00:01G'day battlers, we see you out there doing everything you can for your family and friends
00:07and we see where you've been living.
00:10That kitchen's had nothing done to it since World War II.
00:14We know times are tough, for too many hard working Aussies, it means putting your dream
00:19home on hold.
00:20I had plans for it but it just never happened.
00:23And that's where we come in.
00:27We are back.
00:28Hey Norm, over.
00:30Any drive-thru is an inverter, over.
00:32Bigger than ever.
00:33More battlers.
00:36More renovations.
00:38And more money.
00:40There's no more money, Norm.
00:43We are rolling up our sleeves to prove that big transformations don't need big bucks.
00:48I got her on Facebook Marketplace.
00:50She wanted $250, got her down $200.
00:53We've got just five days and $10,000.
00:58We're nice aren't just for the rich.
01:00To give deserving Aussies a home.
01:02Look, space.
01:04Oh.
01:08This is beautiful.
01:10That they can be proud of.
01:14Oh, no way.
01:16Better make me comfortable for the rest of my law.
01:19This is Budget Battlers.
01:20Oh no, we're crying already and we haven't even said anything.
01:26Tonight, the Budget Battler team tackle inside.
01:29Eight people living in this house with one shield.
01:32Outside.
01:33Hey buddy, what's happening?
01:35A shed.
01:36A caravan.
01:37Hi!
01:38David, how beautiful.
01:40In a makeover that makes a family smile again.
01:43Thank you so much.
01:45This is Budget Battlers.
02:01This is Dave and Jen.
02:04I've been married to this lovely lady for 38 years.
02:07She bought me a drink at the club.
02:11Yeah.
02:13I picked him up.
02:14Yeah, she picked me up and I was a local footballer and so it'd be.
02:18I never went home.
02:21That's about right.
02:22That's about right, yeah.
02:24And from that one drink at the local club, Galua and Milk, I believe,
02:29this is what they've created.
02:31This is the Trotter family.
02:34Dave and Jen, their two sons, Jake and Josh,
02:38their partners and their two grandkids with another on the way.
02:42Our kids have lived with us all our time.
02:45They've brought their partners in and now we've got our grandkids.
02:49They've got their own spaces and we've got our space,
02:51but having all your family together,
02:55to me, is number one.
02:59They all live together on a property on Jones Island,
03:02just out of Taree on the Manning River in New South Wales.
03:05When we bought this place, we fell in love with it, didn't we?
03:08Yeah.
03:08We bought this a bit over two years ago
03:11and because it's on the river, it was awesome.
03:13These guys are just crazy, bad fishermen.
03:16Every afternoon, Josh and Levi, who's the six-year-old grandson,
03:21he would take him down the back to the river and they'd fish
03:24and David would tag along as well, which was pretty cool.
03:26We have a son, my grandson.
03:28Yeah, it was pretty cool.
03:29Just live in the green, basically, yeah.
03:32In March this year, it started raining and it didn't stop.
03:37We had three days of constant rain.
03:41When there's rain on the coast and in the catchment areas,
03:43it's all got to come down, it can't go anywhere,
03:46so we just went up rather than out to sea.
03:50So, yeah, it was just basically a perfect storm.
03:53Not perfect for us.
03:54Not perfect for us, no.
03:55It was a tragedy for us, but as in flood-wise, yeah,
04:01it was a perfect storm.
04:03Taree, which is around three and a half hours north of Sydney,
04:06is right now experiencing its worst flooding event on record.
04:10The Manning River at Taree has now reached levels
04:13never seen before, Ali, since those records began back in 1929.
04:16This flood emergency, particularly in that region,
04:19is now proving to be even worse than those record-breaking floods
04:23that we saw back in 2021.
04:25The floods are the most surreal things you've ever dealt with.
04:29Like, you know, the water just comes up and you think,
04:32all of a sudden you've got nowhere to get out.
04:35You know?
04:36So then it's just like, we've got to get out ourselves.
04:39So we're lucky we had a couple of boats.
04:42Josh, our youngest, he's waded, like, up in, you know,
04:46chest-deep water to come over and get a boat.
04:49There's a small tinny so he can get it close to the house.
04:52You know, there's six adults, two young kids, four dogs.
04:56And we couldn't leave anyone, so...
04:59We climbed over the veranda of the house to actually get into the little boat,
05:03how high it was.
05:04Seeing the river the way it was, and the cattle and...
05:09Merwin and Karen on sort of thing going down the river,
05:11and you knew they didn't have a chance.
05:13Yeah.
05:14Yeah, where they...
05:15That was heartbreaking.
05:16Oh, it was very heartbreaking.
05:17It was just like a...
05:19Nearly a nightmare, but, you know, it happened.
05:22The flood couldn't have come at a worse time for Dave and his family.
05:28My father passed two weeks before the flood,
05:34which was a really bad way to go into the flood.
05:37And I was still trying to grieve,
05:39and the flood didn't come at a good time.
05:42We still hadn't organised anything for him.
05:46And, yeah, Liz and my dad was pretty hot.
05:50And it's still pretty hot.
05:54We lost, um, basically everything in the house,
05:57everything that was touching the ground.
05:59Um, so all of our appliances, um...
06:02We lost our lounges, beds.
06:05All my power tools, everything, all my hand tools, everything like that,
06:09I just...
06:09Yeah, it's either just mud affected, floated away.
06:13The family are known in the community for always helping out others.
06:17And now it's their turn.
06:19We don't feel that we deserve it.
06:22It's like...
06:22No.
06:22It's hard to think that people want to do this.
06:25That's right.
06:25It's just, yeah, it's hard for us to take.
06:27Because we're usually...
06:28We've always done everything for ourselves.
06:30We don't like to ask for help.
06:31No, don't ask.
06:32No, we don't ask for help.
06:33People usually ask us for help.
06:36Well, here on Budget Battlers,
06:38we like to help the ones who never ask for it.
06:41Coming up from the river this time,
06:43it's not flood, water and fear.
06:45It's the Budget Battler Group.
06:46Here to help and rebuild a home and a family
06:49so they can get back to what they do best,
06:52being together and casting a line or two.
06:55Can't put it into words.
06:57No.
06:57Like, what it means to us.
07:00Yeah.
07:04You know, like having people like yourselves and that
07:07to come and help.
07:09To do this.
07:09Yeah.
07:11Darling people,
07:12what you give back to everyone else
07:14is just out of this world.
07:17We are so privileged to be here today
07:19because what you've been through
07:21and what you've seen in the last couple of months,
07:23I don't know how you're still standing,
07:26being selfless and still being kind.
07:28And that's what being a battler is all about,
07:30is it's giving back in your lowest of times
07:32and not thinking about yourself.
07:34And sometimes that's got to come back to you.
07:36I'm sure you've been asked a million and one times,
07:40but are you OK?
07:42Yeah.
07:43We're OK.
07:44That's what all battlers say.
07:45Yeah.
07:46We've got each other.
07:47Keep soldiering on.
