00:16holy amen there are treasures you can't even begin to imagine oh my god
00:23i'm matt paxton and my team and i are cleaning out properties rain and poop looking for big
00:29scores only one of a kind we found gold for our clients and ourselves and if my instincts are
00:37right i think this is legit everyone wins 82 000. that's all i can say is wow you give me
00:46my
00:46house back 110 000. i can't believe this is the same house 320 000. oh my gosh
01:02all right guys here we are queen new york the city that never sleeps this week it's all about that
01:09empire state of mind as the team and i are here to tackle two potential hordes first we're here to
01:15see a guy named mickey a lot of people call us and they think they got great stuff mickey definitely
01:20has great stuff got a really cool collection from the 80s and 90s but he is a single dad
01:26and he needs to sell it all so he can make space and money for his kids a lot of
01:31the stuff that i
01:32have in my collection is everything 80s i have a lot of collectible jackets from the wu-tang clan
01:38and boys to men and a lot of the mature jackets crew jackets are not available in stores i collect
01:43a
01:43tonight rider back to the future so i have these uh back to the future shoes that that auto lace
01:48oh yeah i'm very very excited to see this toy collection in person you'll find more back to
01:55the future stuff here like marty's hat his camcorder that appears in the beginning of the film the
01:59hoverboard is like sitting here these are worth a pretty padding the inner kid in all of us is
02:04going to have a great time this week oh dude i haven't been back here in almost two years oh
02:09man this
02:10is gross uh cobwebs everywhere well tons of mouse poop a giant spider up there these items in the
02:17shed could be ruined based on the conditions that are in that video it looked like a lot of them
02:23entertainer still all right don't trip over anything this is valuable stuff i think it's time for me to
02:28get rid of a lot of the stuff well nope don't touch my toys close that drawer please i have
02:33three kids
02:34and so i gotta do it for my kids as i'm closely approaching 50 i'm getting too old to hang
02:39on to
02:40my childhood dreams and i want to hold on to my kids dreams and give them room i want them
02:44to be
02:44able to have a place to play you are the only guys that can help me out because i just
02:49don't have the
02:50time the resources to pull any of this stuff out as far as target items that don't get any better
02:55than
02:55this i mean let's start off with the best thing i've seen in a couple years back to the future
03:00two
03:01self-lacing nikes i can't wait to see those beyond excited to see those they made less than 100 of
03:08them fingers crossed these are legit because if so i mean this has got a six-figure potential
03:13along with the self-lacing nike mags we're looking for night rider memorabilia and limited edition hip-hop
03:20tour jackets dare i say we're about to go back to our future we are very excited about seeing this
03:36collection i'm very excited to show you i'm gonna let mike and i come inside with you and then the
03:40guys are gonna go in the back sounds good yeah we'll see you guys in a little bit all right
03:43see you
03:43let's do it here we go wow holy cow wow right off the bat i see night rider yeah it
03:50was always my
03:51favorite tv show growing up michael knight the character was that one man who made a difference
03:56and made me want to become a teacher because of that it was my 80s icon i am the voice
04:00of night
04:01industry 2000 i can't believe this a car that talks back to me in the early 80s tv audiences tuned
04:07into night rider starring david hasselhoff alongside his partner in justice kit an artificially
04:13intelligent talking car basically a tesla with an attitude the series became a cultural phenomenon
04:19in 2021 hasselhoff auctioned off his own personal kit car for 300 000 i might find one night rider toy
04:28once every six months you've got practically everything night rider collections do not come
04:34along very often in 25 years i've never seen one it's a very good collection but it's extremely rare
04:40and in this situation i'm not confident that rare is good but look if i can sell alf stuff i
