00:00This being a very high-quality store, it of course does have some false crap village.
00:08For Funny Faces with Gloria, where Gloria makes a funny face.
00:13On our crawl of consignment and thrift stores, Nina found this one and I went into it a couple
00:18weeks ago and I said, this is Junt's Cart Primo. Really? I've been by this place many,
00:23many a time. I haven't been into this plaza. I'll tell you how long this has been. I used to
00:29be in
00:29Boy Scouts of America store where you went to buy badges and uniforms. That was the last time I
00:34was in this plaza. I think this place is really interesting because it's sort of half consignment.
00:38You know, people bring in their things, so it's a little higher price. But then the other half
00:43looks like closeout. It appears to be leftover stock. Dead stock, isn't it? Furniture and
00:50household consignment. A ceramic Easter basket where it looks like the egg has been clipped.
00:54What did you get from here that you love? Her bell. Her bell. Yes, she bought a little bell.
01:01Now make sure, because these are small hallways, that you don't bump into glass.
01:04Straight to the dishware with you. Yeah, so everybody knows I love dishware. What they
01:08might not know is that my father also is a fan of a particular dishware. It's Mikasa's
01:13cherry pattern, which this isn't, but it looks very much like, and I had to come over and
01:17check if it was. I have a set of not this pattern, but another from this brand that is roses.
01:22Look, John, false graph. Oh, yes. Three piece. Covered canister. It's not village, but. Nope.
01:27It's for your flour, your sugar. Not a pattern I'm into. That's like a 2000s pattern. I wonder if it's
01:32made in China or made in America.
01:33That's American made. Yeah. They're more like traditional kind of, you know, antique store prices.
01:38eBay prices. eBay prices, yeah. Maybe a little under. You think of this enameled chala.
01:41I think it was real. That's a lot like the one that Angry Kirby had us make. Yeah.
01:44Look at these breads. Mine's looking real bulbous. They kind of ran into each other a little.
01:48They look real nice. I think it was real, and it's just been enameled. No way.
01:52Really? Give it a feel. I mean. Yeah, I believe it. Oh, yeah. Oh, yeah.
01:58It feels kind of plasticky, but the way it's broken up here is not something you can do with plastic.
02:03Look at the color. It's the heaviest bag. It's stainless made in Japan.
02:07Oh. So I've come across all that stainless, but it's normally made in China.
02:09That probably means it's at least 30 years old. This is very evoking of Easter to me.
02:13Pastel to me. Pastel. I love these. It's classic corningware.
02:17Hey, here's some more false graph. This is folk art. If this was in Village, I'd pick it up.
02:21It's the right color. It's a lamp base. What? It's for making a lamp.
02:24I don't know why it exists without its lamp hardware, but.
02:26Candles. Candles.
02:27Interesting. This is like a completely different vibe than that room.
02:30It actually has a different entrance and exit. This probably was two stores at one time.
02:34Yeah, wireless headphone. IPC tester. I don't even know what this is for.
02:39TC support external. What?
02:41Oh, it's security testing equipment. It's a testing security system.
02:44You know, a little keyboard graveyard?
02:46Yeah. A little everything here.
02:48Compact mechanical keyboard?
02:49Not quite my tempo, but.
02:51Not quite my tempo.
02:52Not quite my tempo. It's all good. No worries. Here we go.
02:54USB speakers. I like the little teeny ones you can just carry around.
02:58Yeah, they sound so tinny, though, you know?
02:59True.
02:59A lot of interesting variety. My kind of bottle, Frankie.
03:02Giant Yeti.
03:04Oh, crap. That wasn't really that much.
03:06What? How much?
03:07$75?
03:07A teeny tiny Candyland?
03:09I used to actually love those when I was a kid.
03:11Yeah?
03:11We had a bunch of those little tiny games you could play in the car, and I think my sister
03:14and I only successfully played them a few times before the pieces all got lost.
03:17It's a pizza oven right next to you.
03:19Yeah. You ever have any interest in that kind of thing? Make your own pizza?
03:22Can't you just make your pizza in your oven?
03:23Sure.
03:24Why do you need special equipment?
03:26Supposedly it's better. It's not better.
03:28By, like, what percentage? Five?
03:29Four.
03:30Yeah.
03:31Little Cape Cod.
03:32How do you like this little science stuff?
03:34It's cool. It's nothing I'd ever need, but it's cool.
03:36Look at these classic glasses.
03:38I like them.
03:39Pokemon books. A super collection.
03:41That's kind of cool.
03:42What age group are they for, I wonder?
03:44I'd say probably, like, nine through twelve.
03:46They are pretty dense.
03:47Ah, yes.
03:48Also, a giant Tootsie Roll bag.
03:50Oh, my gosh.
03:51Well, I see the giant LeBooBoo.
