00:02R.P.B. Rancho Palos Verde.
00:07Yep.
00:08It's a beach town. It's beautiful.
00:10It's a really good opportunity that these few units we have in Rancho Palos Verde's
00:15is going to be full of treasures, Dan.
00:17You never know.
00:18You never know.
00:18If they don't produce here, then they can just follow us to Garden Grove.
00:24That's right.
00:25Yep.
00:25We have two auctions today, and I'm excited for a little DP.
00:30Double profit, baby.
00:31That's how it works.
00:32The buyers flow where the merchandise goes.
00:35That's a good one.
00:37Twice the auctions, twice the fun.
00:40Twice the commission.
00:42That's right.
00:48When storage units are abandoned, the treasures within are put up for auction.
00:57I think I scored on this.
00:58Throw it your ass!
00:59Four hundred times.
01:01Oh!
01:01Ha!
01:01Ha!
01:02Ha!
01:02Ha!
01:04Ha!
01:04occurring with one who's done one.
01:33Ha!
01:33Ha!
01:33Ha!
01:34I hope one of these lockers knows what I'm talking about
01:37so I can make me some De Niro.
01:39Show me the birdie, boy.
01:43Oh, I gave myself a rush.
01:49Here we go.
01:50I got my carry with me today.
01:52Yay!
01:53I got carry with me today.
01:56Yay!
01:57Is that a thrift store?
01:58Liza, should we stop?
01:59Liza, if I can go to the road.
02:00Oh.
02:01I think we can all agree that focusing
02:03isn't necessarily my strong suit.
02:06Well, you said it, I didn't.
02:07But that's why I love it when you can come with me
02:11because you're my squirrel tamer.
02:13The squirrel that's in my head.
02:14Hurting squirrels in Liza's head.
02:16Yes, I'm here to keep you focused, efficient, on task.
02:21Carrie, what would I do without you?
02:22I am really glad Carrie's here
02:24to help me stay laser focused today
02:26because actually you have a little something on your collar.
02:29Let me get that for you.
02:30Liza, sit.
02:31We'll do it later.
02:32Don't worry about it.
02:33Okay.
02:33I mean, it's kind of obvious.
02:35Okay.
02:36Here we go.
02:39Crack the whip.
02:41Oh, is that an animal shelter?
02:43I didn't know they had an animal shelter out here.
02:45It'll be there later, Liza.
02:49I got all things going for me today.
02:51I got my road dogs with me.
02:52I got my cash in my pocket.
02:54And I'm heading to Palace Verde.
02:56This facility is known for having big rooms.
02:59I'm going to buy a big room in a beautiful area
03:02and make a big, beautiful profit.
03:04It's as simple as that.
03:06The competition's a little bit stiff.
03:08They're going to try to give me a run for my money.
03:10But that doesn't intimidate me.
03:12I've just got to let them know the Yup Man is here.
03:15There's only one goat in this business.
03:17Bye.
03:20This seems to be a higher income neighborhood.
03:23Why?
03:23Because it's called Palaburbis?
03:25Palace Verde.
03:26They even have a golf course around here.
03:28A golf course?
03:29Palace in it.
03:30Oh, man.
03:30It's a good sign.
03:32It's not really spelled like palace, but still.
03:34Yeah.
03:35It's Spanish.
03:36What does Verde's mean?
03:38Green.
03:38Verde's mean green.
03:39I know about the Verde's.
03:41I know dress leches.
03:43Dress leches.
03:44Three different milks, huh?
03:46That's cake.
03:46Yes.
03:47I've got that one memorized.
03:49My chacas con huevos.
03:50What?
03:51Yeah.
03:52What?
03:53What?
03:53Oh, not caca con huevos?
03:55Caca what?
03:56Caca.
03:57Caca.
03:57Caca, that's bread s***.
03:58Yeah.
03:59Always comes back to caca.
04:00It always comes back to caca.
04:02Everything comes back to caca.
04:03We can all agree that no one wants a caca laca today.
04:07Nobody wants no caca laca.
04:09Always the poet.
04:11I am proud to announce that I just got myself a bougie new client in the beautiful city of
04:16Rancho Palos Verde's, and they just happen to have an auction this morning.
04:19So I'm going to head out there, enjoy the ocean breeze, and hopefully get something nice.
04:25I'm always looking for fancy upscale items, and Rancho Palos Verde's is just the place
04:30to find them.
04:31Wish me luck.
04:33Welcome to the auction.
04:34We're down in Lower Dotson.
04:35Before you go through these doors, you need to know the rules.
04:37You're going to go to the unit, remove the lock, open the door, give you five minutes to
04:40take a look around.
04:41You can't go inside the unit.
04:42You can't open any boxes.
04:43And who's never got the most money in their pocket can own it today.
04:45Are you ready?
04:47Let's go, let's go, let's go, this way, folks.
04:55I mean, they're cheating.
04:56They're going to hell with this.
05:06This is a 10 by 12.
05:08It's got to be an odd shade.
05:11Okay.
05:17Let me get my light in here, light it up.
05:21We got a little of this, a little of that, a fan's came back chair.
05:25Lots of boxes, fragile, something blue.
05:28I like it, super clean.
