00:04so my family we grew up very very sheltered very wholesome very simple but then things really

00:11changed i really don't like change you've told me you can't accept how our values don't align

00:17then i don't see the future with us together you know my older brother my parents we are moving

00:23forward with a divorce no family's perfect we've all just changed one way or another for better or

00:30worse it's the first serious relationship i've had since olivia i most definitely am in love with tegan

00:36he's it he's the one how can you explain falling in love with someone you know what i mean

00:41my name is zach great to meet you i can't wait to just be hopefully engaged by the end of

00:48will you marry me please say no yes my whole family feels uncomfortable nobody is really happy

01:05everybody to like him i think that's why he signed off on the marriage so quickly what was going on

01:14with veronica and micah that was really not good you're not emotionally intelligent grow a pair

01:19you're talking so far down to me veronica sees a headline and she says your brother's girlfriend

01:26has an only fancy he wants to see it i was concerned about the wedding itself and then veronica just

01:32kind of pushed me over the edge nobody really is the full extent of how crazy it was i think

01:40to leave go back to boca and i i we are done ethan couldn't get over the fact that he

01:48thinks zach is

01:49gay talk about lack of any respect for someone's wedding especially your sisters and we need to

01:55have a conversation with with him at some point we just felt very very disrespected

02:17growing up as an only child i always wanted a large family

02:22healthy fresh air lots of music and lots of love and i wanted to share that with people

02:27it was beautiful

02:33the farm was the perfect place for all of those things to come together

02:39and the farm has always been the place we all come back to

02:52which is why after years away i've finally returned

02:58peter is feeling playful i've moved back here with the girls we have two dogs three kittens and we're

03:04finally settled i didn't want to live at the farm during the divorce because it was hard to be so

03:11close to barry knowing that if i had to go run errands i might see him but now the divorce

03:17is done

03:18and i'm back home and i'm reclaiming my life have you ever seen anything cuter than this

03:24yes this he's so cute look at this one he's cuter

03:32i'm here with the girls half the time and the other half the time they're with barry

03:36and somebody else lives here with us too okay who's that

03:45for the first couple years after barry and i separated i just wasn't sure exactly what i wanted

03:57and i couldn't be serious about somebody when i was legally still married to somebody else

04:02so ken and i broke up a few months before lydia's wedding but then when the divorce was finalized

04:09like we realized that we did once to be with each other

04:17when ken moved in we wanted it to feel like it's his home too and so we let him decorate

04:23it however

04:23he wanted and he even brought a jukebox mercy has learned the synthesizer part to jump by van halen

04:34from listening to the jukebox and it's definitely different than when we lived at the farm years ago

04:40we didn't have a jukebox playing 80s classic rock come here lexi i'm definitely happy i'm back

04:48it isn't perfect and i've made lots of mistakes but lucky me i've got lots of people willing to tell

04:55me when i mess something up

05:10feels like just a little laundry to do i think the rest of the house is pretty much in order

05:58this is our apartment it's everything we need we're able to host people play games and hang out

06:06because that's what we've always wanted to do just have people over and have a good time

06:12now what is it like for you going from living in a bachelor pad to with a wife it's nice

06:18come home to a home that has been created by my wife i love having a reason to clean the

06:24home

06:24moving in together was so much easier than people made it out to be i don't think there are any

06:30things that like he does that annoys me he knows not to leave the toilet seat up he knows not

06:37crowd the counter space because that's for me to do i'm truly surprised how well we adjusted to

06:44living together and just building a home together so be honest right what is life like living with

06:52me as your wife amazing of course but after 10 p.m you um are on a different level

07:04is the honeymoon phase over yet nope

07:10zach sees a sign of me that no one else will ever see ever know about

07:14that's that i think i've uh not only introduced her but also

07:20watered the seed of of curiosity for her in this realm and so i think uh

07:27it's fun to see her and and me just like interact in those ways

08:02the best part of married life is definitely learning uh whether it's learning about lydia

08:07or learning about myself take your time and be who she needs and in times of need so

08:20we have two empty chairs i am excited to have start a family and everything with you and

08:28i like feel like i'm ready to be a mother i can agree yeah traveling's really fun with you though

08:37we still have a lot of places we want to go it's not that we're going to stop traveling when

08:42we

08:42have kids it'll just be fewer and far between and more special because there'll be more people to

08:47share with yeah so we got married in february it's been eight months and so we're planning to wait a

08:54year before we start a family four months left four months who's counting apparently you

09:02i love the idea of starting a family with you i'm ready we're just preparing our lives for another

09:09human being we don't want to you and we don't want to me

09:24um i know mariah and micah are only in town for a limited time but we were hoping to have

09:33that

09:33conversation for the whole family and everything it's been eight months of zach and i praying sorting

09:40through everything and what happened leading up to the wedding i feel like you've been mistreated

09:47and lied about and that first year has been hard we just want to have one conversation with the whole

09:54family in one place there are so many assumptions made about both of us it did some damage and we've

