00:00Have you ever heard of a super brave captain named Nauman?
00:03Well, Captain Nauman was a big hero.
00:06He was the commander of a whole army for a faraway king.
00:09When he walked down the street, everyone would cheer.
00:13Hooray for Captain Nauman!
00:14He had a beautiful house, a loving family,
00:17and lots of shiny medals that clinked and clanked when he walked.
00:21He was strong, famous, and everyone thought he had the perfect life.
00:25But Nauman had a secret.
00:27A big, sad secret that he hid under his fancy captain's uniform.
00:31You see, Nauman had a sickness with spots.
00:34All over his skin, there were little white spots that wouldn't go away.
00:39They made him very sad,
00:40and he wished more than anything that he could be all better.
00:44Now, living in Nauman's big house was a little helper girl.
00:48She had come from a different country, a place called Israel,
00:51and she was very kind and thoughtful.
00:54She helped Nauman's wife with chores around the house, always with a sweet smile.
00:59One day, she saw how sad Nauman was about his spots.
01:03Her heart felt for him, and she remembered something very special from her home country.
01:08She went to Nauman's wife and said,
01:10Oh, I wish my master could meet the prophet who lives in my home.
01:15He's a special man of God named Elisha.
01:17I just know he could help the captain get better.
01:20When Nauman's wife told him what the little girl said,
01:23a tiny seed of hope started to grow in Nauman's heart.
01:26A real prophet?
01:28Could he really help?
01:29Nauman decided he had to try.
01:31He went straight to his king and told him all about the prophet in Israel.
01:35The king was so happy for his favorite captain.
01:38He said,
01:39Of course, you must go.
01:41I will even write a letter to the king of Israel for you.
01:44Nauman was so excited.
01:46This was going to be a very important trip, so he prepared a huge, amazing parade.
01:51He gathered 10 giant bags filled with shiny silver coins and 6,000 pieces of sparkling gold.
01:58And that wasn't all.
02:00He also packed 10 sets of the most beautiful, colorful clothes you've ever seen.
02:04He got his best horses and his shinniest chariots ready.
02:08He even brought a whole team of his strongest soldiers to travel with him.
02:11It looked like a royal parade was about to march through the land.
02:15The journey was long, very long.
02:17Nauman and his grand parade traveled for days and days.
02:20They rode their chariots across sandy, hot deserts where the sun beat down.
02:25They carefully climbed up and down tall, rocky mountains with the wind whistling in their ears.
02:30The sound of the horses' hooves and the rumbling chariot wheels echoed through the valleys.
02:35Finally, after many weary days, they saw a great city in the distance.
02:40It was the capital city of Israel.
02:42Nauman led his parade right up to the biggest, most splendid building of all.
02:46The king's giant palace.
02:48He felt very important as he walked up to the huge doors, holding the letter from his king.
02:54A servant took the letter to the king of Israel.
02:56The king opened it and read it.
02:58But as he read, his face didn't look happy.
03:01It looked worried.
03:02Very worried.
03:04He jumped up and tore his royal robes.
03:06What is this?
03:07He shouted.
03:08Am I God?
03:08Can I make people better or not?
03:11This king is trying to start a fight with me.
03:13The king was so confused and scared.
03:15He didn't know anyone who could cure sickness with spots.
03:19News of the king's panic spread all through the palace.
03:22But when Elisha, the man of God, heard that the king had torn his robes, he sent a simple message
03:28to him.
03:28Why are you so upset?
03:30The message said, just send the man to me, and then he will know there is a true prophet in
03:35Israel.
03:36So Nauman was told to go find Elisha.
03:39He gathered his soldiers, his horses, and his chariots packed with gold and silver.
03:44This grand, shiny parade rumbled through the streets of the city.
03:47They must have been quite a sight.
03:49Finally, they found the right street.
03:51But it wasn't a palace.
03:53It wasn't even a big house.
03:55Captain Nauman and his whole army of soldiers and chariots stopped right in front of a small, simple, humble little
04:01house.
04:02This was Elisha's home.
04:04Nauman sat in his grand chariot, looking at the little house, wondering what was going to happen next.
04:10What would the prophet do?
04:11Would he come out?
04:12And could he really, truly make him better?
04:15We'll have to find out in part two.
04:18Thanks for listening, and don't forget to come back to hear the rest of the story.