05:30I might have to go for this one.
05:32This is actually probably the best unit here today.
05:34Yeah?
05:34Yeah, yeah, just letting you know.
05:36All right, let me get it.
05:36We're in the basement, subterranean auction.
05:39I'm coming, man.
05:40Extravaganza, the cornucopia.
05:42I feel it.
05:43I got about 17 of them wheelchair things, boxes, neatly packed.
05:48This must be a miniature pool table or something.
05:50Yeah, it's pretty cool.
05:51It's nightly packed, so they cared about this stuff.
05:55I might be in on this one.
05:56Hey, what's black and spammish?
05:58Negro.
05:59Hmm.
06:00Well, I pray that the man named Negro don't want it,
06:02because I see a lot of birdie in that unit.
06:05What you looking for today?
06:07My sanity.
06:08Okay.
06:10That's, you know what?
06:12Start small.
06:13One thing at a time.
06:14Baby steps.
06:15Baby steps.
06:16Well, there's a lot of stuff in here.
06:18It's like a lot of household items.
06:20I could probably find something worth buying in here.
06:22It's probably going to go for a lot.
06:23We'll see.
06:24I'll try it.
06:25We've got some furniture with some age on it.
06:27It looks like maybe a whole house.
06:30So it could be like a lifetime of belongings.
06:33We have like neatly boxed.
06:35I like that.
06:37Clothes.
06:37As they say, pride of ownership.
06:39I'm not too excited.
06:40Or do.
06:42I'm not sure which approach is better.
06:45Very young man.
06:46It's hot as hell.
06:48We ain't by the devil.
06:51No, not you the devil.
06:53I said we by the devil.
06:54Yes, that's what he said, though.
06:55No, I didn't.
06:56Yes, he did.
06:56I heard you.
06:57I heard you.
06:58He meant it.
07:00I heard it.
07:01Great.
07:02Not a devil.
07:03I mean, Dave.
07:04He ain't going to let me have this unit.
07:06Nice, man.
07:0610 by 12 unit full of boxes, and it's a mystery unit.
07:09Here we go.
07:10How much money?
07:10What's your pleasure?
07:10What are you going to pay?
07:11And how much, how much, how much money?
07:13They're going to be 100, 100, 200, 1, 2, 2.
07:15There.
07:15What about three?
07:16I got three, three, four, four, five, five.
07:18What about 500?
07:19And 600 and seven.
07:20What about six, seven, seven, eight?
07:21What about nine?
07:22What about 10, 11, 11, 12, 12, 12, 13, 14, 15, 16, 17, 17, 18, 18, 18, 19.
07:28What about three?
07:29What about two thousand?
07:29What about 21?
07:30Two, now three.
07:31What about 23 and 24?
07:322, 526?
07:332, 526?
07:352, 600?
07:35Yeah.
07:35Go on once.
07:36What about 26?
07:37Yeah.
07:37Oh, lord.
07:39Here we go.
07:39F**k.
07:40Yep.
07:41You knew it was coming.
07:41What about 27?
07:42What about 27?
07:4328?
07:43What about 28?
07:44What about 28?

07:49What about 32?
07:49What about 32?
07:51What about 32?
07:51What about 32?
07:51Back at 3,200.
07:52And 33?
08:00I love stealing lockers. It really makes me smile.
08:13Hey, here we go!
08:16Ten by ten!
08:19Oh, gosh, look at it. It goes to the side.
08:20Ten by twenty, folks!
08:24Nice box.
08:25Oh, that's a nice empty box.
08:27Yeah, it's pretty nice. They got stickums and stuff.
08:29Stickums?
08:30Yeah. Yeah, this is worth some money right here.
08:32About ten, fifty, twenty, thirty-five.
08:36Those are about a hundred bucks new.
08:40Oh, my. This is the coolest dream house I've ever seen.
08:44I mean, I honestly, I can use these racks.
08:47I got to organize all my staging stuff.
08:49And I always wanted a dream house. That one's kind of awesome.
08:52Empty boxes.
08:53There's a place to put things, but no things to put.
08:57Yes.
08:58It's been a lot of displaying, not a lot of freedom.
09:01Yeah, but there's a beach ball. And it's all hell.
09:03In terms of railing you in, I feel like this is not a good use of our time.
09:07Right.
09:08Don't let the shiny beach ball distract you from the fact that this is an empty locker.
09:12Thank you, Carrie.
09:14They took a lot out of this room, but they left some stuff behind.
09:18PlayStation boxes, huh? Look at that.
09:20Oh, my God. Monitors.
09:22I might be involved if it's cheap.
09:25Just to have a peek at those three boxes.
09:28All right. We got a big old 20-foot unit here.
09:3020-foot unit here.
09:31And it's full of shoving and something else.
09:34What's that? I'll never tell.
09:36Here we go. How much money? What's the pleasure of this one?
09:41Five dollars.
09:41I got five five here. Now, 10-10 where?
09:4410-10, what have been 10 there?
09:45Yeah.
09:45What have been 30 now? What have been 40 now?
09:47What have been 40 there?
09:4850 now?
09:4960 now?
09:49What have been 70 now?
09:50What have been 70? 70 now?

