00:00and a team that certainly is playing much better basketball this season and unusually climbing in
00:06the east which is the atlanta hawks uh slight favorites tonight against the boston celtics so
00:11i know you'll have a close eye on this uh atlanta in the past adam are playing 50 50 basketball
00:17right they're winning they're losing they're winning they're losing and then they're the
00:20ninth seed or the eight or the seven or the ten right uh better year for atlanta this year so
00:25maybe a little bit more formidable but you know i'm not just so sure how much they have in the
00:30tank
00:31but this could be a playoff preview adam you never know well i guess start with the fact that the
00:37hawks
00:37deserve credit for recognizing that as good an individual player as trey young is you just
00:43weren't gonna win anything with him and so to get out from under that player that contract that
00:48presence in the room and on the floor this is a team that's unequivocally better a better performer
00:55without trey young we'll see how that obviously bears itself out in washington for young maybe it's
01:00the type of thing that he just needed a change of scenery or maybe it follows him but whatever the
01:04case leaning back down now into some of atlanta's other contributors and role players and just more
01:10balance has worked out really well for this hawks team and to your point this is a team that has
01:16won
01:16now 14 of 15 games now that one loss came back on friday in boston against these same celtics who
01:23they're going to face tonight they dropped that game by seven celtics of course winning in charlotte
01:28last night and i suspect they're going to be healthier tonight than they were last night they
01:33were down two starters jaylen brown did not play derrick white was a last minute scratch and so i
01:39assume the injury reports are not out for either of these teams yet but i am assuming both are going
01:45to return to the lineup now jason tatum continues to look better by the day he went nuclear last night
01:50at his first 30 plus point game since the return from the injury and these both of these teams
01:57are just playing exceptionally good basketball again 14 of 15 for the hawks the celtics come in having
02:04one seven of eight and pressure is on both quite frankly because while the celtics are unlikely to
02:10catch detroit with the amount of time left in the regular season for the top seed in the east going
02:14into
02:14the playoffs they are trying to hold off new york and make sure that they land in the second seed
02:20whereas the hawks they just want to avoid the play-in tournament craig you know they're only a
02:25half game up on that seven to ten picture that you really don't want to be part of at the
02:30same time only
02:31a half game back of the fifth spot you want the break you want to be one of the top
02:36six teams you
02:36want to guarantee yourself a playoff spot and not have to earn it over the course of a game or
02:41two in
02:42that play-in that happens before the official first round begins once we do pencil in the one
02:46through eight so i expect there to be a really good game tonight but there's no mystery to me
02:51boston is the better team
