00:06Welcome to MojoPlays, and today we're taking a look at the 10 best Nintendo 3D platformers
00:12of all time. Before we begin, we publish new videos all week long, so be sure to subscribe
00:18to MojoPlays and ring the bell to be notified about our latest videos. Super Mario 3D World.
00:24So many great gems got passed by the public because of the Wii U's poor commercial performance.
00:30Super Mario 3D World was one of those gems, and it was one of the few that got a second
00:35win thanks to being ported on Nintendo Switch. You and up to three friends can jump through
00:41dozens of fun levels, each with its own assortment of gimmicks, but what brought everyone together
00:46was the balance between competitive and cooperative play. Sure, you could work together to get through
00:52the level, but those with the highest score got to wear their very own golden crown. For
00:58bragging rights, of course. And to this day, this is a multiplayer Mario game we find ourselves
01:03coming back to every once in a while.
01:14Wario World.
01:20While many major GameCube titles get talked about on a near constant basis, Wario World
01:26is a cult classic that does not get as much attention as it should. When an evil jewel awakens
01:32and destroys his castle, Wario must recover his lost treasure using brute force and a little
01:39bit of puzzle platforming skills. Wario World is nothing but a good time as you have various
01:45attacks to beat down foes. Be it punching, headbutting, body checking, swinging, or pile
01:51driving, you can bully just about every enemy in the most humiliating ways. It's so satisfying
01:57that you'll want to spend the extra time searching for every treasure.
02:07Captain Toad Treasure Tracker.
02:15One of the coolest parts in Super Mario 3D World were the sections where you could guide
02:19Captain Toad across different dioramas to collect green stars. Well, the mode was so beloved
02:25that Nintendo developed an entire game around it. Captain Toad Treasure Tracker has you guiding
02:32Toad in search of diamonds while avoiding all kinds of dangerous foes like Shy Guys.
02:37Each level is cleverly designed with all kinds of different mechanics that make it tough to
02:42put down. Before long, you're likely going to start trying to collect every diamond before
02:48moving on to the next level. Trust us, it gets that enthralling.
02:59Super Mario Odyssey.
03:11Some may have a problem with how bloated the game is, but Super Mario Odyssey is still one
03:16of the greatest 3D platformers Nintendo has ever made. Sure, the possession ability with
03:22Cappy still flashbangs us to this day, but there is something truly magical about this
03:28title. The music, the environments, the puzzles, the many power moons to find, the purple coins
03:35that are scattered across every world, it all makes you want to venture forth and explore
03:40every nook and cranny you can find. This is why so many people were constantly raving about
03:45Odyssey back in 2017, and once you've experienced Pauline's concert, it's hard to ever feel down
03:52about this game. Kirby and the Forgotten Land.
04:02Much of Kirby's career has been spent on the 2D plane for so long that it was hard to imagine
04:07he'd ever get his own 3D game. Well, Kirby and the Forgotten Land might be the best way
04:12to transition into the third dimension. Not only could you wield a wealth of different copy
04:18abilities, you could even upgrade them to create more devastating versions.
04:22As for the music, it's all so joyous and catchy that you'll likely develop an earworm for a
04:28few tunes. And yes, the boss fights are just as challenging as the 2D games, if not more.
04:43Chibi Robo, plug into adventure.
04:51In all honesty, this is the strangest game on our list here. Chibi Robo puts you in the role of
04:57a miniature
04:57robot whose sole purpose is to keep the house tidy. However, there's more to your humble abode than just
05:04a quirky family to help take care of. At night, various toys and objects come to life with stories
05:10of their own. Find different ways to make them happy, and you might find yourself with some new tools and
05:16abilities to mess with. As well as the title of possibly being the best Chibi Robo in the world.
05:22Just make sure you keep that battery charged if you want to avoid a sorrowful demise.
05:31Donkey Kong Bonanza
05:41Those concerned about Bloat might want to steer clear of Donkey Kong Bonanza. This is a game meant entirely for
05:48the
05:48players that love exploration. This game gives you almost complete freedom in how you want to explore
05:55its many worlds. Uh, layers, I mean. You can climb almost any structure you see, and punch through almost
06:02every piece of terrain. Not only that, but you can use transformations to reach other areas faster,
06:08or destroy parts of the lair faster. You can even use some of the terrain to build bridges, or dissolve
06:14other
06:15parts of the world. It's a whole 3D platformer, affected by your own beefy hands.
06:24Super Mario Galaxy
06:32Super Mario Galaxy will forever remain the most legendary title to ever grace the Wii, and deservedly so.
06:39Many will point to the beautiful orchestral soundtrack that sells the majesty of outer space exploration.
06:46Others will point to the fun worlds inhabited by creatures like bees and robots. And then,
06:52there are those who will never forget the story of how Rosalina and the Lumas found themselves wandering
06:58through the galaxy. There is so much love poured into this title that it's hard to find any reason to
07:05complain about
07:05even a minor inconvenience. Banjo Kazooie
07:13Though it wasn't made by Nintendo, they did publish it way back in 1998, and we'd be remiss to leave
07:20out
07:20one of the greatest 3D platformers ever seen on the Nintendo 64. Banjo Kazooie had everything you could
07:27want in a video game. Fun collectibles to find, levels that felt big but not vast and empty, a plethora
07:33of fun
07:34abilities to make navigation easier, a captivating soundtrack, and so much more. Rare hasn't been forgotten all these years
07:42because of the bear and the bird and the witch. And if you haven't played this yet, what have you
07:46been doing this whole time?
07:53And lastly, Super Mario 64
08:02Obviously, we were going to end on this. Obviously, you cannot talk about the best 3D platformers or the best
08:09Nintendo 64 games or the best Nintendo games or even the best video games ever without Super Mario 64.
08:16This was such a historic title for the industry, and how it showed the possibilities of 3D gaming. And it
08:23did it with flying colors.
08:25Because of the responsive controls, the brilliant level design, and the balanced pacing, Super Mario 64 has become timeless.
08:34It does not matter how long it's been since 1996, it continues to age like fine wine.