10:04Yeah!
10:06Oh, Lord!
10:09250, 250 going twice.
10:11Yeah!

10:24Three, two, three, four, three, four, five, five.
10:26So let's win.
10:27Brandy!
10:28You got it, Brandy!
10:29All right, baby!
10:31That's not America.
10:33All right, that's the end of our sale, baby.
10:34All right, that's the end of our sale, baby.
10:35Oh, folks, follow us to the next auction.
10:37Let's go.
10:37Let's go.
10:41I'm staying behind and checking out my locker.
10:43If I make good money here, maybe I won't even go to Garden Grove.
10:47Bookcases.
10:49$25 each.
10:51$25 shower chair and a $20 clean back chair.
10:55We've got, what do you call these?
10:57Eight millimeter?
10:58I would probably get, like, 40 bucks for all that.
11:00Kirsten.
11:01All right, here we go.
11:03Nicole.
11:04Haven't heard of her.
11:06$40 worth of purchase.
11:11This, my friend, is Clausen A.
11:14This has done one through, like, an eight-layer process of wire and stuff.
11:18Nice piece.
11:18I want to say about $300 bucks right there.
11:21Oh, jewelry box, baby.
11:23Let's see what we got in here.
11:25Nice and empty.
11:27Still nice.
11:28$10 box.
11:31Another jewelry box with no jewelry in it.
11:34$10.
11:35It gives me hope, though.
11:37Maybe the jewelry will be around somewhere loose.
11:39$40 bucks in clothes.
11:42Fragile.
11:42Living room base.
11:43I like that.
11:44Good.
11:45That's great.
11:46Also, Somerset.
11:47$400 bucks.
11:49Stereo.
11:49Kenwood apparently, you know.
11:51I want to say $350.
11:53Everything is clean, sellable stuff, but there's nothing super home run yet.
11:59Makeup stuff.
12:01Uh-oh.
12:02You know what that looks like?
12:04Oh, my gosh.
12:05Cartier.
12:05Too bad this is not a nice watch.
12:07Nonetheless, probably expensive.
12:09I think it has perfumes in it.
12:10I would imagine that's probably about $300 bucks.
12:13Here we go.
12:14Another $45 bucks in perfumes.
12:18Oh, Wedgwood.
12:19We love Wedgwood.
12:20Beautiful Wedgwood.
12:21Gold ripped glasses.
12:24Definitely $200 bucks in here.
12:26That's a big old gravy bowl or something.
12:28Easy $50 bucks in here.
12:30Oh, my God.
12:30Look at this.
12:32Look at this beautiful Venetian mirror.
12:34I love it.
12:35It's a heart, too.
12:36$250 on that.
12:37Is it weird that I don't see my reflection?
12:43Let's see what we got in here.
12:45Oh, look at this mother pearl inlaid box.
12:49That's all wood, too.
12:52Oh, we got something in there.
12:54This is an old box, too.
12:56Very nice.
12:58An old silver ring, I think.
13:02Got an old silver ring in there.
13:05We got what appears to be an old silver bracelet, I think.
13:10And then you have this fancy thing that you push this button, and it pops this drawer open.
13:16Voila, look at that.
13:17We have a beautiful little necklace here.
13:19I think the box, myself, is beautiful.
13:22So, I think I'm gonna take all the jewelry to my jewelry guy, because it's a really beautiful box, and
13:28there's lots of jewelry in there.
13:30Later, I'll dig around and find the best pieces to get appraised.
13:33But hopefully, this locker turns out to be a real gem.
13:37All right.
13:38Let's get through this.
13:40Money, money.
13:41Plastic kitchenware.
13:42$10.
13:43Candles and coffee pots, and this and that, and kitchen items.
13:46$20.
13:48Just clean stuff.
13:50There we go.
13:51Another $20 in there.
13:52Those 20 or so boxes, $700 bucks.
13:55That was disappointing.
13:57Garden Grill, here I come.
14:01Ranchos Palos Verdes was not necessarily a jackpot.
14:06It was disappointing, but you did stay focused.
14:09We didn't, you didn't get distracted.
14:11Thanks to you.
14:13I know.
14:14We have to get a locker.
14:15Don't worry.
14:16Together, I have a good feeling about this.
14:23Let's see if that bathroom's open.
14:26There's always a line.
14:28There's always a line.
14:29A line for what?
14:31The bathroom.
14:33You got a number.
14:34You got your number?
14:35Oh, number one.
14:36Oh, you can't stand by the door.
14:38Oh, I thought you meant the number that I had to do.
14:44Here we are.
14:46Okay, get a good look, folks.
14:51There's a lot of stuff in here.
14:53It's not packed very well.
14:54And it looks like it's mostly clothes.
14:58Nothing jumping out for my clients.
15:01I don't, I don't think there's anything I have.
15:03I don't like wicker either.
15:04It's where the bed bugs are.
15:06Let somebody else get this that sells clothes.
15:09They got a 99 cent basket on the front of the bike.
15:12They got a 99 cent basket on the front of the bike.
15:14It's a female's unit.
15:16Pink hangers, pink sweater.
15:18I'm seeing too much Rosa and not enough Birdie.
15:22Rosa is pink and Spanish.
