The story of the "Miracle of the Catch" is a often remembered story of the Gospels that many have found great comfort and inspiration for their spiritual lives. The fishermen knew well that at that time of day, it would be nigh impossible to attract any fish to the surface of the water, yet through the movement of the Holy Spirit in his heart, Simon Peter is able to say "YES" to the command of the Messiah despite all rational logic. That is a true testament to the power of FAITH!
@TheChosenSeries does such a wonderful job helping to give a different way of entering into the Scriptures that many have found helpful and transformative for their prayer lives, taking what was a few verses in Scripture and adding (plausible) narrative flair in order to present these stories in way that is relatable and memorable.
This "special" is a compilation of The Chosen Season 1, episodes 1-4, highlighting the storyline of Simon (later Peter) that takes it's inspiration from Luke 5:1-11. May it bring you faith and joy to you today, I pray.

00:18:07I'm sorry for this dishonor, Peter.
00:18:08Say your last prayer, Chew.
00:18:10Stay there a moment, Captain.
00:18:12Are you saying I made a bad deal?
00:18:16Yes.
00:18:23Where did he come from?
00:18:27Here, Capernaum, Dominus.
00:18:31My brother's across the world.
00:18:32Search for brave men to spare and recruit,
00:18:36but our power prohibits those very efforts
00:18:38for what sane person would stand up to the Roman Empire.
00:18:43I am sane.
00:18:45Yes, but a very different kind of sane.
00:18:49I'm sorry, I don't understand.
00:18:51So, you say this Simon isn't at the level
00:18:55of the merchant class at sea,
00:18:56but he claims they all spend time
00:19:00at the same establishments.
00:19:02Is that false?
00:19:03I'm afraid I'm not aware of their social interactions.
00:19:06But even if that were true,
00:19:08it would be highly unusual for Jewish men
00:19:09to betray one another.
00:19:10So says the Jew who collects taxes from them.
00:19:14Mine is a different circumstance.
00:19:15Don't spare me.
00:19:16Don't spare me.
00:19:16I admire it.
00:19:18Well, it won't surprise you to learn
00:19:19that to date, Simon has not fulfilled
00:19:22his obligation to uncover the tax evaders.
00:19:24He's in breach of contract.
00:19:26Not yet.
00:19:27But time may prove you out.
00:19:29Uh, what are you called?
00:19:34Matthew, Dominus.
00:19:38I may yet have need of your keen powers of observation, Matthew.
00:19:45A special assignment.
00:19:48I would relish the opportunity, Dominus.
00:19:51Of course you would.
00:19:54I'll be in touch, Matthew of Capernaum.
00:19:58Thank you, Dominus.
00:20:10All right.
00:20:11Around for the table.
00:20:13You know, you all need this to have a good time.
00:20:16What is this about?
00:20:17Well, I can't celebrate my brothers and sisters.
00:20:21So, so, make sure Amos gets a side,
00:20:22though.
00:20:23He can't handle the good stuff.
00:20:25Tobiah, Jason, you'll need this to drown your sorrows
00:20:27after you lose this game.
00:20:28Simon, you, I don't know your name.
00:20:32You're new, but wow, huh?
00:20:34We're not afraid you'll steal our fish.
00:20:35We're afraid you'll steal our women.
00:20:36Look at this man.
00:20:37Like Absalom, no?
00:20:39Hopefully he bears better than Absalom.
00:20:41Stay away from low-hanging branches, my boy.
00:20:44Stay away from Steve's staircases, old man.
00:20:46That's it, Saul?
00:20:47None for Jason.
00:20:48Oh, what did he do this time?
00:20:49Ask her wife.
00:20:53Drinking alone again, Simon?
00:20:55Well, you merchants need twice the help at sea.
00:20:57I need twice the help on land.
00:20:58Oh, what's your bet?
00:21:01What's your bet?
00:21:02John, I see the hammer changed its rules on allowing children.
00:21:06Go get caught in the net.
00:21:07But you're here with a responsible adult.
00:21:09Saul, make sure James and John get some, too.
00:21:12Please, please, after you, please.