04:47can probably
04:47sell night rider stuff i have not seen most of these toys before like and i've seen millions of toys
04:53as a child of the 80s i lived for night rider mickey has all of the standard things you would
05:00want to see
05:00but then he has night rider party cups these little gloves these kids gloves that should have been
05:06destroyed or lost years ago young people today they know transformers are but night rider no chance
05:13i basically have to find mickey 2.0 in order to sell this night rider collection
05:19oh three shades pick your poison let's check out the one on the left yeah you do the honors bro
05:26uh-oh uh-oh ghostbusters exactly so if i can get to the back and see what's under all that
05:32stuff
05:32we probably have some sales so all the jackets are in here guys um all the concert and tour jackets
05:38wow
05:40a ghost face killer jacket i haven't seen anybody else with this jacket this is about a 500 jacket
05:45you know i've been dealing with music memorabilia for 30 plus years this is memorabilia you can wear this
05:51jacket was made in 1997 during the height of their popularity with the second album wu-tang forever
05:57but you know this is not the creme de la creme i have the nike air mag sneakers here they
06:03are oh my god
06:08wow man whoa this is crazy i'm kind of in a hole here man these are the auto lace one
06:16unbelievable only 89 were
06:18made power laces all right in 1989 the time travel film back to the future part two gave
06:25audiences a glimpse of what life in the far-off future of 2015 might look like including a futuristic
06:32pair of self-lacing shoes worn by the film's hero marty mcfly fans petitioned for decades to make this
06:40dream a reality and in 2016 nike gave them their wish the first ever truly self-lacing wearable
06:47version of the sneakers proceeds went to michael j fox's foundation only 89 pairs were made and
06:53some went to auction for 200 000 dollars look at that dude wow i mean this is this is the
07:05show dude
07:05like this is crazy my hunch is they probably are real if these shoes are real they're easily worth
07:11a hundred thousand dollars but there's a massive black market of replicas and knockoffs that look
07:15incredibly real so i have to have an independent person come in and authenticate these so we are
07:20a hundred percent confident before we sell them if this is how we start yeah we're 10 minutes into this
07:26house now watch your head guys as you come down oh my god i didn't realize you also had transformers
07:34yeah this is great i mean there's some newer figures some older figures a lot of them are at least
07:39in
07:39the box whether they're sealed or not are these sellable absolutely this place it's a museum for
07:46amazing toys from the 80s i didn't realize you had these welcome to the masters of the universe world
07:51wow these are the figures that uh you might remember from your childhood i love it
07:57not surprisingly mickey has this house very organized he knows where everything is which will
08:02help us a lot because this is a horde that i need every minute to inventory and price what's going
08:07to be gone and what's going to be replaced i think i want all of it gone be replaced by
08:11my kids toys
08:12this house is not kid friendly it's like a candy store that you cannot buy candy out of mickey has
08:17spent decades of his life on this collection and it's a big part of his identity but being able to
08:22recognize that he needs to get rid of this collection for his kids as a father i fully respect that
08:29hey guys what's up what's up how y'all doing here there's some good stuff all of our target items
08:34are accounted for and then some really good stuff it's definitely a home run as long as there's no
08:41counterfeits what do you guys got until we can get digging it's hard to tell what we're working with
08:45yeah from what i see in the back shed look the most promising it's ghostbuster stuff halloween and
08:50christmas stuff too okay so there's some hope there yeah so what would you think on overall cost then
08:55two thousand would probably be great two would be amazing oh yeah let's estimate it up to three
09:00just to be safe okay all right well now let's just put a little more time into researching and getting
