China expands water management network under new five-year plan. This month, during the two sessions, China's strategic policies for the 15th five-year plan were defined, with national and local guidelines. Shanghai, one of the country's most important cities, is already planning its actions for the next five years, and our correspondent, Bruno Falci, brings us more details from there.

00:17Greetings comrades, here in Beijing I came to report that China has built the largest
00:23and most advanced water network in the world, which now covers more than 80% of its territory
00:32and guarantees an economic and social development for hundreds of millions of people.
00:39The socialist giant has tens of thousands of reservoirs and dams with a record capacity at global level.
00:49During the 14-5-year plan, more than 180 water infrastructure projects were built
00:58with an investment of around $825,000 million, consolidating supply in rural areas
01:11where coverage reached today 96% of the population.
01:15Thanks to this network, the water reached SAFE across all the regions of the country.
01:23During the 15-5-year plan, China will continue to promote strategic projects,
01:29including the water drainage and the restoration of digital management systems,
01:36incorporate advanced technologies such as rain radars and multipurpose drones.
01:43Furthermore, they will be expanding in the ecological management of rivers and reservoirs
01:53and the strengthening as part of a sustainable development strategy.
01:58These advances will allow to maintain efficiency in the use of water
02:05and ensure the food productions and projects to the ecosystem of all China,
02:11strengthening the water and food security of the socialist giant for the next five years.
