00:00That guy looks like he's, he is, he drinks four or five energy drinks a day, man.
00:06You know, that guy, you know, that guy looks like Tyler, that guy just got an after five
00:12o'clock shadow, chews a lot of gum hard, looks like he's, it's like Coach O.
00:18Hold that tiger.
00:21Yeah, he does.
00:23Four monsters a day minimum, I'd guess.
00:25Got to be, got to be.
00:27I think Coach O may just be, he may just be leaning into that, that powder.
00:33Okay.
00:34I think Coach O said to hell with them monsters.
00:37Like that white girl, huh?
00:38Yeah, man.
00:38Let me lean into that little white girl.
00:40Where's the party?
00:41Let me get a little Scarlett Johansson.
00:44Hold that tiger.
00:45Sidney Sweeney.
00:46Let me get a little of that.
00:47Let me get a little of that.
00:49She's running through a mation.
00:51She's having a good time.
00:53How good she is.
00:55Glad she is.
00:55Tyler, Tyler's a big fan.
00:57Me and Tyler, we are a big fan.
00:58Sidney, good work.
01:00Oh, yeah.
01:01Can't believe, can't wait till Euphoria comes back.
01:04Gonna be shorter, a few more cast members, oh man, sad stuff.
01:08Yeah, we've had some deaths, haven't we?
01:09Yeah, like two or three of them.
01:11She's killing them off?
01:13No, no, no.
01:14Although she could smother anybody.
01:16That's 100% true.
01:17All right.
01:18Oh.
01:21By the way, in my travels in Minneapolis, I got caught where, I mean, we went to a nice
01:28little, little, little, like little bar, lounge, little spot.
01:32Mm-hmm.
01:34Charged $5 for guys to cover.
01:38I didn't know we were still doing that.
01:39Women get in free, guys got to pay cover?
01:42Five bucks.
01:42Probably a decent spot.
01:45Still running into it.
01:46I mean, was the ratio good?
01:47Forget, forget the quality.
01:49A lot of hard legs.
01:51Oh, it's a lot of, a lot.
01:52And to the point here, like, we're watching the end of the, the, the tournament.
01:58It's like the end, the end night of the tournament is Thursday, I believe.
02:01And all I'm, in my mind, I'm just counting them up.
02:04The guys or the games?
02:05Counting up the money.
02:06Yeah, the guys.
02:07Oh, yeah, you're trying to figure it out.
02:08That's 25.
02:09Yeah.
02:10Five of them walk in.
02:11And I'm like, I mean, but it was, it was, it was two, three to one.
02:18Still, I would think that charging, charging the fellas.
02:21I used to.
02:22I would think that charging the fellas would keep the ratio.
02:25I mean, was Minnesota bars typically, what are they, six, seven to one or something?
02:29I don't know.
02:29It was down, it was right downtown.
02:31Right in the heart downtown.
02:32Called Last Call.
02:34Last Call.
02:35Last Call Bar and Grill.
02:36That sounds like a place you belong to.
02:38Last Call Bar and Grill.
02:39I'd check it out.
02:39Hey, Tyler, they had beer pong upstairs.
02:42They had, and they had a little musical.
02:46I mean, it was, it was, it was probably like, probably like early to mid 2000s kind of a
02:52flavor of music in there.
02:54And, and the weather had just started to get, so it was guys rolling.
02:57They probably made a good penny.
02:58Oh, I bet.
02:59With just, with the dudes that was rolling in there.
03:01And I, I mean, cause they're, you know, you know, we travel, they three, four in a pack.
03:05I said, damn, man, that's 20 bucks they did.
03:07Every time a party walks in.
03:09Every time I come see it, man.
03:10I was like, damn.
03:12But I, I, but you know, when they said it to me, I walk in, check my ID.
03:16All right, cool.
03:16I got you.
03:18The Joker said, five dollars for the, for the gentleman.
03:22I said, five dollars?
03:24You should have said, well, I don't see no gentleman.
03:26I said, we still going five dollars here?
03:28I ain't done that in a while.
03:30Keep talking, it'll be 10.