15:24Girly, girly, girly.
15:26You got a girl's bike.
15:28You got a bunch of boxes and ties and purses and hanging clothes.
15:33Every woman's dream.
15:35If the price is right, I'll be in.
15:38What do we have here?
15:40That beach cruiser is actually a vintage beach cruiser, I think.
15:43I like, um...
15:46All right.
15:46I like all the stuff.
15:48This is good.
15:49Yeah.
15:49This looks like it'll be fun to go through.
15:50It goes back.
15:51Yeah.
15:52A lot of boxes.
15:53Okay.
15:54All right.
15:54Let's just not act too overly excited.
15:58Gotcha.
15:58Yeah.
16:00Come on, Lisa.
16:00Tell me what you think about it.
16:02It's all right.
16:03You can't keep the grin off your face.
16:05I'm always smiling.
16:06What are you talking about?
16:09Everybody's got a little tell there, Lisa.
16:11He's really trying to make you unfocused and distracted.
16:14Ah.
16:14But you're not.
16:15No, I'm not.
16:16Eyes here.
16:17Eyes here.
16:18Okay.
16:18Will you bid on this one for me?
16:20You want me to do it?
16:21I want you to do it.
16:22Okay.
16:23By having Carrie bid, I'm hoping that Dave doesn't realize we're a team.
16:27Shh.
16:29All right.
16:30Here we go.
16:30Number 20.
16:30What's your pleasure?
16:31What are you going to pay saying?
16:31How much?
16:32How much money?
16:33I've got $50 right there.
16:35$75.
16:36$75.
16:37$75.
16:38$75.

18:21I know.
18:22And I can't even swim.
18:24Oh, I hate it.

18:48There's like some crafting stuff in there.
18:51Fold away guests, man.
18:53I think we need to focus our way this way.
19:05All right, Ben City, this way.

19:54Start here.
19:55Move stuff.
19:56Make a little space.
19:57Use that at the table.
19:58With a plan in place and a carry by my side,
20:00this locker's going to be easy-peasy city.

20:42Hang on.
20:43Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa.
20:44Ooh, this one's very Y2K.
20:46This is what we want.

20:51I know.
20:52$60 worth of clothing.
20:54Nice.
20:54Okay.
20:55We love the Y2K.
20:56I'll sell the Y2K.
20:57I won't wear it, but I'll sell it.

21:03A little fringy-fringe-fringe.
21:06Ooh.
21:08Gross.
21:09What is that velvet?
21:11I think it is.
21:13Oh, that's fun.
21:14$15.
21:15Yes.
21:15What do you think?
21:1630 bucks for the one with the rhinestones?
21:18Y2, okay.
21:21Oh, wait, more Y2K.
21:23Oh, oh, oh.
21:24We got to be Y2 careful.
21:25Yeah.
21:26Oh, I love the belting.
21:28Can you explain to me again, why is Y2K popular?
21:31You know, it's just like, you know, the 70s are back, 80s are back.
21:35What's next?
21:3590s, 2000s.
21:37The early aughts.
21:38Yeah, that's what the young girls want.
21:4040 bucks.
21:41There's a window unit.
21:42Oh, that's some money.
21:44Y2 cool.
21:45This is about an $85 unit.
21:48Ooh, an exercise trampoline.
21:51Yes, see if it works, Carrie.
21:5340 bucks?
21:55Oh, yeah, let's get...
21:56Oh, look at that spring.
21:58Uh-oh.
22:00I heard a crack.
22:02And lesson learned.
22:04You lose focus, you get hurt.
22:06Yowch.
22:07We got some leopard prints.
22:10Okay, some plaids, some floral.
22:11Some more corsets.
22:12These are good.
22:13I say, ooh, this gown's great.
22:15Okay, I think with all this, $175.
22:17I'm going to say this box of vintage china, $50.
22:21Jewelry box, $25.
22:24Ooh, silk kimono.
22:26Oh, that is fantastic.
22:27Look at these colors.
22:28This is $100, Elisa.
22:30More vintage.
22:30I mean, 90s, but $25.
22:33Yeah, all day.
22:34This is very good.
22:35It's a duster.
22:36It's floor length, $50.
22:37Here, look at this also.
22:39Vintage.
22:40$25.
22:40Let me just put it up here real quick.
22:42Boi.
22:44Oh!
22:45Oh!
22:46Oh!
22:47This is cool.
22:50Boi.
22:53Oh!
22:53Oh!
22:55Oh!
22:55Oh!
22:55This is cool.
22:56Wow.
22:57Wow.
22:57This took a while.
22:58I tried to macrame once.
23:00Did not last very long.
23:01It's very long.
23:02Same.
23:03Oh, here's another little piece.
23:04People are into this macrame right now, too.
23:07You put your plants there.
23:08This guy took hours.
23:09This one is the grandpa of all macrame.
23:12I'm not, like, super knowledgeable in the woven arts.
23:16No.
23:17But what do you think?
23:17Maybe we could find someone who could tell us the value of this?
23:21Yeah.
23:22Oh, wait a minute.
23:25Wait a minute.
23:25We've got more macrame.
23:27Lisa, this looks amazing.
