00:12Venezuela's acting president is a meeting at the Miraflores Palace with a diplomatic mission that will represent the country in
00:18the United States.
00:23A group of 26 progressive mayors from the Chilean metropolitan area expressed their concern over rising fuel prices.
00:34Iran launched the 88th wave of attacks against Israeli and U.S. targets and once again denies U.S. claims
00:39regarding the existence of dialogue between its countries.
00:49Hello, welcome from the South. I'm Luis Alberto Matos from Derezo Studios in Caracas, Venezuela. We begin with the news.
01:09Venezuela's acting president, Derezo Rodriguez, led a meeting at the Miraflores Palace with a diplomatic mission that will represent the
01:15country in the United States.
01:16This week, a Venezuelan diplomatic delegation will depart for Washington to formally initiate relations with the United States, marking a
01:23new phase of bilateral dialogue through this mission.
01:26Venezuela reaffirms its commitment through fostering a constructive dialogue aimed at promoting economic development and political stability, reinforcing its Bolivarian
01:34diplomacy of peace on the international stage.
01:37During the meeting, acting president, Derezo Rodriguez was joined by Foreign Minister Ivan Hill and Venezuela charged affairs to the
01:43U.S. Félix Placencia.
01:51And the media outlet El Español attempts to accuse Venezuela of being part of an alleged irregular financing of the
01:58Spanish Socialist Workers Party.
01:59In its context, on Monday, Venezuela's state-owned oil and gas company, PDVSA, issued a statement denouncing this unfounded accusation
02:06and defamatory campaign.
02:08The document stated, PDVSA clarifies that it has never delivered or authorized the delivery of any envelope or document to
02:15any person linked to the referred events, including Vector Aldama.
02:18Likewise, it is completely false that any oil quota was negotiated with Jose Luis Ábalos at Barajas Airport or in
02:25any other location.
02:26The statement adds that it is a delirious and injurious falsehood that PDVSA set a supposed oil quota equivalent to
02:33250 million euros, neither for the Spanish Socialist Party nor the Socialist International, nor for any member of the political
02:42organization.
02:43The document concludes that PDVSA reserves the right to take legal action in defense of the truth and the prestige
02:49of the company of all Venezuelans.
02:57And on Tuesday in Venezuela, the ordinarization of the National Assembly approved a series of appointments to official positions in
03:04the country and announced the extension of the Special Monitoring Commission for the Amnesty Law for Democratic Coexistence.
03:10The President of the National Assembly, Jorge Rodriguez, proposed to Parliament a 30-day extension for the Special Commission to
03:16continue operating and this proposal was approved unanimously.
03:20In this scenario, the appointment of Rubén Darío Molina as Venezuela's Ambassador to Nicaragua was also authorized, as well as
03:26the appointment of Ramón Orlando Maniglia as Ambassador to Colombia.
03:30In addition, the National Assembly approved Deputy Mervyn Maldonado to assume the presidency of the Great Mission Return to the
03:36Homeland, the State Strategic Program for the Return and Comprehensive Protection of Venezuelan Nationals Abroad.
03:43They also appointed lawyer Ariane Isejo as Attorney General of the Republic.
03:57Ariane Isejo Noguera is a graduate of the Central University of Venezuela and has a solid international education, including two
04:04master's degrees and a doctorate from the University of Westminster School of Law in London.
04:08Her professional career combines experience in both public and private sectors. Prior to her appointment, she served as legal counsel
04:15for the state-owned company Petroleos de Venezuela.
04:18Previously, she served as an external advisor at the same attorney general's office she now leads, which gives her prior
04:24knowledge of the institution.
04:31And this Wednesday, China's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Lin Jian, said that his country strongly condemns the kidnapping of Venezuelan President
04:39Nicolás Maduro and Congresswoman Celia Flores.
04:41For Beijing, the U.S. government's actions is a blatant violation of the UN Charter and the fundamental norms governing
04:47international relations.
