Transcript
00:00Lincoln, what was behind the slow start, as you saw it?
00:04Yeah, we just, we didn't play very sharp early.
00:07I didn't think we, you know, we didn't tackle very good on the first drive.
00:11You know, there weren't a lot of explosive plays, just didn't tackle very good.
00:14You know, offensively, we were just a little bit out of sync.
00:18Just, we kind of took turns.
00:20You know, we missed some big opportunities that we typically make, pretty routine.
00:26And then it had some really untimely penalties that set us back.
00:32And so, you know, and against a good defense on a night like this, I mean, you definitely don't want to make your job harder when we did that.
00:38And so, but we rallied, you know, I mean, we obviously settled in defensively and played an outstanding game.
00:43And offensively, we were able to get it done when it mattered.
00:47How do you feel you guys performed just overall against Evan Johnson, the Nebraska run?
00:51He's a good player.
00:53You know, he got loose a couple of times.
00:55I mean, I thought, we'll look at the tape and want to have tackled better, but our pursuit and the fact that when we missed one,
01:03we typically got him down pretty quick after that, I thought was huge.
01:06And that's what you got to do against a really good running back, right?
01:09The first guy, as much as you want it to happen, is not always going to get him down.
01:13And if your pursuit, your effort, your angles are correct, if you're leveraging the ball,
01:17then you're going to have a chance to put a lid on those runs and, you know, a 10-yarder doesn't turn into a 60-yarder.
01:25You know, and that's what we did a lot better tonight.
