00:00Hello, Story Explorers, and welcome to a wonderful adventure.
00:05Are you ready for a super interesting story from the Bible?
00:08Great!
00:09This story is all about a kind teacher, a big pot of soup, and a little mistake that turned into
00:14a big miracle.
00:15Our story begins with a wise and friendly man named Elisha.
00:19Elisha was a prophet, which is a special teacher from God.
00:23He had a big fluffy beard and always wore a smile.
00:27With him were his best friends, the student helpers.
00:30They loved learning from Elisha and helping him every day.
00:34One sunny morning, there was a problem.
00:36A big problem.
00:37Everyone's tummies were rumbling.
00:39Rumble, rumble, grumble.
00:42A famine was in the land, which meant there wasn't much food to eat.
00:46The fields were empty, the trees had no fruit, and the snack cupboards were bare.
00:51Oh, I'm so hungry, said one of the helpers.
00:55Me too, said another.
00:56Elisha, with his kind smile, said,
00:59Don't you worry.
01:00Let's see what we can find.
01:02We'll make a big yummy soup for everyone to share.
01:05One of the helpers who was extra eager to help, jumped up and said,
01:09I'll go find some vegetables for the soup, Elisha.
01:12He was so excited.
01:13He grabbed a big basket and ran outside, ready for his important job.
01:17He looked around the fields, searching for anything to put in the pot.
01:21He saw a pretty vine with round, green veggies that looked a bit like little watermelons.
01:26Wow, perfect.
01:28He thought, these will be delicious in the soup.
01:31He filled his whole basket and ran back, so proud that he had found so much food.
01:36He carefully chopped the veggies and plopped them into the big, bubbling pot of soup.
01:40Plop, plop, splash.
01:43Everyone gathered around, smelling the soup.
01:45It was almost ready.
01:47Finally, it was time to eat.
01:49The helpers got their bowls and took a big spoonful.
01:52But, yuck.
01:53Oh no.
01:54One of them shouted, yikes.
01:56This soup tastes funny.
01:58Another one cried out.
01:59There's something wrong with the soup.
02:01The poor helper who had gathered the veggies felt his face turn red.
02:05He had accidentally picked a yucky, wild plant that wasn't safe to eat.
02:09It was a big, big mistake.
02:11He didn't mean to, but he had put oopsie daisies in the soup.
02:15Everyone looked worried.
02:17Would they have to throw all the soup away?
02:19But Elisha wasn't worried at all.
02:21He just smiled calmly.
02:22He knew that God was with them and would help them fix this problem.
02:26He held up his hand and said,
02:28It's okay.
02:29Just bring me some flour.
02:30Flour?
02:31The helpers were confused.
02:33Flour is the soft, white powder used to make yummy bread and cookies.
02:37How could that fix the yucky soup?
02:39But they trusted Elisha.
02:41They brought him a small bag of flour.
02:43Elisha took a handful of the soft flour and tossed it into the big pot.
02:47He swirled it around and something amazing happened.
02:51Poof.
02:52Swish.
02:53Sparkle.
02:54A little shimmer of light danced over the soup and just like magic, the funny taste was gone.
03:00The yucky soup was now yummy soup.
03:02Elisha smiled and said,
03:04Now you can eat.
03:05The helpers carefully took another taste.
03:08Wow.
03:09They cheered.
03:10It's delicious.
03:11The soup was perfectly safe and wonderfully tasty.
03:15Everyone ate until their rumbling tummies were full and happy.
03:18Isn't that a wonderful story?
03:20The helper made a mistake, but he had a good heart and just wanted to help.
03:25And Elisha showed everyone that God is always there to help us.
03:28God can take our biggest oopsie daisies and turn them into something amazing.
03:33He takes care of us, loves us, and can fix any problem, big or small.
03:38So next time you make a mistake, remember the story of the great soup fix up,
03:43and know that a little bit of help and a whole lot of love can make everything okay.
03:48Thanks for joining our adventure today, Story Explorers.
03:51Bye bye.
03:52Bye bye.