04:50The forcible capture of a head of state by the United States clearly violates the purposes and principles of the
04:58UN Charter, breaches international law and the fundamental norms of international relations, and China firmly opposes such actions.
05:05We stand in support of Venezuela in safeguarding its sovereignty, dignity and legitimate rights.
05:13And the Chinese officials also condemned the over 60-year U.S. blockade on Cuba and the recent strengthening of
05:19the coercive measure.
05:20Lin Jian added that China calls for the immediate lifting of the U.S. blockade and sanctions against Cuba.
05:28The United States has maintained a comprehensive blockade and illegal sanctions against Cuba for over 60 years, causing severe hardship
05:35for the Cuban people.
05:36China firmly opposes these unilateral sanctions and fully supports Cuba in following a development path suited to its national conditions,
05:45protecting its sovereignty and security, and resisting external interference.
05:50We urge the United States to immediately lift its blockade and sanctions and to stop exerting pressure on Cuba under
05:57any pretext.
05:58This is also the strong goal of the international community.
06:02The United States has maintained not simply for the UN Charter's
06:24job to deliver aei-base granddaughter than China.
06:32intervention and the forced exile of artists were part of a systematic policy aimed at
06:37eliminating any expression considered subversive.
06:39Let's learn more in the following work.
06:46Decree number 3155 of October 1976 sets as its objective to restore the values of Christian
06:53morality, national tradition, and human dignity under this framework in the so-called censors
06:59draft lists of prohibited materials.
07:01The Federal Broadcasting Committee banned more than 200 songs between 1978 and 1983.
07:07The site, Office of State Intelligence, prepared documents such as ideological backgrounds
07:12of national and foreign artists and compiled blacklists of musicians, 285 names in 1979,
07:20331 in 1980, and 46 in 1982.
07:25Miguel Paulino Tato, head of the Film Rating Board, was responsible for censoring more than
07:30700 films.
07:31Director Raimundo Gleiser and Enrico Juárez have been missing since 1976.
07:36In 1981, Teatro Abierto was founded in response to the region's suppression of Argentine Theatre,
07:42two days before its premiere at the Picadero Theatre.
07:45The venue was the target of an arson attack allegedly carried out by the Navy.
07:49In 2013, the Ministry of Defense discovered classified documents from the military junta that includes
07:56blacklist naming 331 intellectuals and artists who had been persecuted.
08:02Each person was classified into categories from F1 to F4 based on their level of danger.
08:13We have our first break, we're going to be right back.
08:36Welcome back.
08:36This Tuesday, a group of 26 progressive mayors from the Chilean metropolitan area expressed
08:41their concern over rising fuel prices.
08:44Local leaders warned that these increases directly impact the costs of municipal services such
08:48as transportation, garbage collection, and the maintenance of public spaces, particularly
08:52affecting the most vulnerable families.
08:54In a letter sent to President José Antonio Cas, they noted that some government measures such
08:59as tax cuts for higher income sectors do not address the current crisis.
09:03Therefore, they propose suspending tax cuts, strengthening the fuel stabilization mechanism,
09:07supporting public transportation, and compensating municipalities for their operating expenses.
09:17And in Colombia, the number of deaths rose to 69 following the crash of an Air Force plane
09:22in the Department of Putumayo.
09:23The incident, which also left 57 people injured, occurred when a Hercules C-130 plane suffered an
09:29accident while taking off from Puerto Leguizamo in the southwest of the country.
09:33On board were 126 people, including crew members and passengers from the National Army,
09:38the Colombian Airspace Force, and the National Police.
09:46In this context, Colombian President Gustavo Petro declared three days of mourning following
09:50a plane crash that killed 69 military officers.
09:52During the cabinet meeting, the Colombian President raised questions about the purchase of obsolete
09:56equipment for national defense, which directly impacts the operational efficiency of the armed
10:01forces.
