first episode of Yahweh's name
00:58:40and nature.
00:58:42But we are to the point where I can tell
00:58:44you that it is in God's nature never to
00:58:48work alone if it's possible to work
00:58:51through someone.
00:58:53Always.
00:58:54It is God's preference.
00:58:56It's why he created us.
00:58:57It is what he wants to achieve.
00:58:59So he would have to be contrary to his
00:59:02nature to have gone into Mitzrayim and
00:59:07pulverized Pharaoh and his army to endear
00:59:12himself with his people and pull them out.
00:59:14No, working through and communicating with
00:59:18Moshe was a much better plan.
00:59:21Building the ark through Noah, a better
00:59:23plan.
00:59:25Toppling Goliath with a stone from an
00:59:28eight-year-old boy or thereabouts and to
00:59:31unify his people was a better choice.
00:59:36All the way through, God could have spoken
00:59:40boldly to everyone instead of using
00:59:44Yahshua.
00:59:45But look how much we gain by having
00:59:46Yahshua's vocabulary and persona bleed
00:59:50through the text.
00:59:53It's just God's preference.
00:59:56He could have his booming voice broadcast
01:00:00right to you through this microphone.
01:00:03He wouldn't need to bring up the Torah
01:00:06passages that I'm reading to you because,
01:00:08well, he authored them.
01:00:13He could speak to everyone directly, but he
01:00:18would have to alter his nature to do so.
01:00:22God has chosen that he wants to work
01:00:25through his creation.
01:00:27You can choose to listen to those who he
01:00:30is authorized to speak for him or not, your
01:00:32choice, but you can't change who he is.
01:00:35And he is not going to change who he is
01:00:37for you.
01:00:38He is not going to perform a miracle for
01:00:41you.
01:00:42He is not going to be a little voice in
01:00:43your head.
01:00:44He is not going to answer your prayers.
01:00:46He picks just as he did with Moshe,
01:00:49just as he did with Noach,
01:00:52just as he did with Chanuk,
01:00:55just as he did with Elia,
01:00:57just as he did with Abraham,
01:01:00just as he did with Dodd,
01:01:02just as he did with Yirmiyah and Yashiyah.
01:01:07Yahweh picks those he wishes to communicate
01:01:11through, those he wishes to work with,
01:01:15and he is consistent.
01:01:18These people are his choice.
01:01:21They have volunteered to do what God wants done.
01:01:25They all have very similar characteristics in the
01:01:29sense that they're all good listeners.
01:01:32They're all very active in the process of being
01:01:37observant, closely examining everything.
01:01:39They are thoughtful.
01:01:41They will go with the words lead.
01:01:43They're responsive to what God wants.
01:01:45They're willing to engage to work,
01:01:47and they are learning on the job.
01:01:51They make mistakes.
01:01:52They grow from them.
01:01:54They tumble and fall.
01:01:55They get back up and go.
01:01:57They show you exactly what God can do
01:02:01when we're receptive to him.
01:02:06This is an essential aspect of God's nature,
01:02:09and I want you to know about it
01:02:11because you cannot know God
01:02:13until you can accept the fact
01:02:15that he has chosen those who speak for him,
01:02:20and I'm included in that group.
01:02:23I didn't choose God.
01:02:25He chose me,
01:02:26and he had his reasons,
01:02:28and he has issued upwards of 1,000 prophecies
01:02:33to affirm his choice.
01:02:36He chose Moshe.
01:02:39He had his reasons,
01:02:41and we need to glean as much as we possibly can
01:02:46about why God made this particular choice.
01:02:52Well, I thank you for listening.
01:02:53I look forward to being with you later today
01:02:56as we bring you episode two
01:02:59of Yahweh's name
01:03:02and his purpose,
01:03:05his personality,
01:03:06and all things that can be known
01:03:09about our God.
01:03:11Thank you for listening.
