00:00Young man who identified himself as a 400-level student in the Department of Statistics at the University of Joss.
00:07UniJoss in Plateau State has given accounts how he was told to go and collect the dead body of his
00:13sibling on the phone by the attackers
00:15who on Wednesday were seen in a viral video that mobbed and stoned his sibling almost to death at an
00:21ever-busy road near the permanent site of the University of Joss.
00:25Accordingly, he said the victim who happened to be his younger sibling is also a 300-level student in the
00:32Department of Geology from the same University of Joss,
00:35saying, his younger sibling only went out around 8 or 9 on Wednesday morning to resolve issue with his bank
00:42account at Terminus Area of the Joss City
00:44when he came under attack after the driver of the commercial tricycle or KK he entered abandoned him halfway
00:50and asked him to find way out for his own escape as the rampaging mobs took over the road.
00:56According to the elder brother of the mob victim who also introduced himself simply as Nando,
01:02his younger sibling already sensing danger, called him on the phone,
01:06that the KK driver had abandoned him halfway before the junction of his house,
01:10that, he's currently running on the street towards home, adding,
01:14the victim begged him to look for commercial motorcycle or a KK rider to advance towards his direction
01:20and wait at their street junction to help him home, but, while he made attempt to do as requested by
01:26his younger brother,
01:28the security operatives in the area prevented him, saying,
01:31they can't allow him go out because the situation in town was too dangerous.
01:36He said while he was looking helpless, he decided to put a call across to his younger brother,
01:42only for the phone's call to be answered by the attackers who spoke to him in house the language that
01:47they have killed his brother,
01:49that, he should go to the scene to pick his younger brother's dead body.
01:53He said he started crying and a lot of people around started consoling him
01:57while the security operatives at the senior staff quarters gate still prevented him from going out until there is normalcy
02:04in the area.
02:06He said some sympathizers took him home from the point he was to the university staff quarters
02:11where his neighbors who came in to also console him started encouraging him not to cry again,
02:16with the optimism that, his younger brother is not dead.
02:20He said one of his neighbors thereafter asked him to report the issue at the police station,
02:25which they did and submitted the snapped copy of the victim's student identity card at the police station
02:31and returned home waiting for feedback from the police.
02:34He said he was waiting on the police for feedback, he decided to log in into his WhatsApp group chats,
02:40and behold, he saw a video of his younger brother being interviewed at a hospital bed inside an undisclosed medical
02:47center
02:47and that was how he knew he was still alive and his whereabouts.
02:51It would be recalled that we had reported that it may not be wrong to say lack of proper accountability
02:56by the Nigeria police force.
02:58President Bola Ahmed Tanubu and the governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mutfwang is largely responsible
03:05for the daily killings in the troubled Joss city of Plateau State.
03:09This is probably glaring on Wednesday when a resident reported with a video evidence of a disturbing situation
03:15wherein a man was seen mobbed and stoned to death at a very popular and ever-busy road
03:20apparently within the area or near the University of Joss permanent site,
03:25group of attackers as seen in the video operated for some minutes if not up to an hour,
03:30used sticks, stones among others to hit the victim's head until they were satisfied the man would have been dead,
03:37while vehicles were seen speeding off,
03:39and moving away from them with no resistance or timely response from the
03:43Nigerian security operatives even when the worsening security situations and tensions in Plateau State
03:50have become of global concern.
03:52This, the Plateau State command of the Nigeria police force in a statement on Wednesday,
03:58only said a disagreement ensued between some youths in Nassarawoguang community of Joss North local government area
04:05on Wednesday and caused minor tensions in the town, saying,
04:09Unfortunately, some hoodlums and crisis merchants took advantage of the situation to cause fear and panic
04:16among traders and students within the university community.
04:20However, the command in collaboration with other security agencies swiftly intervened,
04:26arrested the situation and restored calm in the area
04:29but the Nigeria police force command apparently kept mute on the now viral video of a man being mobbed
04:35and stoned to death in a brutal and highly provocative manner that can cause a reprisal attack,
04:41more so, as daily killings in the state are attributed to religious differences,
04:45although some persons said the victim was still alive but Sun newspaper reported on Thursday morning
04:51that three persons including the victim were killed in the fresh violence that erupted in Plateau State on Wednesday.
04:58When the daybreak, my brother was like, he wants to go to the Terminus
05:04because he was like, he's having an issue with his bank.
05:08So, he said that he's going to the Terminus so that he wants to find an issue and come back.
05:15So, I'm going to the Terminus and like, that's how the thing started
05:19because he left, he left from around 8 to 9, Terminus, so when he went to Terminus
05:25and he was like, the bank was not even opened there because there is tension still going on.
