00:04Hi. You might believe that sitting behind a screen whilst you search for or post extreme
00:10right-wing content protects you. However, this is not the case. Our digital footprint
00:17remains mostly online, regardless of what software we download or use. Every time you
00:23search, post or share extreme right-wing material, you are putting yourself at risk. This can
00:29lead to and cause criminalisation and legal consequences, decline in physical and mental
00:37well-being, the breakdown of personal relationships, safety concerns for yourself and your loved
00:44ones, damage to your future employment prospects. Looking at extremist information online is a
00:52serious problem. It's true that not everyone who sees extremist content becomes violent,
00:58but this kind of material can damage you. The way you look at society, people and even
01:04yourself. For some, having radical beliefs can move to planning or supporting violent acts
01:11and you never know how what you share may impact someone else. Today, people who get involved
01:17in extremism often end up cutting themselves off from their real friends and even their
01:22families getting lost in a world full of hate. While many join looking for belonging and purpose,
01:29the reality is very different. Having been there ourselves, we understand how people get involved
01:35and what it is like to have doubts. If you need to talk, get in touch. Email us at info
01:42at exithate.org. We offer no judgment, just support.