23:30Wow.
23:31I've never seen one like this.
23:33I've only seen the ones that are rope.
23:35I've never seen it with the wood.
23:37Man.
23:38Oh, my God.
23:38Which way does it go?
23:39Okay, so here's the top.
23:41Wait.
23:42Gosh, this is amazing.
23:42Okay, wait.
23:43Did we get it?
23:44No.
23:44No.
23:45I know.
23:45We're going to need somebody to help us even just untangle it.
23:48I'm going to find a macrame master.
23:51That's a thing, isn't it?
23:52I think we need the master.
23:55I'm kind of obsessed with this.
23:56Can you even imagine the amount of focus and concentration that it would take to macrame
24:01like that?
24:02Because I cannot.
24:04Here, Carrie.
24:05Some clothing.
24:07Oh.
24:08Get in there, girl.
24:09Oh, it's from the era of the early 2000s.
24:12Oh, God.
24:13More velvet.
24:15Whimsy goth box.
24:16This is 175 bucks.
24:17You know, even though there's been a lot of poppycock, we've still definitely made our
24:21money back.
24:22But I'm just not exactly sure how we're going to get out of here, Carrie.
24:26I don't know either.
24:32Come on, garden girl.
24:34Let's help Kenny grow some verdes around here.
24:38Let's do this right here.
24:39Hey, America.
24:40Where did you go?
24:41Oh, you're right here.
24:45Look at that right here.
24:46It looks so presentable on the box, doesn't it?
24:49Good 45 bucks, right here, boy?
24:50Just made my money back, right here.
24:53What do we got?
24:57What the hell is this?
24:59Merry Christmas.
25:00Nope.
25:01Let's get wild.
25:04Hey, kids.
25:05What sound does a rhino make?
25:09That's right.
25:10That's right.
25:10I don't know neither.
25:12I said about a good $10 for this right here.
25:16End table.
25:17I said about $10 a piece.
25:19All right, this is called fiberglass, America.
25:21You don't want to fool with this.
25:22This is very dangerous.
25:24Your ass will be itching for two weeks.
25:26So this ain't no money.
25:28Oh, this is a purse.
25:30Look at this, boy, with the gold trimmings.
25:32You can look a sexy right here.
25:33You know what?
25:34You can make it even sexy.
25:35Put some grilled ham and cheeses in here.
25:3745 big ones.
25:38We got another one.
25:39Another 45 big ones right here.
25:45Please let there be some good in here.
25:47I mean, some good stuff in here.
25:54Dog food, brother.
25:56Man, it's a ball feeder.
25:59This is a dog's Rubik's Cube.
26:01Boy, he'd probably be mad.
26:02Why the you put the crevels in here, you stupid ass?
26:05Zoo food.
26:06And then what they're going to feed that rhinoceros?
26:09Some exotic-ass dog food to get him all sexied up
26:12so the other one could say,
26:13oh, girl, I love your materials.
26:16Can exotic is different than erotic?
26:19Well, my bad, America.
26:20I'm sorry.
26:21I didn't read the whole fine print.
26:22But I don't think he'll play with this s***.
26:25I don't think he'll play with this.
26:27Let me see, what animal you think will play with this?
26:29Because there ain't no hypnopothermists going to do this.
26:31This is something I would love to get this looked at right here
26:34and see what kind of exotic animals
26:36that's going to eat this stinky-ass food right here.
26:40Okay.
26:42This is claw marks.
26:44Look at that.
26:45This has got all kind of claw marks on here.
26:50Nice kitty.
26:51Nice, pretty kitty.
26:52I wonder what kind of animal would get so mad
26:55that he want to beat up this piece of plastic like this.
26:58Now, see, this, I'm putting two and two together, America.
27:03See, the tiger barracuda,
27:05he probably was pissed off because of the food in here.
27:07He was scratching all the s*** up.
27:09See, I'm a detective.
27:12Animal detective.
27:13And we're going to see what animal these toys go to.
27:16Anybody got East Ventura number, he probably know.
27:22All right, I guess this is the place.
27:24Yeah.
27:25Oh, my gosh.
27:26Look at these knit stair railing.
27:28I'm off to see Courtney Freemeyer,
27:30one of the finest craft teachers at Remainders Creative Reuse.
27:34She's going to help me weave some money out of all this macrame.
27:41Okay, we've got a gigantic pile of...
27:45Knots.
27:47Knots, yes.
27:47So, what exactly is macrame?
27:51Yarn art?
27:52Fiber arts.
27:52Fiber arts, yes.
27:54So, macrame is sequences of knots, but it's actually considered a type of lace.
27:59Isn't it really?
28:00Yeah, lace at its core is like anything that the design is based on the spaces between the
28:06thread versus knitting or something that, you know, it's all the threads themselves.
28:11You use either a hook for crochet, you use the needles for knitting.
28:16For macrame, you're just using your hands.
28:19All hands, baby.
28:20All hands, baby.
28:22Ooh, so macrame is like a sexy version of knitting.
28:26Nice.
28:27So, we have a small one here.
28:30Twist it out.
28:31Let's see, oh, I think it's a little twisted.
28:33It's like a woven Rubik's Cube.
