00:11DAP's RSN Reyer said he was dismayed by the Klan crash that killed 33-year-old Amiral Hafiz Omar last
00:18Sunday and supported the stern action taken against the driver.
00:22The driver, RSakti Ganapati, 28, was charged with murder and pleaded guilty to a separate charge of self-administering drugs.
00:31However, Reyer said the AG must also ensure stern action is taken against the driver of a Toyota Hilux who
00:38killed three family members in Batu Gajah Pera in February.
00:42The Jurutung MP pointed out that the driver involved tested positive for cannabis, according to the police,
00:50but investigations were held under Section 41, Subsection 1 of the Road Transport Act 1987 for causing death by reckless
00:58or dangerous driving.
01:00Reyer added that ensuring consistency in filing charges was part and parcel of upholding the rule of law, particularly the
01:08constitutional principle of equality before the law.