09:05the right buyers i mean this is a weird one but we could make a lot of money on this
09:09one man yeah
09:10let me go meet with mickey okay got it i'll see you guys in a few okay
09:15dude the toys inside oh my god all right we obviously want to do this job man you've got some
09:22great stuff
09:23awesome i think there's a big sale here my costs are pretty low honestly i think 3 000 and we're
09:29looking at least six figures in sales if those nike mags are the real deal uh i mean i'd i'd
09:34rather
09:35be at 40 60 but honestly 30 70 feels a little more fair to you i'm i'm i'm almost there
09:41if i can just get
09:4575 percent maybe only because my stuff is kind of immaculate it's organized ready for you
09:52you know coming down five percent isn't a big deal but we have a lot riding on these backs of
09:57the future
09:57shoes the reward on this job is much higher than the risk the risk would be that it's all fake
10:03and
10:03i can't make any money and if that's true i'm only out a couple thousand dollars on labor so for
10:08me
10:08i'm all about taking the risk on this job because i think we can make a ton of money 75
10:1325 yeah you
10:16got a deal dude and i guarantee you get the backyard and the house reclaimed for your kid i'll be
10:21honest
10:21i was willing to roll the dice on this deal but the reality is i am fascinated by these sneakers
10:26for
10:27my kids if they met mr beast or messy that'd be a huge deal for me it's holding the back
10:32to the future
10:33to nike mags all right we're gonna get started in the backyard like right away wow can't wait thank you
10:38so much thank you what's up guys how are you good to see you the stakes are high mickey has
10:45invested
10:46in this collection he put a lot of cash down to buy these things so hopefully we'll not only make
10:50all
10:50that back but make him a decent enough profit and make space for his kids and give them the life
10:55that they want i have a good idea of what we're working with inside so i want to check out
10:59those
11:00sheds to see if there are any other hidden treasures we can salvage oh that's thing robocop dude you
11:06remember robocop yeah dude check this out cool comics you don't even smell this anymore do you
11:12no i mean i smell it don't get me wrong whoo look at that man so when you're looking at
11:20poop
11:20looks like a tick tag it's a rat as a clean out specialist rats can destroy a job for me
11:26this is
11:27getting bad in here we need masks they're small they're nasty they can get through the entire
11:31collection hopefully they haven't destroyed everything oh man oh look at that oh i mean this
11:39is years of rat what would this stuff it was in good condition what would it sell for well this
11:46is
11:46from the 90s it's highly sought after star wars collectible my guess it'd be worth a couple hundred
11:50dollars every single job comes with risk and these hundred thousand dollar shoes are not guaranteed
11:56so right now every single item matters it's one thing to throw away items worth a couple dollars
12:01it's another to have to throw away items that are worth hundreds of dollars that is a punch in the
12:07stomach just i mean you can't even say this dude this is breaking my heart dude i'm losing money
12:20this is one of the weirdest things guys what we got here man state puff marshmallow man from
12:26ghostbusters look at this thing day two here in queens and unlike back to the future we can't go back
12:32in time i'm hoping we have better luck with valuables in the other two sheds but while chris and
12:37kalen keep working i'm gonna meet with someone mike set up to buy the jackets obviously the wu-tang
12:43stuff's incredible you know for sure man these need to be enjoyed you know so well this is history
12:49dude in the 1980s and early 90s hip-hop exploded across america it wasn't just music it was a new
12:57culture with its own style and tour jackets became symbols of status and crew loyalty today original
13:03wu-tang tour and crew jackets are among the most coveted pieces of hip-hop memorabilia selling at auction
13:09for over twelve thousand dollars so this is stuff that doesn't kind of surface that much yeah i would
13:15love to own it for sure if the price is right like 3 100 for everything i want to be
13:21at like
13:2211 50. oh for these yeah i'd go down to about 2500.