10:00had to deal with that for the months that we've been married you're saving your first kiss for your

10:05wedding yeah how do you do that i gotta ask you yeah are you gay

10:14yeah i know i'm i'm straight but we had to iron out those assumptions

10:18and then show each other that we actually cared for each other more than anything that anyone said

10:24about us i gotta learn what how to move forward in that so obviously want to be there to support

10:55i was living up in minnesota and then i moved down here to georgia in july

11:02i just wanted to have a change of scenery and be closer to family and everything

11:07so i've been down here getting the farm in shape building this barn and you know lots of land work

11:13you're cutting down trees mowing staying at the farm or at my dad's house depending on what i'm

11:19doing just seeing what it's like to live back down here are you divorced yet no she olivia will not

11:29call or respond do anything she's purposely trying to hold me up trying to make my life hell

11:38i believe olivia won't let me go um because she doesn't want to let me move on to anybody else

11:48i think that's her motive

11:52what's going on with tegan

11:57oh me and tegan uh broke up and i don't know

12:08i knew that she was tired a long distance and i kept telling her that i would move to wisconsin

12:16and

12:16i never did

12:20and you know you can only tell someone so many times i'm going to do this and you don't

12:24and it just doesn't mean anything

12:29me not being divorced yet still that's been extremely frustrating for me over the last year

12:36and definitely has affected me and tegan

12:41i've had an attorney for over a year now and alivia has ignored him said you know i'm out of

12:50the

12:50country i'll get back to you when i'm home and then weeks later when she comes back she never does

12:55anything so he has to start over get him trying to do nothing ever has happened

13:06sometimes in life you're lucky enough to meet somebody that you actually truly connect with

13:14like not just on a physical level but like a spiritual emotional level and that was very much

13:25true with me and tegan it's hard to move on

13:30i feel like i can't walk away and spend the rest of my life wondering

13:34and if i could have saved it i really truly feel like there's

13:43unfinished business

14:15desires i wanted for the wedding let's go know your daughter before you make accusations like

14:22that hug your brother i'm a little bit concerned about ethan because he can be pretty hot-headed

15:31After I broke up with Veronica, I knew I needed to make a change.

15:34I met a pretty incredible girl, and we are doing great,

15:40and we are happy keeping things somewhat private.

15:46You know, kind of evaluating everything that's happened over the last couple years,

15:51I don't think I was on the path for what I wanted,

15:53and I'm going to switch things up a little bit and just chase a peaceful life.

16:23There were a few factors that led to things just being tense.

16:27Part of it was them rushing the wedding

16:29and us not really knowing Zach well enough.

16:33I didn't want to sit around and just let somebody walk into my family

16:36that wasn't going to treat my sister right,

16:38because I've seen that happen before with my brothers and sisters,

16:42and I've had it, and I wasn't going to have it again.

16:53I was going to do mercy.

17:04Montana has been treating me very well,

17:07very peaceful, very happy.

17:24For a while, the farm just kind of felt like,

17:39Now, having Mom living there, it feels a lot more like home.

17:44It's just a different kind of special, being able to come home now.

18:37And then I have four wigs that I kind of can play around with.

18:53No, I just got, I literally, I went to the emergency room that one night, got the stitches.

19:29It's very hard to shake my focus off of that for anything.

19:33I just feel like there was way too many emotions.

20:14We had some pretty surprising things come our way.

20:18When Ethan asked if I was gay, it was just very, it didn't make sense.

20:22I had proposed and you're asking if I'm even attracted to her.

20:26Like, this is ridiculous.

20:29I wanted to bring it to their attention that, you know, what they did, did hurt us.

20:37And, you know, they could have gone about it quite differently.

20:42When we were engaged, I know there was a lot of people talking about Zach and I and their concerns

20:48about us.

20:49They said they were doing everything because they care.

20:53In that care, all I felt was hurt.

20:55Well, I want you to know, I want you to be happy and I'm very happy to see that you're

20:59happy.

21:00But I just have to say it.

21:01You've only known him for three months and you get married in two months.

21:04You sure you're good with that?

21:05Well, four months, if that matters.

21:11I feel like they're rushing into it.

21:13We all feel pressured into having to accept somebody that we don't know.

21:17How can Lydia really know, like, how much of a provider he could be or if he's going to be

21:21able to take care of Lydia?

21:22Just, I can't take, like, much more.

21:32It's like, hey, this is something you did that affected us.

21:35We want to move forward.

21:36And this is something that we feel is holding us back in our relationship with you because of how it

21:44hurt.

21:52I'm a little bit dreading it because I know that things were crazy at their wedding.

21:59And I feel like they're coming here wanting an apology.

22:04And I have mixed feelings about that because I am sorry that a lot of things happened the way they

22:11did.

22:12At the same time, I'm not sorry that we really cared.

22:21Last night, Lydia called us.

22:23We asked her if she was okay with me and Mercy being in on the conversation.

22:26And she said she didn't really see a need for us to be there.

22:29I think they don't want us to hear what they have to say, obviously.

