00:00Steven, what went into the decision
00:01to pursue a dedicated general manager for this team?
00:04And then what was it about Brian Coleman that
00:06stood out to you guys?
00:07Yeah, I mean, if you look at the landscape of college basketball,
00:12and it's just a really important piece to, one, getting prepared,
00:19getting organized, and being ready to attack the portal
00:24in a way that can put you in a position to have an advantage.
00:30Brian is one of the, there's not a lot of general managers
00:33right now in college basketball, but in the handful that there are,
00:37he's obviously shown the ability to do it at a very high level.
00:41They got to Louisville when that thing was, let's just
00:45call it what it was, it was not in a great place.
00:47And for them to completely revamp and flip that roster
00:51and go to back-to-back NCAA tournaments and be in the top three
00:55to five in the ACC every year since they've been there is substantial.
01:00You know, he's been, you know, with Coach Kelsey all the way from Winthrop to Charleston out of Louisville.
01:06And, you know, for a coach to continue to advance and rise, he obviously has to have a great staff.
01:11And, you know, BK is one of the guys that was, you know, really instrumental in their success.
01:17So I've known him for a really long time, known him since our Tennessee days and, you know,
01:24since we got into coaching, have just stayed friends and have really bounced ideas off each other.
01:29And he's somebody that I've always turned to for advice on certain things in the portal, innovative, creative ideas.
01:35You know, he's a guy that's always bringing you something.
01:38He's going to really approve the efficiency of the things that we do on our staff and from a recruiting
01:42standpoint.
01:44And, you know, just in the couple days that he's already been here has just provided tremendous value in what
01:49we're trying to do.
01:50So he's a huge value add for our staff and, you know, really happy that, you know, he's here on
01:56the Plains.
