00:04you've probably seen one of Boston Dynamics robots before like their iconic yellow spot bot or their
00:09humanoid robot Atlas but you've never seen the latter like this this video was recently released
00:15by the company not just showing off some serious skills a robot can perform but also the applications
00:20of such an automaton at first it seems basic enough the robot picking up a plank and laying
00:24it across a gap between the scaffolding and some boxes but then things get interesting Atlas grabs
00:29a heavy tool bag and bounds up the boxes then navigates the narrow plank onto the scaffolding
00:34it then jumps and tosses the heavy bag up to the worker pretty impressive but not half as amazing
00:39as what happens next the robot saunters over to the edge of a box and leaps off performing a multi
00:44-axis
00:45540 degree flip and a perfect landing according to Boston Dynamics the robot has 28 joints and is
00:51powered by an onboard battery and several electric motors it's certainly a first for humanoid robots
00:57with the five foot tall 190 pound machine flipping through the air and landing safely on the ground
01:02right along with our jaws