00:21:17What is that?
00:21:19Whatever do you mean, brother?
00:21:21Your face.
00:21:23You happy?
00:21:24No, I'm handsome.
00:21:25I just happen to be wearing a happy face.
00:21:31I need drinks for the merchants.
00:21:34You fattening your lambs before the slaughter?
00:21:38No.
00:21:39I don't want you to be miserable.
00:21:41You are, so I should be too, no?
00:21:42I want you to be serious.
00:21:44This is not a game.
00:21:46Nothing wrong with enjoying a little financial freedom.
00:21:49A temporary reprieve from doom.
00:21:52That double knockout was a shame.
00:21:54Thanks, Khuri.
00:21:55Get your footwork down, and next time you see it.
00:21:57Yeah, yeah, I'll practice.
00:21:58Thank you, Khuri.
00:22:04Temporary reprieve.
00:22:09Believe it or not, I don't like it either.
00:22:12But these men, they're not family.
00:22:16You and Eden are my responsibility, not them.
00:22:19You two keep me up at night, not them.
00:22:23And you want to be a rich.
00:22:26Yeah, well, I thought I'd try the sentimental route.
00:22:29Maybe it's not my best look.
00:22:46Andrew, Andrew, will you help me, please?
00:22:49I'll be with what?
00:22:51Barely see anything.
00:22:53Of course, it's the darkest night in weeks.
00:22:58Okay, we saw Khuri Chaim and Baruch all come in,
00:23:01offloading and cleaning their holds.
00:23:04Of course.
00:23:05Tomorrow is Shabbat.
00:23:07Well, there's still a fleet out there.
00:23:10They're sailing late because they're not
00:23:12cleaning out the holds tonight.
00:23:14They're definitely sailing tomorrow.
00:23:17I'm guessing it's Amos.
00:23:20This is all a waste of time, if it is.
00:23:23What do you mean?
00:23:25What I mean is Gideon and Tobiah sail with Amos.
00:23:28Well, I'm not saying it's Amos for sure or not.
00:23:31Whoever it is, they're definitely sailing tomorrow.
00:23:35We got him.
00:23:38We got him?
00:23:40Those are our brothers.
00:23:42Tobiah looks to you before his own father.
00:23:45So what?
00:23:47Well, it's my fault that a dumb kid doesn't know better?
00:23:55I keep waiting for you to tell me
00:23:57this is all part of a plan to double-cross the Romans.
00:24:00Andrew, there's a crew out there.
00:24:03That crew is stealing food out of Eden's mouth.
00:24:05They're going to take our boat.
00:24:07Maybe our lives.
00:24:08Maybe.
00:24:09But we made our choices, too.
00:24:12You think this was a choice?
00:24:41Good morning, Bev.
00:24:42It's not morning.
00:24:45Good for seeing you, then.
00:24:52The bread is wonderful.
00:24:54I know.
00:24:56How's fishing?
00:24:58It's fine.
00:24:59Really?
00:25:00You're surprised?
00:25:01Why would I be surprised?
00:25:03I don't know.
00:25:05Tell me.
00:25:06You haven't taken a catch to market for days.
00:25:08And yet you have flour, vegetables.
00:25:11Did you sleep in a warm bed last night?
00:25:13In fits.
00:25:14Why are you baiting me?
00:25:15I don't understand what's happening.
00:25:17Nothing is happening.
00:25:18You don't sell to market.
00:25:19Your hours are upside down.
00:25:21And your face is frozen in worry.
00:25:23Don't tell me nothing is happening.
00:25:26We're in a challenging season right now.
00:25:29I just need to work hard to get through it.
00:25:31And I'll get caught up tonight.
00:25:33And I'll be right on the way.
00:25:34What do you mean?
00:25:35I'm not happy about this, either.
00:25:37I need to work tonight so that...
00:25:38You need to work on Shabbat.
00:25:39It's a special circumstance.
00:25:41I can't get into it right now.
00:25:43Andrew will be here for dinner as normal.
00:25:45And I'll just be gone for a few hours.
00:25:47Oh.