05:31When he saw that the bank was not open, UBF bank, so as he wants to turn and started coming
05:36back quarters
05:38and that's how the thing happened, you just see people running everywhere, everybody just trying to escape, running.
05:44He now entered the KK, he managed to go to the KK, so he entered and like, the KK was
05:51even taking him not too far from Terminus, and the KK man saw that almost, they are just fighting, people
05:57are running for their life, all these guys stop, now stop and say almost, he said like, you just come
06:03down and know how to escape.
06:06So, when my brother came down, he saw the situation, he now picked his phone, he called me, he's in
06:14Terminus, Trent's coming back, he got the KK, but the KK man didn't reach him to our junction, so, but
06:21it's not quite far, it's not too far from our junction, yeah, so he's just running, like, with his leg,
06:26so that maybe he'll reach our junction, so that he'll enter inside, you know, stop at us, and he was
06:29like, please, can I come to the junction, maybe if I can see a bike, something like that, so that
06:33I'll come and carry him or help me out,
06:36and I was like, okay, okay, let me come down to the junction, so when we end that call, and
06:40I was, I came out of my room, I locked my room,
06:44or when I was trying to go out, I reached our senior staff quarter's gate, the security is there, couldn't
06:49allow me to go out, because of the condition of, like, of the place, because of the condition of the
06:56place, it's not that safe,
06:58so they said that I will not be going out of the boat, I have to stay, because if you
07:04lock the gate, they allowed me to go, and I was like,
07:07but my brother called me, and this is how they said, they're not okay, if there is a case, let
07:11me, let me call him back, so when I called him, and the people that, I don't know, the people
07:18that attack him,
07:19I don't even know, they are the one that picked the call, and they was like, they picked the call,
07:25and they just say hello, and it's like, the next thing they start telling me, that's what they were telling
07:29me,
07:30I was like, that they have killed my brother, that they have killed my brother, that I should come and
07:32take his corpse, from there, I just, my heart just broke, I just started crying,
07:37I was crying, I was crying, I was crying, when people were coming, they were seeing me crying, everything was
07:44in the door, and they just managed to take me to my police quarters,
07:48so when I reached there, I was even crying, I was just crying, my neighbors, people around, they came out,
07:55and I was like, what is going on, and I told them, this is, this is what is going on
07:58with my brother,
07:59he went out, he went out, telling us, coming back, all these kinds of, and they were like, let me
08:05keep quiet, my brother is not dead,
08:08they believe that, he will still come back, let me stop crying, they believe that, they believe that my brother
08:12is,
08:13maybe someone come and rescue him to the hospital, or something like that, or maybe his wall fell down,
08:18and they picked it, and they were just trying to put fear, fear in me, and I was like, all
08:23right, let me just, they'll just try and consult me,
08:26they'll calm me down, I said, okay, so when I stayed for one hour, yeah, let me just one hour,
08:33I was like, I was like, I was really, really worried,
08:37then one of my, my landlady, my neighbors, she came and told me, told me how that, let us just
08:44go back to the security people,
08:45and go and report to them that, maybe they, maybe they can go out and look for him, or, even
08:51if it is, like, he's dead,
08:53but let them, maybe let them find him, okay, thank God, he left his ID card, he didn't took his
08:59ID card to the terminal,
09:01so I carried the ID card along with me, so we went, we tell them that, so this is the
09:06person that,
09:07he went to the terminal, and we don't even know, whether they have killed him, or he's still alive,
09:12and now collect the ID card, they snap the ID card, and I said, okay,
09:16let me just go back to my, to my DQ, let me just go and relax, they'll know what to
09:22do about it,
09:23and I said, okay, so, and I went back to my, my quarters, I was there, I was there, one
09:30hour, two hours,
09:31around, exactly, it was 12 to one, and I also, I now logged into my group chat, and I now,
09:38so,
09:38they started posting videos, because my group chat, they know me, so, there's, there's also the video
09:45online, and just started posting on my, on my, on my WhatsApp platform, and I was like, when I enter,
09:52I checked the video, and I just, I played the video, and I, and I, I hear, it's my royal
09:57voice,
09:58they were like, trying to make him, they interviewed him, they were asking him, okay, what is your name,
10:04I said, his name is Longji Monshap, which, which, which, which department, he said,
10:09geology, 200 level, University of Joss, then the woman was like, okay, you have a relative,
10:16or do you stay with anyone around, and he said, yes, he said, what is the name of the person,
10:21he said, his name is Nandong, I said, okay, and the woman was like, today, she, she asked him,
10:28okay, which, which department, she said, Excel statistics department, 400 level,
10:32the woman was like, everything there, then, it was, post, they post the video online,
10:38so, that's how people are just attacking me, the people started calling me, everything,
10:43that's how I know, where, it's where,
10:49it may not be wrong to say lack of proper accountability by the Nigeria police force,
10:56President Bola Ahmed Tenubu and the Governor of Plateau State, Caleb Mufwang is largely responsible

12:43persons said the victim was still alive but Sun newspaper reported on Thursday morning that three
12:48persons including the victim were killed in the fresh violence that erupted in Plateau State on Wednesday.