28:35I think maybe it's inside out, because this is...
28:38Same.
28:39We can do this.
28:39We can do this.
28:40Hey, there we go.
28:41What did you do?
28:42Hey.
28:43The macrame wizard over here.
28:45All right.
28:46It's nice.
28:46It feels like a genuine cotton cord.
28:49It's got a bunch of half double hitches.
28:51Oh, the old, the ye olde double hitch?
28:53Yeah.
28:53But it's really well, it's well done.
28:55How long would, like, these take?
28:57Um, it could take, like, five, six hours.
28:59You know, as you get more proficient, you get a lot faster with these.
29:03But, um, how old do you think that is?
29:06I would, I would guess this is from the 70s.
29:08So am I.
29:09So is, is macrame usually to make things, to put things in?
29:14Yeah, so these are examples of, of things to hold plants.
29:18Like, you can put, uh, two plants in here.
29:21Sometimes something like this could be used as, like, a fruit basket.
29:24Oh, that's cute.
29:24You could put your bananas in here or something like that.
29:26I love that.
29:27Hang it in your kitchen.
29:27This is definitely the most intricate.
29:30So crazy.
29:32Wow.
29:32I've never seen one that big.
29:34This one feels like it's made out of acrylic.
29:36Mm-hmm.
29:37Probably to make it weatherproof for outdoors.
29:40It is very elaborate.
29:41You just have so many layers of...
29:44It's dense.
29:45...knots.
29:45Yeah, yeah.
29:46You have this whole thing of, uh, alternating half-knots in between.
29:51I would guess this could take a hundred hours.
29:55Wow.
29:55This would not be a one-day project.
29:57Yeah.
29:58This is a...
29:59Someone's really got to love the art.
30:00Yeah.
30:00This one is...
30:01Oh, wow.
30:05This one is...
30:06Oh, wow.
30:07Yeah.
30:08Very unique.
30:08I don't think I've seen one like this before.
30:10Can I...
30:11Ooh.
30:11Okay.
30:12Yeah, do you help?
30:13Yeah, if you could help.
30:14This is a three-man job.
30:17Wow.
30:18Right?
30:19Look at this.
30:20It has, like, the beadwork and then the trivets that have, like, a woven design.
30:24Mm-hmm.
30:25These would be square knots.
30:26And here you can see there's a sinnet of square knots.
30:28Sinets are when you have a row of them.
30:31But half knots, which is just one part of the square knot, when you do a sinnet of half knots,
30:36you get this, uh, effect where it starts to twist.
30:39But, yeah, I'm guessing this one would take 20 hours.
30:42All right.
30:43So, not to be materialistic, but how about let's get to the macro money.
30:47What do you think these are worth?
30:48Um, yeah, this does look vintage, but it is one that I could see being just a home project.
30:55But I could see you selling this for, like, $30.
30:58Sorry.
30:59So, this one, I'm sure, took a lot of time, the most of any of these three.
31:04But one thing to note is that it does have some wear and tear.
31:07You can see some fraying on some of the ends.
31:09You can see some rust stains.
31:11But otherwise, it's in really good condition.
31:13So, I would say $350 for this one.
31:15Ooh, now we're talking.
31:18This one, it is definitely the most unique of your lot.
31:22There are not many others like this that I think are on the market.
31:26I think you could get $420 for this.
31:30$420.
31:30Great number, Courtney.
31:33Looks like I just macromade myself a nice profit.
31:36I am not mad about that, Courtney.
31:40You're welcome.
31:44All right.
31:45What you got?
31:48Racks.
31:48On racks, on racks, on racks.
31:51All right, now I'm intrigued.
31:55You weren't kidding.
31:57Yeah.
31:57Lots and lots of racks.
31:58Yeah, definitely going to work for storage.
32:00The way I see it, I need to make $2.75 on this unit to get those racks for free.
32:04Let's do it.
32:05Okay.
32:06I just bought it for the dream house, to be honest.
32:10It...
32:10I didn't do it, I swear.
32:13Well, there's some empty boxes.
32:16Perfect.
32:16Well, you know, we can always use some boxes.
32:19What do you got there?
32:21I don't know what this is for.
32:22Like, it goes on your belt.
32:26What is that?
32:27Oh, it's a lightsaber belt clip.
32:28Come again?
32:29Badass.
32:30Do you have a lightsaber?
32:31I do.
32:33As a matter of fact.
32:34You do?
32:35Yes.
32:37Unique.
32:38Oh, those are cool.
32:40Some Darth Vader sneakers.
32:41Some Vader lover will get them.
32:43I don't know what kind of sneakers these are.
32:44Look at these bad boys.
32:46Wait, what size are those?
32:50I was going to...
32:51Oh, hold on.
32:52Oh, wait.
32:53Oh, my God.
32:54Oh, a little too big.
32:56Oh, they're too big now.
32:57A little too big.
32:58I don't think they're too big.
32:59They're too big on the ankle.
33:00You got some pretty sturdy ankles.
33:02That's what I mean.
33:02Yeah.
33:03Yeah, these are cool.
33:04Somebody will think that they're cool.
33:05Exactly, and they'll pay for it.
33:06And they'll pay for them.
33:07Custom sneakers.