10:01In this context, the head of state discussed the country's role in the international fight
10:05against drugs and the impact this has had on Colombia's youth.
10:09Finally, he announced that the military will begin operating with new weapons, which will
10:12be purchased from other countries while weapons are being fabricated in the country.
10:21What were those boys who died doing?
10:30One asks, and those who didn't die, why were they there?
10:37Why were they boarding a Hercules plane in such large numbers?
10:45To take a break, that was the goal because they had already been working hard in the region,
10:54following their orders, but what is fundamentally done in that region is fighting drug trafficking.
10:59On the border with Ecuador, one of the areas with the greatest capacity for cocaine production
11:08in the world, and that is where they were, in other words, what these young people were
11:21doing was helping the United States not to consume so much cocaine, and that is a first point
11:28of analysis, both the southern neighbor and the northern neighbor say.
11:35We are not doing enough.
11:41But the only ones who die are Colombian youth by the hundreds.
11:51President Gustavo Petro noted that the United States prefers the extradition of drug lords
11:56to the eradication of crops.
12:04We Colombians are making sacrifices, and even a southern president dares to insult me all
12:10day long because that's how he solves his problems.
12:17Violence in Ecuador doesn't come in from the north, so let's bring in the police.
12:22Let's bring in the homicide rate statistics for the cities.
12:27Listen, we in Pujumeo have managed to lower the homicide rates.
12:35Is that right, Minister of Defense?
12:40Let's bring in the police.
12:40But now they want to throw that away.
12:42I asked the lady from the U.S. Embassy what she prefers, that we eradicate 15,000 hectares
12:49of coca leaves, or extradite Orana, and quickly, she didn't even think twice, being extradited
12:58to Orana, so what do they care about?
13:00Discussion, of course, because they can deceive us.
13:07A series of very strange events have occurred at the border that need to be investigated.
13:32In Mexico, the Spring and Ornamental Flower Festival 2016 strengthened bonds between the community
13:37and local biodiversity with gigantic flower sculpture of Teporingos.
13:45In Mexico City, the Spring and Ornamental Flower Festival was held with a series of giant sculptures
13:51shaped like the Teporingo, a small native rabbit in danger of extinction.
13:58We are welcoming Spring, bringing flowers from conservation into the heart of the city, and
14:02here we see Teporingos, two small ones and one monumental, made of flowers.
14:07Why did we choose Teporingos?
14:09Because Teporingos are an endemic animal of this area, of the volcanic region of Mexico City,
14:14which it shares with the state of Mexico and Morelos.
14:17It is an endangered species that lives in mountainous areas.
14:25This species faces several threats, including predators, urban expansion, deforestation,
14:30and other issues that have reduced its habitat and caused a decline in its numbers.
14:35The delicate floral pieces were created with the aim of highlighting the Teporingo as a symbol
14:40of the city, promoting local products, and positioning the city as a leader in the protection of native
14:45species.
14:49We want to highlight them because they are a species that identifies us as Chulangos.
14:53It is something that defines us and does not exist anywhere else in the world, or anywhere
14:57else in the country.
14:58So here, in downtown Mexico City, this is a tribute to the Teporingos and to the biodiversity
15:04of the city's conservation lands.
15:10The event was part of a broader government strategy aimed at highlighting the importance of
15:14conservation land as a source of resources.
15:17Each flower and plant displayed during the activities was a reflection of the effort of
15:21families dedicated to floriculture, who keep agricultural and ornamental production active
15:26in the conservation area.
15:29It is very important that they celebrate this kind of festival because we have seen that
15:33flower prices are very affordable, in some cases even cheaper than in Xochimilco, and they
15:38are often more expensive due to transportation, so it is worth coming, buying, and promoting
15:43this for both national and international tourism.
15:49With the participation of more than 50 producers from Xochimilco and Trehuac, and more than 10,000
15:54plant species, the Spring and Ornamental Flower Festival 2026 established itself as a meeting
16:00space between producers, citizens, and nature in the heart of Mexico City.