07:48We're doing it together.
07:49Yeah.
07:50Thank you for doing what you do
07:51for people in the community.
07:52And when the lowest was low,
07:54you're out there helping everybody else.
07:56And so we would like to let you know
07:59what it feels like
08:00to have people like you as friends
08:02and take over from your role
08:05and do something for you guys
08:07for the next five days.
08:09We may not have the biggest budgets,
08:11but these guys here,
08:13I've seen them in action
08:14and I've seen what they've done to people's lives.
08:16And they have the biggest bloody hearts.
08:19And that's something that you can't buy at a shop.
08:21We're hoping that you come in in five days' time
08:23and actually see the love
08:25that's gone into this joint,
08:27not just from us,
08:28but everyone around this area
08:30and this community.
08:31So we're looking forward to hooking in
08:34and finishing off what you've already started.
08:38We really appreciate it.
08:39Oh, you can't believe you're doing it for us.
08:42No.
08:43So would you mind?
08:44We would love you to come.
08:45We would love you to come.
08:46You beauty!
08:51Unbelievable.
08:52Unbelievable to have people turn up
08:54that we don't know to do this sort of stuff.
08:57Yes.
08:57Isn't it?
08:58Yep.
08:58It's, yeah, unreal.
09:01Very grateful.
09:02Very, very grateful.
09:03This doesn't sound very glamorous,
09:05but it's a budget battle away,
09:06but I've booked you an Airbnb in town.
09:10Loving it.
09:11I know it's not SeaWorld Resort,
09:13but if you do want to go to SeaWorld Resort
09:15or something,
09:15I'll just say,
09:16I've got a credit card,
09:17it's 55 days interest-free,
09:19I'll get it done.
09:20We've seen enough water.
09:21Oh, my God!
09:24Good day, man.
09:26No more water.
09:27No more water.
09:28Ha-ha!
09:37This week on Budget Battlers,
09:39we're in Jones Island,
09:41just out of Taree.
09:45Six months ago,
09:46floods ripped through this place.
09:48Taree is right now experiencing
09:50its worst flooding event on record.
09:53Destroying everything in its path,
09:54including the home of Dave and Jen.
09:58The local community have done a lot
10:00to start up the clean-up process,
10:03but we're here to finish it off
10:04and help them get their livelihood back.
10:07You can feel when people are hurting,
10:08and we're in a beautiful position
10:10where we can do something
10:12to make them feel better.
10:15Our mates at Storage King
10:16are once again on board,
10:18helping our homeowners stash away
10:20what little they've got left
10:21while we give this place
10:22the full makeover it deserves.
10:26Here's the plan.
10:27We want to clean up
10:28all the remaining mud and debris
10:29and give every room and space
10:31to spruce up.
10:32But the areas that will have
10:33the main focus
10:34are the front yard,
10:35which is the first thing you see
10:36when you drive up,
10:38the bathroom,
10:39and the one which is going to put
10:41a smile back on Dave's face,
10:42the shed.
10:43In the front yard,
10:44we're going to clear out
10:45the garden beds,
10:46add a fence and some turf.
10:48In the bathroom,
10:49we're going to make it way bigger,
10:50add a shower,
10:51and fancy it up
10:52with a feature wall.
10:53And in Dave's shed,
10:55we're going to remove
10:56all the muds
10:57so you can hopefully
10:57see the floor again,
10:59concrete the entrance
11:00so it's more accessible for him,
11:01and put in some seating
11:02and a bar
11:03so the family have
11:04an extra area to hang out.
11:06Here's the budget so far.
11:08The main focus
11:09has been adding some space
11:10and a shower
11:11to the bathroom inside,
11:12so I've allocated
11:13$3,000 for that.
11:15And the kitchen cupboard
11:16flat packs
11:16have come in at $1,500.
11:18Norm loves flat packs.
11:20He'll be stoked.
11:21Add $400 from Kennards
11:22to get some high-pressure washes,
11:24and we're just under $5,000.
11:26But it's early days,
11:27and it's a big job.
11:43This whole thing's coming out
11:45and going over there.
11:46Have we got bastards
11:47or anyone's in my booth?
11:49Lee and I are kicking things off
11:50inside the house.
11:51Luckily,
11:52a lot of fluorine's
11:53already been replaced
11:54since the floods.
11:55That's one less job for us.
11:58The kitchen cupboards
11:59need to be replaced
12:01with something fresh.
12:02We'll be replacing
12:03wardrobes and interior doors
12:05and giving the whole house
12:06a lick of paint.
12:08But first things first,
12:10we've got to start
12:11the demo on the bathroom.
12:13We've got less than five days
12:15to get it all done,
12:16so no mucking around.
12:19Eight people living in this house
12:21with one shower.
12:23Eight bums to wash per day
12:24if you average it out
12:25at one wash per day.
12:27I never really thought
12:28of it like that.
12:31Yeah, it's good timing
12:33because it's all rotten and wet,
12:34so perfect time to go and run out.
12:39Given the scale
12:40of the renovation,
12:41I've reached out
12:41to our investment mentor,
12:43Lachlan Vidler,
12:43for some expert advice
12:45to make sure every dollar
12:46is being spent
12:47in the right place.
12:48Look, here he comes now
12:49in his flash car.
12:51Hope he doesn't get bogged.
13:03I wasn't sure who it was,
13:04but then I realised
13:05that the car was far shardier,
13:07more expensive,
13:08and far more valuable
13:09than anything else.
13:09I said,
13:10oh yeah,
13:10the value guy's here.
13:11It's kind of like
13:11when the skip bin arrives,
13:12you know who it is
13:13as soon as they get there.
13:25It ain't just
13:26drive a Porsche
13:27into budget battlers
13:28like what happened
13:28to the old
13:28Nissan Navara style.
13:30Well, you'd have to
13:30hire a Nissan Navara
13:32to hide the Porsche.
13:39Excuse me, mate.
13:40Can I help you?
13:42I wanted to write you
13:43a ticket.
13:44For what?
13:45For you to show off.
13:48No, you earned it.
13:49Good deals.
13:52Come on.
13:53It's not budget
13:54battlers anymore.
13:55He wanted to give it to you.
14:00No, he doesn't
14:01because he heard
14:01what you said about his call.
14:03I was going to
14:03change my opinion
14:04there for a second.
14:05I know.
14:06This is the bathroom here
14:08that we're going to
14:09add to the house
14:09which is obviously
14:10six people in the house,
14:12one shower.
14:13Tell us the value
14:14added in this.
14:14I reckon this is
14:15like a no-brainer.
14:16Of course,
14:16it's a value add.
14:17It is so common
14:19that when you go
14:19and see a house,
14:20you've got a full bathroom
14:21but then you have the half
14:23which is usually
14:23just a toilet,
14:24exactly like what's here.