03:52They have, like, no faces.
03:54They're, like, wood.
03:55They're, like, so many of them.
03:56Incredible spinners.
03:58You disrupted it.
04:00They have big heads.
04:01They do.
04:02Hey!
04:02Don't scratch up them heads!
04:04Now, Gloria, last time she was here, she bought a little bell, like a serving, a service bell.
04:08Oh, yeah.
04:08And she used it.
04:09She sits in her rocking chair next to a little table, and she'll ring it.
04:13Really?
04:13Won't you?
04:15Mother!
04:15Mother!
04:16Don't do that a lot.
04:18Might I be entitled to a snack?
04:20CDs.
04:21A whole lot of CDs.
04:22I saw a great video that popped up in some social media feed.
04:25A mom with her giant CD collection, and she was sorting through them, and the daughter was going, like,
04:30Just throw them out.
04:31It's fine.
04:31And she's like, I'm not doing that.
04:33I've thrown stuff out in the past, and then they've come back in.
04:36Yeah.
04:36I'm not going through it all over again.
04:38And what I'm trying to help them to understand.
04:41I don't care.
04:44I'm keeping the CDs.
04:46I got rid of my albums, and they came back.
04:50I'm not doing this again.
04:51Okay, but here's the thing.
04:52Is that if you like a song on here, I could play it faster than you'd be able to open
04:56this.
04:57No, because I don't remember the songs that I like.
04:58I like seeing them and go, oh, I like Oingo Boingo.
05:02I like Anita Baker.
05:04I want to hear her.
05:05I won't remember that she's even alive.
05:08Fish.
05:10Stay Puffman, or what do they call him?
05:11Yeah, Pillsbury.
05:12Pillsbury Doughboy.
05:13Also, by the way.
05:15How dare you.
05:18Ah, vinyl, which I'm now into.
05:20What kind of vinyls do you collect?
05:21Just my favorite music.
05:22Yeah.
05:22I don't need a million.
05:24But the fact that they're here is fun.
05:26I mean, look, Cat Stevens.
05:27Oh, yeah.
05:28Buddha and the Chocolate Box.
05:29Do you know who that is?
05:30Jaja.
05:31Jaja.
05:32Me sit back.
05:33Not that I would ever need it, but these kind of like coin sets with like collections of coins.
05:37I love coin collecting.
05:38It is intriguing.
05:39Yes.
05:39It's like, I wouldn't pay $225 for it, but it is like, that's really cool.
05:44So I can't, I'm like, is this glass?
05:46Also in the last video, I don't know if you saw, but the flower on my headband was custom made
05:52by me.
05:53It was beautiful.
05:54What happened to it?
05:54Um, it's in the car now.
05:56I switched it out for the pin.
05:58Yeah, the pin is very pretty too.
05:59What if I put the pin on the flower, which then connected to the headband?
06:04Like this little lamp.
06:05Do you?
06:06It's $187 bucks though.
06:07Your chandelier in your kitchen area has this sort of stained glass.
06:11Yeah, the same kind of motif.
06:12I always liked that motif.
06:13Authentic stained glass.
06:14The real stained glass.
06:15Give me an offer.
06:17I can't wait.
06:19A mug that says Nana.
06:20It's like a Beetlejuice hat.
06:21A Beetlejuice hat?
06:22Like, um, what's her face?
06:24Yeah.
06:24Look, Disney stuff.
06:25You can drink out of a man's face.
06:29Where his brain would be.
06:32Have you ever wanted to drink out of a man's face where his brain would normally be?
06:36Uh, it came with the frame.
06:40Oh, DVDs.
06:41Check it out.
06:42It's on the DVD section.
06:43Gloria, the cult of Cartman.
06:45Mom?
06:45Dad?
06:46Why am I smaller than mom?
06:50This being a very high quality store, it of course does have some Falsecraft Village.
06:55A beautiful set of many dinner plates.
06:57Many more than I would ever need.
06:58The question is, does Nina know?
07:00Because she, I think she likes the Falsecraft stuff.
07:02Do you guys have Falsecraft at your home?
07:03We have the Christmas ones and we pull them out.
07:05Yeah.
07:05Yeah.
07:05Can I interest you in any Falsecraft dinner plates?
07:07Village?
07:09Solar-powered strawberry.
07:12That's what that is?
07:13No, I'm still really naturally solar-powered, you know?
07:16But you need it.
07:17What does it do?
07:18The weather station, like the barometer.
07:19My grandfather had one of those too, the triple, triple meter barometer.
07:23Thermometer, barometer, and the humidity meter.
07:25We had them in our house too, and I was confused and annoyed.
07:29I don't know, these aren't clocks.
07:31Why do I need this data?
07:32Yeah.
07:33Why do I need this data?