12:55According to the police press release signed and made available by the Plateau State Police Command
13:00Public Relations Officer, Alfred Alibo, following the relaxation of the 48-hour curfew by the
13:07Executive Governor of Plateau State, the Commissioner of Police, C.P. Basiowa, advises members of the
13:14public to comply with the curfew imposition, as there will be strict enforcement.
13:19In the early hours of today, a disagreement which ensued between some youths in Nasarawagwang community of
13:25Joss North local government area caused minor tensions in the town. Unfortunately, some hoodlums and
13:32crisis merchants took advantage of the situation to cause fear and panic among traders and students
13:38within the university community. However, the command in collaboration with other security agencies
13:44swiftly intervened, arrested the situation and restored calm in the area. Efforts have since been made by the
13:51police, the state government and the leadership of the school to provide buses to convey the students to
13:57their preferred locations while massive security deployment has been made by the command to secure
14:02other students and school facilities. So far, the command has arrested seven suspects including one Matthew
14:10Musa, 27 years, who was arrested in possession of two locally made firearms and one Yakubu Abdullahi,
14:1726 years old who was wearing a military uniform with an extra shirt and a forged Nigerian military school
14:24identity card. The suspects are currently under investigation at the state CID and will be charged
14:30to court upon conclusion. The CP hereby warns all criminal elements who intend to use this as an
14:37avenue to cause mayhem within the state, that the command will not hesitate to deal with them
14:42severely in accordance with the law. He, further warns that the command will not stand and watch lawless
14:48hoodlums turn the state into a theater for violence. He therefore calls on all parents, traditional,
14:55religious leaders to warn their children, wards, congregants and followers to abide by the curfew
15:01restrictions, as the command will show no mercy in ensuring that the law takes its full course.

16:03President Bola Ahmed Tanubu said, I have postponed my trip to Iperu, Ogun State. My first duty at this
16:11moment is to stand with the people of Plato. I will be in Joss to commiserate with families who have
16:17lost
16:18loved ones and to reaffirm that those who seek to spread fear will not prevail. We will continue to
16:24strengthen our security response and ensure that justice is done. From Plato, I will proceed to
16:30Lagos to observe Good Friday, and then continue with scheduled engagements in Ogun, Lagos, and Bielsa
16:36focused on infrastructure, trade, and economic growth. In moments of grief, we must stand together.
16:44In moments of progress, we must keep building. The work continues.
16:49Nigeria first. Governor Caleb Muffuang of Plato State also stated in a statement on Wednesday that,
16:55today, I visited President Bola Ahmed Tanubu to brief him on the Palm Sunday night attack in the
17:01Wenerukuba community of Joss Wharf local government area, and to update him on the proactive measures we
17:07have taken to address the situation. The incident was deeply unfortunate, but we thank God that the
17:14situation has now been brought under control. In response to the attack, we swiftly implemented
17:20several proactive steps, including the imposition of a 48-hour curfew, the reinforcement of the existing
17:26ban on motorcycle operations within the Greater Joss Master Plan, and the immediate convening of a
17:32State Security Council meeting to review and strengthen our security framework to prevent
17:37further escalation. This morning, we relaxed the curfew from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. to allow residents
17:44attend to essential activities. Regrettably, some miscreants took advantage of this window to engage
17:51in looting and attempt to disrupt the peace. I am, however, pleased to report that our security forces
17:58responded promptly and restored order without delay. The President expressed his support for the
18:04decisive measures we have put in place to contain the situation and prevent a recurrence of such
18:09unfortunate incidents. He also offered valuable counsel on strategies to achieve lasting peace in
18:16the state and extended his heartfelt condolences to the victims and the people of Plato State.
