00:00Hi, it's Larry here from Xbox Live's Major Nelson, here to give you a closer look at the redesigned home
00:05on Xbox One.
00:06Now, this fall we're going to transform Xbox One with a fully redesigned user experience inspired by fan feedback and
00:13built on Windows 10 that makes it much faster to get to your content.
00:17Here with me is Richard Irving from the engineering team. Richard, good to see you.
00:20Always great to be here.
00:21Today we're going to talk about the home screen. Tell us about the home screen.
00:24Well, so what you're seeing here is your new home on Xbox One, and it looks very familiar, but it's
00:30different in some very important ways.
00:32So you'll notice the thing you've been doing most recently is still front and center on the screen.
00:37But what's changed is we've added the ability to scroll vertically and go deeper within your home screen to get
00:43to see the content that you care about.
00:45Explain to me what we're seeing as we scroll down.
00:47So just below what you've done most recently is the list of your most recently used games and apps.
00:53You've been playing some games here.
00:56You'll see that each entry is decorated with these contextual items to help you get to more information about that
01:02game faster.
01:03And then as you get to the bottom, if you have a disc and tray, that's where your disc and
01:06tray goes.
01:06And then you get to your My Stuff area.
01:09That's cool.
01:09Now, and then right here, I want to talk about pins.
01:12Previously, pins were over on the left-hand side, and now we see them down here.
01:16That's right.
01:17So we really wanted to dedicate every area on home to be very deeply and specifically about that category.
01:24So we moved pins to the bottom of home, just below your recently played games and apps.
01:30And this is where you find all of your movies and TV shows, the games that you like the most,
01:34and, of course, your collection to get to all of your games and apps, even if you haven't pinned them.
01:39And what's really cool is that you guys added a nifty shortcut so I can get right to my pins,
01:43right?
01:43That's right.
01:44So if you jump out of a game and you know what you want to do next is in your
01:49pins area, you just pull the right trigger on your controller, and you'll be transported directly to your pins area
01:55where you can launch your next game.
01:57Now, Richard, over here in the lower right-hand corner, I see this new box I've never seen before.
02:01What is that?
02:02Well, so that's tips and information.
02:05So when we release a new update with a host of good new features in the future, this is where
02:10you're going to go to find that information.
02:12As well, when you, as you use the new Xbox One experience over time, you're going to see tips that
02:18are going to improve your usage of it.
02:20So if you use your pins a lot, but you haven't actually used the right trigger to accelerate your path
02:27there, we're going to let you know, hey, right trigger does this, and hopefully make you more proficient and happier
02:32with the new Xbox One experience.
02:34Great. Thank you, Richard.
02:35We're looking forward to launching the fastest Xbox One experience in November.
02:39Can't wait to hear what you think.
02:39I'm Larry here of Xbox Live's Major Nelson.
02:41Thanks for watching.