33:08I don't know.
33:09I'll say at least $50 a pop-on.
33:10All right.
33:11Oh, look at this.
33:13Shut your mouth.
33:14It's a PS5, but I can't...
33:15Oh!
33:15Yeah.
33:17Winner.
33:17Yeah.
33:18I mean, I think this pays for the unit right here, right?
33:20Uh, you think you can get $300 for that?
33:22Yeah, probably.
33:23All right, $300 for that.
33:24Units paid for.
33:25Most women pay good money for their racks, but not me.
33:28I just got mine for free.
33:30All right, is there actual Halloween costumes in here?
33:33Well, put it right here.
33:34I made a black table right here.
33:36Yep.
33:37Oh, there goes.
33:39Sturdy.
33:40I've always wanted those for when I go to the dump.
33:43Because you have to wear a hard hat.
33:45That, no price on that.
33:47That's mine.
33:48These are some cool costumes.
33:49Oh.
33:51I'm sorry.
33:53Here, scallywag.
33:55No, no, not the hair.
33:55Don't mess the hair up.
33:56It's already done.
33:58Costumes.
33:59They're not awesome.
33:59I'd say $50 on that.
34:00Okay.
34:01All right, let's get this in the car.
34:03Let's get on out of here.
34:05Well, you want to keep the racks?
34:07Which ones?
34:08All of them.
34:08We're going to put...
34:09Racks on, racks on, racks on.
34:10Yes.
34:11We're going to put everything.
34:12Come on.
34:13Rack on, rack on, rack.
34:14Mozak, come on!
34:15All right, all right.
34:21Where the hell are you at, man?
34:27That's a big-eared dog.
34:29I'm at the Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary
34:32to meet with its founder, Joel Omquist,
34:35to see if any wild beasts want to play with my toys.
34:39What is this place, man?
34:41So this is Forever Wild Exotic Animal Sanctuary.
34:44We rescue exotic animals that either need to be re-homed
34:50or animals that were illegally owned, things like that.
34:53And we take them in and give them a safe place to live
34:56for the rest of their life.
34:57Hey, that boy, what are you doing?
34:58You about to open that cage?
35:00No, we're just going to feed her underneath.
35:02Oh, no.
35:05You about to open that cage?
35:06No, we're just going to feed her underneath.
35:08Oh, no.
35:10He's looking at you like lunch.
35:14On that note, Oz gots to go.
35:17I don't want to be nobody's lunch, but I'm not going to leave here
35:20until I see how much my stuff is worth.
35:23Come on, kiddie, be brave.
35:24I don't know what I found, but I thought this was a drum at first.
35:29That's what I thought it was.
35:30Well, it's not quite a drum.
35:32This right here is a boomer toy.
35:35They come in different shapes and things like that.
35:37This is built of a, you know, very high-density plastic.
35:40I see some scratches on here.
35:42Yeah, yeah.
35:43But it's pretty thick plastic, and we give them to, you know, the lions.
35:47We give them to tigers.
35:48The animals can, you know, play with it.
35:50But I bought some more toys and stuff.
35:52It's like a torture ball, right?
35:54Yeah, so this right here is like an enrichment feeder.
35:57So we'll put fruit, meat, things like that,
36:01give it to the animal, and they'll roll it around.
36:03Food will come out of it.
36:04You know, it keeps their minds moving.
36:07We'll use these a lot for the different primates.
36:09So what else you got here?
36:11All right, we got hibbles and bits.
36:13I thought it was exotic stuff for the animals.
36:17Yes, yeah.
36:18So this...
36:19Sexual chocolate.
36:20Sexual chocolate.
36:22This is actually like a dry food for small, exotic felines,
36:28like bobcats, servals.
36:30I've seen him over there.
36:31Is this like for vegan animals?
36:34No, it's actually a meat-based diet that's in there.
36:38It's just freeze-dried and, you know, things like that.
36:41Freeze-dried.
36:41Yeah.
36:42Break this down to let me know how much all this Babalu toy stuff is.
36:46Well, the freeze-dried exotic feline diet is probably a $25 bag.
36:53For real?
36:54Yep.
36:54All that healthy, nutritional stuff?
36:56Yep.
36:57All right, let's get to the volleyball and the drum, right?
37:01So the ball feeder, 40 bucks.
37:04Yeah, for real?
37:05Yep.
37:06Now let's get to the big antiemelada.
37:08The tom-tom.
37:10So the big one, and this one is literally brand new.
37:15Really?
37:16To me, this is brand new.
37:18There's not bite marks through it.
37:21You're probably looking at...
37:23Oh.
37:26130 bucks?
37:27Yeah, that's a lot of scratch for some throw-up plastic.
37:31You know, I don't have no use of it, but I'm thinking about giving it to your foundation.
37:36I really appreciate that.
37:38That is awesome.
37:39See if we can end up giving this to either one of the tigers or the lions or bears.
37:43Lions, tigers, lepers, oh my.
37:45Oh, yeah, yeah.
37:46I know that movie.
37:53Mike, how are you?
37:55Hey, Dave.
37:56Long time no see.
37:57Good to see you.
37:57I'm bringing the jewelry box and some choice pieces that I found.