13:27100. yeah done sounds good all right all right here we go
13:39dude this is awesome all cooking bridges onto the giant and he slammed them let's hope
13:46something in here can be saved some more a little cleaner hey matt did you catch more yeah holy cow
13:58dude
14:00okay these two pairs are knockoffs of the self-lacing shoes but the reality is they're still kind of
14:06collectible and we can sell them for a price a lot less than the originals there's a couple grand you
14:12just found good job dude all right let me get these out all right guys are doing a good job
14:21in
14:21queens so i'm going to drive up to rhinebeck new york it's about two hours north of the city i'm
14:27going
14:27to meet with potential client julia and her daughter katie julia's husband john passed away a few months ago
14:34john was an avid collector and skier but john left them with a huge board
14:40it's a yard and a barn that is just filled to the top my late husband's name was john he
14:47was
14:47an emt he joined the ski patrol with the ski patrol he was part of the 1980 lake placid olympics
14:55and the 88 calgary olympics john was always a collector if he found something he liked he would look for
15:03more of that thing whatever it was when we say this is a hoarder barn we mean from the floor
15:08to the rafters literally there are skis up in the rafters mystery boxes he have his jackets from
15:16the olympics with different memorabilia olympic pins that he collected he designed a pin it said jump
15:25patrol i hope we can find it all of the old olympic memorabilia does very very well specifically the
15:31clothes they gave out i see vintage ski equipment everywhere that vintage ski equipment can actually sell
15:37the olympic pins have become incredibly collectible especially anything from lake placid and the
15:42miracle on ice that would be a huge win for us the outside has hot dog carts there is a
15:48pontoon boat
15:49several kayaks hot dog carts is not something i see in hordes these days so i'm really excited to see
15:55what we have there it's really sad that the horde has just kind of taken over all of it because
16:01it's a
16:01gorgeous property it's an acre and a half full of stuff full of trash full of collections it's too
16:08much for two people to handle alone it's just all consuming so really excited but bottom line we've
16:14got to get into this yard get into this barn and see what kind of value there is before i
16:19can make a
16:19deal we're going for gold and the way to get there is finding those hot dog carts the vintage skis
16:25and the
16:25olympic memorabilia hello hello hi julia good to meet you nice to meet you nice to meet you all right
16:33i see why y'all called me this is welcome to the jungle it is a jungle the yard is
16:39dangerous boy this
16:40is a ton of stuff back in here we're just beginning this tour and it's already shaping up to be
16:46a level
16:46five horde where every step could be dangerous please watch your step right there no twisted ankles
16:52man there's a ton of scrap metal here the path untraveled especially for julia and katie to do
16:59it by themselves and if there's anything valuable here it's buried under weeds scrap metal and poison
17:04ivy under the weeds many grills smokers all kinds of stuff and there's really no other way for me to
17:11get it but to hand pick it guys this is something this right here i'm really intrigued about a hot
17:16dog
17:16cart i've never seen a hot dog cart in a horde i'll tell you that well there's two okay yeah
17:22two for one deal as we go through this yard i would say most of these items need to be
17:26thrown
17:26out or scrapped however these hot dog stands are in pretty good condition i mean they're valuable
17:31because you can resell them but they also generate ongoing income so that combination makes them
17:36very desirable for the right buyer wait until you get in the barn literally as soon as you come in
17:42the door there's skis holy cow dude this guy had a lot of skis his house is like an i
17:50spy book every
17:51single time you look at it man you've got it all here you guys he sure does so do you
17:57have any idea
17:57where the olympic memorabilia might be no idea all right i like it i like a challenge all right i
18:03think
18:04i've seen enough in here this guy has an amazing story my hunch is telling me we're going to find
18:08some
18:09incredible treasures but i'm telling you right now it's not going to be easy i'm a little nervous
18:13about the yard me too i think costs are between 15 and 20 000 and i honestly have no clue
18:21what i can make profit wise so for that reason i think i'm just going to go 50 50 split
18:26yes that's
18:28fantastic all right 50 50 split all right so i'll be back in a couple days thank you thank you
18:33guys i'm
18:34excited thank you we are too he has literally just about every single item that was ever produced
18:45for night rider the view master the night rider lunch box i remember this as a kid hello michael
