00:00Claire Obscure Expedition 33 was one game you definitely couldn't avoid last year.
00:04Sandfall Interactive's debut JRPG amassed a huge fanbase and swept the award shows,
00:09so no pressure for the developers next game, right? Well, even if some pressure is unavoidable,
00:13the devs say they're still going to be guided by what we think is cool,
00:16rather than focusing on fan expectations going forward.
00:19Speaking in an interview with Edge Magazine, Sandfall Interactive Chief Operating Officer
00:23and Production Director Francois Mouris explained that while I feel there is a bit of pressure
00:28from fans and critics when it comes to the team's next game, it's not so important to us.
00:32He continues,
00:33We all have time to get really focused into the next game. We have some great ideas
00:36we're so excited to explore, and we don't start from the same point. The team already
00:40has five more years of experience, so maybe we can do some great stuff.
00:44Lead writer Jennifer Svedberg-Yen adds that creatively,
00:47we've always let our North Star beat our own personal taste in terms of what we think is cool,
00:51what it is we enjoy and want to see. I've seen too many TV shows and books
00:55be swayed trying to please a lot of people, and in the process, you end up losing the heart of
01:00what's there. So, we feel like we need to trust our instincts and continue to trust the vision
01:05behind the studio.
01:05I'll see you next time.
