00:02Hi, my name is Hayley. I'm a lorry driver. I'm from Derbyshire, the Peak District.
00:08I've been driving lorries for about seven years. I'm 4'8". I'm going for the Guinness World Records
00:14but the world's smallest lorry driver. The record at the minute is 155cm and I'm 140cm,
00:20so it'll be quite a lot.
00:26I love lorry drivers, I've been addicted to buy it. My dad was a lorry driver, my uncle's
00:31a lorry driver, my cousin's a lorry driver, my granddad was a lorry driver. So the reason
00:37I became a lorry driver in the first place is because I got hit by a lorry in my little
00:43mini. It spun me in the motorway, so then it put me off driving on motorways for a while
00:49and I'm going near a lorry. So my cousin, who's a lorry driver, he says to me, why don't
00:54you come out with my lorry with me? So I did and I enjoyed it, I loved it.
01:08To get clothing for going in and out of the quarries, you have to have Orange Arby's.
01:14I did once end up with a child's play set, Fireman Sam. A lot of places you ring up and
01:20they ask, can they make me something? And they say, you shouldn't be sending your kids
01:24to work at that age, it's like, it's for me. But really, having such little feet, I don't
01:30think much is going to drop on. The hours are long, but I keep myself fit by doing a lot
01:35of dog walking at weekends. I don't eat out of the lorry driver's caffs that you see them
01:41in all the time, or service stations. I tend to make a lot of my own food if I'm nighting
01:45out. I get a lot of criticism, ask where's your dad when I climb out of a lorry. People
01:50stare. People want photos all the time, they don't believe that I'm driving it. I've had
01:55people taking photos of me before going all over the internet saying, are these drivers
01:59getting younger? Probably old enough to be half of their mothers.