07:35It was essentially the question I was asking.
07:37You can comically fall through these.
07:39I have, please, no.
07:41This place is awesome, but as a large guy, like, I feel like I'm continuously having to,
07:45like, very carefully manage my motion.
07:48What kind of effigies are these?
07:50Hand-blown, twisted glass.
07:51Oh, yeah.
07:52I mean, we've seen stuff like that at the art fairs and stuff.
07:54Yeah.
07:54This isn't my color palette, really, or I don't have, like, a lot of room for free decor,
07:58but it's pretty, it's cute.
07:59I'm looking for a clock to replace our cable box, like, where our cable box was and used
08:03to tell us the time, and then we pulled the cable box out.
08:05But these aren't any of those.
08:05I mean, you got a couple of different ones right here.
08:07The sun guys.
08:08A couple of sun guys offering drinks.
08:10I mean, I love it.
08:11Like, I, you know, I can't live without my apartment.
08:13Are you relieved to be out of those fragile hallways?
08:16I am.
08:16I love the store, but I had to, I felt like I was, I had to, like, very carefully watch
08:21where I was going all the time.
08:22So we didn't buy anything, but we, we got one more location.
08:24You want to go to Savers for what now?
08:26I want to go to Savers because we're looking for doll clothes very specifically.
08:30Plus, now I've remembered I want, like, a mantle clock, like a small one.
08:33Is this the tooth that's wiggly?
08:34Good, that's the one I need to get out of this.
08:36Oh, look what you got.
08:37I got a cart.
08:38It's my standard process.
08:39If for no other reason than to lean.
08:40Yes.
08:41I have a very specific pattern I do at Savers.
08:43Yeah?
08:43This way, off the side, around there, to the back corner, and then up and out.
08:48I just go straight to the VHS tapes.
08:50Really?
08:50Straight to them.
08:51I had one of these, this exact pottery when I was a kid.
08:54Different glaze, but the same maker.
08:56I don't know who made it.
08:57Oh, wow.
08:57An arcade one of it, Savers.
08:59A little final fight?
09:00Oh, $85.99.
09:01We've actually done Savers for John's Cards many times.
09:04We have.
09:04This is nothing new.
09:05But the fact is, we don't have Goodwill in our area.
09:08Yeah.
09:08The closest Goodwill is pretty far away.
09:10Yeah, Rhode Island somewhere, right?
09:11Yeah, well, I think the closest one is, like, past Boston.
09:14Oh, really?
09:14Yeah.
09:14Wow.
09:15This is a section that I never used to visit, but now I stop in at.
09:18It's like the office supplies section.
09:21You look like you're almost, like, confused by yourself.
09:23There's still something I like about, like, a fresh pad of paper.
09:27You ever use a fresh pad?
09:28No.
09:28So I don't buy it.
09:29I just look at it.
09:30But I did actually find some things here that I've loved.
09:33You know, like a school teacher computer boarder that I put up in my computer lab.
09:37Or, like, sometimes you get packs of floppy disks, even.
09:39Oh, frames, Nina.
09:40Frames.
09:40I need an 11 by 17 frame.
09:42That's a huge frame.
09:44She needs this.
09:45Really?
09:45So you have your rocking chair and she's got hers.
09:47Can I be honest?
09:48She honestly needs this.
09:51It is a perfect fit.
09:52There's no question.
09:53Wait, this is the exact same one.
09:55Yeah, I know exactly how to open this.
09:57Do they have enough glasses?
09:58Drinking glasses.
09:59Way too many.
10:00It feels like it's too many.
10:01Yeah, it's obviously too many.
10:03Yeah, this is where I see stuff and I'm like, nobody should buy any.
10:06Like, we have generations worth of supplies.
10:08Although, the thing is, you have to settle for the pineapple ones.
10:11I mean, I think they have a healthy media selection.
10:13They do.
10:14And the thing is, you're going to see less and less of this.
10:16Yeah.
10:16Little Mermaid 2, anyone?
10:18On a strange case.
10:19Is that DVD or a bullwrap?
10:21What?
10:21It's DVD, ew.
10:22Remember when everything came with a digital copy?
10:25Yes.
10:25And, like, did anyone ever redeem their digital copy ever?
10:27No, they were so rights restricted.
10:29Aside from the fact that I like to collect VHS.
10:31Yeah.
10:31The reason I like this section is because I remember a time when I didn't collect VHS when
10:35this sort of thing was plentiful.
10:36Yes.
10:36And then it kind of went away.
10:38Yeah.
10:38But they've still got it.
10:39In the car, I just found out that I have a loose tooth.
10:42I've seen the movie, it's okay, but this is like a 1983 or 4 release of it, which is
10:48just classic.
10:49You can get a Joe Pesci two tape.