18:21Deeply moved by the situation, the President has graciously adjusted his schedule to undertake an
18:27emergency visit to Plato State as a demonstration of his concern, solidarity, and commitment to the
18:33people. He has also approved additional measures to be implemented in collaboration with security
18:39agencies to further stabilize the situation. Punch newspaper had reported earlier on Wednesday that
18:46tension has again erupted in Joss, Plato State, as fresh attacks by hoodlums on motorists and residents
18:53were recorded across several parts of the city on Wednesday, despite the recent relaxation of the
18:59curfew by the state government. According to our correspondent, sources said a young man walking
19:05along the road leading to the Unijoss permanent site was hacked to death by hoodlums who descended on him
19:10without provocation. The killing further heightened panic among residents already, on edge over the
19:17growing unrest. In the terminus, Bauchi Road and Gangya areas, several motorists had their windscreens
19:24smashed as mobs attacked passing vehicles and pedestrians. Business activities were paralyzed
19:30across affected communities, with many shop owners refusing to open for fear of being caught in the
19:36violence. Banks operating in the volatile locations were also forced to shut down operations temporarily,
19:43as staff and customers struggled to navigate the escalating tension. Residents listed the most
19:49affected areas as the Unijoss Corridor, Bauchi Road, Farangada, Tina Junction and Chobe, noting that
19:56movement had significantly thinned out as many people opted to remain indoors. Sun newspaper also reported
20:03that, few hours after the relaxation of the 48-hour curfew imposed by the Plateau state government
20:09over Sunday's killing in Angwin-Rakuba, fresh violence erupted around the city center yesterday
20:15heightening tension and uncertainty. In the latest orgy of violence, two persons were killed in Gardabue area
20:22when some rampaging youths attacked traders who had displayed their wares early in the morning while the
20:28third person was hacked to death along Farangada markets near the main campus of the University of
20:33Joss Unijoss. In the heat of the mayhem, the bells of the Fatima Cathedral church continuously tolled,
20:40signaling troubles. Consequently youth from Gardabue, Apartha and Chobe barricaded the gigantic edifice and
20:47chased away hoodlums who attempted to attack the church.
20:51As the chief security officer of the state, how can you correct this impression of the true picture of
20:57what is happening? Well, in a crisis of this nature you can reduce it to one reason. It's a mixture
21:05of
21:05multiple reasons and sometimes you can only deduce the actual reasons when you are able to get two
21:14groups of people, first the victims and then the attackers. Unfortunately we've not been able to lay
21:20hands on the attackers yet to know their identities and their motive but of course the victims would
21:29normally speak like you have said and but we are seeing this as an act of criminality. It's barbaric,
21:37we condemn it, it's an act of terrorism because whatever religion you belong to it does not give you any
21:45basis to come and do the kind of actions that were done on on sunday. We're therefore hoping that going
21:53forward we'll deal with this as criminality.
22:01President Bola Ahmed Tanubu of Nigeria has commended the governors of Kaduna and Plateau states after
22:08citizens were massacred by terrorists almost simultaneously on sunday in the two states.
22:13With the president claiming governor Caleb Muthuan contained the situation in Joss without
22:18specifically stating what the governor did, even when armed terrorists seen successfully invaded and
22:24massacred citizens or brutally and indiscriminately shot sporadically and killed numbers of persons at
22:30Gary Yar way quarters in the Angwin Rekuba community of Joss North local government area of Plateau
22:37state on Sunday night which was also the Christians last day of the holy week of Lend known as Palm
22:43Sunday
22:44leading up to Easter celebration. Residents said the terrorists raided the community and operated for
22:50a long period of time that lasted up to an hour without resistance or any action from government,
22:56some even accused men of the armed forces of Nigeria, AFN of allegedly aiding and giving cover to the
23:03terrorists to escape. Specifically, one of the youth's leaders in Plateau state who spoke with
23:08a prominent Nigeria social media personality, Martins Vincentots aka Varidagman who visited the scene of
23:15the crime, said, Nigeria soldiers prevented the youths from going after the terrorists and stood in between the
23:22gaps shooting at the youths while the terrorists escaped. But, in a swift reaction on Tuesday, Nigeria army
23:29authority debunked the claim that the soldiers gave the terrorists a cover, saying, the soldiers arrived