14:25But it can be really hard
14:27from a floor plan
14:28point of view
14:28to make it bigger
14:29to be able to turn
14:30into a full bathroom
14:31but with a bit
14:32of strategy here
14:33and probably a bit
14:35of good luck as well,
14:36we can obviously
14:37extend it out
14:37and now you take it
14:38from a one,
14:39one and a half
14:39bathroom house
14:40to two
14:40and the value
14:41that comes from that
14:42is literally unbelievable.
14:45So if you even wanted
14:46to buy a house, right?
14:47Yeah.
14:47To flip.
14:48Yeah.
14:48If you just purely
14:50did the floors
14:51and did this
14:52to the bathroom,
14:53would you be making money?
14:56100%.
14:56Yeah, right.
14:57100%.
14:58So if you put all
14:58of our time and effort
14:59into this and that
15:00and this,
15:00this is literally
15:01what you could do.
15:01Yeah.
15:02And it's that simple,
15:03right?
15:03You've got to know
15:04what you're doing
15:05but it's that simple.
15:06He's just handy to have
15:07and he's already
15:08got the runs
15:09on the board too.
15:10He's not just a yes guy,
15:12he's got a Porsche guy
15:13so you know
15:13that he's going
15:14to make the right decision.
15:15Do you own your Porsche
15:16out, right?
15:17Of course, Jess.
15:17Of course.
15:19Eight Lee bunks.
15:21Lots.
15:22Darlsons have dropped
15:23the gear off.
15:23We're on to go.
15:27Yeah, lift up.
15:32The amount of mud
15:33and rubbish
15:34even six months on
15:35is hard to believe.
15:42Hey, buddy.
15:43What's happening?
15:45Um...
15:45We're going to redo
15:46this whole shed.
15:47What are you going to do?
15:49Me and Caleb.
15:49Well, he likes to sit in here
15:51so...
15:53And he's
15:54just struggling
15:55to clean it up.
15:56Yeah, I totally understand that.
15:58This is where we can actually
15:59make the most amount of impact
16:01because
16:02it's not a flash, we know.
16:04We do this to lift spirits.
16:06So,
16:07I'm just going to scrub it up,
16:09organise it
16:10so that the next time
16:11he sits in here
16:12he's in a place
16:13where he can progress,
16:15not have to work out
16:16what he needs to do
16:16in order to get up
16:17to where he was before.
16:19This is where he spends
16:19the most amount of time
16:21and that you can tell
16:21that he's really struggling
16:22and we're just trying
16:23to get him out of it.
16:25Yeah.
16:26At least if he can walk in
16:27and I'll say,
16:27all your tools are boxed here,
16:28he can pick a shelf
16:29and start putting him back out
16:31wherever he wants.
16:32It's not about
16:34materialistic things.
16:35It's so much deeper than that.
16:36It's a whole bunch of strangers
16:37going,
16:38G'day mate,
16:39I've never met you before
16:40but I bet
16:42that we can get you
16:43in a good spot.
16:44So,
16:44wherever you go to a house,
16:46you're just like,
16:46let's have a crack at that.
16:47Worst comes to worst,
16:48you're just going to have
16:49a clay to shed.
17:22We're here in Jones Island
17:24just out of Tarbury,
17:25a community that's copped
17:26some of the worst floods
17:27on record.
17:28We got to the front gate
17:30and it was just mud
17:35all the way in.
17:37This week,
17:38we're lending a hand
17:39to the Trotter family,
17:40helping them get back
17:41on their feet.
17:42We decided to go
17:43a separate little tiny house
17:44that we've got here.
17:47So, yeah,
17:47that's us.
17:48Living on top of each other
17:50gets a little bit much
17:51but with a bit of space,
17:53it works in harmony.
17:54Three months before the flood,
17:56we just moved in
17:57and we were still paying off
17:58the credit card
17:58for the first fit out.
18:00So,
18:01unexpectedly to try
18:02and do it all again.
18:04Yep.
18:05It was...
18:06Drain the savings.
18:07Yeah.
18:08Everything we had,
18:09so,
18:11yep,
18:11do what you've got to do.
18:13They've always been the first
18:14to help everyone else in town
18:15and now it's their turn
18:16to get a bit of that
18:18kindness fag.
18:26You've got to watch her,
18:27not under that.
18:28There was a deck
18:28that was on the front
18:29of the tiny home.
18:30Swing this way a bit.
18:33Ah!
18:35And that washed away
18:36a little bit.
18:37Lots of munker
18:37got into that this morning
18:38and got it all ready
18:40and we lifted that back
18:41onto the front
18:41of the tiny home.
18:42No, no,
18:43lifted.
18:44Good job.
18:45Look,
18:45no heads.
18:46Brilliant.
18:47Come around.
18:48Just watch that stump
18:48under your foot
18:49coming around.
18:50What are you doing,
18:51Lawrence?
18:53I'm organising,
18:54mate.
18:54Go in.
18:55Go in.
18:56That's it.
18:57That's it.
18:57Beautiful.
18:58Love your work.
19:09What's he?
19:11You've got your
19:12showing off,
19:12buddy.
19:13Yeah,
19:13I didn't want it to smell
19:14just.
19:15Digging these holes,
19:16I was already sweating.
19:17Your scars,
19:18mate,
19:18what happened?
19:20This one?
19:20Your scratch,
19:21yeah.
19:22It was a crocodile.
19:23What?
19:24A crocodile.
19:25I was up in Darwin
19:26and I was in a carry-on park
19:29and I was grabbing me rod
19:30to go fishing
19:31and my next story
19:32actually warned me.
19:33He said,
19:33don't go down there.
19:35Sorry,
19:36that was a really good story.
19:39He said,
19:39don't go down there,
19:40mate,
19:40there's crocs.
19:41I said,
19:42ah,
19:42bullshit,
19:42it's the beach,
19:43mate.
19:43Tossed it a line
19:44and all of a sudden
19:46I seen it come up
19:47and it was frontclaw
19:49just grabbed me
19:50and I ran like shit.
19:55Providing ladies
19:56around Australia
19:56would be one of
19:57the most delicious TV moments
19:59that is going to
20:00cross their eyes
20:00in a long time
20:01before you met
20:01a guy called Lortz
20:02with a tiger tattoo
20:03on his back
20:04telling us
20:04how he got bitten
20:05by a crocodile
20:05while digging a hole.
20:06What?
20:08He did not
20:09get bitten by a crocodile.
20:11Don't be jealous.
20:12Just because you get upset
20:13when you pluck your eyebrows,
20:16he does,
20:17he carries on
20:17like a pork chop.
20:19God forbid a man
20:19get bitten by a crocodile
20:21and then dig a hole.
20:22Oh, he just taped it up
20:23and it's all good.
20:24That's why it's all
20:25scarred like that.
20:27Yeah.
20:28It's all right.
20:28I'm glad you're on our team.
20:30I was going to get
20:31the trot as a washer and dryer
20:33but then when I saw
20:34Lortz's ads
20:35I was just like,
20:35oh, I'll just wash
20:36with their bloody
20:37underpants on that.
20:40Old school style.
20:43Got some suds.
