00:00What we thought was a challenge last week that, especially in game one,
00:04turned out to feel like it was, whether it was or not, played out that way.
00:09We at least were saying at that moment, like, hey, looking ahead,
00:13we'll be the only team that will be set on a regular rotation
00:17going back into this Thursday, Friday, Saturday.
00:19So I said it before Marciano threw the first pitch, I'll have his back,
00:25because that's the guy on five days rest that gave me the ball,
00:27I'll walk straight toward it.
00:28So I appreciate him for that.
00:31And, man, I hope he's rewarded tomorrow.
00:32I'd love to see him have a great start against a great offense.
00:35And part of this head down is part of our training continues, our growth.
00:41Like last night, just, again, tough lessons if this don't happen
00:45or you don't do that or you can't be prepared to do that, which is all my fault.
00:50It's not the player's fault.
00:51It's all my fault.
00:55And I just tell them that it's all my fault.
00:58But you promised me one thing, that you're continuing to learn and finding a way to grow.
01:04And I'm saying that to my assistant coaches last night.
01:06I'm saying it to the players in their face, like, hey, man, don't waste this.
01:10I'll wear it.
01:11I'll keep wearing it.
01:12I'll wear it forever.
01:13But you absolutely got to promise me the tradeoff to that is you've got to continue to figure out how
01:21to learn and grow.
01:23And it does feel like these last five weeks we've played a Super Regional.
01:26And this will be the best training we could ever get in trying to build some confidence
01:34and find that growth and find that training to, you know, prepare you as much as any team.
01:41I want them to feel that after this weekend.
01:43But I'd love for Marciano to have his full rest.
01:46And he did that for the team last week.
01:48I'd love for him to be rewarded.
01:50But he's going to have to come out and compete.
01:51Nobody's throwing that ball for him.
01:53Nobody's hitting this ball for our guys.
01:56Because you're asking a tall order.
01:58But, again, you're gaining confidence if you can walk through this door.
02:04We were able to keep A&M at five runs or less for three consecutive games.
02:09Nobody had done that to that point.
02:11Mississippi State beat the hell out of us.
02:14When we thought we were caught a little bit short there, you can't make excuses.
02:18The best thing you can do is come back out and give up four runs and two runs
02:21and give yourself a chance to come back and win a series.
02:24So, we've got to just absolutely reset like these young people have the capability to do.
02:31The coach kind of wears it longer and more than they do to their benefit.
02:35And they need to be ready for a real opportunity.
02:38And they need to be as fired up as they can and as engaged as they can
02:43because there's a lot of lessons.
02:44If you can be competitive against this lineup and we continue to play good defense
02:51and if we can absolutely just keep trying to, like, if we have a good offensive night
02:56or a slow offensive night, just keep coming back and being interested
03:00and put your head and barrel back connected and try to return energy
03:03where it's coming from and keep competing, we'll, you know, you'll earn what you earn.
03:09You'll get what you get.
03:11But, nonetheless, can we keep learning and growing?
03:14And I think that's my main message going into this weekend.