22:32I guess I am a little bit nervous about Zach and Lydia's expectations.

22:37Anything that was said or done before the wedding was coming from a place of love and concern about Lydia.

22:43We were concerned about her because there are crazy people out there.

22:45And it's sad that you have to question everything, but you really do.

22:49Yeah.

22:50And with that timeline, it's completely normal for us to have questions.

22:56I mean, just, you know, all of us have moved on, moved forward and accepted Zach as a brother-in

23:04-law, a son-in-law, whatever, as part of the family, including Ethan and Isaac and Micah.

23:10But I feel like Zach and Lydia haven't been able to move on.

23:18I've been angry.

23:19I've been really upset at my family for what they did.

23:23There were nights on end that I would fall asleep crying and Zach was just there to come for me

23:27because I was just hurt and I was just upset.

23:30It took us a while to kind of approach this conversation.

23:34We were frustrated.

23:36We were scared of maybe not being accepted or loved.

23:42Dealing with all of that at once took a long time.

23:47I also wanted to be able to talk knowing what I wanted to say and not just getting all emotional

23:53and not having a direction.

23:55It took eight months.

23:58I'm not ashamed of that.

24:02I've really been wrestling with it a lot.

24:06What I would say, how I would say it.

24:11I think some of the things they said just made me realize, like, they don't really know me and that

24:19hurts because you want to be known by your family.

24:25I don't know if it's just me or if most of the family feels this way, if it's just the

24:29middle child.

24:30But I've always felt, like, overlooked, second thought.

24:34And I just felt that on my wedding day and that's just not what it's supposed to be.

24:41I know I need this to move forward and whatever happens from it, I need to be okay with that.

24:48I just know this is the step I need to take.

25:03I mean, definitely with what she had said about you being controlling.

25:08I have no idea how this family meeting is going to go.

25:12I need to address with mom just how she went about a few things.

25:19Like, she pretty much accused Zach of being controlling and taking over desires I wanted for the wedding, yet she

25:26didn't even know what I had thought of.

25:29I've seen a usurping of Lydia's desires, where Lydia wants something for the wedding and he just shoots it down

25:36because he has another plan in mind.

25:38She said I wanted Hunter Green for my wedding, which is a color I would never think of.

25:42Blue has always been both our favorite colors.

25:47And I gave my opinion, but then said after, I was like, you know, I think blue looks best, but

25:54I want you to make the decision because you're the bride and, you know, I think, you know, you have

26:00a better eye for those sorts of things.

26:03And so, if anything, I was completely letting her make the decision.

26:08It was just, yeah, it's like, know your daughter before you make accusations like that.

28:30I began to understand, you know, just how deeply Lydia was feeling the hurt and the pain.

28:40And I know that I did that more so than any of the boys or Kim.

30:03of Lydia and Zach's feelings about all of the wedding drama.

30:44It is weird that, you know, Ken's now at the house that I used to be head of the household

32:38I know it was quick when we got married and I know that did kind of pressure you guys to

32:52But with that, like, some people chose to get to know him and some people just made their

33:01judgments and that was that.

33:04I know you guys care.

33:07It would be amazing if there was a way to show Zach care, especially to Zach.

33:16And some of you have done really well at that.

33:18But if you do approve, if you do see that it's good, it would be nice to see that effort

33:27a little bit.

33:32If there are any concerns that still are lasting now or any questions that you guys have in

33:39general, I'm also open to those conversations.

33:43I don't have a lot of pain from what they did to me.

33:47It's more that they would do it to me and that they're hurting her in the process.

33:52That hurt me more.

33:53I'm trying to lift Lydia up because I know what she's doing is right.

33:58We want to figure it out.

33:59We want to move forward.

34:00And obviously, like, we're open books and we want to figure things out if there's anything

34:06that you guys don't see fit.

36:18I should have been there for you even more than I was.

36:29I can only imagine how difficult that was for Lydia and Zach, Zach especially.

36:38You two seem fit for each other, but when you're, you know, I meet you two hours before

36:45you propose to my sister, there's a lot of stuff that goes on.

36:51I mean, you know, people do act different under pressure and that's mainly what I was feeling

36:57was a lot of pressure with it being rushed and then seeing, you know, past relationships.

37:01People have come into the family really fast and just turned out bad and that's the only

37:06thing that was stuck in my head.

37:08And looking back, I see that I, certain times I acted, you know, like an idiot.

37:16Um, I'm going to apologize to both of you for certain things that I've done.

37:19It may have been good intentions or thought it was good, but it just went about a completely

37:24wrong way.

37:25That's all I see from my end, so.

37:27Appreciate it.

37:29You know, you both were saying if we still have things or whatever, I don't have, I don't

37:35think any of us do.

37:36For me, from the time that you two said I do, it was done.

37:39And I'm a hundred percent supportive of both of you.

37:43And I see you as a son, son-in-law, part of the family.

37:51So far, I'm seeing more healing with Micah and Isaac than there is with Kim.