03:31Like I, like I paid my way to get into places.
03:34Yeah.
03:35I have not going into the, you just got to pay.
03:37I hadn't, I thought we were all paying.
03:39I think, I thought we were all having to pay to get in.
03:41I was, I was like, damn, man, I haven't been in this since Murfreesboro.
03:44Yeah.
03:45Depending on how many drinks in I was, I'd have something smart ass to say about it.
03:49Y'all in here paying five dollars a head and the ratio is still four to one.
03:52What the hell are we buying here?
03:53And I, I looked through there.
03:56I'm like, maybe it's early.
03:58It was 11th about it.
04:00It was 11th.
04:01Five dollars at the door, boy, you ought to be able to peek in that thing and see some,
04:04see some, some fire now.
04:06Oh, some heat now.
04:07Yeah.
04:07Took a lap around.
04:08I said, I don't know about this.
04:10Maybe it's going to pick up after midnight.
04:11That's five good dollars.
04:12I just threw it bad now.
04:14Yeah.
04:14Hey, real quick.
04:15713-572-416 YouTube and Twitch.
04:18Base power text line 713-572-416.
04:23Are you feeling any different about the Rockets now that they made the move?
04:26Udoka made the move, put Reed Shepard in the lineup.
04:29They're 2-0.
04:30Yes, it was against, I think, a very hot Atlanta Hawks.
04:33They had won 11 games in a row.
04:35I mean, they were still a playoff team in the East, weren't they?
04:36They're a playoff team, but they were on an 11-game win streak before the Rockets snapped
04:40it, and they blew them out, 117-95.
04:42They beat them pretty good.
04:44And then against a Miami Heat team, that's also in the playoffs right there.
04:48They got them as a man, Thompson was able to get the putback off of KD's miss.
04:54By the way, KD passed and Michael Jordan.
04:56Don't want to just roll through that on the all-time scoring list.
05:01But they are 2-0.
05:03You can see the difference offensively with them.
05:06Reed Shepard into the lineup.
05:08He's averaging 19.
05:10I think I had an average.
05:12I think he was averaging like 19-9.
05:1419 points, 9 assists, including 24-14 against the Heat.
05:18And to me, the big part that I enjoyed is what it meant for others around him.
05:24I felt like Kevin Durant maybe had more space and easier room.
05:29Shingun was marginally better.
05:34And then Amen Thompson was the one to me that really benefited in his way.
05:38We started to see the old Amen Thompson where he is getting rebounds.
05:42He's getting assists and scoring in the spaces and the spots that he should score
05:49where he's finishing things as opposed to initiating and starting things.
05:53To me, it makes me feel a lot better about the Rockets.
05:57And it does a bit change my thought process on what they're going to be in the postseason.
06:03They got 12 games to try to figure this lineup out.
06:05But it does seem like he's committed to doing it, and we saw some good early returns.
06:09Yeah, look, I love the change.
06:12I think most Rockets fans were waiting on the change.
06:14And I tell you what I really liked, Ron, was the fact that it was a change,
06:18obviously, to Reed Shepard starting, but Holiday on the back end of that.
06:21So you're committing to having a true ball handler,
06:26or at least the closest thing you have to a true ball handler,
06:29true guards on the court handling the ball the majority of the time.
06:32Like, that's a clear shift in what they were.
06:34Holiday wasn't even playing much unless it was an absolute blowout one way or another.
06:38And so the fact that he and Shepard both got run,
06:42and both played really well, I think is big.
06:45They both shot it really well from the three-point line.
06:50And then I think the biggest part of all this is this team, I don't care.
06:54We talk about whatever lineup you want to put out there,
06:57and whoever wants to be doing the scoring,
06:59they were turning the ball over at a clip that they were never going to win a playoff series,
07:02turning the ball over like that.
07:03And you look at Holiday and Shepard together,
07:06in those two games, with a lot of minutes logged,
07:10those two combined for six turnovers.
07:14And that's, to me, I don't know,
07:16that's the commitment to the guards being the ball handlers,
07:21and the fact that the turnovers with those predominant ball handlers,
07:26or at least with two guys that do handle it,
07:29appeared to be down.
