00:00What was the lab process behind bringing in new leadership at special teams?
00:04You know, I think just the availability to get somebody that we felt like could come in and make a
00:09difference.
00:10Somebody that had a little bit different, a little bit different background in terms of kind of their coaching pedigree.
00:18And I think when we evaluated it, there's certainly been some areas here that we've been really strong special teams
00:25wise.
00:25And then there's been some areas that have held us back that we obviously need to do better, just plain
00:30and simple.
00:30And we felt like the combination of Coach Eckler and Coach Doherty would be pretty tough to beat.
00:35I mean, our specialists here, you know, which has been the chief thing that Coach Doherty has been involved with.
00:41I mean, we've had Ray Guy winners.
00:42We've had Brian Sarri takes over and does a phenomenal job.
00:46We could probably have the best one-two kicker combination maybe in college football right now.
00:50And you look at what Coach Eckler has done in his career on top of being able to be involved
00:55defensively and coach a position there made sense.
00:59It was just something for us that was looking to improve.
01:02And then also, I think, just realizing that as that process went on that we had the opportunity to get
01:07somebody that we thought could come in here and make a difference in our program.