18:52yes kit hit the turbos we cleaned out two of the sheds and luckily found some salvageable items that we
18:58can sell mickey said he wanted to make his home to be more kid friendly so i'm having kaylin tear
19:03down the
19:03feed up wooden sheds to give his kids a bigger play area in the backyard while mike prepares the
19:08night rider collection for the visiting high-end vintage toy collectors this is hands down the best
19:14night rider collection you will ever see i've had my store for 35 years and night rider stuff just does
19:20not walk through the door yeah you know i can tell these collectors are feverish by this night rider
19:26collection so i'm going to try and sell everything for as much as possible this has so many great pieces
19:31every cool kid had that in 1985. oh my god i just want to show you like for example this
19:36voice car
19:37it actually works yeah let me check this out what is your next mission i think your next mission is
19:43to shake my hand and give me six thousand dollars what do you think you got the deal scan my
19:49qr code
19:50with your phone and we can start boxing it all up we've already come across two knockoffs of the nike
20:02mags but the real question remains are the pair of the self-lacing shoes that we saw on the tour
20:08real or not mickey thinks they're real and so do i but if we're going to sell these things for
20:13100 grand
20:13we have to be absolutely certain that they're authentic so i'm going to call a friend that worked
20:18at nike and helped design this shoe tiffany thank you for taking the call uh we are in new york
20:24city
20:24and we came across nike mags now just i just want to explain that like you literally designed these
20:30correct yeah i was part of part of the team that engineered them and actually build it all into a
20:35wearable shoe all right so we got three pairs here here is the first pair we've got two of these
20:41this is the i guess you probably did not help with these this is what was sold at uh universal
20:46studios
20:47all right this was the next pair from 2016 i believe um i'm guessing these were more of a
20:55halloween costume yeah i think they were those are definitely not uh the ones i worked on that's
21:01for sure probably not an original so we will not waste on these are not the good ones two down
21:05you go two down and let's go here to the big dog okay so this is an auto lace did
21:11you try it yes
21:14okay we're on the right track can you show me the buttons so the buttons yeah they look good tiffany
21:22that's great show me the um the inside the die cut we call these ears this edge should be trimmed
21:31really nice well that doesn't look right uh oh what do you mean
21:47that doesn't look right this edge should be trimmed really nice you know yeah it looks like
21:52a my one of my kids took scissors like the little scissors from elementary school and cut around it
21:57how about the outsole let's take a look at the outsole this is about to be a career defining
22:02moment if these shoes are real it'll be the single most expensive item we've sold but if they're fake
22:07i don't think my heart or my wallet can take it that outsole is actually if you look at the
22:12bottom of
22:13it see how it doesn't line up to the front of the shoe there like right in this area it
22:18should
22:18it should be butted straight up to there there is a two centimeter gap here yeah from here to here
22:25yeah that's a little surprising my guess is that someone actually took that apart and repaired it
22:30um but that it was originally uh one of the shoes yeah you're right it's like this this piece got
22:38the bottom part got glued on and you're right the whole this one is a lined up top up here
22:44but when you
22:44get to here it starts to slide down yeah that's a little abnormal for these because those there was
22:50only 89 pairs so they were hooked at with a fine tooth gum all right well that's not good that
22:58substantially changes the price it definitely i can't sell it as is i mean i know that and that's
23:03the kicker i mean that's what i needed to know i really appreciate your time of course all right
23:07my pleasure all right bye bye bye i'm a little bummed i mean the biggest takeaway from her was this
23:16gap
23:17here on the shoe she believes this was taken off and re-glued back on by hand
23:23her belief is that these were actually probably deconstructed
23:28so they might actually be a real pair but they've been completely taken apart so you know that might
23:33change this from an eighty thousand dollar shoe to a five thousand dollar shoe but uh you know i
23:37can't go sell this to someone and it not be real so am i bummed absolutely um do i have
23:45time to think
23:45about it no i gotta go make some cash it's our last day in queen but finding out the nike
23:57mags were
23:57original and messed with and now they're unsellable is an absolute punch in the gut and our wallets
24:04but luckily mickey has some other really cool and rare items we're in new york city man if you can't