10:52You can get Ruby's Dream and Family Enforcer, two movies I've never heard of.
10:54Yeah, me neither.
10:55There is Titanic, though, of course.
10:57You see that a lot.
10:57A lot of ways to release It's a Wonderful Life.
11:00Did they do Lord of the Rings on VHS?
11:02They did.
11:03Patch Adams, Home Alone.
11:04Great movie, Patch Adams.
11:06I've never seen Paint Your Wagon.
11:07Just Simpsons.
11:08Just know the reference from The Simpsons.
11:09Gonna use an oil-based paint because the wood is pine.
11:14Ponderosa pine.
11:16Gonna use oil-based paint because the wood is pine.
11:21Ponderosa pine.
11:24There's no shortage of sweating to the oldies.
11:27No, three, four, five, 38, 40.
11:29Hey, I don't know.
11:30Maybe it's fun.
11:31The only problem I see is that they always advertise that the people doing it are still
11:34fat, so I can't be promised results.
11:37Well, I mean, I think that's meant to be like, fat people can do this too, you know, because
11:41that's what you are.
11:42This is the one with Martin Short being like, do the baby workout.
11:45Do the baby workout.
11:47Make the baby sleep.
11:52Little king soldier.
11:54A big king soldier.
11:56Yeah, that's, oh my gosh, it's right on the back.
11:58See, I guess I'm just excited by their media section.
12:01Yeah.
12:01It is.
12:02I mean, they have so many DVDs too.
12:04DVDs are going to be the same thing soon.
12:06I bought The King and I on vinyl here.
12:08Oh, yeah.
12:09Have you ever do laser discs here?
12:10Have you ever had any of that?
12:10I haven't seen it, but what I've noticed is when I go to Rain'em and I sort through
12:14their vinyl, laser discs show up.
12:16Oh, yeah, because of the same physical size.
12:17Nobody knows.
12:18The people that are reselling aren't looking.
12:19I have no clue.
12:20Do you think, though, that cassette tapes, because they're selling brand new ones at
12:23Newberry Comics now, the cassette tapes.
12:25Yeah, well, they're coming back around too.
12:26With Walkman.
12:27Yeah, always one of my favorite aisles.
12:29I found so many granny square blankets I love in this section.
12:32I always give them the feel test, you know, like, oh, see, it's a nice granny square,
12:36but it's a little rough.
12:38It's medium rough.
12:39Yeah, pretty soft.
12:40I'm going only for the softness nowadays.
12:42You never outgrew granny square blankets.
12:44Never will.
12:45See, this is nice.
12:46This is soft.
12:47It's a good softness.
12:48Yeah, even softer than the last one.
12:50Yeah.
12:50Nothing I need today.
12:51I feel like my house doesn't have good blankets.
12:54But you could solve this problem.
12:55Yeah.
12:56Here.
12:59Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
13:02Explain how.
13:02$20.
13:03I wanted a peanut.
13:05$20 can buy many peanuts.
13:07Explain how.
13:08Money can be exchanged for goods and services.
13:11Look at that beast.
13:12It's sold.
13:13Aw.
13:14I know you were thinking about it.
13:15I would sit in it.
13:16Always like to look at the board games.
13:17See if I see anything good.
13:19B-O-R-E-D.
13:20I bet the board is spelled B-O-R-E-D.
13:24I've got a lot of good ones to play with the kids here.
13:28Vampirina.
13:29Death of things is vampire-ins.
13:31And we've got a case of human culture show.
13:35Whoa.
13:37Vampirina.
13:38Mega Iron Man.
13:39Anxiety.
13:40Now anxiety can be yours.
13:42So you continued to respect the sold chair.
13:44Yes.
13:45I'm in an unsold chair.
13:47I would not want to damage.
13:48If I was in that situation and a very fat man came along and said, I want to sit on
13:52your
13:52beautiful sold chair and he crushed it, I would be sad.
13:56How do you feel about that chair?
13:56I like that chair.
13:57I actually like it a lot.
13:59I don't have like, it's nothing in my life is that style, but I feel like if it was,
14:04my life would be incredible.
14:06If somehow everything was that.
14:08Yeah.
14:08If everything was in this style, like this 90s corporate office, like wood-toned corporate
14:13office style.
14:14So imagine you had that plus false graph.
14:16Oh man.
14:16It's all settled.
14:17Yeah.
14:17No one can hurt you.
14:18No.
14:19I'm invincible.
14:20You buying anything?
14:21Nope.
14:22And all you're getting is this rocking chair.
14:24Yeah, for five bucks.
14:25Cool.
14:25We're discovering that the tag on the top is different from the tag on the bottom.
14:28Which one are you paying?
14:29The more expensive one.
14:30Aw.
14:31What's the one on bottom?