23:35the scene with four gun trucks after the terrorists had left due to long distance and acted professionally
23:40without stating what the soldiers did, professionally, before the Sunday massacre, on Friday, in one of the
23:47burial ceremonies of the people that were previously killed by terrorists in Plateau state during the
23:53Christian's Holy Week of Lent, Rev. Ezekiel Dacamo while speaking, said, in this village, Riminrium local
24:00government area, alone, we have received attacks from the Islamic terrorists more than 24 times,
24:07and many residents said the Sunday massacre was premeditated and the governor and the president
24:12apparently failed to put proactive measures in place to prevent the attacks, that aside, almost at the
24:18same time on Sunday, another group of terrorists attacked Kahir village in Kagako local government
24:24area of Kaduna state, shot sporadically at residents and killed and kidnapped several numbers of wedding
24:30guests, a crime, according to Punch newspaper, a resident said the attackers operated freely and
24:36successfully up to an hour without resistance. But, President Bola Ahmed Tanubu in a press statement on
24:43Tuesday specifically said, I commend Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau state for his efforts in
24:48containing the situation in JOS and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna state for supporting the rescue and
24:54containment efforts. Apparently reacting to the worsening security situation in Nigeria shortly after
25:01the president press release was published on Tuesday, Lieutenant General Takua Baratai, former Nigeria
25:08chief of army staff posted a video in his verified Facebook social media account, with a statement,
25:14history, Mediguri, Nigeria, year 2017. For the first time in years, the Nigerian army conducted military
25:23drills in the Sambisa forest which previously had been a stronghold for Boko Haram. Voice of America,
25:30VOA was given rare access to the exercises. Formations of the Nigerian army performed their
25:372017 annual drill in Borno state, in northeast Nigeria. The location in Sambisa forest was no
25:45accident. The Nigerian army retic Sambisa late 2016 and moved its annual exercises there. The event
25:52was attended by leaders from the military and the Nigerian government. In contrast to the commendation
25:59of Plateau and Kaduna states. Governors, it would be recalled that President Bola Tanubu declared a state
26:05of emergency in Rivers State on March 18, 2025 and gave six-month suspension to the governor,
26:12Simona Lai Fibara and his deputy, and the State House of Assembly on the grounds that the Fibara
26:18administration was failing to protect critical infrastructure, specifically regarding the
26:23reported vandalization of oil pipelines like Trans Niger pipeline without intervention,
26:28even in the face of verifiable facts that on February 18, 2025, exactly one month before his
26:36suspension, Fibara met with the general officer commanding, GOC of the 6th Division, pledging full
26:42support for military efforts to curb pipeline vandalism and protect national infrastructure and
26:48invested in operational equipment, including donating vehicles, gunboats, and an AW-139 helicopter to the
26:56Nigerian Air Force on March 5, 2025 to enhance their efficiency in patrolling oil facilities,
27:03while Fibara also publicly charged traditional rulers to actively work for peace in the domains
27:09and help stem the tide of oil bunkering and vandalism. According to American humanitarian and
27:15people's rights activist, Alex Barbier, if you have no right to breathe, what right do you have?
27:21While people are fighting for elections, and painting banners of Tanubu, and everybody's worrying about
27:28APC, PDP, LP, you are being killed. At what point will the people care about life? Alex Barbier made
27:37this in reaction to the Sunday massacre at Gary Yahweh area in Joss, while speaking with the locals at the
27:43scene of the crime. While Reverend Ezekiel Dacamo called on President Donald Trump of the United States,
27:50U.S. to send a small unit of U.S. soldiers alongside U.S. drones to Plateau State else the
27:56people in the state would be wiped out by the Islami terrorists. Reacting to soldiers giving
28:01the terrorists cover to escape, Captain Chenonso Policarpo-Tay, the media information officer of
28:08Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace in a rebuttal on Tuesday, stated in quotes that,
28:14the attention of Headquarters Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace has been drawn to a
28:19false comment by one of the youth leaders of Angwin-Rakuba community, circulating on various
28:25social media platforms, alleging that troops provided cover for the perpetrators of Palm Sunday
28:31unprovoked attack at Angwin-Rakuba community in Joss North local government area of Plateau State.