00:25:48Well, would you like me to fix your Shabbat plate to take with you?
00:25:50Listen, love.
00:25:51I know this is not my deal.
00:25:52Don't love me.
00:25:53I'm not a child.
00:25:57I just need you to trust me on this.
00:26:00Please?
00:26:04I've...
00:26:05I've got this, Eden.
00:26:09You answer to God.
00:26:10Not me.
00:26:12But next time, you answer to the both of us.
00:26:15Because whatever this is,
00:26:18I don't have the strength for twice.
00:26:46I don't have the strength for once.

00:33:37i'm sorry
00:34:02i'm sorry
00:34:06i'm sorry
00:34:08the people. You're such a miserable lot. You worship one God, and yet you're all divided.
00:34:16You see, people complain, we Romans run the world, but I know a dirty secret. You people
00:34:30want to be ruled. You want an excuse to complain. It's part of your nature. Do you understand
00:34:37that, Matthew? I don't know. No, you wouldn't. You're a single-minded machine. These things
00:34:48are beneath you. Where's your escort? He didn't want to enter. He feels that my lack of social
00:34:55grace is... He thinks you'll get him killed. Yes. Not today, Matthew, no. Today I am in
00:35:06need. You heard me right. I am in need of your machine. My machine? Your mind, Matthew. Keep
00:35:17up. You might have been right about Simon. He double-crossed me. Maybe. Probably. Truth
00:35:25as I don't have many sea-worthy troops here, it might have been an accident. Dominus? Follow
00:35:34Simon. I want to know where he goes, with whom he meets. Tell me what they're talking about,
00:35:39what he's drinking. Anything. The latter may prove difficult. In fact, all of what you request,
00:35:46Dominus may prove difficult. But you're a resourceful man. Goal-oriented. I am not accepted.
00:35:58Where? Anywhere. I am a tax collector. Viewed with jealousy. Hated. Everyone hates tax collectors.
00:36:06They're worse than the Romans. You were born Roman. I made the choice. So go in disguise. I don't care.
00:36:19You can write, can't you? Yes. Write everything. Every detail. Is your booth protected? Yes, Dominus.
00:36:27My dog guards it while I'm away. Oh, Matthew. You are a priceless treasure. Of course
00:36:38you have a dog. What's this? Ah, there he is. Josephat, Avam. Simon. What happened to your
00:36:57your career? There's a cut on it. What's going on? Simon. We are brothers here. Yes, if
00:37:05you ever find yourself in need of anything... Look, if this is about what's going on in the
00:37:09docks, I don't know what you've heard. It's just a misunderstanding, alright? It's business.
00:37:13What's wrong at the docks? I lost the lure. What's up? Ima is sick. Ima? What happened?
00:37:26Simon. She's coughing in fits. She has no strength to do anything. And yet she does not
00:37:33sleep. She's spitting up blood. I don't understand. We just saw her last...
00:37:37Month. Simon. It's been a month since you visited Ima. I... You know how it's been work
00:37:47and... I know. I haven't been a good... Wait, why are they here? No, no, no, no, no, no, no.
00:38:03Look, I love your Ima like she was my own. She loves you? But we can't take... Abraham and his
00:38:08family are all in my home already. This is really bad timing. When is a good time to fall in,
00:38:13Sarah? Guys, the answer is no.
00:38:18You knew it. You knew it. You always told me. What kind of man are you? Son of Jonah. You
00:38:21always told me. You have no honor, son of Jonah. You're so good at touching your head.
00:38:24You're circumcatching me. Yeah, where's the honor?
00:38:26Josephet!
00:38:31Josephet. Ibrahim. If Simon says it's a bad time, he has good reason it's a bad time.
00:38:38Thank you, Eden. A bad time for you, not for me. Ani. No. If I can't be there for my
00:38:45own Ima when she's sick, what am I? I'm nothing. I'm not a daughter. I'm not a sister.
00:38:51You'll always be. Nothing.
00:38:54Avram, Jeho, please. Go be with your Ima or go outside and meet some privacy.
00:39:00Eden.
00:39:01I'm not talking to your sister. I'm talking to my wife in my own home.
