00:00Hi, I'm Claire Scott-Ovington. I started my weight loss journey about five years ago.
00:06Basically, I was very unhappy at my biggest size. I was very uncomfortable.
00:10I used to hide away from cameras, particularly photographs of my children.
00:14There are very few memories and photographic evidence of me playing with my children when they were little
00:19because I just didn't want to be in front of the camera.
00:22But obviously, as time went on, I thought, you know what, this isn't a happy, healthy life.
00:27So I decided to do something about it.
00:35I joined my local leisure centre. I also decided that I needed to improve my diet.
00:42So I got straight onto it and basically just chipped away at it over the years.
00:48I've stuck with healthy eating, cardio, weight training and just generally just improved my overall health.
00:58It's made me a happier, healthier mum. I play with the kids more. I do more energetic stuff.
01:05I've took part in races since I've been at the lower weight.
01:11It also means that I can take part in more activities with my children.
01:14We can run around the field. We can play football. I'm not pacing behind them out of breath.
01:20So it's been a fantastic journey, really.
01:22I found some fabulous friends along the way from my life, from my gym, who are firm and fast friends
01:29and have been from pretty much the beginning of the journey.
01:32So they've always supported me. The coaches here have been fabulous.
01:38So it's really all happy ending. I've been at maintenance now for a little while.
01:43I'm quite comfortable within it. I still have not treats and naughty days, as everybody does,
01:49because it's all about healthy living and moderation is what I've learned in my journey.
01:54So it's all good.
