00:41Now, the idea of putting a kart racer on a list of hardest games might seem a bit odd and
00:46wacky
00:46for some.
00:47However, Looney Tunes Space Race bucks that trend since its difficulty can actually be
00:52out of this world.
00:53Gear up and choose your favorite Looney Tunes character while barreling your way through
00:57a bounty of whimsical sci-fi-esque levels, where taking on your opponents with some acme gag
01:02pickups is the name of the game.
01:04Oh, and well, obviously, of course, getting first place if you can.
01:07But with some unpredictable AI, brutal rubber banding, some items just being overpowered,
01:13and some tough track layouts, it's quite clear that this spacefaring kart racer is ready
01:18to test your mettle.
01:26Duck Dodgers starring Daffy Duck
01:34This underrated 3D platforming gem from the Nintendo 64 is both enjoyable and challenging
01:40in equal measure.
01:41If Duck Dodgers hopes to stop Marvin the Martian's devious machinations to destroy the earth,
01:47then he must platform his way around some colorfully wacky planet in order to save the day.
01:52Now, this is a pretty standard 3D platformer with loads of collectibles and fun levels,
01:57but it doesn't always go easy on you.
01:59Duck Dodgers' movements can often feel slippery and floaty, leading to some tough platforming
02:04sections.
02:05Finding all of the atoms is another difficulty spike, since some of them are placed in hard-to-reach
02:10areas, or even require backtracking.
02:12And the game's bosses can be a doozy at times, especially with the often wonky camera.
02:17Despite the game's difficulty though, it absolutely exudes Looney Tunes' charm and style, especially
02:23with Duck Dodgers' goofy one-liners.
02:30You can depend on me.
02:32Bugs Bunny and Taz Time Busters
02:43We thought about putting Lost in Time on this list in lieu of Time Busters, but for our money,
02:49this tag team duo's adventure is just a tad bit more challenging all around.
02:53Bugs and Taz really do have their work cut out for them as they venture through time and
02:58space itself.
02:59Yosemite Sam is up to his nefarious antics, across time periods, such as Medieval times,
03:04Stone Age times, and even the Wild West.
03:07Bugs and Taz each have their own unique movements and abilities, which can take some getting
03:11used to here, especially as you navigate the tricky stage layouts and solve some confounding
03:15puzzles along the way.
03:17The levels themselves just feel too big at times, which can lead to some confusion about
03:21what to do next, or heck, even where to go.
03:24Add in some issues with the camera and a load of tough platforming areas, and you have a
03:28recipe for a fun, but hard game all around.
03:39The Fight for Fame
03:48This Power Stone-esque cartoon arena brawler is ready to pummel you time and time again,
03:53if you aren't prepared.
03:54We rarely hear anybody talking about this fun 2002 OG Xbox romp.
04:00Now, it may not be as polished as some other games on this list, which can certainly lead
04:04to some tough battles against your fellow Looney Tunes pals.
04:07But it's still quite eclectic and enjoyable, as you try to stop Rocky and Muggsy from trying
04:12to ruin a film studio.
04:14The game's challenge mostly comes from brutal AI, repetitive and demanding objectives,
04:18and often cumbersome and unrewarding progression, and some technical issues where you end up feeling
04:23like you were actually fighting the game instead of the characters themselves.
04:27If you can quickly familiarize yourself with the various gizmos, gadgets, and arena props,
04:32then you may just edge out your opponents.
04:34Gotta say though, we love the whole movie set idea here, which keeps each arena unique
04:39and charming.
04:48Roadrunner's Death Valley Rally.
05:01Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote are up to their usual cartoony antics, with Mr. Coyote trying
05:06to pummel or flatten Roadrunner through various traps, hazards, and acme goods.
05:11But like the beloved cartoons, Roadrunner seems to always have the upper hand, or upper talent,
05:16I guess?
05:17Well, this game is just uber tricky to contend with all around, both because of Roadrunner's
05:21sheer speed, more so after some birdseed, and because of the many, many traps and hazards
05:26that seem to just pop up out of nowhere with little time to actually react.
05:31Plus, my goodness, each level is like a maze, with so many random routes to take as you try
05:37to hopefully avoid Wile E's creations.
05:39Plan your route, move quickly, grab those flags and birdseed, and you may just come out
05:44as the victor at the end of the game's unique stages.
05:54The Bugs Bunny Crazy Castle.
06:04I remember picking up the Game Boy version of this game as a kid, so excited to play as
06:09one of my absolute favorite Looney Tunes characters, only to be greeted by failure after failure
06:15in this tough-as-nails puzzle platformer.