28:37Ordinarily, the reply to the comment made by the youth leader would not have been necessary,
28:43especially in this moment of grief, but for the purpose of clarity and the benefit of well-meaning
28:48Nigerians it is expedient to state unequivocally that at no point did troops provide any form of
28:54cover for the terrorists' elements who carried out the unfortunate attack that claimed the lives of
28:59innocent citizens. Rather, troops on receiving a distress call on the unfortunate incident swiftly
29:05mobilized to the scene, which was far away from where they were deployed and observed that the
29:10attackers had fled. Troops acted professionally to avert what could have spiraled to endless
29:16bloodshed and pursued the fleeing criminals as can be attested to, by so many survivors who were at
29:21the scene of the attack. Specifically, four gun trucks mounted by troops were dispatched to the incident
29:27scene and they acted professionally on arrival as confirmed by other security agencies,
29:32as well as eyewitnesses at the scene of the attack. Nonetheless, the allegation was promptly
29:38investigated and confirmed to be false. The comment by the youth leader is false, misleading and
29:45unfortunate, capable of demoralizing troops and causing disaffection between the military and its host
29:50community. The public is requested to discountenance the comment, remain calm, law-abiding and continue to
29:58support troops with credible and actionable information on terrorists activities. Troops in
30:04conjunction with other security agencies have adopted effective strategies to unravel and apprehend the
30:09perpetrators of the dastardly act. Troops will continue to deal decisively with criminals while
30:15maintaining peace in every part of plateau state. Nigeria presidency in a statement signed and made
30:22available by Bayo Onanuga. The special advisor to the president on information and strategy on
30:28Tuesday, President Bola Tanubu has strongly condemned the barbaric and cowardly attacks by gunmen in Angwin
30:34Rakuba district, Joss, Plateau state. He equally condemned the attacks in Kahir village in Kagako local
30:42government area of Kaduna state. Describing the attack on the community in Joss and the killing and
30:48abduction of wedding guests in Kaduna as an affront to all that Nigeria stands for, President Tanubu assured
30:54Nigerians that the barbaric acts will not go unpunished. Anyone who will sneak under the cover
31:00of the night and kill defenseless citizens as done in Joss and Kahir village, is a heartless coward. By
31:07attacking soft targets in Joss, their objective is not only to cause harm but also trigger a spiral of
31:13reprisal attacks and further bloodletting, he said. He has directed security agencies to
31:19intensify all efforts to pursue the perpetrators and those spreading misinformation that can inflame
31:24tensions and further endanger lives. He cautioned some sections of the media, insinuating the attacks
31:31were religiously motivated. President Tanubu reaffirmed that security agencies are actively addressing the
31:38situation and stressed that public cooperation is vital to maintaining peace and protecting lives and
31:43property. He stressed the need for communities to comply with evacuation, relocation, and related
31:50advice and processes. He hailed the safe return of two of the Kaduna victims. I urge our security
31:57agencies to be more proactive in preventing these attacks by acting on early warning intelligence.
32:03All the remaining abductees from Kahir village must be rescued immediately, the president said.
32:09I commend Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State for his efforts in containing the situation in Joss and
32:15Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State for supporting the rescue and containment efforts. I assure the people
32:22and government of the two states of my support. I commiserate with the families of those killed and pray for
32:28the quick recovery of the injured. Our government is currently acquiring more sophisticated equipment
32:34to enable our security agencies to track and smash criminals, in real time, wherever they are.
32:41Meanwhile, Vanguard newspaper reported on Tuesday that the United States Congressman, Riley Moore,
32:48warned yesterday that continued attacks on Christians in Nigeria could strain diplomatic
32:53relations with the U.S., following reports of a deadly Palm Sunday killings in Joss,
32:59Plateau State, and Kaduna State. Recall that no fewer than 40 persons were killed by gunmen suspected to
33:06be terrorists on Sunday night at Angwarakuba community in Joss North local government area of
33:12Plateau State and Kahir village in Kagarko local government area of Kaduna State. While 27 were killed at
33:19Recuba community in Plateau, 13 wedding guests were mowed down by the attackers in Kaduna. The police in
33:26Plateau, however, said only 14 persons were killed in the attack that marred Palm Sunday in the community.
33:34Reacting to the killings in a post on X yesterday, Moore condemned the reported killing of Christians in
33:39Angu and Recuba, describing the incident as part of a troubling pattern of violence targeting
33:45worshippers during religious observances. The congressman, who was part of a United States fact-finding
33:52delegation on alleged Christian genocide in Nigeria, added that such attacks had become frequent during
33:58Christian holy days, urging Nigerian authorities to take decisive action to prevent further bloodshed.
34:05This Palm Sunday, reports from Nigeria indicate that at least 10 Christians were martyred in the city of Joss.
34:12Radical Islamic terrorists opened fire on the Christians before hacking them to pieces with
34:17machetes. This is sickening and unacceptable, but it's not surprising. This tragedy follows a pattern of
34:24radical Islamic terrorists massacring Christians on holy days. In fact, terrorists have attacked
34:31Christians in Nigeria on every single holy day in recent memory, except for last Christmas when
34:37President Trump sent 12 Tomahawk cruise missiles to stop them, he added. Moore called on the federal
34:44government, led by President Bola Tanubu, to urgently strengthen security measures ahead of upcoming
34:50religious events. Abuja knows this pattern and they must massively ramp up security for the Triduum and
34:56Easter. If they don't take this threat seriously and mobilize to defend our brothers and sisters in
35:02Christ, blood of these martyrs will be on their hands, and there will be significant consequences
35:08for Nigeria's relationship with the United States, he warned. Meanwhile, the attackers of the plateau
35:14community, said to be in large numbers, stormed the densely populated community at about 7.30 pm on Palm
35:22Sunday and opened a sporadic fire on residents, throwing the area into panic. Punch newspaper also reported
35:29that, at least 13 persons have been killed, and several others abducted after suspected bandits
35:35attacked a wedding ceremony in Kahir village, Kagako local government area of Kaduna state. The incident,
35:42which occurred late Sunday night at about 11.47 pm, has triggered fresh fears over rising insecurity in
35:49rural communities across the state. Eyewitnesses said the gunmen, who arrived in large numbers and were armed
35:56with sophisticated weapons, stormed the wedding venue and opened fire indiscriminately on guests.