20:51Hey, Lee,
20:52have you got a stick?
20:53Yeah, yeah, sure.
20:54Well, I've noticed
20:55some mould around the home,
20:56especially in the bathroom
20:57that you are working on
20:58right now
20:58and I've got some products
21:00that might be able
21:01to help with that.
21:02That is great
21:03you brought that up
21:04because it's such an issue
21:05like after flooding water
21:07it is just
21:08it comes out everywhere.
21:09So we've got
21:10quite a lot of areas
21:11that we need
21:12some sort of product
21:13that'll help.
21:14We've got some
21:14really great sprays
21:16that can do that
21:18for us.
21:19So they're mould sprays.
21:20You spray it on,
21:21let it sit for a while
21:22and then come back
21:23and remove it.
21:24And then we've also got
21:25some really great
21:26little buckets here.
21:28Then what you do
21:29is you just
21:29take the plastic off this,
21:31you pop this lid back on
21:32and you just let it sit.
21:33And what happens
21:34is it helps to prevent
21:36mould forming.
21:37Cool.
21:38That is exactly
21:39what we've been looking for.
21:42Brunch of Battlers
21:43is about community
21:44and people
21:45coming together
21:46to help out other people,
21:47especially those
21:48that are battling.
22:02Hello.
22:02How are you?
22:04You are not going to believe
22:05what we have done
22:06for you.
22:07Humankind
22:08today rocked in
22:09with a beautiful,
22:11beautiful caravan.
22:12So we know that Brooke,
22:14she's having a baby.
22:15Yeah.
22:16So Humankind
22:17have got in touch
22:18with Noel here.
22:19G'day Noel.
22:20Through Facebook Marketplace.
22:22Through Facebook Marketplace?
22:23Oh God,
22:23you meet the best people
22:24through Facebook Marketplace.
22:25Real people.
22:26Yeah.
22:27And he has provided this.
22:30I'm just so proud of them.
22:32They've got the budget,
22:33about the spirit.
22:34Are you Tari local?
22:35Yeah, yeah.
22:36They've been doing it
22:37bloody tough here,
22:38haven't they?
22:38Oh, 100%.
22:39You just don't realise
22:42the impact
22:43until you go through it yourself.
22:44Yeah.
22:45You know,
22:45and, you know,
22:47but we have a great community,
22:49you know,
22:49when things get tough,
22:51everybody blinks
22:51their arms together
22:52and helps everybody
22:54and the town
22:55just come back together
22:56so fast.
22:57We can budget buckle it in.
22:59Well done, Angie.
23:00You are,
23:01thank you.
23:02That's all right.
23:02Do you want to check it out?
23:04Yes.
23:04Go and have a look inside.
23:05Doing up caravans
23:06is my dream.
23:07So how good,
23:08now we've got a caravan
23:09to renovate.
23:09Woo!
23:10And a shed and a house.
23:12And a lawn
23:13and some concrete-ing.
23:16What's it like?
23:17Oh, here's Dave!
23:19Holy smokes,
23:20it would have been
23:20a rough ride.
23:21No, you took those corners
23:22a little hard, mate.
23:24Sorry, mate, sorry.
23:25Terms and conditions apply,
23:26Dave didn't really jump
23:27out of the caravan.
23:28We just went in there
23:29so that we could get
23:30surprised when he arrived.
23:32So don't bother
23:33calling the cops.
23:34That'll come out easy.
23:36That's coming out very easy.
23:37Oh, my gosh.
23:39All right, there goes that.
23:40Yeah.
23:40That's so, I love it.
23:43The people that really
23:44are going to be
23:45doing a bit tough
23:46is Brooke and her husband
23:46and the newborn baby
23:48were just coming
23:49in a couple of weeks.
23:49So this space
23:51is going to have
23:51a lovely couch,
23:53a telly,
23:54an air con,
23:56a place for them
23:57to sleep
23:57and a place
23:58for the baby
23:58to sleep
23:58so that they've
23:59at least got
24:00their little spots.
24:01And I just think
24:02that's so important.
24:03If I reckon diamonds
24:04are a girl's best friend,
24:04give me a caravan
24:06that looks a little bit
24:07dreary on the inside
24:08that's got fuller potential.
24:09That's actually
24:09my sweet spot.
24:18How are you, baby?
24:19How are you?
24:20How are you, mate?
24:21Coming up a road.
24:22Bloody-o.
24:22You are hard
24:24and you are fast, mate.
24:26And you can say that
24:26because that's his
24:27business name,
24:28hard and fast.
24:28We've got a fair bit
24:29to go,
24:29but I think we'll get
24:30there by the start
24:30hopefully.
24:31And what made you
24:31want to come down
24:32here today?
24:33Oh, we're just
24:33trying to help out
24:34with what we can
24:34and we've seen the show
24:36and stuff like that.
24:36We agree with what
24:37you guys are doing.
24:38I love it.
24:38You're a legend.
24:44Now it's my turn
24:45to go shopping.
24:46I've headed down
24:47to Beaumont Tiles
24:47to sort out the tiles
24:48for this bathroom.
24:50Look, I'm a bit of a regular
24:51when it comes to the
24:52shopping scene,
24:53like the styling side.
24:55You can just ask Jess
24:56that she does say
24:57that I have quite the
24:59ability to pick out
25:00a product that we need
25:01for the house.
25:02That's a lie.
25:03I am terrible at this.
25:05So what I do
25:06is I ring someone I know
25:07like my old mate
25:08Daz from Beaumont
25:09and I just go down
25:10and see him
25:11and he just picks it
25:12all out for me.
25:13I go back to site.
25:15Everyone thinks
25:15I've picked it.
25:16I look like the kid.
25:18How are you, Daz?
25:18I'm good, Norm.
25:19How are you?
25:19Going well, mate.
25:20What's happening?
25:20Oh, you know,
25:21working hard.
25:22How about you guys?
25:22We've got a bit going
25:23on at the moment.
25:24OK.
25:25So we're doing a house
25:25in Taree.
25:26Yep.
25:27Being completely flood
25:28damaged after all the floods
25:29I had there a few months ago.
25:30It's a family of six adults,
25:32two children.
25:33The problem is there's
25:34only one shower
25:35in the main house.
25:36We want to open up
25:37one bathroom
25:39that's technically
25:39just a toilet and basin.
25:41OK, yep, yep.
25:42We want to put
25:43another shower in there.
25:44OK, cool.
25:44So we need some tiles, brother.
25:47Easy.
25:47No problems.
25:47Let's head over
25:48to our BTMAX range
25:49and have a look
25:50at some options.
25:50Right.
25:51Beautiful.
25:51Beautiful.
25:52Now I'm thinking
25:53because we've got a family
25:54of six adults,
25:56two kids.
25:56Yep.
25:57I think we should go
25:57probably for a darker floor.
25:59It hides a bit more
25:59of the dirt.
26:00Yeah, yeah, yeah.
26:01So I'm thinking
26:02we will use
26:04omnistone,
26:05omniform charcoal
26:06from the range.