38:01To my local gemologist, Mike.
38:02And Michael Moses Jewelers.
38:04I found this beautiful, cool little box.
38:07Great.
38:08And then there was a box of jewelry in there I picked a few pieces out.
38:11I thought it might be diamonds and gold.
38:13So first off, what we're looking at is obviously a jewelry vanity.
38:17The condition could be better, but it's all original.
38:20And, of course, we see some wear down in this area here, but still a great piece.
38:24Obviously, we're missing the hidden compartment drawer here.
38:27I'm noticing this mother of pearl inlay here.
38:29It's got some wear, and it looks like it's been refurbished once in the past, quite some time ago.
38:33So it's already had its life.
38:34Still a great piece.
38:35So we're going to start with this ring here.
38:37Okay.
38:37What we have here is a marcasite inlay mother of pearl ring.
38:41This is a period-correct 1920s, hand-fabricated most of it.
38:45On the back, you can see how the plate's been added separately.
38:47What really makes this ring great is that it's all original.
38:51The condition of the ring is a 10.
38:53There's no question about that.
38:54It's over 100 years old.
38:56It is actually pretty special to still have one of these in this condition.
38:59Very cool ring.
39:00So now let's move on to this lipstick compact or vanity, whatever you like to call it.
39:07This piece dates to circa 1920, just like the other marcasite ring you had.
39:11So the springs are both working, which make it, in terms of condition, pretty darn good, right?
39:16Pretty great.
39:17The mirror, not cracked, not broken, appears to be the original mirror in here.
39:21Great piece.
39:22This is a piece I really liked.
39:24I really liked this piece for a couple of reasons.
39:26The condition, and I love the patina.
39:29It still has the original patina.
39:30The style is screaming 1920s.
39:32So for someone who really likes that style, I would imagine that they would be really excited to see something
39:38like this.
39:39I think this is a really great piece.
39:40A lot of deco pieces we have here.
39:43As far as styling, it's a winner.
39:44The stones in here are paste.
39:47What does it mean when the stones are paste?
39:49They are stones that were developed in the 18th century to emulate a diamond, right?
39:53You can get this really big look for not a lot of money.
39:56People have this idea that costume jewelry is inexpensive.
39:58I've seen paste necklaces get into the thousands of dollars.
40:01In fact, there's a big collectibility for those necklaces.
40:04Collectibility?
40:05That means money.
40:07All right.
40:07The earring.
40:08Dave, just like the other pieces, the condition is really great from the 1920s.
40:12Everything we're looking at in here is all diamonds.
40:14Quality-wise, on a scale from 1 to 10, these are a 9, maybe a 10.
40:18And that's what's great about older jewelry.
40:20Typically, you're seeing higher quality diamonds being used, better color.
40:24Just everything's just a little bit better.
40:25There's a better craftsmanship.
40:27Absolutely.
40:27So this type of setting that the stone is in is called a buttercup setting.
40:32You have this metal that surrounds the stone that makes the stone look larger.
40:37Quality is really high.
40:38I think they're great.
40:40Now, moving on to the last item that we have, this bracelet here.
40:44It's not as old as these pieces.
40:46Okay.
40:46But quality, the weight of this, Dave, you can feel the weight of this.
40:49Lots of diamonds.
40:50Lots of diamonds in there.
40:51Little diamonds in here and little diamonds in there.
40:54You got diamonds everywhere in that little thing.
40:56Diamonds are a man's best friend.
40:57It's all been hand-fabricated.
40:59You can see that there's just a lot of work to make this rivet.
41:02Today, you have these that are mass manufactured and then assembled.
41:06It's very heavy.
41:07You wouldn't get a bracelet today that looks like this and expect it to weigh this much.
41:10It's very unusual.
41:11Mike, what do you think the total value of everything I have here is?
41:16Dave, you have some great pieces.
41:17After we spent the time going through it, I think pretty well in detail.
41:21Dave, no question about it.
41:25$10,000 on what you have here.
41:27I don't like to cuss, but I would say that's effing great.
41:30I'm a little bit embarrassed that I let my emotions get out of control like that.
41:34Love it.
41:37Dave Hester saw that diamonds really are a man's best friend, making a sparkly 9,600 stones.
41:46Lisa Delario stayed focused, weaving together a profit of 1,400 knots.
41:53Brandi Passante proved she still has the best racks in the game.
41:58While Kenny Crosley survived an El Tigre attack and walked away with 120 in cold, hard Bear Day.
42:09Ashley, straight through.
42:11Oh no, did I do those wrong?
42:13I mean, no, I wouldn't worry about it.
42:15Oh, this is how I like it.
42:17I like when the teacher shows you what to do and then she ends up doing it for you.
42:21Great.
42:21I need some elbow room.
42:23You guys, I might need to separate you two.
42:25That wouldn't be the first time you heard that.
42:27I'm getting it.
42:28I think I'm getting it.
42:30Let's pretend like we're kind of done with that section.
42:33Let's just, let's do that.
42:34Let's pretend.
42:35Courtney, are we your best students you've ever had?
42:38They may not be the best macrame students I've ever had.
42:43This project is supposed to go for just a half hour, but we may be here a little longer.