16:09Now for our second break, don't go away.
16:37Welcome back.
16:38Iran is stepping up its defensive operations as well as ground attacks and confirms a strike
16:43against the U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.
16:46The Virginian forces claim that President Trump calls his defeats an agreement.
16:50At Don this Wednesday, Operation True Promise 4 launched the 88th wave of attacks against
16:55Israeli and U.S. targets in the Gulf.
16:57The first round of missiles was erected at facilities in the north of the occupied territory used by
17:01Zionism to massacre the Lebanese people.
17:03The following waves struck cities such as Chamonah, Bnei Brak, and Tel Aviv.
17:09The military escalation is a response to Israeli and U.S. aggressions.
17:13While oil prices are skyrocketing, various nations around the world are feeling the impact of
17:17lubricating the Strait of Hormuz under the control of Iranian forces.
17:21The Persian Army's Public Relations Office confirmed that around noon this Wednesday, shoreline
17:26cruise missiles struck the U.S. aircraft carrier Abraham Lincoln.
17:34And German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier described the U.S. and Israeli attacks against
17:39Iran as illegal and considered them a violation of international law.
17:43During a speech in Berlin, the President stated that these actions not only violate international
17:47law but also constitute a political mistake that could have been avoided.
17:51He also defended the nuclear agreement signed with Iran in 2015, noting that its goal was precisely
17:56to avoid conflict.
17:58Steinmeier also emphasized the importance of respecting international law as the foundation of the global
18:02order and the functioning of Europe.
18:04In response, Iranian authorities welcomed his statements, considering this to be an unusual
18:08position among Western leaders.
18:17And polls revealed that the approval rating of U.S. President Donald Trump fell to 36 percent,
18:22the lowest result since he assumed the presidency for the second time in January 2025.
18:26The President's approval fell due to the continuation of the military aggression against Iran and the
18:31rise in oil prices.
18:32Additionally, the report revealed that only one-quarter of respondents approved of the Republican President's
18:37handling of the cost of living.
18:39The survey was conducted online over four days among 1,272 U.S. adults.
18:56And this Tuesday, the left-wing coalition led by Denmark's Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen won
19:01the parliamentary elections, although it did not secure the majority needed to govern alone.
19:06Right-wing parties won 77 seats at the sentries party.
19:09The moderates, with 14 representatives, could play a key role in forming the next government,
19:14as it has the power to tip the balance toward either of the two blocks.
19:17After the results were announced, various political leaders agreed that there is no clear
19:21majority, which foreshadows a period of negotiations to reach agreements that will allow for the formation
19:25of a government.
19:26In this way, the country is heading toward a new phase marked by dialogue and the search for consensus
19:30to define the course of the next executive branch.
19:39North Korean Supreme Leader Kim Jong-un stated that his country's nuclear status is irreversible
19:44and that it will continue to strengthen its military capabilities.
19:47The statement was made during a speech before the Legislative Assembly in Pyongyang, one day
19:52after he was re-elected as chairman of the State Affairs Commission.
19:55In his speech, the North Korean leader noted that his government will continue to strengthen
19:59its nuclear capabilities for deterrence and self-defense in a context he described as one of external threats.
20:05Furthermore, Kim Jong-un described South Korea as the most hostile state and warned that
20:09they would respond firmly to any action they consider a provocation.
20:18In China, national geologists have discovered the world's second largest rare earth deposit in the southwest of the country.
20:24The new deposit is now the second largest in the world, surpassed only by the Bayan Obo mining district
20:29located in the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region in northern China.
20:33Local mayor report that Beijing dominates the production of at least 50 minerals, including gallium,
20:38magnesium, tungsten, and at least 69.2% of rare earth.
20:42It is also stated that the discovered minerals include at least 27 million tons of fluorite
20:48and more than 37 million tons of barite, which are key sources of industrial fluorine.