26:07It is a textured tile.
26:08Oh, beautiful.
26:08So it is non-slip.
26:09Great.
26:10Right, so for the kids
26:10it will help reduce
26:12slip factors
26:12when they're in the bathroom.
26:13Yep.
26:14And then I will pair that
26:15with just a simple
26:18gloss white wall tile.
26:20It's going to create
26:21more openness
26:22in the bathroom
26:23because of the gloss.
26:24Yep.
26:24So the bathroom
26:25will feel bigger
26:25than it actually is.
26:26Yeah, right.
26:26It's good
26:27because it's not a huge
26:29width in this bathroom.
26:30Beautiful.
26:30And remember too,
26:31bigger the tile,
26:32less grout lines.
26:33Yep.
26:33So it will also
26:33make the space feel bigger.
26:34Yeah, beautiful.
26:35All right, let's lock it in.
26:36Beautiful.
26:37Love your work, mate.
26:38Done.
26:39Yeah, I think it's going
26:39to make a massive difference
26:41to this family.
26:42They're just using
26:43one shower in the main
26:44part of the house
26:44and there's four adults,
26:46one kid.
26:47And they're fighting
26:48over the shower every day.
26:49If we can extend
26:50that other bathroom out
26:51and put another shower
26:52in there,
26:53they're going to have
26:53a shower or toilet vanity.
26:56Two people can use that one.
26:57Two people can use
26:58the other one.
26:59So everyone's
27:00going to get a shower
27:01and they'll have
27:02the hot water systems
27:03going and everything
27:03will be right.
27:04Everyone will have
27:04hot water and can
27:05shower all day long.
27:15Are you okay?
27:16Was it a whirly?
27:17There you go.
27:18Who's Ken?
27:21A curly whirly.
27:22It's a second
27:22healthy life, Ken.
27:27Where is the healthy
27:28life, Ken?
27:29I'm trying to treat.
27:31Oh!
27:31Here's the light.
27:33Ah!
27:34Ah!
27:35Are you okay?
27:36Yeah!
27:37Oh, my God!
27:38This is the most
27:39dramatic night
27:40of the series.
27:41Oh, my God!
27:43They come around
27:44the corner
27:45and then rolled,
27:46rolled, rolled
27:46and then just
27:47hook up.
27:48That's bizarre.
27:50And Twister
27:51was on telly
27:52last night.
27:53I watched a bit of it.
28:02The Budget Bettlers
28:04team are in
28:04Jones Island,
28:05New South Wales,
28:06helping out a local
28:07family whose home
28:08was hit hard
28:09by the floods.
28:10Let's see how
28:11the cash spend
28:11is going.
28:13The budget
28:14is still on track
28:15thanks to all
28:15the incredible
28:16donations we've
28:17received,
28:17including excavation
28:18gear donated
28:19by family members.
28:20But we've added
28:21$1,500 for paint
28:23for indoor and
28:23out,
28:24including the
28:25deluxe
28:25Renault range
28:26for the kitchen
28:26cabinet.
28:27Hide some gear
28:28from Kennards
28:29and $800
28:30for extra tools
28:31and timber.
28:32Total spend
28:32so far,
28:33$7,200.
28:49By far,
28:50one of the
28:51sweetest people
28:51on sight of the
28:52girls at Healthy
28:53Life.
28:53But for some reason,
28:54Mother Nature
28:54chucked the Healthy
28:56Life tent up
28:56and put it
28:57upside down
28:57in a bloody
28:58tree.
28:59Oh, my gosh.
29:01Looks healthy.
29:03I've got to get
29:04a few breaches
29:05out of here
29:05first.
29:07Our tent
29:08was completely
29:09gone.
29:11A mini cyclone
29:13came through
29:13and it
29:14blew it
29:15up into the
29:15tree,
29:16which,
29:17upside down,
29:18might I add.
29:19Absolutely.
29:19I'm still
29:20sceptical if that
29:21was the wind
29:22or if it was
29:23the boys
29:23things over
29:23in us.
29:24I don't know.
29:25All right,
29:25girls,
29:26there's your
29:26tent back.
29:27Thanks,
29:28guys.
29:29Oh, no.
29:36Obviously,
29:36you didn't have
29:37it weighed down,
29:38did you?
29:38Have a look at that.
29:39I don't think
29:40it would have
29:40mattered last
29:41night what you
29:41had on it,
29:42actually.
29:42It was going
29:43one way or
29:44another.
29:44Oh, no.
29:45Happy,
29:45healthy walk.
29:46All right.
29:46See you, Norm.
29:48If you're having
29:49one of those days
29:50where the Renault's
29:51gone sideways
29:51and your tent's
29:52ended up in a
29:53tree and you
29:53can't get to
29:54the doctor,
29:55don't stress.
29:55Our mates at
29:56Healthy Life
29:57have got you
29:57covered.
29:58I'm an idiot
29:59because I left
29:59some of my
29:59medication at
30:00home.
30:01Anyway,
30:01I've jumped
30:02onto Healthy
30:02Life's telehealth
30:03service to get
30:04my prescription
30:05filled and they
30:07deliver anywhere
30:08in Australia
30:08for free.
30:09So I don't
30:09even have to
30:10lose sight,
30:10I'm not going
30:11to lose time.
30:12It's bloody
30:12handy having
30:13mates with a
30:14telehealth service,
30:14isn't it?
30:15Hello.
30:16Yeah, I've
30:17left my
30:17prescription at
30:18home and I
30:19was just wondering
30:19if you'd be
30:20able to help
30:20me just get a
30:22new prescription
30:23because I'll be
30:24here for a
30:24couple of
30:24days.
30:28And that's
30:28how easy it
30:29is.
30:57We love
30:59all of our
30:59mates on the
30:59Budget Butler
31:00team and one
31:01of them used
31:01to be a
31:02real housewife,
31:03a Sophie star,
31:04even 90s pop
31:05royalty.
31:05But to me,
31:06she's just the
31:07fanciest person
31:08I know with a
31:09heart of gold.
31:10Mel, what a
31:11ripper.
31:12I am no
31:13expert.
31:13I just go off
31:15what I think
31:15looks nice and
31:16what I think
31:16looks good.
31:18And yeah,
31:19you just got to
31:20kind of wing it
31:21really.
31:23there's a
31:24beautiful story
31:25about this
31:26wooden table
31:27that they had
31:27in the
31:28lounge room.
31:29It was
31:29something that
31:30survived the
31:30flood.
31:31So they really
31:33wanted to keep
31:33that, which is
31:34amazing.
31:35So I've tried to
31:37go off those
31:38colours so you
31:39don't introduce
31:40another colour
31:40into the house.
31:42We want the
31:44family to come
31:45in and just be
31:47blown away and
31:48just love their
31:49space, still
31:51make it feel
31:52like it is
31:53their space, but
31:54just add a bit
31:56of the budget
31:57battler, you
31:58know, sliver.
