00:00You'd think that most game developers would be rooting for their own work to win a Game
00:03of the Year award, but apparently that's not the case for Tom Guillemont. The Chief
00:07Technical Officer of Claire Obscure Expedition 33 says,
00:10I was crossing fingers that we wouldn't get Game of the Year, because there are so many
00:13super creative games and weird games. That's right, he was actually hoping his own RPG
00:18wouldn't win the prestigious Game of the Year, because he wants to help celebrate the creative
00:22work of other devs. He says, it's great that there is room for all of that to exist with
00:26of course, the big blockbusters that also have a role to play in the industry in moving
00:30technology forward. For me, it's a sign of health in the industry that we can express
00:34our creativity and try something a bit unexpected, and have people react positively to that.
00:39Of course, Claire Obscure Expedition 33 did naturally take home the award, on top of winning Best
00:44Audio, Best Debut, Best Narrative and Best Visual Art. Shortly afterwards, it would secure the
00:49BAFTA award for Best Game, making it just the second title ever to secure all five major
00:54Game of the Year awards. Is Claire Obscure your favourite game of last year?
