00:00Tom, il floor is yours.
00:02Hi everyone, I am Tom Holland.
00:04You might recognize me as your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man
00:07and I am here to tell you that Spidey's back for an all new adventure
00:11in Spider-Man No Way Home.
00:12I know people say this a lot, but I mean it when I say that
00:16you're gonna see things in this movie that you've never ever seen before.
00:19I'm talking about Pumpkin Bombs, Sandstorms, the Multiverse,
00:25which, okay, you might have seen them before, but I promise, not like this and not together.
00:32Also, Peter Parker is finally heading off to college and the word is out.
00:35So yeah, everyone knows that he is Spider-Man.
00:39So throw your fan theories out the window, they're probably not true, or are they?
00:44And get ready to see one of the most ambitious films we've ever made.
00:47An incredible story with lots of heart, laughter, high-flying action,
00:51mind-blowing effects, and some insane villains.
00:54No Way Home is the culmination of the Homecoming trilogy
00:57and the start of a multiverse of possibilities.
01:00Now I have the honor of introducing some legends.
01:02Please enjoy this exclusive panel with my dear friends,
01:06Alfred Molina, Willem Dafoe, and Jamie Foxx here at CCXP.
01:11Whoa!
01:11Oh my god!
01:13This is amazing!
01:15What excited you most about returning to Spider-Man franchise
01:19and reprising these iconic roles?
01:22You know what? I was excited knowing Amy for years, man,
01:25and knowing what she's done with this franchise,
01:26and she was explaining to me it was going to be hot, you know?
01:29And I didn't have to be blue and things like that,
01:32as far as my character was concerned,
01:34so you're going to be a little more hip and whatever like that.
01:36And I get a chance to hang out with these...
01:39You told me! You told me!
01:41These incredible thespians.
01:43But, I mean, to walk on set, man, and to see these guys,
01:46I literally, like, bow to them, and we've just been having a ball.
01:49Willem, how about you?
01:51Willem?
01:52You know, when I heard it, I thought,
01:54well, that's pretty nutty.
01:56I got speared pretty good in the first film,
01:59but I thought, okay, they can figure out a way to bring me back.
02:02But it was really the pitch.
02:04And like Jamie, I know Amy's history.
02:08She walked me through it, and then John, the director,
02:12kind of pitched the whole idea before I read a script,
02:15and it sounded like a lot of fun and a good solution.
02:18And then when we went deeper into it,
02:20I liked the idea that I was returning to something
02:24that was same but different.
02:25It's a return to something I did before with that kind of history,
02:30but the spin, there's a spin on it.
02:32And that appealed to me.
02:35Alfred?
02:36For me, it's just about the money.
02:40Oddly enough, Willem and I were kind of joshing the other day
02:43about how 20 years since his first Green Goblin,
02:4717 years since my first time as Doc Ock,
02:50and these are the longest options that a studio has ever exercised on actors.
02:54You know, it's like we've been waiting.
02:55But it's the material, the pitch was excellent.
02:58And I, to be honest, when the idea was first suggested,
03:03my first thought was, hang on, I'm 17 years older.
03:07I've got chins.
03:08I've got wrinkles.
03:09You know, I mean, what are they going to do?
03:11And then, of course, I suddenly realized, wait a minute,
03:14they've got the technology.
03:16This isn't going to be a problem.
03:17But it's been very nice to come back to something that is familiar,
03:22but at the same time completely new,
03:24because the technology has moved on phenomenally
03:27since in the last couple of decades.
03:29And so that's, it's kind of still exciting.
03:33How did it feel to put the costume back on?
03:37You want to know the truth?
03:40Nobody knows how uncomfortable those costumes are.
03:44But they look good.
03:46We are actors.
03:47You forget about the discomfort.
03:49And, you know, it's part of it.
03:53But the costumes are much more comfortable than they were before.
03:57I remember the initial fitting to create the costume for the Green Goblin.
04:04I stood there for eight hours and they put different preformed pieces on me.
04:10Now, they scan me and they can design it
04:14and then make the costume and then try it on me.
04:18It's a huge leap in the technology.
04:21And they're more flexible.
04:23We can do more things with them.
04:26Also, I don't know how much we want to fool with spoilers, but...
04:31Oh, we love spoilers.
04:32The look's a little different.
04:35Old Norman and the Goblin are further down the line
04:38and they have a few more tricks up their sleeve.