36:02A resident of the area, Shehu Bala, said the incident plunged the community into chaos, as guests
36:09camped for safety. They came in large numbers and started shooting sporadically. People were running
36:15in different directions. Many were hit by bullets, Bala said. He added that several victims sustained
36:22gunshot injuries and were rushed to the general hospital in Kagako, while those in critical
36:27condition were referred to facilities in Kaduna for advanced medical attention. Bala further noted that
36:33the exact number of abducted persons could not be immediately ascertained due to the confusion that
36:39trailed the attack. A community leader, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said the assailants operated
36:45for nearly one hour without any resistance from security forces.
36:49They attacked the wedding and later moved around the village, looting shops and carting away food
36:55items, provisions and even medical supplies, the source said. According to him, many residents fled
37:02into nearby bushes as the sound of gunshots echoed throughout the community. It was gathered that the
37:08victims have since been buried, while efforts to establish contact with the abductors have not yielded
37:14results. He gave the names of some of those killed as Baker Danjuma, Williams Luka, Peter Williams,
37:21Joseph Yakubu, Victor Peter, John Danasabe, Angulu Marcus, Maikano Araby, Douglas John,
37:30Adu Yakubu, Zafania Alhaji, Joseph Kader and Francis Vanguadoya.
37:36In Kabul, they just murdered over 10 people. Innocent Christians. On Palm Sunday.
37:45Tanubu, where are you? As your people are slaughtered in the night. As you sit in Aso Rock and you
37:52do
37:52absolutely nothing. You allow your people to be killed again and again and again and again. When will it
37:59stop? When will you hear the cries of Nigerians, of Christians? You can no longer deny genocide.
38:06They're being slaughtered. And you say there's no issue. You will regret what you are doing.
38:17I'm the youth leader of the Northern Plateau, under the Plateau Youth Council.
38:22I coordinate the Northern Zone from Angorukuba direct. I was trained in Angorukuba, grew up in Angorukuba.
38:30Unfortunate incidents happened yesterday around 7.30. Gunmen just came, started shooting on people.
38:40Some are using matchets. And the unfortunate aspect of it is that most of them are wearing
38:47half-cummed. There's army clothes. And a veil. This house has a veil on their neck. And they were
38:53speaking Hausa in this flani language. Going down spraying bullets on people. And other people are using
39:01matchets. When they are going down in less than 10 minutes, they will now see army car. Like two hillocks
39:08just came. Two bikers. Three, three in one. And give them cover. I was there. I think
39:16one of the army nearly shot me on the leg. He missed and sprayed on the ground. The army,
39:23Nigerian army. The army, the Nigerian army. Sorry, please. I will have to take you back a little. Yes.
39:28You said, you witnessed that when they came down, some of them were shooting. Some of them were using
39:34machete on people. Yes. Army came with your van. Yes. And gave them cover. What do you mean by giving
39:42them cover? Yes. Army hillocks. Two hillocks came. Nigerian army. Nigerian army. When you came out
39:50in mass in order to follow the attackers. On realizing that the attackers. Because three,
39:59two weeks back, NDLE came in, started shooting and arrest some people because of drug issue.
40:05And then when this one started, the boys thought that it was the same operation. Unknowingly,
40:12when we came close, we now realized that the setting of these people, they are not NDLE.
40:18They will now gather the youth, trying to go and move and follow these people. In less than 10 minutes,
40:29I meet car. He lost two, came and blocked the youth. And started spraying bullets off. I think we packed
40:37so many things. We have facts on ground. My name is Tyer Johnson. I was coming from Kogi State,
40:45from Kaba. That is my residence, a place, a family place. So I went and visited them. I will stay
40:53in Angombe. On my way coming, I bought a vehicle from Abuja, from Abuja to Bauchi. When we reached Bauchi
41:04junction there,
41:05we continued. Just a kilometer. Just a kilometer from forward. Then some people came to attack us.
41:16They said, where is the Christian inside the vehicle? I said, those people were looking to fall back.