24:09sell it here you can't sell it anywhere so the team and i are going to do everything we can
24:12to drum up
24:13some sales and increase our profits i wanted to know how much it's going for in this condition i can
24:17let
24:17go for 300. that's fine deal thank you so this is all from all three movies yeah the two star
24:30pieces
24:30are the skateboard and the jacket jacket both are not only autographed but they're authenticated
24:37so you've got on the skateboard you've got michael j fox this is the actual mattel release board
24:42they didn't make a lot of these so what are you guys thinking for the whole lot
24:46i'm actually at 10 grand on the whole set can do 10. uh if you did eight
24:54sold done we got a deal hot dog man all right man you are marty mcfly dude you get it
25:00all
25:00appreciate it thank you this collection is amazing if you don't know what unpunched means it means that
25:05these were never circulated out into the real world these never were i mean like put onto a peg at
25:10a
25:10store nobody ever touched these except the person who bought yeah and that's what collectors are looking
25:13for you know if you can get a mint on card unpunched toy that's like the holy grail all right
25:20we're
25:20looking for 7 500 for all the transformers and all of the human toys i can offer you 6 500
25:27for this entire
25:28collection 6 500 you got a deal my friend awesome this is excellent he's not gonna be sorry
25:44all right mickey you had one request for us this week yes make some space for your kids
25:50mm-hmm let's go see how we did can't wait look at all this space oh my goodness where are
25:57my toys
25:58the toys are gone it's all gone it's kind of crazy i mean it's beautiful but it and i'm i'm
26:05missing it
26:05all right here's the good news they went to a person that truly wanted them i'm happy to hear that
26:11we made
26:12the space for the things that truly matter my kids ready for your kids to get in here and start
26:18making it their home my mind was blown when i walked into my living room i could see my walls
26:22again
26:22they were immaculate couldn't believe it i was floored this was beautiful all right here we go oh my
26:29goodness you sold everything oh i have space now for my kids clothes 100 of the jackets were sold
26:35in new york oh wow okay hoping that this becomes like a coming to america experience for you and you
26:41see people wearing those jackets walking out in the street when you walk outside you know what i'm
26:46talking about yep yes all right we got a lot more space to see we go down to the basement
26:50yes let's
26:51do it oh my god echo echo huge echo oh my goodness wow what do you think that is crazy
26:59the kids will
26:59definitely have more room to play now exactly you can turn this into a little game room get a little
27:05foosball table some video games let's go check out the backyard wow oh my goodness
27:12wow these sheds were no joke we got rid of the two that were damaged by rats which opened up
27:17a nice
27:17little outdoor play area for your kids and we kept that one that was in good shape so that you'd
27:22have
27:22a place to keep all their bikes and stuff matt far exceeded my expectations man i couldn't even believe
27:29the play space for my kids i wasn't even expecting that i'm so forever grateful thank you for the
27:34play yard and they can play soccer and even sit at a picnic table as a dad i know what
27:41you really
27:41wanted all right right yeah i was clear with that all right so let's go over the good news what
27:46did we
27:46sell so we sold all the transformers all the he-man all of the knight rider we sold all the
27:54hip-hop
27:54jackets a lot of the back to the future memorabilia i mean you let us sell everything
28:00you said we could what did we not sell we did not sell the shoes oh man i called my
28:11friend tiffany
28:11beers she was on the original design team for nike she helped create these shoes and she said they
28:19were an original pair and then someone took them apart to copy them and then put them back together
28:26wow so we were not able to sell those obviously the number was a lot lower than we were expecting
28:33yeah obviously the number was a lot lower than we were expecting yeah i mean that shoe could have
28:42gone anywhere from 30 to 80 000. all right total numbers what did we sell 28 750 wow i have
28:53to be
28:53honest i'm a little sad about it but i've always felt guilty and nervous about selling these shoes
28:57you know i had wondered about them because i wasn't the original owners of the shoes so for his team
29:03to
29:03find out for me what these shoes actually were um i could sleep better at night now knowing what i
29:09know
29:09about these shoes cost was three thousand dollars so that left us twenty five thousand seven hundred and
29:15fifty dollars to split seventy five percent to you twenty five percent to me that leaves you with
29:20nineteen thousand three hundred and twelve wow so here's your cash and here's the check this is
29:26crazy all right dude i'm gonna go help somebody else all right enjoy the new backyard i'm excited for mickey