32:04Munger and
32:05Lords are the
32:06ultimate budget
32:06battler warriors.
32:07They made the
32:08fence out of
32:08pine and pallets
32:09that they found
32:10around the place,
32:11which cost
32:11nothing.
32:12What a bunch
32:13of legends.
32:14Do you know
32:14how much they
32:14spent to the
32:15week?
32:17Under $100.
32:19You and
32:19Lords are just
32:21resource grabbers.
32:22Like you look
32:22around, see what
32:23you've got.
32:24Someone else
32:25might cost
32:26tight people.
32:27No, you're
32:28smart.
32:28I bloody love
32:29you.
32:29Wish I was a
32:30tight person.
32:31When it's go
32:32time, they've
32:33got two
32:34objectives.
32:35To bring
32:35people home,
32:36make sure that
32:37they're happy,
32:38but also not to
32:39break the bank
32:39because they know
32:40that every cent
32:40that they spend
32:41is going to take
32:42away money from
32:42the next house
32:43we've got to do.
32:54So, there's
32:55going to be a
32:56concrete path from
32:58the road up until
32:59the shed.
33:00They're reconcreting
33:01a little bit of
33:01it.
33:01Then inside the
33:02shed, we're going
33:03to get Dave's
33:04Harley-Davidson back
33:05from the marina.
33:06We're going to put
33:07it on its own
33:08little dance floor.
33:09It's going to be
33:11unreal.
33:15I've got a trailer
33:16load of stuff
33:17that the Turry
33:18Men's Shed gave
33:18to me a while
33:19back to help
33:20all of the
33:21flood victims,
33:22and it's tools,
33:23power tools,
33:24hand tools,
33:25nails, hammers.
33:26You guys are
33:27doing that shed,
33:28and I'm sure
33:28there's probably
33:29stuff in that
33:29trailer that you
33:31guys can snap.
33:32Oh, simply.
33:33Can we have a look?
33:34Yeah, absolutely.
33:34All right, let's go.
33:36It's random.
33:36I'd been watching
33:37their show a few
33:38weeks ago and saw
33:40this post, and I
33:41thought it's a
33:41sign, I've got
33:42this trailer load
33:43of stuff, they
33:44need help.
33:45I saw how bad
33:46it was here, and
33:48so I just turned
33:48up.
33:49Ho, ho, ho.
33:51Oh, my God.
33:52There's almost
33:52everything that you
33:53can think of.
33:54It's just...
33:55Oh, yeah.
33:57So, Janine, just
33:58a random, just
33:59popped in with
34:00the trailer on,
34:01absolutely choc-a-block
34:02full of tools.
34:03So nice.
34:04The Tarree Men's
34:05Shed donated all
34:07this stuff to her,
34:08and she's just
34:09going around offering
34:10whatever's in that
34:11trailer.
34:11If you need it,
34:12you take it.
34:13If you don't want it,
34:14so be it.
34:15I'll take it off
34:16to the next joint.
34:16Beautiful.
34:17I'm going to leave
34:17you guys with it.
34:18Janine, thank you so
34:19much.
34:19You're very welcome.
34:20Unbelievable.
34:21Awesome.
34:23Unbelievable.
34:24Yeah, it's an
34:24awesome community
34:25around here.
34:26Yeah.
34:26You just can't.
34:27So, blimey, that has
34:28been there all
34:29afternoon.
34:30Oh, Janine.
34:31She's been out
34:32there working
34:32outside with the
34:33boys and raking up
34:34gardens and laying
34:35turf.
34:36Was Janine the one
34:36doing the, like,
34:38pulling up the
34:38weeds?
34:38Like, her?
34:39Yeah.
34:39That's Janine.
34:40She's lovely.
34:41I was like, who's
34:42that?
34:42Now I know.
34:43It's Janine.
34:43Janine.
34:56We wanted to put
34:57some doors in
34:57between the
34:58bedroom and the
34:59living room in
35:00Josh and Brooke's
35:01part of the house.
35:02And Foreman Lee has
35:03a great money-saving
35:05idea.
35:08BJ board, and
35:09he then encoded it
35:10with the MDF, and
35:11then he got the
35:11rails that you do
35:12it.
35:12Look how beautiful
35:13that he is.
35:14You can't tell me
35:15that that man is
35:15not a craftsman.
35:18He is...
35:19No, it looks
35:19nice.
35:20Oh, he's good.
35:36Good job, Mike.
35:37Thank you,
35:38Lawrence.
35:38I'll be back.
35:39I appreciate you.
35:39I'll be back as
35:40soon as I can.
35:41Everyone has come
35:42together this week,
35:43and it has shown
35:44how kind humans
35:45can be.
35:46Probably a good
35:46time now to get
35:47humankind in to
35:48announce their
35:49kindest person on
35:50side award, I
35:50reckon.
35:51It was hard to
35:52pick because
35:52everyone's put in
35:53110% effort.
35:54There's one person
35:55that has actually
35:55stood out quite a
35:56lot, and from the
35:57very first day that
35:58we arrived, they
35:59have just been
35:59stepping up and
36:00offering to help
36:01however they can.
36:02Yeah.
36:03They're the first
36:04person that we've
36:05seen every morning
36:07when we've arrived.
36:08They've gone over
36:09and above.
36:10They've just
36:10always got this
36:11beautiful smile on
36:12their face, and
36:13they're so warm, and
36:16nothing's been too
36:17much trouble for
36:18them.
36:18We want to award
36:19this person $5,000.
36:22So the person that
36:23we've chosen is you,
36:26Serena.
36:37Winning from the
36:38humankind, $5,000.
36:40That's incredible.
36:42No one's ever done
36:43that for me, and I'm
36:44just feeling really
36:45overwhelmed, actually,
36:47because I feel like
36:48everybody deserves
36:49their own card of
36:50$5,000.
36:51Yeah.
37:06Origin Energy are
37:07here to make sure
37:08the whole house is
37:09electrified and to
37:10get some whopping
37:11big solar panels on
37:12the roof.
37:14So the Sun Grand
37:16Inverter and Battery
37:16is now fully
37:17commissioned?
37:18Yes.
37:18And if you look at
37:19this beautiful
37:20installation here,
37:21this is a single
37:22phase hybrid 8
37:23kilowatt inverter,
37:24and this is a
37:259.6 kilowatt
37:27batteries, and the
37:28customer can be
37:29able to monitor how
37:30much the system is
37:32doing, how much the
37:33battery is charging
37:33or discharging from
37:35their mobile app
37:35called iSolar Cloud.
37:37I can show you
37:38through the iSolar
37:40Cloud app.
37:40Right now, the
37:41system is producing
37:42around 2.5 kilowatt.
37:44The house is taking
37:45around 2 kilowatt of
37:46and remaining is
37:47charging the battery.
37:48So it is a very
37:50easy way for the
37:51customer to manage
37:52how much solar they
37:53have.
37:54That's fantastic.
37:54Great.
37:55Thank you so much.
37:56I really appreciate
37:57you coming out.
