The Hawaiian Humane Society saved animals from waist-deep floodwaters after a second Kona low hammered the state with intense rain.

00:00Recovery continues across Hawaii after that second Kona storm brought widespread flooding to the islands.
00:06Flood concerns do remain and flood alerts are still in effect for the Big Island and Maui.
00:11Now, new video from Army Black Hawk crew shows the extent of the flooding as they continue to conduct damage

00:17I mean, take a look at that. Multiple roads damaged or washed out and hundreds of homes have been damaged
00:23along with some schools and hospitals.
00:25Now, schools in Oahu won't reopen until at least Friday, according to Hawaii Department of Education officials.
00:32Animal rescues are also continuing across the islands.
00:36Crews with the Hawaiian Humane Society have reached evacuation zones, rescuing dozens of dogs and cats from the floodwaters.
00:43Video shows several cats that were found in a flooded structure in waist-deep water.
00:48Those rescued animals will now undergo medical evaluation before being put up for adoption.
