00:13Keep in mind that we are only considering Mario games that have been released between 2020 and 2025.

00:39Super Mario 3D World plus Bowser's Fury.
00:52For some, this was a much needed port for a Wii U game that many considered to be one of
00:57the best of that platform.
00:58Personally, I don't see the appeal besides the 4 player co-op, but I will give this package credit for
01:05the Bowser's Fury half.
01:07With this sort of companion game, players could roam around a small world to collect cat shines while toying with
01:13some of the mechanics of 3D World.
01:15But the coolest aspect of Bowser's Fury were the periodical attacks from the Koopa King himself.
01:22The barrage of fire kept things exciting and added a level of challenge to navigating between cat shines.
01:38Mario Golf Super Rush.
01:51After being dormant for a rather lengthy period of time, it was a nice surprise to see Mario Golf make
01:56its return in with some new ideas.
01:59As expected, some courses implemented some power-ups and mechanics to Mario-ify the grand sport of golf.
02:07However, the shiny new Speed Golf mode required you to not only make it to the hole in the fewest
02:13number of shots, but also make it before anybody else does.
02:17This ramped up the often slow-paced nature of golf, making this installment much more appealing to those who were
02:23easily tired from the sport.
02:25That, plus the fun adventure mode and a litany of different characters, kept us coming back to the courses for
02:31quite some time.
02:38Mario Party Superstars.
02:46For years, folks have been clamoring for certain Mario Party games to get remade.
02:50And of course, you can't please everybody by just choosing one game over the other.
02:56And so, Mario Party Superstars aimed to show everybody some love by remaking portions of the first three games as
03:04one big package.
03:05Whether you loved the original Mario Party, Mario Party 2, or Mario Party 3, Mario Party Superstars boasted the best
03:14boards and minigames from each entry with the quality of life improvements brought on by the more recent entries.
03:20This was such a remarkable celebration of the series history that it will satisfy any hardcore fan of the older
03:27games.
03:36Paper Mario The Thousand Year Door.
03:48We can understand why Paper Mario purists may not be totally happy with this remake of the GameCube Classic.
03:54Really, why was this not able to run at 60 frames per second?
03:59Regardless of how you feel about it, the Thousand Year Door retains so much of what we loved about the
04:04original game.
04:05From the combat to the story and characters, this remake manages to preserve every aspect of the original with newer,
04:13crispy visuals in environments, textures, and even the text boxes.
04:18Any self-respecting Mario fan owes it to themselves to play this gem.
04:22Mario vs. Donkey Kong
04:35Speaking of remakes, Mario vs. Donkey Kong was one that felt like it was kind of overlooked in 2024.
04:42This was a much-needed return for the classic puzzle platformer that once fleshed out the libraries of the Game
04:48Boy Advance, DS, and 3DS.
04:51Just like in the GBA original, Mario must retrieve many Mario toys stolen by Donkey Kong.
04:56Although, this rendition comes with some extra modes to keep you playing.
05:00First off, you can test your speed in completing these levels once you unlock the Time Attack mode.
05:06But the coolest feature of all was the implementation of two-player co-op, where Player 2 can control Toad
05:12and help Mario retrieve important items throughout the stage.
05:16If you're somebody who misses the GBA in DS days, this was such a wonderful nostalgia trip.

05:24Mamma Mia!
05:25Time's up!
05:26Oh-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho-ho!
05:29Super Mario RPG
05:42Okay, we promise this is the last Mario remake you're gonna see on this list, but we'd be remiss to
05:47not include Super Mario RPG.
05:50After decades of begging for something as simple as a port, developer ArtPiazza delivered this wonderful remake that forever preserves
05:58the original in its best form.
06:00Fully built from the ground up, Super Mario RPG on Switch boasted brand new visuals, fully animated cutscenes, a few
06:08new combat mechanics, and even a good wealth of endgame content that satisfied hardcore fans and new players.
06:15No matter if this was your first, second, or tenth time playing it, Super Mario RPG once again became one
06:22of the best Mario games ever made.
06:33Super Mario Party Jamboree
06:41In the grand scheme of things when you look at replayability, balance, minigames, and catering to certain audiences, Jamboree might
06:49objectively be the best Mario Party game ever made.
06:52There is so much to do in this game that it can seem overwhelming at first, and none of it
06:58comes close to only being just okay.
07:01The boards, the minigames, the rhythm based modes, the motion controller games, the Bowser Kaboom squad mode, which I think
07:08a lot of people are sleeping on.
07:10Everything you see in this game is a ton of fun to play regardless of how many times you play
07:16it.
07:16And the balance is so spot on that even lesser skilled players have a chance to bounce back and steal
07:22the entire game.
07:23With all of this, it's impossible for anyone to have a bad time playing Jamboree.
07:30Mario Plus Rabbids Sparks of Hope
07:41The first Mario Plus Rabbids was remarkable in how it made the bizarre concept of giving Mario a gun an
07:48actually fun and fitting idea for the Mushroom Kingdom.
07:51Trust us, we never thought we'd ever say something like,
07:54A Mario Tactics game with the Rabbids is one of the best games we've ever played.
07:59Sparks of Hope somehow made it even better though.
08:02Characters were given more freedom and movement to take full control of battles,
08:06and boasted more distinct weaponry and powers from each other.
08:10Not only that, but exploration was fleshed out more with clever puzzles and challenges hidden in various corners.
08:16A welcome evolution compared to the predecessor's simple red coin challenges and blue coin cannons.
08:22And do we even need to mention the memorable expansions that came post-launch?
08:27Mario Kart World
08:40If there is one thing Mario Kart World truly excels in, it's ambition and execution.
08:46Creating an open world Mario Kart game where tracks are connected to each other is a huge undertaking,
08:51and requires a solid understanding of good level design.
08:55And developer Nintendo EPD did it.
08:59No matter where you are in the world, you always have an idea of where you're at thanks to the
09:04unique landmarks.
09:05But what about the racing itself?
09:07Well, Grand Prix is always fun, but man, that knockout tour is some of the most fun multiplayer we've had
09:13in a long, long time.
09:16There's something really entertaining in seeing who amongst your friends is going to qualify for the next portion of the
09:22race.
09:23All we can say is...
09:25Money well spent.
09:27And lastly, Super Mario Bros. Wonder.
09:40Super Mario Bros. Wonder
09:41Of all the Mario games to have come out in the 2020s so far, Super Mario Bros. Wonder is truly
09:47the best of the best.
09:49It's classic 2D platforming as you've never seen it before, and it's all thanks to one collectible.
09:56The Wonder Seed.
09:57These collectibles transform levels in ways we've never seen them before, and every one of them is just as cool
10:05as the last.
10:06Singing piranha plants.
10:07Riding bull stampedes.
10:09Chasing sentient flagpoles.
10:11This game gets so insanely wacky and clever with its mechanics that you're always wanting to see what the next
10:18level has in store.
10:20And honestly, it's kind of impossible for us to imagine that any other Mario game coming out is going to
10:26top this before 2030.