00:39:06And if you're not out of this room in three seconds, I will beat you both with my bare hands.
00:39:19Oh, I can't do this anymore.
00:39:24Please, please listen to me.
00:39:28I haven't been honest with you.
00:39:31There's no woman. It's not gambling.
00:39:35Look, a few days ago, I looked you in the eyes and I told you, I've got this.
00:39:43I lied.
00:39:45What do you mean?
00:39:47I've been fishing on Shabbat because I've had no choice.
00:39:50Andrea has tex-tets. I've got tex-tets. We haven't been able to keep up.
00:39:54I did some things I'm not proud of to fix it and now it's gone bad.
00:40:00We're in trouble.
00:40:01We? What do you mean?
00:40:03I, I'm in trouble. But we, because I need a miracle or I can be in big trouble.
00:40:08I'm not a child. Stop speaking of riddles. Tell me what's happening.
00:40:11I could go to prison. We could lose the house.
00:40:14What?
00:40:14The cut in my ear, it's from a Roman.
00:40:16Simon!
00:40:17If I don't catch a ton of fish or get some help somehow, they'll arrest me.
00:40:20Or kill you. They are Romans.
00:40:23Yeah, so I need to go now.
00:40:24Go where?
00:40:25The fish, I gotta spend the rest of the week doing nothing but catch every fish I can and hope
00:40:29I can fix this somehow.
00:40:30So that's why we can't take your email. It's just not possible.
00:40:33No, she has nothing to do with this. I will not let you punish her for your sins.
00:40:37Eden, you can do this alone.
00:40:40You can't tell me what I can or can't do.
00:40:44You have had your eyes closed around here and God is with me, even if you aren't.
00:40:52I'm sorry.
00:40:57Where is your faith?
00:40:59Hm?
00:41:01What?
00:41:02You heard me.
00:41:04Eden, faith isn't gonna get me more fish.
00:41:08I'm not talking about tonight. I am talking about long before tonight.
00:41:14You've been different.
00:41:17Before it was gambling and now it's working and trying to do everything yourself.
00:41:23It's a popular Simon. Fixing everything and charming everyone all by yourself.
00:41:30And fishing on holy days without even thinking about it with no respect for our God.
00:41:35What about B'koch Nefesh? We can break a commandment to save a life. Our lives are at stake here.
00:41:42You don't know that because you have not pursued the Lord lately. Not like the man that I married.
00:41:53That is why you are stuck and you feel desperate and now you're off to try to fix it yourself
00:41:58again.
00:42:06So go.
00:42:09I don't want you here tonight anyway.
00:42:12I'm sorry.
00:42:13I know you're sorry.
00:42:17I know.
00:42:20And I'm glad you're at least honest with me.
00:42:27But no more talking.
00:42:30Maybe God can get your attention now.
00:42:38Simon!
00:42:44Simon!
00:42:46He's happened.
00:42:47He's happened, Simon!
00:42:48What are you talking about?
00:42:51Did you run all the way from Jerusalem?
00:42:54We're saved.
00:42:59I saw him with my own eyes, Simon.
00:43:04Who?
00:43:05It was incredible.
00:43:07And, Drew, what did you see?
00:43:09The Lamb of God.
00:43:12He who takes away the sin of the world.
00:43:16Simon, we're standing by the Jordan,
00:43:20and John the Baptist pointed at the man who was walking.
00:43:27Simon, are you listening?
00:43:29Yeah, you're just not saying anything.
00:43:33I saw the Messiah today.
00:43:35The man all of us, including you, have been playing for our whole lives.
00:43:40Don't you even care?
00:43:43Was he a big man?
00:43:44Big? No.
00:43:47Rich?
00:43:48No.
00:43:49So it didn't seem he could bet us out of this death to Rome?
00:43:51Maybe, maybe it was a doctor.
00:43:54Oh.
00:43:55So he can't help with Eden's email, who's now living with us, Andrew.
00:43:59That's right.
00:43:59So pardon me if I'm not exactly jumping out of my sandals
00:44:02because Creepy John pointed at someone.
00:44:12You're scared.