07:30And it appeared to be a safer way to play ball as well.
07:33So, yeah, man, I feel different about him.
07:37We had Tracy McGrady on when you were out, Ron.
07:40In fact, there's a promo run where he talks about...
07:43They got to change that offense.
07:44Yeah, revamping the offense.
07:46And I was like, well, I don't know how you're going to do that.
07:47Now, I had no idea that all of a sudden that M.A. Doka,
07:50with 12 games left or 14 games left in the season,
07:52was going to legitimately shift gears and let Reed Shepard start
07:56and take a different approach, but he did, and here we sit.
08:00I don't know how much better I feel in a sense of,
08:03boy, they can go win a title.
08:05I don't feel great about that.
08:07Yeah, well, I just mean, I haven't felt great about that
08:10since they signed Durant.
08:13Once they started playing basketball, I was like, uh-oh,
08:15we could have a little bit of a problem here.
08:16But it hasn't shifted to where now I feel like they can go win
08:20more than one playoff series.
08:22But I do like, as a Rockets fan, to watch the Rockets and go,
08:26there's some semblance of an offense.
08:28I know it looks like they're, you know,
08:30you can tell when you watch what they're trying to accomplish.
08:33And I think they can win some games like that.
08:35I think they've got a better chance of winning games now
08:37and the playoffs like that than they did before.
08:40Yeah, shout-out to Chase and the Woodlands
08:41on the base power text line, 713-5724-1610.
08:45I love me some Reed Shepard,
08:48but that boy on defense sucks.
08:50He gets taken off the dribble almost every time.
08:54And you guys tell me if I'm wrong.
08:59I'm not going to try to push to you
09:02that Reed Shepard's a good defender.
09:04I do also believe there's a bit of a narrative
09:07that has shaped that, and we've seen this a lot in sports
09:12and a lot of different things.
09:15He's not as bad as we're making out,
09:17as some people make it out to be.
09:19He's not as – and he's definitely not as bad
09:21as Udoka has made it out to be
09:23where he's got to be off the floor
09:25because his defense is so rough.
09:27He makes some plays sometimes, right?
09:30Like, the biggest play that Kevin Durant himself said
09:34inspired him and the team was his hustle,
09:37and he got back and got that block
09:40when the guy was going in for the Hawks for the dunk
09:43and kind of ignited things.
09:44So, like, he's not a great defender.
09:47I'm not going to tell you that he's a men times it.
09:49He's also – there's a narrative where if he gets beat off the dribble,
09:54it ain't going to be looked at the same way
09:56if Murray Eason gets beat off the dribble.
09:58Yeah, but –
09:58Like, it's a little over the top.
10:00And you know better.
10:01You can answer this question.
10:02This is more of a question.
10:03I mean, I know I've seen it, but I don't watch as much as you.
10:05I mean, a lot of really good basketball teams out there
10:10overcome a guard on their team that's not the biggest guy,
10:16that's not the best defender, that's not – you know what I mean?
10:18Like, his forte is not being great on defense.
10:21And I'm not saying that Reed Shepard is a guy
10:24that's going to bring it up to the table offensively
10:25that you're willing to risk what you would for a great player
10:29or a great guard on the defense.
10:30I'm not saying that by any means.
10:32But what I'm saying is if we just hone in on the defense of Reed Shepard,
10:35let's not act like the Rockets would be the first team to play a guard
10:39that can be taken advantage of on the defensive end of the floor.
10:42They've got a center that can be taken advantage of on the defensive side of the floor.
10:47I mean, the reality of it is, I mean, there's –
10:50I think there's a lot of good teams that have to overcome some deficiencies
10:53on the defensive end of the floor because of guard size or speed or whatever.
10:58However, I don't know how many good teams constantly have guys handling the ball
11:03that look uncomfortable doing it.
11:04I just – I don't know how that – so I'll take the –
11:07I'll take the little bit you've got to give up on defense.
11:09I'm just saying it ain't as bad as we're making –
11:11it's becoming a real narrative.