04:41So it's not an exact...
04:43There have been upgrades on the costume, let's say.
04:47Alfred, how about you?
04:49Yeah, well, the main difference between that film and this one
04:53is that the tentacles are all kind of CG now.
04:58They'll all be superimposed on me at a later date.
05:01Whereas in the original movie, they were mechanical and I had them, like,
05:05you know, attached to me and we had puppeteers working them and stuff.
05:08So that's the big difference.
05:10But it's just a great story.
05:11It's a wonderful... and it's a wonderful world to be in.
05:14And, you know, we're having, you know, if I say so myself, we're having a lot of fun.
05:18A lot of fun.
05:19Jamie?
05:20I'm happy we got a brand new start.
05:23A brand new look.
05:25The blue, when we did it the first time, it was...
05:28Look, look, man, I didn't care.
05:30I was just happy to be in this wonderful chorus.
05:32And it was like you said, it was, you know, sort of like two or three hours or whatever like
05:37that.
05:38But with this, this new new is fly.
05:41The homies is like, okay, now, okay, we get you now.
05:43You know, when I was blue, they still roll with me.
05:45Okay, you blue.
05:47But with this one, it just feels more comfortable.
05:51And I think it feels more today, modern.
05:55Like, you know, not trying so hard.
05:57Like, I sort of related to R&B.
05:59Back in the day, R&B used to have to have fringes on your outfit and, you know,
06:05and like shoulder pads and things like that.
06:07Now you can just, you can sing, you know?
06:09So it's like, now we're just singing.
06:11What do you love most about portraying a villain?
06:13The thing about grounded villains is that, and that's what's so wonderful about the villains in the Marvel Universe, if
06:21you like,
06:22is that so many of them become villains almost reluctantly, almost in spite of themselves.
06:27You know, an accident happens or some terrible tragedy and it transforms them.
06:32And that's what makes them very playable.
06:35Because it's not just mustache twirling.
06:37There's some real depth to it.
06:39And that's, that's what makes them interesting.
06:41I mean, in a lesser environment, us as villains, we would just be functionaries.
06:46We would just be there to, you know, get the plot going.
06:49But here we've got real storylines.
06:51We've got back, you know, they are real people.
06:54And so, you know, it's a...
06:56Green Goblin has a case to state this time.
07:00Yeah.
07:01He's trying to make his case.
07:03A philosophy of life.
07:05It's not just about some kind of abstract muscle twirling powergram.
07:10It's about...
07:11Are you suggesting I'm a muscle twirling powergram?
07:13Now, look here.
07:14I'm classically trained.
07:16But now a tricky one.
07:18Which villain is the most terrifying?
07:20Oh man, it's crazy.
07:21It's crazy because like I said, we've just been watching Willem and it seems personal.
07:29Because with Electro, it's like Electro and us, it's to the world.
07:33The world did me wrong.
07:35But when something is personal, and you can go all the way back to Shakespeare.
07:39When something is personal, either that jealous thing, there's nothing that can beat that.
07:44No matter what costume you put on.
07:46No matter what you say.
07:46So when he speaks, he has the power.
07:50And I think you really...
07:51But I'm being right though.
07:54Okay, sweet, sweet.
07:55I'm getting embarrassed.
07:55Like here's the thing.
07:56Sounds good to me.
07:57But here's the thing.
07:58But if I was blowing smoke, he'd know it.
08:00Here's the thing.
08:01It's personal.
08:02And anytime you can get a character to be personal in a movie, it has the most weight.
08:06So CCXP is a fan event.
08:09Is there anything you'd like to say to your Brazilian fans?
08:12Well, I mean, if I may speak purely for myself, I think there is at some level, because
08:18we're professional people, there is some level where we don't want to let them down.
08:23You know, we want to give them something that is going to be worth their while.
08:27But the fact that a huge percentage of the audience are comic book fans who know this world,
08:34they love the detail, they love the kind of the inside baseball of it all.
08:39I think that's important to us as well, because, you know, we want to...
08:42We don't want to disappoint that side of the storytelling either.
08:46And so I think it's a sort of symbiotic relationship really.
08:50You know, they give us the chance to give them what they want.
08:53And that's...
08:54I've got to tell you, it's just so much fun.
08:56Whoa!
08:57Thanks, guys.
08:58Thank you.
08:58Thanks.