00:44:19I've lost everything.
00:44:21Burnt every bridge.
00:44:23It doesn't matter.
00:44:25The Romans don't matter if the Messiah has arrived.
00:44:29Anything is possible now.
00:44:32Don't you see?
00:44:37That'd be nice.
00:44:41Where are you calling?
00:44:44Go ahead, Eden.
00:44:45Our brothers are trying to cook.
00:44:46I can smell it.
00:44:47No.
00:45:15I'm not just a guest.
00:45:32so you're following me now huh it's a matter of accountability and you're here to make sure
00:45:37Quintus knows where to go when it's time to hurt me you settle your debt I keep track of things
00:45:43I do it well Quintus knows I do it well you're a little off aren't you you should turn yourself
00:45:52in
00:45:53we can accompany you still pursuing every option there are none you must provide the information
00:46:00implicating the guilty fishermen or balance the books somehow who says anything's possible not
00:46:06mathematically yeah but what if you know you'll only be subjecting your family and friends to
00:46:11needless anguish by prolonging the inevitable these are other big words but no one listens to me not
00:46:18like they do you you have a singular talent that's something at least can I assume you are not headed
00:46:29to the authorities going fishing variables people are always adding variables does it change anything
00:46:38to know you only have until Sun up Sun up but Shabbat's not for three days Quintus is convinced you've
00:46:45double-crossed him he's coming I'm still going fishing then yourself in you have no feasible plan I told you
00:47:01my plan if I'm going down it will be doing what God bid me to do tell your boss he
00:47:09can come get me off the water
00:47:59what many Trump is going on in me to do it and will leave your back there and will see
00:48:01me
00:48:01I don't know.
00:48:50I don't know.
00:49:02I don't know.
00:49:32I don't know.
00:49:38I don't know.
00:49:39I don't know.
00:49:42I don't know.
00:49:43Cast after cast.
00:49:46I will make your descendants as many as the stars in the heavens.
00:49:53And then what?
00:49:55Huh?
00:49:59Make the chosen as many as the stars.
00:50:03Only to let Egypt enslave us for generations.
00:50:13Bring us out of Egypt.
00:50:15Part the Red Sea.
00:50:18Only to let us wander in the desert for 40 years.
00:50:24Give us the land.
00:50:25Only to let us be exiled in Babylon.
00:50:28Bring us back.
00:50:28Only to be crushed by Rome.
00:50:33This is the god I've served so faithfully my entire life.
00:50:40You're the god I'm supposed to thank.
00:50:42You know, if I didn't know any better, I'd say you enjoy yanking us around like goats and
00:50:49can't decide whether we're chosen or not.
00:50:58Which one is it?
00:51:00Ah!
00:51:00Simon!
00:51:02Andrew?
00:51:08Who are you talking to?
00:51:10Apparently no one.
00:51:12You shouldn't joke like that, my friend.
00:51:14Yeah, your friends might think you've lost faith.
00:51:16James and John, I presume.
00:51:19And who brought the old man?
00:51:20I heard you need a real fisherman.
00:51:24How'd you know I was here?
00:51:26Eden may be angry, but she's not too proud to ask for help.
00:51:30Ah, so you told her the whole story, huh?
00:51:34Yeesh. How'd she take it?
00:51:37Let's just say it's my last night as a free man and I'm fishing.
00:51:42Your last night?
00:51:43Quintus.
00:51:49Well, there are only so many hours in the night, huh?
00:51:55Let's fish.
00:52:00Let's go.
00:52:40If you catch nothing, in the morning, maybe you could hide in the merchant caravans.
00:52:46Escape to Egypt.
00:52:48Fish the Nile.
00:52:50You've got perched the size of children.
00:52:52Egypt is a Roman province now.
00:52:54Nah, Eden hates Egypt.
00:52:56So?
00:52:57She can wait for you to send money.
00:53:05I'm hoping if I let Quintus and his boys take out their frustrations on me,
00:53:10he'll eventually allow me visitors.
00:53:13Let down.
00:53:28So, about the news I was to tell you about.
00:53:31I was working with John, they called the baptizer.