29:32i mean he has chosen his kids over everything else and it was not easy but as a dad i
29:37respect that
29:38fully guys what do you think i love it yeah i wish i could go back in time and change
29:45my deal but
29:46that's the reality of my business i take risks and one of the risks was these shoes weren't real
29:51sometimes i make 100 grand sometimes i make three or four
29:58with everything wrapped up at mickey's it's now full speed ahead when it comes to tackling our gold
30:02metal horde and locating our target items hey can i put the dumpster here where's carlin
30:11this property is massive so time is of the essence to get into the barn and start hunting
30:18we do know where the hot dog carts are but the vintage skis i saw in my initial scout were
30:23pretty
30:23beat up hopefully we find some other high-end ones buried in the barn with the rest of the olympic
30:28memorabilia i just don't know where to start mike well the good news is no matter where we start
30:33it's gonna help all right we got a lot of stuff i'm just trying to get over to you man
30:38oh wait a
30:39minute matt where you at look at this wow dude look they got marbles in the eyes man that's hand
30:47carved
30:47that's incredible it might oh whoa these are cool olympic posters lake placid 1980 was that the
31:02the miracle on ice yeah man usa versus russia ice hockey when they gave us no chance no chance
31:10in 1980 the cold war was at its peak and the lake placid olympics served as a global stage for
31:16the united
31:16states to square off against the soviets in ice hockey the soviets were professionals bigger faster
31:22the united states team was the complete opposite comprised of college kids but on february 22nd
31:28the americans shocked the world beating the soviets four to three
31:36dubbing the moment the miracle on ice as one of the greatest upsets in sports history
31:45this is a good start because of the history behind the lake placid olympics memorabilia from
31:50it sells for like double the price yeah but we need something way bigger than that yeah yep
31:56old john deere it's one of the few brands that always sells no matter what
32:03let's get this thing out of here oh i got flame i got a heat source so that's a good
32:09sign
32:09what's this oh man so he was a paramedic so this would have been training to do compressions
32:19not something we can sell but it's definitely a testament to the kind of guy he was and how hard
32:24he
32:37worked we're thinking 300 each so we're thinking 600 for the lot um all right let's do it perfect
32:44it's day two here at our gold medal horde we've got the bar in about halfway cleared out which is
32:49good
32:50but we still haven't found a lot of money yet i think we're just grabbing metal out of the woods
32:55right i think just moving scrap metal okay however we are finding an insane amount of scrap
33:01metal in this yard we're filling up kind of face yeah is it almost full already old bikes grills all
33:07of which fetch good money at the scrap yard and removing them is also going to make this yard a
33:11lot safer to maintain for julia and katie yeah doggie the game plan for today is to keep picking and
33:18we
33:18gotta get cooking on making some sales this is definitely the world record ski collection i've
33:26ever seen what do you call it the guinness book of world records yeah this is it these are probably
33:29like rental skis from a closed down ski resort or like maybe maybe he was renting out the skis
33:39the good news is there are a ton of skis in the barn the bad news is they're not worth
33:45hardly anything
33:46and that's going to hurt our bottom line oh these are heavy why are these so heavy we were hoping
33:51to
33:51find some top-of-the-line professional grade racing skis however these are run-of-the-mill rental skis
33:57not much value there vintage skis aren't like vintage guitars or vintage cars the technology has just
34:03changed way too much and these are obsolete now basically all they're good for is art or furniture
34:09so i'm going to clear these out put them to the side and pray i can get somebody to come
34:13in
34:14and take them all if i can't we'll send them to the scrap yard
34:20i got both hot dog carts yeah no this is clean man i was thinking 1600 on this one
34:26and 1400 on that one so that's 3000 for the two yeah you got a deal dude all right you
34:32got some cash
34:33yeah let's go get the trailer and get these out of here yeah something we're playing man what is this
34:43oh hey mike i think our luck's starting to change
34:46uh-oh oh whoa dude you found the pins dude this is great a lot of these were only available
34:56to the
34:56olympics some of these were only available to people participating in the games some of these
35:02are really hard to come by and that can mean quite a bit more money this collection spans way more
35:08than the games that john worked at in lake placid in 1980 and calgary in 1988. i'm seeing pens from
35:151976 in
