(Giulia Perona - Luca Lemma)

00:00So, after all these years, what it feels like to step in back into JD's and Turt's shoes?
00:05What kind of men are they today?
00:09They're grown men.
00:12When you first met Turk and JD, they were pretty much kids.
00:16And now they're grown and have so much responsibility and embrace it through their friendship.
00:25And so, yeah, they're grown.
00:28They're adults.
00:29They're responsible.
00:31But they are funny, too.
00:33Always.
00:34I mean, they're still Turk and JD or JD and Turk, however you put it.
00:37JD and Turk.
00:38I say Turk and JD.
00:39And JD.
00:43And so, was there a moment when it really hit you that you were back in that world?
00:51Yeah, well, we rebuilt.
00:53You know, we used to shoot in an abandoned hospital that has been knocked down for many years.
00:57So, we rebuilt this hospital on stage.
01:02Just a perfect recreation.
01:04So, that was a really surreal experience to walk on to the old place where we spent a decade of
01:12our lives.
01:13And see it fully recreated, you know, down to the murals on the wall, to the lighting, to the color
01:21palette.
01:23It's an experience I imagine most people would never have in their lives to see something that was so important
01:29to them that's now gone and then walk into it and it's fully recreated.
01:33So, that was really magical.
01:35And we wanted to do that for the fans.
01:36Part of the nostalgia of the show was to bring them back into the exact same space that they knew
01:43and loved so much.
01:44You know, I have moments in my life that are very surreal moments for me.
01:50And when you said that, you know, I always remember, and this is how it always happens, you're on set,
01:56but then you look up and you see this giant, you see the lights, you see this giant ceiling, you
02:03see that you're on this huge stage and everything like that.
02:06And that's when it hit me where I was like, we did it, we're back, you know, when we got
02:10to, when we got to the set and saw everything and how grand it was and how real it was,
02:17it just was like, that's when everything got really real.
02:21It sounds amazing.
02:23And how was your first Eagle movement?
02:27The Eagle?
02:27The Eagle round.
02:28Yeah.
02:29The Eagle is easy for us as in real life.
02:33Donald finds it very important to let the fans know that...
02:36My back is strong.
02:38That Donald as an actor can handle my weight, but he had to act like Turk couldn't handle it.
02:45He wants everyone to know that he's very strong and virile and he can easily lift 170 pounds.
02:55The revival introduces also a new group of interns and did you see them as a bit of a younger
03:04you or you feel like you are like a mentor in both on screen and in real life?
03:12Absolutely.
03:13Yeah, that's a double question actually that actually is yes for both.
03:17You know what I mean?
03:17I do feel like Amanda, who plays Dishana on the show, is kind of a younger Turk, but also we're
03:26also mentors and she's an individual also, but that's the other thing.
03:32Yeah, we're mentors to these kids.
03:34In both ways, like you asked in your question, I think we're both giving them, the characters are giving them,
03:41being mentors to them.
03:43And then these young people, first of all, what's so crazy is both Amanda and Ava are 25 years old.
03:50When the show aired, they were born.
03:52They were born in 2000, which is just crazy.
03:55But yeah, they're all very green and wide-eyed.
03:59So we are mentoring them in real life, too, as actors saying, hey, here's how we do the show.
04:06Here's how we behave on set.
04:07Here's how we treat everyone.
04:08And also, your lives are about to change substantially.
04:13And we've been through this and sort of giving them some advice on how to navigate that big life change.
04:19Amanda even had, this is what really kicked it off for me.
04:22Amanda even has a monologue in the first episode that's very similar to Turk's monologue to J.D. in the
04:29original pilot, where she's like, yo, I'm here, and I don't know what to do.
04:36And I came because you're here, but I don't know what to do.
04:40And Turk had the same type of monologue in the first one, where he was like, it looks like I'm
04:44happy.
04:45It looks like I know what I'm doing.
04:46But if you pulled my mask down, I'm like this.
04:49You know what I mean?
04:49And it's kind of the same monologue, like, you know, I need guidance.
04:53I need someone.
04:55And, yeah.