00:53:33Andrew.
00:53:34What's the yon about?
00:53:35And he pointed at him.
00:53:36No more.
00:53:36And he said, behold, the lamb.
00:53:38Andrew.
00:53:38I said.
00:53:41Just.
00:53:42Please.
00:53:44No, no, no.
00:53:44The word from you about this lamb of yours.
00:53:47We don't need a lamb.
00:53:48We need fish.
00:54:17Maybe John was right.
00:54:20If you have a chance, sneak into a merchant caravan and get away.
00:54:26I won't leave the land of our father.
00:54:29And they'll find me, I'm sure.
00:54:32If the baptizer could make me a disguise out of an old camel's hide.
00:54:36Let's pull up.
00:54:44James!
00:54:46James!
00:54:47Help.
00:55:16Zeb!
00:55:20Come around.
00:55:23Sometimes the sea bests all of us.
00:55:27It's not your night.
00:55:35All right.
00:55:37Time to be done.
00:56:00Boys!
00:56:08Roman scum couldn't even wait.
00:56:24We're right with you.
00:56:30Make sure Eden is safe.
00:56:32You hear me, Andrew?
00:56:33Hey!
00:56:34Those aren't soldiers.
00:56:39I might still have time to see Eden.
00:56:42We're going to clean our nets.
00:56:44Stick around to make sure you can leave.
00:56:46People.
00:57:14We're going toみ.
00:57:23Simon, it's him.
00:57:25Excuse me.
00:57:27That's him, Simon, that's him.
00:57:29No time for this, Andrew.
00:57:30It's him, Simon, it's the man.
00:57:33John said he's here, right now.
00:57:35May I ask a favor?
00:57:37I'm teaching these people and apparently they're having trouble hearing me.
00:57:40If I could stand on your boat, that would be helpful.
00:57:43They're having trouble hearing you, huh?
00:57:45Yes, yes, of course.
00:57:47Please, please, stand on my boat.
00:57:51I need to go, I'm sorry.
00:57:53No time for this today.
00:57:55Stay a few moments longer.
00:58:00I have something for you.
00:58:02For me?
00:58:05I'm in a hurry?
00:58:05Yes, I know.
00:58:11Just allow me a few moments.
00:58:13Please.
00:58:15Simon, trust me as I have trusted you.
00:58:21This man is the Messiah.
00:58:26It's good to see you again, Andrew.
00:58:29Yes.
00:58:36I'm Jesus.
00:58:38Thanks for this.
00:58:39Simon.
00:58:43In my last moments with you, I want to share another story.
00:58:47Can everyone hear me?
00:58:49Yes.
00:58:50Well, let's thank our friends for this strong boat, huh?
00:58:56Trust me, my yelling voice is not easy on the ears.
00:59:01Because I'm on this boat, my final parable should be about fishing, yes?
00:59:07Simon, please send me that net.
00:59:10Simon, please send me that net.
00:59:18When this net is thrown into the sea, what happens, Simon?
00:59:24I mean, most of the time.
00:59:29It gathers.
00:59:31A little louder.
00:59:32It gathers fish.
00:59:35Yes.
00:59:36This net gathers fish.
00:59:39All kinds of fish.
00:59:40Yes?
00:59:41Yes.
00:59:42All kinds of fish.
00:59:46And the kingdom of heaven is like what happens next.
00:59:50After the net is full, Simon and the others draw it to the shore, sit down, and sort out the
00:59:57fish.
00:59:58The good fish go into the barrels, and the bad fish are thrown away.
01:00:05So it will be at the end of the age.
01:00:09Angels will come and separate the evil from the righteous.
01:00:14And throw them into a fiery furnace.
01:00:18Do you understand?
01:00:22Therefore, every scribe who has been trained for the kingdom of heaven, like you all are now,
01:00:28is like the master of a house who brings forth his treasures, both new and old.
01:00:35You are to do the same with this knowledge.
01:00:46These parables I tell make sense to some, not to others.
01:00:52Be patient.
01:00:55That is all for today.
01:00:57I have some business to attend to with my new friend.