35:17montreal 1984 in los angeles and 1988 in seoul south korea this collection is legit this thing is just
35:25full of pins whoa purse see if there's anything good in the purse whoa whoa chris i think we might
35:37have
35:37just found our gold medal i don't know what that is a pocket watch whoa hey man what's up dudes
35:56what you finding uh a pocket watch that's gold it's an elgin probably 14 karat gold from the 1920s this
36:05is a
36:05couple thousand dollars it might be man phenomenal job you guys that's incredible and you made a ton
36:12of space in here yeah what a dent this gold watch is a great find but unfortunately it's a drop
36:17in
36:18the bucket compared to our cost on this job hopefully we can keep finding great stuff like this or
36:22otherwise we're going to be dead in the water it's our last day here at the olympic cord we've spent
36:40a
36:40lot of money on heavy machinery and labor and unfortunately we haven't made much money it's
36:45going to be a sprint to the finish if we want any hope on turning a profit on this job
36:52this watch is amazing i just love it we found it buried in the barn oh wow it was like
36:56in the
36:56bottom of a bucket it looks gold plated but it's not it's gold coolest part here is look at this
37:01you
37:02pull that little you pull that little guy out right there and it's a stopwatch really really amazing
37:06watch i know you you said your husband collects stopwatches yeah he's gonna love it uh believe it or
37:10not i'm at two grand okay all right you got a deal congratulations thank you it's all yours
37:21roll roll your boat gently down the stream you're good straight back
37:34vince thanks for coming out man yeah good to see you so good to see you my friend this is
37:38it this is the
37:39craziest collection of olympic memorabilia that we've ever found i've got 1262 pins we've got some
37:45posters down here i mean this is just absolutely amazing and they're in pretty good shape some of
37:51them oh yeah they're all in great shape he was an emt for the olympics he was right there with
37:57all the
37:57athletes it's amazing this is actually stuff from my favorite period 1980s i'll tell you what there's a
38:03few pins in here that are worth hundreds of dollars all total for everything we're looking at nine
38:07thousand dollars my friend
38:27all right y'all let's go see the work we did look at this oh my god you asked for
38:32space in the yard
38:33there's definitely a space in the yard it took us all the way until dusk today i'm speechless oh my
38:40god the boat that was here was here my whole life to think just three days ago i couldn't see
38:46any of
38:47this no i'm completely speechless there's always been stuff there's always been weeds my biggest fear
38:53was that something would happen to me before we could clear it out and and katie would be stuck it
39:00means the world to me i'm staring at the ground until we get it okay no look up look up
39:05look up
39:05you are not going to believe you oh my god holy
39:11nikes i'm literally speechless yeah i'm like thrilled you know he spent what 30 years filling
39:17this space yeah so we had we had a day for every 10 years yeah yeah we could have been
39:22working on this
39:23for the rest of our lives i really never realized how much this was weighing me down i feel like
39:33i'm
39:34able to breathe again so let's go over the numbers we actually had good sales beautiful pocket watch
39:41the hot dog carts and scrap metal but what really helped us get to our goal was the pin collection
39:48wow can we do 82 25 you got it man okay so a total of 19 350 wow the bad
39:59news is this was a very
40:00expensive clean out i'm sure it was it was fourteen thousand dollars that left us two thousand six
40:08hundred seventy five dollars each wow here is your cash oh my goodness we didn't do this for the money
40:17you know we really didn't the cleaning out of the property financially is going to help us
40:24tremendously all right and our very last item we sold all the pins but one this is the one he
40:32designed
40:32the one he designed that you mentioned on the tape you sent me i've never actually seen this pin
40:41i thought this was gone i can't believe this was well people keep things for a reason
40:47yeah it's so relieving to finally be able to remember dad as dad and all the the many ways he
40:54was himself and not just as dad the guy who had a lot of stuff is is really special it
40:59was amazing
41:00we're the ones thanking you man like it was amazing hey i made money this was a good thing for
41:04me we were
41:05way down on day two we had lost money on this job and it would have been a total loss
41:09for the entire week
41:10but we buckled down we didn't lose confidence and we kept doing our job not every job is going to
41:17make
41:17you a hundred thousand dollars some weeks you make a lot of money some weeks you make a little money
41:21at the end of the day we still got to help two good families and in both situations their father's
41:27collections is what helped them in the end
41:30you