06:18Navigating single-screen castle rooms, grabbing oodles of carrots, and avoiding baddies doesn't
06:22seem too hard, right?
06:24Well, on paper, no, but in practice, heck yes.
06:28Trial and error is the name of the game here, since Bugs' success often only comes through
06:33timing everything just right in one of the game's many, many castle screen layouts.
06:37Everything just feels relentless in this game, made even tougher by a lack of movement space
06:42for Bugs, and no way to actually permanently vanquish enemies in a room.
06:46Good luck Bugs, you'll most certainly need it here.
06:57Looney Tunes Sheep Raider.
07:07Also known as Sheep, Dog, and Wolf in some other regions, this puzzle-focused game is
07:11ready to break your brain at times.
07:13Part stealth game, part adventure game, part platformer of sorts, and part puzzle game,
07:18your role as Ralph Wolf is one filled with tension and challenge.
07:22The ultimate goal here, of course, apart from just trying to grab all the sheep, is to avoid
07:26the tricky Acme-branded traps and hazards laying about, while avoiding the gaze of Sam Sheepdog.
07:32Learning to circumvent these obstacles with stealth and precision is no easy feat here.
07:37Most stages require multi-level planning in order to make it through, hopefully unscathed,
07:41and grab a sheep or two.
07:43There are so many different steps to solve the game's many puzzles that can be greeted by
07:47extra frustration when you realize you have to start completely over upon each failure.
07:52When your meticulous planning and cunning stealth goes off without a hitch in this game, it feels
07:57sublime.
07:58However, it's gonna take loads and loads of practice and memorization to actually get there.
08:10The Bugs Bunny Birthday Blowout
08:20Bugs Bunny just wants to make it to his birthday celebration for some fun times.
08:24However, no one is going to make that easy for him, for some odd reason I guess.
08:29This cartoony platformer isn't for the faint of heart.
08:31However, every single level in this game is overflowing with challenges for Bugs to contend
08:36with.
08:36From constantly moving platforms, projectiles, hordes of baddies, all in tandem with limited
08:42lives and continues, yay!
08:44Some of this game's stages make Cuphead's platforming gauntlet levels sorta feel easy
08:48by comparison, which is saying something.
08:50You might think Bugs' mallet attacks will constantly serve you well in this game, but
08:55its low attack reach constantly hinders you when you're under pressure.
08:58Oh, and those boss battles against Bugs' so-called friends?
09:02Well, let's just say they require some super-powered skills to actually overcome.
09:15TASMANIA!
09:24Now, I personally had tons of difficulty beating TAS in Escape from Mars for the Sega Genesis back
09:29in the day as a kid, but it's actually 1992's TASMANIA that is actually the tougher game
09:35overall.
09:36So, let's get the obvious right out of the way here.
09:38Most of this game's difficulty actually comes from controlling TAS himself.
09:42His blazingly fast speed as he whirs up his TAS spin tornado thing is a real doozy to contend
09:49with.
09:50Pairing this speed and frenetic energy with semi-open levels means getting lost, and getting
09:54lost quickly, is something that happens frequently in this game.
09:58There tends to just be a lot of aimless wandering in this game, which can really hamper the fun
10:02at times.
10:03Now, don't get us wrong, once you do get used to TAS's moves, the game can feel great
10:07to play, but it's like the game actively wants to punish you around every single corner.
10:19Desert Demolition starring Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote.
10:30Yep, that's right, Roadrunner and Wile E. Coyote are back at it again, surprise, surprise.
10:35I love how much this game just feels and plays exactly like an episode of the Wacky Cartoons.
10:41Now what makes this game so awesome is that you can actually play through it both as Wile
10:46E. Coyote and Roadrunner, each run offering differing gameplay experiences.
10:50But make no mistake about it, this is easily one of the very toughest Looney Tunes games
10:55around.
10:56Playing as Wile E. means you have to carefully navigate all of the devious traps, laid out
11:00by Wile E. of course, something that is no easy feat given his floaty jumps, slippery
11:05movements, and incredible speed even without the rocket skates.
11:09Then playing as Roadrunner brings enormous speed that even Sonic the Hedgehog would be
11:13jealous of.
11:14Blasting through each level with nary a break in sight requires pinpoint precision in tandem
11:19with also being able to stop on a dime should the need arise.
11:23No matter which character you are playing as, don't forget to scoop up those Acme stamps,
11:27energy, and time clocks.