01:01:26Put that down for a catch.
01:01:29a little bit farther out
01:01:33I don't have a quarrel with you
01:01:34teacher
01:01:36but we've been doing this all night
01:01:38nothing
01:01:49all right
01:01:51at your word
01:02:07oh

01:02:15Grab it!
01:02:15Take!
01:02:17Take that side!
01:02:19No!
01:02:21Ah!
01:02:24Head!
01:02:26Head!
01:02:28Come on!
01:02:30Head!
01:02:32Head!
01:02:33Let's go!
01:02:39Come on!
01:02:40Let's go!
01:02:44Ah!
01:02:45And push!
01:02:46And push!
01:02:47To this way!
01:02:49Pull up!
01:02:50Pull up!
01:02:52Push it!
01:02:53Let's go!
01:02:56On!
01:02:57Push it!
01:02:58Help!
01:02:58That's it!
01:02:59Yeah!
01:03:00This is the best way!
01:03:15Hold on!
01:03:20That's breaking!
01:03:22Hold on!
01:03:30Go on! This way!
01:03:46Simon!
01:03:48I told you!
01:03:50I told you!
01:03:52I told you!
01:04:00What?
01:04:01Oh!
01:04:03Oh!
01:04:05Oh!
01:04:06You're killing!
01:04:07Oh!
01:04:12The boat is guilty!
01:04:14Come out!
01:04:14Come out!
01:04:28My brother and the baptizer.
01:04:32You are the Lamb of God, yes?
01:04:35I am.
01:04:37Depart from me.
01:04:39I am a sinful man.
01:04:42You don't know who I am and the things I've done.
01:04:44Don't be afraid, Simon.
01:04:48I'm sorry.
01:04:51We've waited for you for so long, we believe.
01:04:53But by faith, I'm sorry.
01:04:57Lift up your head, fisherman.
01:05:07What do you want from me?
01:05:09Anything you ask, I will do.
01:05:17Follow me.
01:05:19Follow me.
01:05:28I will.
01:05:36Rabbi.
01:05:42You as well.
01:05:45Yes, you, James and John.
01:05:47Come.
01:05:47Follow me.
01:05:52I'll take the fish into market and settle up Simon's death.
01:05:55I'll get some help to fill both of these boats.
01:05:58Are you sure?
01:06:00Yes, go.
01:06:01What will you tell Ima?
01:06:03We've just been called by the man we've prayed for our entire lives.
01:06:07And you ask me, what will I say when you miss supper?
01:06:11Go.
01:06:12Now.
01:06:19So, you sure you don't want to do this just a few more times?
01:06:23Well, we'll make a great team on a boat.
01:06:25It's not a joke.
01:06:26Okay.
01:06:29Fish are nothing.
01:06:31You have much bigger things ahead of you, Simon, son of Jonah.
01:06:35Did you understand that parable I told earlier?
01:06:39From now on, I will make you fishers of men.
01:06:43And you are to gather as many as possible.
01:06:46All kinds.
01:06:46I will sort them out later.
01:07:04Hello.
01:07:06This catch is worth a lot.
01:07:10It's amazing.
01:07:13It's impossible.
01:07:16It's impossible.
01:07:21It's impossible.
01:07:23It's impossible.
01:07:39It's impossible.
01:07:45It's impossible.
01:07:48We need to talk.
01:07:52So I hear.
01:07:54What have you heard?
01:07:58Nothing that makes sense.
01:08:08Last night you told me the truth.
01:08:11Let's continue with that.
01:08:25So I worked for hours last night and I couldn't even catch one fish the entire night.
01:08:32And then Andrew and the boys showed up.
01:08:34Thank you for that, by the way.
01:08:36and none of us could catch one fish the entire night.
01:08:39It was horrible.
01:08:40And this morning we finally gave up and we went to shore,
01:08:43but there was this teacher on shore.
01:08:46And Andrew knew who he was, but I'll talk about that later.
01:08:49He told me to cast one more time,
01:08:51which made no sense, but I did it anyway
01:08:54because of the way he looked at me.
01:08:57And then so many fish showed up.