38:07It's our final day
38:08here in Jones Island,
38:09and the team, along
38:11with the beautiful
38:11community, haven't
38:12stopped.
38:13They've worked around
38:14the clock, barely
38:15sleeping, to get this
38:16place ready in time
38:17for the family to
38:18come home.
38:19That's right.
38:20Five big days.
38:21A crew of bloody
38:23hard-working volunteers,
38:2410 grand, and some
38:26ripper donations from
38:27some top-notch people
38:28and businesses who
38:30just wanted to pitch in
38:31and do some good.
38:39Oh, my goodness.
38:42Oh, my goodness.
38:45Wow.
38:46Oh, look at the fence.
38:48It's beautiful.
38:48Oh, my God.
38:49Come on.
39:05Oh, hello, you darling
39:07trotters.
39:08How are you?
39:09Good.
39:11We're great.
39:12We're great.
39:12We are so excited to
39:14show you what we're
39:14about to present, but
39:16what happened in the
39:16last five days wasn't
39:17just a renovation.
39:18It was a group of
39:19people that came
39:20together, not just
39:22because they knew
39:23you, but because they
39:24heard about you.
39:25And as a result, we
39:27have got to know you
39:28and how beautiful you
39:29are through your
39:29families, your
39:30friends, your
39:30stories, what
39:31you've done.
39:33And we just want
39:34to say we really
39:34love you.
39:35She's making you
39:36cry again.
39:37Sorry.
39:37And me.
39:39Sometimes when you
39:40see things and
39:43you're inside the
39:44space, you can
39:45feel the struggle.
39:48And sometimes you
39:49don't realise how
39:50much that struggle
39:51is until you
39:51actually get in
39:52there and you
39:52go, oh, my God,
39:54I'm so glad we're
39:55here.
39:57Thank you for
39:58letting us showcase
39:58Tari and the
39:59kindness and the
40:00love and the
40:01generosity that it
40:02is.
40:03So if you don't
40:03mind, she'll go
40:05into your house and
40:06have a look.
40:07Oh, we would
40:08love to have a
40:08look.
40:09Come on, let's
40:09go, guys.
40:14Open her up,
40:16trotters.
40:16Come on.
40:36This is just
40:37beautiful.
40:38They've actually
40:39done a mighty
40:39job.
40:40They have.
40:41From what it was.
40:42The yard was just
40:43a mud heap.
40:44Weeks and weeks of
40:45work has been done
40:46in days.
40:47In days.
40:47You've just got to
40:48look at it.
41:07Oh, my goodness.
41:10Oh, my goodness.
41:12Oh, my goodness.
41:33What you've done in
41:34here is...
41:37It's hard to explain.
41:39It's unbelievable.
41:40It's just...
41:41But this table is a
41:42survivor because this
41:43survived the flood.
41:44This is one of the
41:44only bits of furniture.
41:45These chairs, these
41:46chairs floated, but that
41:48survived and it's like
41:49the whole eight of us
41:50can fit around this.
41:51Yeah.
41:51It just looks
41:52beautiful.
41:53Just stunning.
41:54I love it.
42:02Wow, that looks so nice.
42:05That's beautiful.
42:11Wow.
42:12Oh, my God.
42:31I can't believe it.
42:33I can't believe it's
42:33the same room.
42:34All those shelves are
42:35gone.
42:50Look what Forman Lee
42:51made with MDF and BJ.
42:54I know.
42:54That's beautiful.
42:56How flash.
43:00That is stunning, isn't it?
43:02That is stunning.
43:03I envisaged barn doors
43:04on this.
43:05Did you?
43:05That's what I wanted him
43:06to do, but it was like
43:07he was never...
43:09So many jobs.
43:10I was going to say,
43:10you had plenty on your
43:11plate, Dave.
43:12I don't know whether...
43:13I couldn't find a barn.
43:23We're at the home of the trotters
43:25in Jones Island
43:26near Tauri
43:27in New South Wales.
43:28This is just beautiful.
43:30And we are pleased to say
43:31they are loving
43:32what we've done so far.
43:33What you've done in here is...
43:36Yeah, it's hard to explain.
43:38Like, it's...
43:39It's unbelievable.
43:40But the best is yet to come.
43:47Oh, look at it.
43:48It's beautiful.
43:49Oh, my God.
43:50Oh, I, oh, I
43:52I've seen it and I know I
43:54know I, oh, I
43:56The extra bathroom
43:58will make a huge difference.
44:00There'll be no finding...
44:01No.
44:01...at night time.
44:04Yeah, it's game changer.
44:05Absolutely game changer, that.
44:07It is.
44:07Do you want me to show you
44:08how you can wash your barn?
44:09No, it's okay.
44:11I'm guessing that is
44:12a bidet over there.
44:15It's a bidet from COVID.
44:17So it's like a toilet
44:18so you put it on top
44:19so you don't have to
44:20replace your entire system.
44:21Oh, lovely.
44:22Have you tried it yet?
44:24No, but I'm happy
44:25to do it in front of you
44:26to show you the same spot.
44:28But I have heard
44:29you haven't lived
44:30till you've had water on.
44:33It's not bad.
44:36I might get off it.
44:39Actually, I don't mind
44:40that at all.
44:42You, we should have a go.
44:44Like, honestly,
44:45you've got to try
44:46before.
44:46No, I'm not doing it
44:47in someone's new house.
44:50I might do it
44:51in a motel room
44:52where I'm by myself.
44:54Is that your moral stance?
44:56Is that your moral stance?
44:58He's a good guy.
44:59You should put that
44:59on your Tinder profile.
45:00We'll not use a bidet
45:01at someone's new house.
45:05We'll only do it
45:06at motels.
45:09As Dave and Jen
45:10take a moment
45:11to enjoy their
45:12newly transformed home,
45:13it's time to show
45:14Josh and Brooke
45:15their new retreat.
45:16We know you're having
45:17a baby in a couple of weeks.
45:18How's your hormones?
45:19Yeah.
45:20Ask Josh.
45:21Oh.
45:23We have these friends
45:23called Dave and Anne.
45:25They're from Humankind.
45:26They rocked up with this caravan
45:27that they wanted to gift
45:29because I was telling them
45:30about you guys
45:30and I was like,
45:31it's kind of hard
45:32not having your own space
45:33a little bit.
45:34Do you know what I mean?
45:34Just somewhere.
45:35And so Lortz
45:37and Munga
45:38and Lee
45:39did an absolute
45:40all-nighter
45:41last night.
45:42We all just wanted
45:43to create a space
45:44for you to be able
45:45to relax
45:46because being a mama
45:47for the first time
45:48with your baby,
45:49you can't get,
45:50you can't get that back.
45:52So I hope this is the place
45:53You're making me cry.
45:54Stop it.
45:55You can tell the moms.
45:57God.
45:59I know.
46:01I love you.
46:02Okay.
46:03God, look.
46:05Oh, my God.
46:19You know this is ours.
46:22Oh, my God.
