00:00In today's video, I'm going to teach you how to customise projects in Asana.
00:04We'll be taking you through everything you need to know in just about five minutes,
00:08helping you tailor your workspace to fit your specific needs better.
00:12To get started, the first thing you want to do is head over to the Asana website.
00:16If you're not already logged in, you'll need to enter your email address.
00:20Make sure you use the email associated with your Asana account
00:22to ensure you have access to the right projects.
00:25Once you've entered your email, simply click on the continue button.
00:28You'll then be prompted to enter your password,
00:31so go ahead and do that and then click login.
00:33Now that you're logged in, you should find yourself on your Asana homepage.
00:37This is your command centre where you can navigate to different projects and tasks.
00:41From here, locate the project you wish to customise and click into it.
00:45This will take you to the project's main page
00:47where you can see all the tasks and features related to that project.
00:51At the top of your project page, look for the customise button.
00:54It's usually located on the right hand side.
00:56Clicking on this will open up a range of options for personalising your project.
01:01When the customisation panel is open, you'll see different options like fields.
01:05Click on fields to manage the custom fields available within your project.
01:09These fields help you track specific data points across your tasks.
01:13If the existing fields don't meet your needs, you can create new ones.
01:17Just click on create new to start building a new field.
01:20When creating a new field, think about what type of data you want to track,
01:24such as a due date, priority level or stage of a process.
01:28Once you've decided on the type of information to track,
01:31type in a field title that accurately represents this data,
01:34making it easy for you and your team to understand.
01:37After you've set up your field title,
01:39go ahead and click on create field to finalise your new field.
01:43These custom fields are an excellent way to streamline your process
01:46and ensure everyone on your team is on the same page.
01:49Back in the customised menu, you have additional options
01:52that allow further personalisation of your project.
01:54You can use forms to connect custom fields,
01:57which means you can gather consistent data from project submissions.
02:00You can also create rules to automate project workflows.
02:03For example, you might set up a rule to automatically assign tasks to certain team members
02:08based on project priorities or dates.
02:11This kind of automation can save a lot of time and keep everything running smoothly.
02:15As you'll see, Asana offers many more options
02:17for customising your projects precisely to your needs.
02:20Each one can help increase productivity and efficiency,
02:24making sure your team can focus on what's most important,
02:27getting things done.
02:28By the end of this tutorial, you should feel confident
02:30in starting to tweak your Asana projects to perfect your workflow.
02:34Thank you for watching and happy customising.