01:09:01They were pouring into the boat.
01:09:02So many kept coming that Zebedee ended up filling both of our boats,
01:09:05enough to pay off the whole debt.
01:09:10I...
01:09:11Eh...
01:09:13What?
01:09:14I know.
01:09:17Why don't you seem happy?
01:09:19Well, this is hard to explain.
01:09:22More than what you just told me.
01:09:24You know, it's like the story of Elijah and Elisha.
01:09:29Yes?
01:09:30Elisha was plowing with twelve yoke of oxen
01:09:32when Elijah the prophet just walked up and threw his cloak over him.
01:09:36I called him to follow him.
01:09:38And without delay, Elisha slaughtered the oxen,
01:09:41burned the plow, and left everything behind?
01:09:43Yes.
01:09:46The teacher...
01:09:47Andrew told me, but I didn't believe him at first.
01:09:51He's in the sign.
01:09:53I know it sounds impossible,
01:09:55but I saw it with my own eyes.
01:09:57He made boatfuls of fish appear out of nowhere.
01:09:59And the words he spoke,
01:10:00the one John told Andrew was the Lamb of God
01:10:02who takes away the sin of the world.
01:10:04It was him.
01:10:05And then he called me to follow him.
01:10:07And Andrew, James, and John,
01:10:09to go where he goes and to learn from him.
01:10:11And he said that I wouldn't be a fisherman anymore,
01:10:13but that I would catch people instead.
01:10:15I don't even know what that means,
01:10:17but I'm sure what I saw.
01:10:19He's the one we've been waiting for all our lives,
01:10:21and I want to quit fishing
01:10:24and leave the sea behind to go.
01:10:26I know, I know, I know it makes no sense,
01:10:28and I knew it would make you upset.
01:10:29All I can tell you is that this is...
01:10:31I'm not upset.
01:10:35Oh, why would I be upset?
01:10:39Come here.
01:10:41Come here.
01:10:43Come here.
01:10:48This is the man that I met at you.
01:10:54Can you believe me?
01:10:57You couldn't make this up.
01:11:05Of course he chose you.
01:11:09I don't know why he didn't.
01:11:11I tried to tell him I'm a sinful man.
01:11:13Everyone is sinful.
01:11:16I don't know what this means.
01:11:19I don't know yet how I'm going to provide.
01:11:22I don't care about that.
01:11:24Then why are you crying?
01:11:25Because someone finally sees in you
01:11:27what I have always seen.
01:11:32You're more than a fisherman.
01:11:36You know, I...
01:11:37I will travel sometimes.
01:11:41I don't want you to feel abandoned.
01:11:42You have to go with him.
01:11:45How could I feel abandoned?
01:11:47I feel saved.
01:11:50Eden...
01:11:50Eden, it's not going to be easy.
01:11:54When have we ever had anything easy?
01:11:59It's not our people's way.
01:12:07So, are you going to help me?
01:12:10Actually, I could watch you do that all day.
01:12:14Wash your feet.
01:12:21We leave for Kana today.
01:12:23What's in Kana?
01:12:24A wedding.
01:12:25What does a wedding have to do
01:12:26with the liberation of Israel?
01:12:28I'm about to find out.
01:12:29Come on.
01:12:31Don't you think our wedding
01:12:32was a kind of liberation?
01:12:35From your fear that I would be bald.
01:12:37Oh, my father is nearly blind.
01:12:42Remember how cold it was?
01:12:44No.
01:12:46Remember Andrew's toast?
01:12:52Remember the rabbi lost his place?
01:12:57No.
01:12:58What?
01:12:59He made everyone stand up
01:13:01and please be seated.
01:13:02Twice in a row, you don't remember?
01:13:05What I will remember
01:13:06for the rest of my life.
01:13:09is lifting your veil.
01:13:11I'd fight tigers for that memory.
01:13:15You'd fight tigers?
01:13:18Well, unless it was as cold
01:13:20as our wedding day
01:13:20right before the sun came up
01:13:22and you got tangled in our chuppah.
01:13:24I thought you do remember.
01:13:26A pet.