41:24They looked at me. They looked at me that are Christian. This man, from glass, took a knife in the
41:36hands.
41:37Then, I now rushed. They now pulled me out of the vehicle. Because I sat back on the driver. They
41:45pulled me out.
41:47They were talking to the cars. They were testing, they were testing, cutlers, they were wearing their machets, different things
41:52in the house. They were
41:53watching. They dragged me. Carried stone. Big stone. It hit me. I re-out up. They released it.
42:03They hated me everywhere. They thought that I am dead. And they left me. They left. Small times, I woke
42:12up,
42:12but I see them, they are disappear.
42:15I now started running, started running.
42:18They see that I started running,
42:19they followed me again second time.
42:21They fought, they talked to me,
42:24and I died second time.
42:26They left, so I slept there for more than one hour.
42:31Later on, I now rescue,
42:34I rescue operation police,
42:36other police, and now they came to rescue me,
42:39where I slept.
42:43If you can gather anything,
42:45I know if I say this time,
42:47they will say, I am encouraging violence.
42:49But to protect yourself,
42:51violence is the only way.
42:55I am telling you,
42:57if you can get knives,
42:59if you can get hunters gone,
43:01if you can get anything to protect your land,
43:04protect your land,
43:06don't listen to the government,
43:08that they will come and help you, they will not.
43:10anybody you see that is not from here,
43:14anybody that looks suspicious,
43:15before they get you down, get them down.
43:21Listen to me.
43:25If you keep quiet and wait for the government,
43:29just not be the first time it happened,
43:32not be the second time,
43:33not be the third time,
43:34not be the fourth time,
43:36not be the fifth, not be the sixth.
43:37We don't lose count.
43:39We don't lose count.
43:39Not be today starts.
43:40It don't pass 15 years.
43:42When do they keep people for justice?
43:44Even before it starts to get sense,
43:46they don't keep people for justice.
43:47Yes.
43:48The question we ask the government is,
43:50when does this stop?
43:51If you have no right to breathe,
43:53what right do you have?
43:55No!
43:56No!
43:57No!
43:58No!
43:59No!
43:59No!
43:59No!
44:00No!
44:00No!
44:00No!
44:01No!
44:01No!
44:02No!
44:03I'm not taking vans of Tinuivu
44:04and everybody is worrying about APC,
44:06NOP,
44:07no соответs...
44:08no, no, no, no...
44:09No!
44:11At what point will the people care about life?
44:14Islam says that I should be arrested by DSS.
44:17They say how can this person come here and speak?
44:20Yes, yes!
44:21How can this person be allowed into Nigeria?
44:23Can I tell you the only reason I'm here
44:25is because you guys are being killed.
44:27Yes!
44:27And right now the Nigerian Christians do not have a voice.
44:30Yes!
44:30You are being silenced,
44:32and you are expected to comply with injustice but the lord does not only reserve justice for heaven
44:39justice is not only reserved for when jesus comes back yes justice has called christians
44:45to establish justice on this earth here and now not in five years not in 20 years
44:58and how long will we tolerate this my heart is with you that's why i'm here
45:06yes if there is no killing if there is no injustice i wouldn't be speaking now
45:10it pains me and it's shameful that i even have to speak
45:15and they want me to be silent they want me to not talk about what is happening
45:20i would rather die than be silent yes
45:30it's disgusting and when i was there last night there were roughly 11 or 12 bodies
45:34and by the time we come here today it's almost triple it was 30 people that were killed
45:38and it's pure evil and nobody's coming to defend them nobody's speaking out about how
45:45absolute evil was done by terrorists they only care about if someone's speaking the truth
45:49someone's posting pictures someone's there and it's just i don't i don't know how this can
45:53continue to be tolerated i can't even breathe in that room because of bodies corpses that are just
46:01we just came from where these people were killed we literally had to walk on their ground
46:06they're showing us the sights exactly and um people are telling us what was happening
46:11you said something that was profound the distance from the police station to the places people were killed
46:16you said 20 meters i mean from here to there so how can the attack happen for an hour and
46:2330 minutes
46:24however long they're killing killing shooting shooting killing people machete
46:27but then the police are nowhere to be found
46:28and they're all there today now in their uniforms
46:31yeah they have their tank they're all dressed they're all equipped they're ready to go
46:35after the killing happens i'm sending a message to trump
46:42please at least just give us fractional american army with their drones to come to black
46:54if not though many of us will continue to be losing lives
47:00with alex babel that is here he saw everything that was happening and the world will know
47:09and we just
47:10give us a minute
47:12first
47:13again
47:13e