46:22I'm going to start crying again.
46:28This is going to be
46:30really great
46:31for when we have the baby
46:32and we can come in here
46:34and just relax.
46:36You can come in here
46:37and chill
46:37with your little brother.
46:40I'm like lost for words.
46:51That little caravan
46:52that we get to call ours
46:54is amazing
46:55and it's going to be
46:58a saviour
46:59when the baby's here
47:00and we just go sneak off
47:02and have some quiet time.
47:07Hi, Jen and Dave.
47:09Hi, Jess.
47:10Good to see you.
47:11Nice to see you.
47:12This is my mate, Lydia.
47:13She's from Origin.
47:15She's going to give you
47:15a little bit of something, something.
47:16When we heard about
47:17everything that you've done
47:18for the community,
47:18we wanted to give something back.
47:20So you probably saw
47:22that we've installed
47:23a great big solar system
47:25on your rooftop
47:26but that's not all.
47:27We've also installed
47:28a 10 kilowatt battery.
47:30So that means
47:31that all the excess solar
47:32that's soaked up
47:33by those beautiful panels
47:34up on your roof
47:35is going to go
47:36into the battery
47:36and then as soon
47:37as the sun goes down,
47:38your battery kicks in
47:39and your battery's going
47:40to power your home at night.
47:41So, you know,
47:42your home should stay
47:43a lot more comfortable
47:44and your bills
47:45will come right down.
47:46Wow.
47:47With so many living here,
47:49our bills are
47:49very high.
47:50We are high users
47:51of electricity
47:51so that will be amazing.
47:53That will really help us out.
47:55So welcome.
47:55Thank you, Lydia
47:55and thank you, Origin.
47:57So great.
47:57And we have a little
47:58solar panels everywhere.
48:02It was just unreal.
48:03So that'll make
48:04a really big difference.
48:07This used to be
48:08your flood-torn areas
48:11with swamp.
48:12We had your mate
48:13bring some gravel
48:14thousands of dollars worth
48:15to be able to give you
48:16a road so that you're able
48:17to access your machinery
48:18because then we know
48:19that if you were to twist
48:20or turn,
48:21it could be catastrophic
48:22for you health-wise.
48:23So we can't thank
48:24the chameleon enough
48:25for even donating
48:26the rocks here.
48:27That's amazing.
48:28Do you guys want to come?
48:30Come.
48:30Come with us.
48:31Come for a walk.
48:38Oh, my God.
48:40Oh, my God.
48:46Oh, my God.
48:59Oh, my God.
49:25Thank you so much.
49:32What are you thinking?
49:37I've got lots of words.
49:40I wouldn't know
49:41what it was like.
49:58I don't even have words.
50:00Sorry.
50:01I have no words.
50:02This is beautiful.
50:04You've got a TV.
50:07I'm not used to that
50:08when people do stuff to me.
50:10Have your joy, mate.
50:11I heard you needed a shed back.
50:13And there you go.
50:15Thank you so much.
50:16Can't be a kind of man cave
50:18without the man cave, yeah?
50:19I know I've got a lot
50:20of good friends and that,
50:21but for them to then
50:22come and do this was,
50:24yeah, very...
50:25It's emotional for me.
50:31It's a weight lifter.
50:32It is.
50:33It's a massive way.
50:34It's huge.
50:35It's weeks and weeks of work
50:37to us has been done in...
50:40In days.
50:40In days.
50:41And let's say,
50:43you've just got to look at it
50:44and it's just,
50:45my God, it's beautiful.
50:46It's unreal, you know?
50:49With a budget of less
50:50than $10,000,
50:51it just proves
50:52that with some help
50:53from your mates
50:53and some creative ideas,
50:55you don't have to spend
50:56a fortune to have nice things
50:58and be reminded
50:59that you loved.
51:00We got local real estate agent
51:02Peter Sayers
51:03to see if our 10 grand reno
51:04has added any value
51:05to the place.
51:07Oi-da.
51:08Yes, how you going?
51:10Mate, told ya.
51:11Oh, what a difference.
51:13Who are you?
51:14Great, great.
51:14Oh.
51:16I can't believe
51:17how much you've got done.
51:18I mean, oh my gosh.
51:19What do you reckon?
51:20What's your favourite part?
51:21Oh, well, this was...
51:22This is a great man cave now.
51:24This was obviously
51:25a good shed before,
51:26full of tools
51:26and good for storage,
51:27but what a usable space.
51:29Yeah.
51:30And then inside looks
51:32so different.
51:33Yeah.
51:34Added a bathroom and...
51:35So compared to them to now,
51:37what are we looking at
51:38if we were to give them
51:39a bit of a nest egg?
51:40You know, if you were going
51:40to sell it as it was before
51:42versus now,
51:43you'd have to be
51:44easily 100,
51:46probably 200 better off
51:47if you were to sell it
51:48as it was before.
51:49So unbelievable turnaround
51:51in five days.
51:53My gosh.
51:58Let's check out
51:59how we went on the budget.
52:00The biggest cash spend
52:01this week
52:02was the bathroom conversion,
52:03but adding an extra shower
52:04is life-changing.
52:06A thousand bucks for shelving
52:07with a few donations
52:08by the legends at Resync,
52:09and we did receive
52:10some incredible donations
52:11and a lot of chop-out
52:12from mates,
52:13including Excavation Hire,
52:15Kogan,
52:16the Caravan from Humankind,
52:17and a special shout-out
52:19to David Latham
52:20at Ford's Corrie Moorland
52:21for all the gravel.
52:22But total cash spend
52:23under nine grand.
52:25My best budget
52:27butler bargain
52:27is the shed.
52:28Sometimes things
52:29just need a good scrub.
52:30It's amazing
52:31how it turns out.
52:32I get the same feeling
52:33when I have a shower.
52:35My best budget
52:36butler bargain
52:37has to be the barn doors.
52:39Made out of MDF
52:40and cost them
52:41less than 400 bucks.
52:43They look amazing.
52:45Good work, Lee.
52:48Sometimes life
52:49takes a bit of
52:50a rumble and tumble.
52:51We know that it was
52:52more than the floods
52:53that has affected you.
52:54And Janine,
52:55we also know that
52:56you have been having
52:56a really tough time as well.
52:58And so,

53:00from Atlas Property Group,
53:01we have gotten to know
53:02each other
53:02and he is one
53:03of the most genuine
53:03and I'm proud
53:04to call him a friend.
53:05He wants to tell you something.
53:06We would love
53:07to send you away
53:08for a few days
53:09to Hamilton Island
53:09in Queensland
53:10so that you can
53:12have a nice little break
53:13and really be able
53:14to have some time
53:14to yourselves
53:15and also have some time
53:16with each other.
53:17Oh, wow.

53:24they go beyond
53:26and we love them immensely
53:28what they've done for us.
53:30And we feel like
53:30we've known them
53:31all our lives.
53:32They just make you
53:33feel so welcome.
53:34They're just
53:34such fair-thinking people.
