00:04NASA may have just brought back the Orion spacecraft after it took the scenic route around the moon recently.
00:09All in preparation of the first manned mission in over 50 years.
00:13But now in a first for the country, South Korea's lunar orbiter Denuri has reached the moon as well,
00:17and it has begun to send back photos for the world to see.
00:20The spacecraft was launched with the help of a SpaceX rocket way back in August,
00:23and finally entered lunar orbit in December, and it's getting up close and personal.
00:27Denuri has been orbiting at a low 75 miles, capturing incredible photos like this one,
00:32looking almost like it has taken them from the surface of the moon,
00:35and its proximity also lets it speed around the moon quickly as well.
00:38Denuri is currently orbiting once every two hours.
00:41The mission is all part of South Korea's big plans for the near future with regards to the moon and
00:46beyond.
00:46They're looking to begin mapping the lunar surface next month,
00:49trying to find a place to land humans by the year 2032,
00:52with the eventual goal of shipping South Korean astronauts to Mars by 2045.
00:57So, let's take a minute.
